I have no idea what the story of this anime is, and it’s pretty obvious who the protag is, but I’m gonna add character to the girls to the left with no face

A man is driving down the road and breaks down near a monastery. He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, “My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?” The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound. The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.” The man is disappointed but thanks them anyway and goes about his merry way. Some years later, the same man breaks down in front of the same monastery. The monks accept him, feed him, even fix his car. That night, he hears the same strange noise that he had heard years earlier. The next morning, he asks what it is, but the monks reply, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.” The man says, “All right, all right. I’m *dying* to know. If the only way I can find out what that sound was is to become a monk, how do I become a monk?” The monks reply, “You must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of sand pebbles. When you find these numbers, you will become a monk.” The man sets about his task. Forty-five years later, he returns and knocks on the door of the monastery. He says, “I have traveled the earth and have found what you have asked for. There are 145,236,284,232 blades of grass and 231,281,219,999,129,382 sand pebbles on the earth.” The monks reply, “Congratulations. You are now a monk. We shall now show you the way to the sound.” The monks lead the man to a wooden door, where the head monk says, “The sound is right behind that door.” The man reaches for the knob, but the door is locked. He says, “Real funny. May I have the key?” The monks give him the key, and he opens the door. Behind the wooden door is another door made of stone. The man demands the key to the stone door. The monks give him the key, and he opens it, only to find a door made of ruby. He demands another key from the monks, who provide it. Behind that door is another door, this one made of sapphire. So it went until the man had gone through doors of emerald, silver, topaz, and amethyst. Finally, the monks say, “This is the last key to the last door.” The man is relieved to no end. He unlocks the door, turns the knob, and behind that door he is amazed to find the source of that strange sound. But I can’t tell you what it is because you’re not a monk

So... Britain is to Leave the EU

As a young British person I have been silently fuming for the last few weeks...

So the UK has “decided” to leave the Eu...

As I am sure most of the world is aware this hasn’t been an outcome accepted by all. 

There are so many young Brits currently shoved aside to make room for the elders who “know better”

Myself I am a full time employed 23 year old Londoner and I am getting sick of the older generations, in this matter, saying they know better. 

We (young people) are being told that we “do not know of how Britain used to be” or how we “haven’t lived to see how Britain has changed”.... okay...

Sure we don’t know what the UK of the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s and so on was but we never will.... no amount of arguing about how much you hate the rest of the world on “your turf” will not turn back the clock and revert  the UK back to the stae it was in post WWII. 

Leave or stay in the EU that was never going to happen. Times move on and change. Technology moves forward, relations are formed and broken, new wars are fought and the world of yesterday gets left behind. Of course it will not be forgotten but, even if similar events happen twice, the world of yesterday will not be the same as the world tomorrow. 

To use this idea of reverting Britain back to “how it used to be” as an excuse your bigot ideas and prejudiced ideals is nonsense.

We, as UK citizens, had the job of moving our country forward and choosing which path would be better for us. This was a choice to be made about financial stability of the future and the economy... that is clearly not what happened....

What happened was I watched my elders, those who I am meant to follow and respect, descend into a spiral of bigotry, racism and hate. 

Very quickly this choice to be made about finances turned into aggressive argument about immigration and in particular, immigration from outside of the EU as if this somehow would be affected or restricted if we left the EU. I honestly started to doubt if people from my own country had ever seen a world map... 

You cannot point at immigrants from the middle east (for example) and claim those people coming to the UK is why we need to leave the EU... New flash, our immigration laws concerning those outside the EU will not change because of the referendum results. 

This type of argument for pro-leave I heard the most before the vote. I even remember watching an interview on the news of a man saying he was scared of the “terrorists” and “Muslims”. Last I checked, though Muslims do live in Europe they aren’t usually from the countries in the EU.... To this they are shows a huge lack of world knowledge and on top of that, to throw “terrorists” and all Muslims all over the world into the same bag is simply hate. Hate derived by fear maybe but hate all the same...

So then we voted to leave.....

Yes, the outcome of the vote was not one I was in favour of, but with everything that is currently happening, our “choice” to leave the EU is not what I am currently upset about. 

The way Britons are currently conducting themselves is appalling. I had thought so much more of our people and I am starting to feel like I was deceived for the majority of my life. I have never been naive enough to believe the world was all sunshine and daises but I had thought that the air of general (begrudging at a stretch) acceptance was a product of British minds and ideals, not a sense of “I accept these people because I’m meant to and really I don’t accept them at all”...

The amount of hate crimes and racial slurs being thrown around is appalling. I am becoming ashamed of my nationality. This is not the first time my generation and the generations below me have received the short end of the stick from the older generations. 

I do not want to travel around the world an have the stigma of “racist” attached to “British” but that is very quickly the way it is going. We will have to survive and suffer financial deficit and be remembered and judged by the actions our “elders”. 

Mine is the generation who have suffered through recession right as we try to make our way in the world, increased university fees, unaffordable housing, wages that barely cover living and now even further financial fall and probable stereotyping as a result of our elders... 

I don’t think Great Britain is very GREAT anymore..
