i for one don’t know what all the fuss is about lmfao. I liked the episode, I expected something tropy and ridiculous, because that has been DW for me for a long time, idk why people are mad at it lmao

i mean, sure, if you expect dr. who to be bad then you won’t be disappointed when the episode is a nightmare factory. i always go in at very least hoping to be pleasantly surprised, which happened this season w/ the pilot, extremis, empress of mars and eaters of light. a lot of people’s issues center around bill being killed/turned into a cybermen, which i can understand and share.

another issue is moffat’s piss poor writing where an interesting concept is executed backwards and is bad. the doctor monitoring missy as she attempts to fill his role? man that would be a cool idea for an episode. 

SIKE! it’s just bill and simm!master chilling around doing nothing while the cool ass origin story of the origin story of the cybermen ( which was better executed in spare parts ) happens around them offscreen. there’s a few decent moments sure, but they don’t hold a candle to the garbage of the rest of the script.

the episode opening w/ twelve regenerating is such a cheap and bad hook, especially since the episode has nothing to do w/ the doctor at all and he just kind of around for most of it.

also the ‘genesis of the cybermen’ line grates against my brain.

seeing other people’s reaction to this latest episode, it kinda makes me glad i’m invest in new who only because i wanna see how bad it can get. that i’m not, y’know, genuinely invested in the story and characters because holy hell, no.
