I usually reserve my Hot Toys collection for characters with deep personal resonance—whether from a comic book that left an impression or a character I've admired since childhood. Though I don’t have a particular affinity for Punisher (or War Machine), this diecast figure really stood out to me from the moment I first saw it. Its shelf presence is remarkable.

I bought the Darth Maul figure on a complete whim, and I have to say, it also looks spectacular.

My daughter, Nancy, auditioned for the role of Dutch in the new Predator remake. Didn't get it though. Too intimidating.

Came home from work to find this bad boy on the coffee table. My mum found it on the back street. It was covered in green ink, but some turpentine and a bit of elbow grease dealt with that. Makes an excellent centrepiece in the man cave. Love it.

THOUGHTS ON MY MAN CAVE AND MY GRANDAD

As a child I would often accompany my grandfather to his allotment. In those days he would spend hours upon hours pottering around with this or that and, at the age of ten, I felt baffled by his relentless daily need to spend time planting and digging and mending things; I couldn't understand how he gained so much pleasure from what I used to view as mundane activities. The years passed, Grandad died, and all those countless hours spent in each other's company became hazy half-remembered moments -- moments that I would give anything to experience again.

Today I know absolutely nothing about gardening -- so an allotment is out of the question -- but when I'm up here, in a small and silly way, I feel like I'm communing with the sense of peace that Grandad so often attained and I didn't then comprehend.

VAGABOND MICKEY (TEST)

I’m still at the early stages of toying around with my new graphics tablet and wanted to attempt something simple, just to get a feel for drawing smooth lines with a stylus. Eventually, I might spend a little more time making this little motherf*ckin’ rodent look more battle-hardened – perhaps I’ll equip him with a broken bottle and a knife – but for now I’m happy with the result.

SKULL ILLUSTRATION (TEST)

Never used a graphics tablet before. Found the experience to be highly enjoyable. Wanted a simple image to test out my line art, so decided to go as cliche as possible and draw a big old skull. I can already see five or six areas where I could clean this image up, but for my first ever attempt I’m pretty effing chuffed. Can’t wait to do some detailed stuff down the line.
