Here’s to change
Remember thinking adulthood was going to be great?
Plot twist: adulthood quickly included an assortment of substances, self-hatred, stress causing physical illness, and a collection of moments I can not-so-fondly look back on and realize should have been my last moments.
My darkest times aren’t that far behind me, either. I’m only 27 - I’ve been an adult for all of 5 minutes. But when I minimize what life was like, I have people around me to verbally slap me up the head and remind me that, no, extreme chaos is not okay and a lot of it was not even close to normal. Pursue change.
