Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Here’s what I’m planning on working on in the next year:

-Finish Antidote (5 chapters left holy shit)

-More step-dad AU drabbles (two in the making atm)

-and lastly, my new fic “maybe this is all I can be” (police officer Eren x child star Mikasa)

And that’s about it tbh! I’ll probably also try and finish possessions by the devil too. I have a couple of other ideas but nothing is really sticking to be like these three have and I won’t overwhelm myself with trying to make everything happen at once.

Yes and no, but it’s become more complex then that. He’s not aiming to damage her career now, he’s starting to care a little more than he’ll obviously admit haha.

Campfire pt. 1 - Stepdad AU Drabble

Eren’s body simmered in the cold lake, bare back pressed against the rough rock of the cliff. Wiping his hair back, he gazed at the small twinkling stars that scattered across the sky. There was still some beauty in this shithole, though he had to constantly remind himself of it. Slowly, sinking himself deeper into the lake, he sighed as the water muffled out his thoughts, almost wanting to drown in the shallow lake, if that would finally cleanse himself of demons stuck to his brain that had been there for longer than he could remember.

He’d always blamed himself for Midori’s death. The cabin hadn’t been as secure as he’d believed, and now every day they spent on the run was a reminder of his mistake. He’d been so confident in their safety, and now he couldn’t even bring himself to look at her daughter, the girl he’d helped raise, and now the girl he’d failed. He remembered the first time they’d met, when she was only around seven. He got used to her big eyes, always peeking around the corner any time she heard him working on his old truck. Mikasa liked to help out, and always made an effort to hand him whatever tools he needed, all sweet and polite. The little girl only ever referred to him as “Mr. Jaeger”, in that small soft tone of her’s. And now, that little girl only had him to look out for her.

It was his fault. But, he could make up for it. He had to keep telling himself that at the very least. Even with his self reassurance, those echoes of his former life still haunted him. That life had been peaceful, and years of that peace had let him get used to being comfortable. 

Midori had paid the price for it.

Eren reached for the flask that sat on the edge of a flat rock. 

“Fuck…” He muttered to himself as he spun the flask open, taking a long sip of the whiskey he’d snuck from an abandoned grocery mart during their travels. He couldn’t let the same happen to Mikasa, he could never go on if he lost her too. 

Eren got up and hauled himself out of the lake, starting down the rough path back to their camp. Again, sighing, he grabbed his pants and shirt off from the tree branch. Then, he slowly walked back to the campfire as he struggled into his clothes.
