It's the spookiest time of year once again! And the trio are back with their costumes for Oíche Shamhna 2024! They're all dressed as horror movie characters. Bex is Arnie Cunningham from Christine, Stacy is Mark Lewis from Peeping Tom and Silly is Jack Torrance from The Shining.

TMM Trio But Make Them Old Monster Characters

Here's a fun idea, what if the main trio of 'Too Many Misadventures', that being Bex, Silly and Stacy, were all old classic monster characters? Well that's what's shown here! More October/Halloween themed stuff! (Totally not cuz the creator of this loves Halloween to a normal extent.) This has been in the background for a while now, and why not show them off during the spookiest month of the year, October!

No Way Out Of Wonderland

Another treat for this spooky month. A bad ending to Bex in Wonderland, where she ends up forever lost in the Tulgey Wood and can't find her way back home.

After all that nonsense at this "Tea Party", Bex finally had enough. She had enough of being talked down to and having to navigate through a confusing world with as equally confusing characters and logic. She had it. As the hatters and hare continued their (what felt like) tenth reprise of the 'Unbirthday Song', Bex silently left the table and made her way out of the place. Upon leaving she was met with a sign leading her to another area.

"Tulgey.. Wood.. I mean, it's anything to get away from.. that.. I just want to get back home."

With every twist and turn she took, the path she was taking started to become less familiar. Straight paths becoming more winding in circles. Leading her back to the same spot where she was met with cross paths. Everything started to feel less familiar. Bex tried to push the feeling off that it's just superstition and her anxious thoughts getting the better of her. But with every twist and turn. Nothing was working. There was no real "way" back home. The realisation started to hit Bex. Her breathing became slightly shaky as she tried processing it.

What if you're going mad?

What if you're stuck here?

Bex tried to control her breathing as the dread started to build up in her. The trees seeming to grow taller and she was becoming smaller here. The sensation of being watched creeping up on her.

You're going mad.

You're stuck here.

The thoughts played in her head over and over like a broken record. Tears filling Bex's eyes and she started to stumble and keep her balance from Wonderland taking its effect on her. Both sides fighting for control, and Wonderland was winning.

I'm going mad.

Bex started to mutter it to herself as she held her head. Tears falling. Her mind failing her as everything spun around her. Nonsense taking over like a dense fog.

Horror Movie Parodies: The Shining

The second of 2 horror movie parodies to be posted, The Shining! Same with the previous two, it also features one of the trio in said parody. This one features Stacy as Wendy during the very tense and scary scene in the bathroom. Probably one of the most recognizable scenes in horror movie history, so it made sense to have it be parodied in TMM fashion. Be careful when staying at The Overlook, who knows what types of odd things you'll encounter or see..

We've got 2 more horror movie parodies coming up, first of which being a parody of Carrie (1976). What's featured here is Silly in place of Carrie in this parody in the well-known bucket of blood scene. Of course, it's not red coloured blood but instead black coloured. Either way, it's still a pretty chilling moment from the film. So go ahead, take Silly to the prom, who knows what'll happen there....

It's that time of the year again! Spooky season! And what better time than now to get into the swing of it with a horror movie parody. This parody is of the film 'Scream' with the anxious cat that does indeed scream a lot, Bex! Also, as always, Bex, Silly and Stacy WILL be back again this year as always with their Oíche Shamhna 2024 costumes on the 31st of October. TMM Papercrafts!

so this is what I've been doing while artblock has been kicking me in the ass. Papercrafts! I got into the whole thing a while back but managed to make ones of Bex, Silly and Stacy! I also made Minecraft skins of the trio and then used their templates to make papercrafts out of them :]. I think they turned out really well, I might look into making more "accurate" (I guess you can call it) papercrafts of the trio, but I'm happy with these and the cutouts. (Yes, those are laminated cutouts I made of the trio behind the Minecraft versions).

Also yeah, I know their palettes don't look the best but that's just my printer just refusing to print out the correct colours, dunno why that's the case, if anyone here knows about printer stuff lemme know of ways I could fix this cuz it's been a constant issue (for context the printer is a HP one). Honestly this is a nice change of pace anyways for art and creating and whatnot. I've been sketching some stuff here and there but generally stuck in what I call "Constant WIP Hell" where all I make are sketches and wips. it's fine though, I think I'm getting outta that now. Just taking my time with things

The Trio in The Smiler Queue

The trio waiting in line to go on The Smiler, what could go wrong?

...Multiple things actually, for one, Bex is scared of rollercoasters, the small ones are enough for her to handle. Secondly, Bex and Stacy have never been on a rollercoaster as intense as The Smiler, so they're both in for a surprise. Thirdly, Silly has already been on this ride multiple times in a row. So you can image Bex and Stacy's reactions when Silly tells them.

I know I just uploaded 2 days ago but I FINALLY got the motivation and energy to work on a piece like this! I've been feeling the case of "Missing Alton Towers Hours" so I used it to make this bit of art. I always wanted to attempt at what I call the "Gumball lighting effect" and that's basically just putting 2D cartoon characters into irl photos and making them fit in. Trust me, it is a LOT harder than it looks. I'm trying to improve in lighting as it is so I found this to be a fun but annoying piece to work on. It's not the best, but for a first attempt at stuff like this I'm proud of it nonetheless. Also I should mention too that the photo used for the background was taken by me!! And yes, I FINALLY GOT TO ALTON TOWERS LAST YEAR AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. My phone storage is begging to be put out of its misery from the amount of photos I took while over there but ANYWAYS. BEST 2 DAYS OF MY LIFE I TELL YA. All the rides there were so fun and some even surprised me more. Looking at you Oblivion. You made me nearly black out halfway through the drop. No shade to Oblivion though, bro was still really fun. But I gotta say that Galactica and The Smiler are my favourites, I only was lucky that I got to ride Galactica twice, considering how busy the park was (we went around the time school tours were happening which we didn't know about cuz different school system here) but I still thoroughly enjoyed the rides I managed to get on :]. Also yes it's canon the trio went to Alton Towers, I made these OCs i can do what I like with them and that includes making it canon they've been to a theme park I'm very normal about (not) XD

I think you guys now understand why I'm like this about The Smiler. I'm betting that either the main theme or the "Ha Ha Ha" variation is gonna be my most played track for 2024.

Looking The Part

A rather fancy cat in a rather fancy dress. I actually had this idea for a while now and only got to drawing it a few days ago. Since I can see Stacy sounding like Marilyn Monroe, I figured why not draw Stacy in one of the iconic outfits Monroe wore in 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. I changed a few tiny details up like the jewellery and such, mainly because some details that needed simplifying to fit in with my artstyle. But I didn't want to oversimplify it as I wanted the details to still be recognisable. I also tried referencing old glamour film sets, the catch is though is that I didn't have much colour references as these films/photos would've been shot in black and white. So I just tried to use lighter colours and hoped for the best.

I sorta assumed that lighter colours were used based on the hues in the photos, that and I remember how the likes of The Addams Family used to do this by using pink furniture and sets to make the family stand out due to technicolour not being invented yet. Same with the likes of women wearing green lipstick as it looked better on black and white cameras! That's your daily bit of old film trivia from mé féin ["myself" in Irish]. I also really wanted to lean into that lineless look I go for in my art. That's the main major rule I stick to when it comes to backgrounds. Keeping it lineless, this is mainly so I can make the characters pop out on screen a lot more. But not too much to the point they're out of place if you get me.

might aswell also put this here as a random thing, "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" from 'Hello, Dolly!' has Stacy vibes. It's definitely something her and the likes of Anita would all sing together. It's a very lovely and nostalgic song also for me. Since ANOTHER RANDOM FACT- this was in the film 'Wall-E' and that was 5 year old me's first ever exposure to that song and it's why I love it so much. (I should really rewatch Wall-E)

SILLY ART!! I was playing some Beat Saber yesterday and was listening to some Femtanyl when I thought of this pose for Silly! This art obviously was inspired from the song "PUSH UR T3MPRR" by Femtanyl. Very good music imo, it has Silly vibes to me. This may be a surprise to most, but I actually REALLY enjoy anatomy, I love drawing it, it's very fun. Which is why I wanna do more full body drawings! You may have noticed that I've been doing a lot more different stuff with camera zooms, full body drawings and all that. And I'm finding the whole process to be A LOT more fun than I expected! I'm surprised at that, but also relieved that it's not as bad as I expected. I'm still struggling when it comes to posing arms. But I think this artwork threw me out of that comfort zone and got me to draw a pose that I don't think 2022 me would even DREAM of drawing- and that says a lot cuz I think I found myself falling into a comfort zone and I sorta stopped experimenting with posing. BUT THAT CHANGES. I'M PUSHING THE LIMITS OF MY ARTSTYLE CUZ WHY NOT.

Anyways, back to Silly. I felt like giving her a belt with belt loops for this drawing since I think they'd look cool on her :]. Don't worry, this isn't a design change, just an alternative option for clothing in a sense. I also thought it would fit the vibe of this drawing. That being a sorta Too Many Misadventures video game. I have already dabbled in the idea of a TMM video game in the past and felt like doing it again here. It made me think of this being a character select screen for a level. I can also see Silly's levels being the most chaotic/difficult. It's no surprise really, since this is Silly we're talking about, and she's a pretty chaotic coyote, so it makes sense her levels would be face paced, fun, but also difficult. Also I think I should bring up the knife she has, it was also seen on the art 'Silly's FUN Adventure HD". I know it seemed like something I shouldn't have hidden, but I did, mainly cuz I couldn't think of a design. But this is their way to get to different realms! It's a knife capable of cutting a thin line in the air that can open a portal up to different realms. I gave it a little design update too. So don't think Silly owns multiple, she only has one. And lemme tell ya, she protects that item with her LIFE. If that ends up lost or stolen. It's the end of the world for Bex, Silly and Stacy. (not literally the end of the world, but they wouldn't be able to return home and such if you get me)

Might aswell also share a fun fact about Silly; she's afraid of ghosts! Mainly spirits that would possess an object like a doll. That's thanks to her watching something like Annabelle in the early hours of the morning. 10/10 thinking Silly, just as good as the times realm adventures goes wrong and she DEFINITELY had a Plan B thought up of.

Here's a look at one of the characters featured in 'Ride Souls', be careful and don't stare at their eyes for too long if they're changing colours of purple, teal and black, you could find yourself in a trance!

Smiler [Ride Souls]

FINALLY. YOU GUYS GET TO SEE THE SPOOKY SMILEY CAT THEMSELF! :D

This right here is Smiler, one of the characters from my short story series, "Ride Souls". They're a Cheshire Cat capable of invisibility, hypnosis and being spooky to those that are easily spooked (if that counts as an ability). They mainly hang around by the forest part of the realm. Hiding up in the trees until someone were to end up lost in there, to then reveal themself to that unsuspecting someone and either confuse that person with Smiler's "logic" or to just scare them away with their spiralling eyes. They're actually pretty harmless despite the hypnosis, and even then it only can put someone to sleep or make them see things that aren't real, almost like living in a dream in a sense. They tend to rely on fear and if someone is actually scared of them to be extra spooky, if not, they'll probably act annoying knowing Smiler.

If you can't already tell, "Ride Souls" is inspired from those old bronze/silver age Disney films, so think the likes of "Alice in Wonderland", "Robin Hood", "Dumbo", all of those. I really wanted to show that in Smiler's updated design :D Obviously, they're based off of the Cheshire Cat from 1951 Alice in Wonderland. He's my favourite character, he's just so fun and cool :] Not only that, but remember my Alton Towers AU I made with my OCs Bex, Silly and Stacy? Yeah, Ride Souls exists BECAUSE of Alton Towers. I made this WAYYYYYYY before TMM, which will explain why so much of the characters are inspired from/ have names linked to the rides at Alton Towers. I can't wait to talking more about this, but yeah, if you wanna see more I have a LOT more stuff about RS on my DA alongside some short stories I've posted :]

Sunday Morning Laziness

The warm sunlight came through the slim lines in the curtains of Stacy's room. She didn't usually sleep in late, but nonetheless, it was the weekend, and she felt like treating herself to lie in. Stacy isn't normally the one up later, as she tends to sleep until 10am. Bex would be up soon after, around half 10. Then the earliest for Silly would be half 12. Half 11am if she's lucky. Stacy sat up from her bed, stood up, and stretched as she slowly tried to wake herself up. Her nightgown swishing and swaying with her every movement like an elegant dress fit for an old black and white film.

RISK, RISK, RISK!

MORE BEX ART BECAUSE WHY NOT??? This drawing was completely out of nowhere cuz I was meant to work on another drawing with Silly and Stacy. That was until Jhariah released their new album "TRUST CEREMONY" and. Holy void, it's BRILLIANT. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. AND JUST. BEST ALBUM OF 2024. GO LISTEN TO IT. I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF JHARIAH. LISTEN TO THE ALBUM- I'll shut up. ---

Soooooo, what does this all have to do with Bex? I basically associate Jhariah's music with her :] Especially the songs "FIRE4FUN" and the song that inspired this piece, "RISK, RISK, RISK!" Those are my top favourite songs at the moment and they're both such Bex vibes. I think it's the really chaotic and energetic vibes they have it's just Bex in music form almost. I'm REALLY really happy with this art, especially the posing! I also referenced the cover used for the single for the background. It got me using my least favourite colour to work with- yes- it's orange. I don't hate the colour itself (I have a good few OCs that have orange in their palette), I just find it to be a difficult colour to go with other colours in a nice way. OH YEAH- you may notice Bex's makeup was done a bit different, that's cuz I plan to make that a sort of "alternative look" for her! She would also be wearing sunglasses alongside it too! So get used to seeing this look, cuz I'm not joking, I have ANOTHER TMM trio drawing in mind that does featured Bex with this look :]

This one is going to be something to explain. My thought process is random and weird, you've been warned HA. OK SO- basically I was listening to Andrew WK, as I usually do. I then found out that Andrew WK made a song for the first Jackass film. I listened to the song (it's called "We Want Fun" btw) and I started thinking of the show itself. THEN I made the connection that I associate a majority of Andrew WK's music with Silly, and he made a song for Jackass. So, THEN I thought to myself "the show Jackass is about crazy stunts and people doing dumb shit. Silly would LOVE IT". THEEENNNNNN I had the idea of her referencing the iconic "Hi I'm Johnny Knoxville, and welcome to Jackass" line. Had to draw it cuz she would DEFINITELY do a reference like this. Then I drew it. Did you manage to follow along and understand my thought process? No? Good. You weren't meant to. This is also my first attempt at fully drawing cuts/injuries WOOOOOOO! Now I can point to this when I say that "my content isn't for kids" HAH. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out honestly, those nearly 5 hours were worth it. Also yes, before you ask, blood in TMM is the colour black. I dunno why, I just think using actual dark blood red colours would be too much for TMM. (I say that and there's still lore to be unveiled that is.... definitely a lot more than "red blood being too much") ALSO also, despite all the cuts and bruises on her, Silly's actually fine. She's the toughest out of the 3. So she's kinda used to being this beat up from the realms she's been to. --- also her last name obviously isn't "Knoxville" btw- she doesn't use or like her second name cuz of lore reasons I wanna reveal in TMM's story later on.
