Well, there he was. Peacefully sitting in the Hufflepuff common room, minding his own business and trying to work on a very long transfiguration essay. The essay actually wasn’t due until the next week but Tiberius had a strong knack for keeping ahead when it came to his studies. He feels that overworking will pay off in the end. He probably could have written up this whole essay in no time at all in the quiet atmosphere of the school library, but he took to the distracting common room, hoping to get a chance to catch his sister so he could pester her about finishing her late homework.
He was about halfway done with the assignment when his former girlfriend came at him in a whirlwind of force. Tiberius didn’t even have a chance to pack his nearly finished essay into his bag or put away his quill. His work was left to sit there alone and undone as Matty dragged him out of the common room. “Mats, can’t you see I was in the middle of something?” He asked, trying to unwrap her grasp from his arm. But it was no use. She was on a mission and he really didn’t have the heart to tell her to bugger off. He could sense her excitement of accomplishing a new spell, and he could hardly fight off the smile she wore while chatting away as she pulled him towards the castle entrance.
“Uh,” He muttered, knowing exactly why people did not want to experiment by going for a swim in the Black Lake. He was wary of it, but he didn’t want to discourage her. “I dunno’ why they wouldn’t…I mean they were probably just busy or something. But it’s not problem at all, I’m happy to help out.” He gritted his teeth a bit, silently hoping that her spell would actually work. Matty wasn’t stupid or unskilled, but sometimes she could be a bit naïve when it came to some things. Tiberius had to admit to himself that he was quite nervous.
They came to a halt outside of the castle doors, he rubbed the part of his arm that she held on too a bit too tightly. Was he ready? He figured he could make up some excuse to back out, but he knew better. He always told her he’d help her with anything if she’d asked. He smiled at her sheer enthusiasm for this trial. “Yeah” He nodded. “You can do it, Mats.”
Wet Dry / Tiberius and Matty
Matty had a secure grip on Tiberius’ arm as she dragged him out of the Hufflepuff common room and through corridors as they headed out of the castle together. She had just learned a new spell in Charms that could keep a person dry even if they were in rain or jumped in the black lake, for example, and she was dying to try it out. She had convinced Tiberius, more like forced him, to let her try it out on him.
As they walked briskly through the corridors, Matty chattered excitedly about whether or not it was going to work, “I worked all night last night trying to get it just right, and I think I did! I put my hand in a bowl of water and it didn’t get wet! Ooh I’m so excited to see if it works in the lake! Thankyou so much for volunteering, Tibby! For some reason, no one else wanted to go swimming in the Black Lake with me.. I wonder why. Maybe they’re afraid my spell won’t work..” She trailed off and bit her lip, looking at him as she walked, “Do you think that’s it?”
As they reached the castle doors, Matty stopped in front of them and let go of his arm, a huge grin on her face. “Okay. Are you ready?” She was basically jumping up and down with excitement. If this spell worked, she’d finally be able to play quidditch in the rain and not get wet!

Why do all of you insist on giving me these hideous nicknames? I got my eye on you, Bones.
Fantastic, Tibsy. We’ve got to get into the game.

Yeah, Quidditch really helps with the stresses of studious work and hopefully you wont be too disappointed when we beat Gryffindor.
And I surely hope you don't plan on abusing your position of power, Miss Fawcett.
Ah, the usual essays, of course. The perks of being a seventh year. Hope you have a good time during Quidditch. I’ll try to stop by a game sometime and cheer you on when you’re not playing Gryffindor. It’s a tough life but you know, the feeling of authority is nice.

Well, if you see him, tell him I need him. But in the meantime, how are you?
Of course, Al.
I'm alright. Got a lot of work to do. A couple essays before I work on some new quidditch plays. I can't wait for it to start. I have a feeling we're going to have a great year. But what about you? How's life as head girl?

aliceinyogurtland replied to your post: Tib, have you seen Frank anywhere?
I did check the library. Oh, sorry to bother you. I thought you might’ve seen him around.
It's not a bother at all. Is there anything I can do to help?

It is not cute, nor has it ever been cute. But don't you have some homework to finish or something? Don't start getting behind this early in the year, Mats.
I wish I could unsee what I just saw
Oh, it’s not so bad. I think it’s kinda cute actually.

You know how much I hate that infuriating nickname.
I wish I could unsee what I just saw
I never said I didn’t trust you. I do.
But Tibby, you love the name Tibby!

Oh, what? You don't trust me then?
And another thing, Mat...do not call me Tibby.
I wish I could unsee what I just saw
..I won’t deny it. I’d so much rather watch quidditch then work on some memory wiping spell.
That won’t be necessary, I think I can somehow move on from what I just witnessed. Thanks though, Tibby.

I'm not saying you're a good witch, I'm just simply stating the fact that you lack the certain preparation it would take to properly conjure the spell. I, however, have studied and practiced the spell and I could perform it with ease...well, if you wanted me to, that is.
I wish I could unsee what I just saw
Are you saying I’m not a good wizard?
How about you do it, then?

Well, there is. But I wouldn't suggest you performing it on yourself. It takes a lot of skill and practice and you could easily wipe your entire memories, yeah?
I wish I could unsee what I just saw
I accidentally walked in on two people, er, s-shagging in the girls bathroom on the 3rd floor. Isn’t there a spell for wiping memories?

Our team has got this. I have a few tricks up my sleeve for our new training. Don't you worry, Matty.
I will! And now I’m expecting you guys to win, don’t let me down!

Oh, you must know I hate seeing a girl cry, but you really shouldn't give your hopes up. I'm sure Fenwick is good, but he doesn't know what's coming to him. Just you wait. I hope you enjoy second place.
Well we’ve a while to wait, unfortunately, but I suppose wait we must to see which of us is living in denial. I have full faith in Benjy’s ability to lead us to victory, though. I do hope you lot are better then last year, though. It was hardly any effort to beat you.

Good work, Hes! You'll have to show me some of those moves. We need to bring everything we've got.
Oh I will be. I’ve been practising all holidays, I’ve come up with some fantastic moves after being by sisters bludger target for that past couple of weeks.
I think we’ve got it in the bag this year!
