🏴‍☠️ Ahoy! Cookie 🍪 Kuki Masamune has been added to the sorter.

Funnily enough, the last tantou added to the game was also a Masamune. (thank you to my friend who gives me screenshots)

I also fixed an issue where the sorter had stopped shuffling the characters for some reason. whoops

🎊 Goke Kanemitsu has been added to the sorter!

man, the osafune really are well dressed, aren't they? the uesugis are one of my personal favorite sword groups (cough what a surprise, I love himetsuru and gokotai) so I'm happy to see another one in game, especially one that's friends with hime!

may your chaos stages be merciful! have a happy holidays if you celebrate any winter (or summer!) solstice-y events, wherever you are☃️

have your favorite touken danshi rankings changed this year? or have they never kept still in the first place? (mine seem to be kind of consistent at the top and the rest is a mess depending on what new content came out recently)

hi, hyuuga is my favorite son if you'd like to draw him. I... feel like it was just yesterday that I was excited to expand his family tree by smithing ishida. and I was so proud of finally ranbu 5'ing hyuuga last month. Sorry, I just feel incredibly lost and am rambling now. If you find it easier to draw non-tantous, nikkari is very precious to me as well :)

First of all, I want to say thank you for creating the sorter~ It's always fun to see how the toudans perform in my rankings!

johren server shutdown

Hi everyone,

A more serious post today instead of a real update.

As you may know already, Touken Ranbu’s English and Taiwanese servers (including Android/Apple versions) are shutting down in August. We received our final update this past maintenance. If you’d like to voice your opinion together with others affected by this change, some saniwa are starting an email campaign to Johren (more details https://discord.gg/9dWV9wTX3y).

I don’t know if I will try to start playing the Japanese version. It will feel different without all of my swords. I’m putting my affairs in order :laugh: by writing parting letters to some of my swords, as well as headcanoning where each toudan goes-- whether they wish to keep fighting in a friend’s citadel, pursue a hobby, retire, find a more compatible citadel somewhere else, or become KBC. I may post these letters on a separate tumblr just so I can have them for... I don’t even know what. My own grief, I suppose.

I wish all my fellow EN and TW saniwas comfort during this difficult time.

Anyways, the part that’s actually relevant to this tumblr:

I will continue to update the sorter and the kiwame level calculator even as my own journey comes to an end. I don’t wish to rip these community resources away from anyone who uses them.

Hi wonderful people,

- 👠 Ishida Masamune has been added to the sorter. Hyuuga is my favorite sword, so words cannot express how happy I am to see him finally get some family. Also, whaaat, more Hachisuka recolls?? Best of luck to all of you in your smithing endeavors!

- 📋 There’s now a button in the plain text results pop up window that automatically copies your rankings to your clipboard :) It’s not much, but it’s something!

- I’ve been working on other changes under the hood here and there (including investigating ways to speed up the sorting process). It takes a lot of time and motivation to sift through legacy code at the end of a long work week 🫠

- Also, the new sakura fubuki (energy) mechanics are awful... why is it like this...

Updates to calculator

hi everyone! I updated a simple kiwame level calculator (link) I wrote a while back.

It lets you calculate the level kiwame your sword will return as after training based on either

1) its current unkiwamed level + (optional) remaining exp until next level or

2) its current cumulative exp amount.

Option 2 is now available thanks to the changes where swords can store extra exp even when maxed, and the recent UI change that lets you see how much exp they have, so I thought I’d finally give it a good ol’ update. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
