Adar had so much love to give and as dark as he and his life became, he held on to that. The love of his children was the light that drove him. Sauron may have confused that light, but Nenya set it right again.

His children tore him to shreds and yet he still adored them with the pieces they left behind.

Additionally, some states have "trans sanctuary" executive orders signifying safety for trans folks seeking healthcare. These states are:

Living as a resident in these states means you are protected by state's rights and state government to continue or begin receiving trans healthcare. These laws have been codified in their states so everything has been a-ok'd by their state governments.

Is no one going to talk about Adar's Passive SI?

This is a man who at the heart of it all does not care about himself in the slightest. Adar is living solely for his children and trying to ensure a safe future for them. In Season 1 when he's saying his farewells to the sun there's not a desperateness to see it again but a sort of melancholic finality to his words like he "knows" it might be his last day. Or even has welcomed it.

There's also how he barely reacts to being harmed, sure he tries not to be but in the end he's alarmingly numb with it. The only time he responds to his injuries is when his children's wellbeing is on the line.

I could be reading far into it but in his death scene he doesn't fight back like at all, not even with words. While he isn't fighting back to prevent harming his children who are the ones killing him, it's unsettling how he just embraced what is happening.

It makes your heart ache for Adar to wonder just how much he's endured at the hands of Morgoth, Sauron, and life itself for him to be like this. And how tragic that he might've had renewed hope if he was allowed to pursue peace with Galadriel. Instead Sauron wormed his way into the minds of his children and eliminated his last remaining hope.

Adar has deep seeded trauma, grief, and exhaustion that seems to have dismantled much of his self-preservation instincts. He's done this for so long he just wants it to be over.

Been thinking more about Galadriel awkwardly standing around letting Adar be slaughtered because it will never not infuriate me how they doubled down on making her passive to the point of being out of character

Rambling thoughts ahead:

Thematically, her seeking out Adar with the rings and him returning Nenya to her was absolutely a setup of teaming up to fight Sauron (even if it would've been short), and you can't convince me otherwise

Then they just..rammed a square peg into a round hole by having her wait off to the side? It's asinine

They wanted to have her fight solo so badly, but it just DOESN'T work by having it back to back with her scene with Adar—it killed ALL of the energy and momentum they had built in the episode and even sucked out a lot of the emotional impact of her fight with Sauron

Her standing around "in shock" not only continued her weird passivity from this whole season, but, even worse, also cheapened her exchange with Adar—because it kind of turns her into a wishy-washy liar?

Like what do you mean she went to Adar with the 9 rings because even after all he'd done she realized he was her only option (and she'd supposedly stopped dehumanizing him and the uruks) and then formed an alliance with him only to go 'oh whoops nevermind, guess my hands are tied and I'll really only come to the aid of certain people'?? Like girlypop what???

Plus the fact that Morfydd is acting her ass off but they gave her absolutely nothing to work with or do is just a travesty

What WOULD have made sense (and as a way to show off Nenya's powers) is if she'd yelled and reached out in shock with her ring hand—light bursting from her ring, thus scaring off Glug and the Uruks (like how the phial she gave Frodo did something similar)

Now, I acknowledge that might've come off a bit avengers-power-move-esk, BUT!! it still would've fit in the fantasy universe because they've done other stuff like that let's be real (and would've worked as a call forward to Frodo)

Importantly, it also would've given her a way to avoid killing the Uruks to save Adar, which would tie in with her regret about killing them with impuinty before

ALSO, if they had teamed up and fought Sauron together he still didn't have to die!

After a close call she could have told him to run and save what Uruks he could and leave Sauron to her—then if he resisted leaving her side (some Adariel juiciness right in front of Sauron's salad), she'd remind him that Nenya helped him let go of his self-destruction and he needs to fight to live AND it would also rob Sauron of the chance of taking revenge on him!

We could have had a beautiful line from her like, "He already took my friend Lord Celebrimbor's life, I refuse to let him take yours too" (thus implying she sees him as her friend now too) 😩😩

Can I be unhinged for a sec? Yes? Okay. Adar finding out out the ahem effects his voice has on you and then whispering absolutely filthy things into your ear whenever he happens to pass by bonus points if he walks away like nothing happened.

Wishful delulu thinking, but I hope they do one of these!

Because I am taking deep dives in the river of Denial atm and still have hope that *maybe* trop could bring Adar back, I have decided to compile a list of ways he could have survived (partially inspired by this post).

These can also be used as some inspiration if anyone wants to write some fix-it fics.

Nenya's power could have 'lingered' and healed him when nobody was looking; he'd barely reverted back to his uruk appearance before the betrayal happened after all.

he might have faked his death; yes he got injuries that do not support continued survival for an ordinary person but he barely flinched when he got wounded on the battlefield before. Maybe he realised it was smarter to play dead and then work from the shadows to fight Sauron. (This would actually work as another parallel to Sauron, who was also presumed dead and returned!)

the elves could have found and healed him when nobody was looking; unlikely as it is, but maybe Gil-Galad thought he could give them important intel or recognized his elvish features and couldn't help himself?

there is a post that pointed out how Sauron is kneeling next to Adar; likely he only grabbed Adar's sword but he could in theory have used some magic. (Sauron mentioned to Celebrimbor how there were 'ways of keeping him alive' when Celebrimbor was already heavily wounded for example.) Why? The most horrific thought would be bringing back Adar through necromancy, but considering how petty and cruel Sauron is, maybe he would instead heal Adar just so the other can witness the suffering Sauron bestows upon his children as revenge. Or maybe he'd try and break Adar to get him back into his ranks - he is a skilled fighter after all.

considering this is Middle Earth, there is always the chance of some lucky coincidence or interference from a higher power, like with the eagles in the movies. An eagle might have come and picked him up to get him to safety, some unseen character could have come along and healed him, or he could have straight-up been healed by an unseen force for a certain purpose (aiding in the fight against Sauron?).
