some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

i love writing scripts and screenplays actually

Can i just say. I love doing new things for the fun of it, and then i usually learn, “Oh, I love this, i should do it more often”

Case in point: podcasting. I did a sci-fi storytelling podcast for a bit (working on the story, gonna revive it) and I LOVED scripting and doing the voice acting, and then my friends were doing it w me, it was so fun

Then, I also did a script for my friend’s english project. I also ended up doing one of the characters. I am now writing a screenplay and am saving up to go for theatre camp

I joined the vball team on a whim. I’m starting training after the holidays

Hey they didn’t ask me to do this but there’s a bookstore in the Fresno Chinatown area that focuses on selling diverse, unusual, and banned books called Judging by the Cover that does ship if you don’t live in the area and just want to support a local bookstore. They’ve got books in English and Spanish and a couple in other languages.

Their whole thing is selling books you won’t find in mainstream bookstores so if you wanna diversify your reading habits it’s really interesting. They also sell zines and chapbooks.

I just think they’re neat. If you’re in the Central Valley and can make it to Fresno’s Chinatown they’re worth a visit. There’s not a ton of local stuff left around here and I like seeing the places we do have doing well.
