Character building questions for your Drifter

Heavily inspired by this post, by @judasrpc ( My post is basically just a re-wor(d/k)ingof the original post to make it fit the Warframe worldbuilding. Please give the original a read.)

What's the lie your Drifter says most often?

How often do they show their genuine emotions to others?

How easily do they feel emotions that are linked to the spirals? Have the spirals effected them? - Joy - Fear - Sorrow - Anger - Envy

What's something that they discovered after escaping Duviri, that they were surprised that they like. What is something that they discovered after escaping Duviri, that they thought they would like but didn't?

If they had in-mission voice lines, what would they be? And when would they trigger?

How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’?

Do they give tough love or gentle love most often? Which do they prefer to receive?

What moment, exactly, are they the proudest of.

What are their feelings towards the Operator?

How do they think the Operator feels about them.

What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?

Who do they love truly, 100% unconditionally (if anyone)?

What would they do if stuck in a room with the person they've been avoiding?

What surprised them the most about the Origin system

What preconceived ideas did they have of the the Origin system, and were they correct?

What simple activity that most people do / can do scares your Drifter?

What do they feel guilty for that the other person(s) doesn’t / don’t even remember?

Which is their preferred frame? Why?

How much does your Drifter remember of the Zariman?

How does your drifter feel about their parents?

What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to their duties?

Where does your Drifter go to unwind?

What do they dream about? What do they have nightmares about?

Does your drifter drink?

How would they respond to being rebuffed (platonic or romantic)?

What do they tell people they want? What do they actually want?

How do they respond when someone doesn’t believe them?

When do they feel the most guilt? How do they respond to it?

How do they greet someone they dislike / hate?

How do they greet someone they like / love?

What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners / their best friend and don’t plan to tell?

Would they rather be invited to an event to feel included or be excluded from an event if they were not genuinely wanted there?

What is their preferred mode of transport?

How do they respond to a loose handshake? What goes through their head?

Does your Drifter like hugs?

What phrases, pronunciations, or mannerisms did they pick up from someone / somewhere else?

What do others admire about them? What does your Drifter think people admire about them?

What do others find frustrating about them? What does your drifter think people find frustrating about them?

What do they commonly misinterpret because of their own upbringing / environment / biases? How do they respond when realizing the misunderstanding?

How do they keep themselves entertained between missions?

What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?

Are they a listener or a talker? If they’re a listener, what makes them talk? If they’re a talker, what makes them listen?

Who would they say ‘yes’ to if invited to do something they abhorred / strongly didn’t want to do?

Would they eat something they find gross to be polite?

What belief / moral / personality trait do they stand by that you (the player) personally don’t agree with?

What’s their preferred weapon?

What’s something they’re expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate?

What’s a simple daily activity / motion that they mess up often?

And you don't just need to fill this list - you can keep going!

I think what made me lock on to Amir so thoroughly is that I see in him these traits that I'm so self conscious about. That I've been made fun of for, that I've been made to obscure in the past.

He CAN be a bit overwhelming sometimes. He DOES hyperfixate on a topic and struggles to let go. He is sensitive to rejection and has trouble sleeping, and takes coffee to calm down. His filter is rather porous, and half of what he says is a reference that only a few people would get. His feelings get too big for his body and he feels like he's running on motors. He's can be clumsy and inattentive and he puts WAY too much pressure on himself and and and.

He's a mirror held up to some of the attributes that I like THE LEAST about myself... and I still find him loveable. And I finally felt it; that when my partner says that they love me... it's ALL of me...

In the past 2 weeks, I've allowed myself to be unapologetically excited and hyperfixated in a way that I haven't in over a decade. I've stopped profusely apologising for infodumping on my closest friends (who have now started playing too!) And I'm allowing things to make me happy... even if it's "too much".

Having rep like this... fuck, it means the world. My heart is genuinely so full seeing the Hex treat him kindly and taking his needs seriously, AND to see that others feel the same way.

I wouldn't want to remove any part of myself, the "too much" symptoms of my A(u)DHD included, because there's me in there. And the people who love me love those parts, too... (or at least don't mind them🤔)

A year of art, in no particular order, including some Tennotober, commissions, traditional, and zine stuff. Had a lot of experimentation this year. And I met a lot of lovely people too. <3 Thanks to everyone for the support and kindness, and for the few special folks who really made me feel more confident than I have in a very long time, not just in art, but in life. It's indeed been a rough one, and it'll likely continue to be, but here's to keeping on.
