Sally and Jeff!

A short fic I posted on my ao3 but thought I should share in my tumbler as a first post! ( ・∇・)

In my AU Sally and Jeff have a sibling bond. (I wrote this during December by the way.)

Inside the mansion's library, two individuals occupied the space. One of them was a little girl, happily selecting books, while the other was a man standing nearby with his arms crossed.

"Is this necessary?" the man asked, clearly unenthusiastic about the situation.

"Yes! It's all about embracing the Christmas spirit! Besides, have you ever read any fairy tales?" the girl asked, glancing at him and tilting her head.

"I know some of the popular ones," he replied, observing as the girl searched for a book.

"Knowing them and reading them are different things! It'll be fun!" the girl exclaimed, floating up to reach the top shelf and retrieving a book. "Ah, let's read Pinocchio!" she said, floating back down and presenting the book cover to him with a wide smile.

"Sally, everyone knows Pinocchio. The boy who can't lie to save his life," the man remarked, taking the book and examining the cover. "He's a loser and a complete failure."

"What? Come on, Jeff! Show some Christmas spirit! Pretty please?" Sally pleaded, clasping her hands together and giving him her best puppy dog eyes.

"What? Stop doing that!"

"Read Pinocchio with me!"

“I already know what happens in Pinocchio!”

“Please! Please! Please!”

"Alright, alright. But stop that!" Jeff relented.

"Yay!" Sally cheerfully grabbed the book from him and pulled Jeff by his arm. "You can choose the next book!" she declared, walking towards a reading spot that hid in the corner of the library.

"We're going to read more?" Jeff questioned, being dragged along. "Let's just stick to this one and be done with it."

"Nope! One book isn't enough for the holiday!" Sally insisted, settling down on a bean bag. "Can you read?"

"Sally, how fucking stupid do you think I am?" Jeff asked, taking a seat on another bean bag.

"..."

"Sally?"

"Uhm! I'll read the first two pages, and then you can read the next two pages!" Sally smiled, opening the book.

Jeff shook his head, he couldn’t believe Sally, the fourteen year old thought that he couldn’t read! How dumb did she think he was?? He isn’t dumb at all—

"-Are you even paying attention?" Sally asked, interrupting his thoughts.

"I am, I am! Go on, Sal!" Jeff reassured her, ready to continue the reading.

And that’s how they spent their night. At the mansions library reading fairy tale after fairy tale. At some point Jeff got so into it that he even started suggesting some books they could read. Sally smiled and went with it, she was glad he was finally getting into the Christmas spirit! It was Christmas Eve after all.
