Oh. Ohoho! It seems these two battlers have history! Tix is the owner of the Koffing Time Café in Striaton City, Unova! They hold five badges and placed second in the Fireleaf Bake-Off yesterday! Olivia is a good friend of Tix and an employee at the very same Café, as well as a Striaton City Gym Trainer! They've both proven to be very accomplished battlers thus far, but who knows what will happen from here? I certainly don't!

Open RP Starter - Fortree Firelea

The meeting room holds about 5 other people as you walk in. At the front of the room sits a man in his 20s. He wears a light blue hoodie and has bright orange hair. His name tag reads, "theo (he/him)" and he's messing with a laptop. Finally, he pushes a key and the title slide of a slideshow is projected onto the projector sheet to his right. "There!" he says, obviously relieved. He puts his laptop to the side and picks up his Cleffa, who sits in his lap. His Porygon and Unown-Y float on either side of him, and a Cherubi sits on the table to his left along with a case of 16 Pokéballs colored light blue with a Feather Badge sticker on them. "Alright, we'll wait a few more minutes before we start! In the meantime, I'm Theo, and this is my team! The Cleffa in my lap is Celeste, above me are Widget," he pauses to gesture to his Porygon, "and Yogurt," he says as he gestures to his Unown, "and on the table is Jellybean! I've also received a few loaner Pokémon from the Fortree City Gym that we'll meet later!"

Judging is officially over! Let's give a round of applause to everyone who participated, every single desert I saw looked like it had a ton of effort put into it, and you all did great!

That being said, let's shout out our top three bakers!

In third place, we have Wren, with a score of 20/30! They baked an exquisite Bluk berry upside-down cake using berries that they foraged during yesterday's Foraging and You workshop!

Tix from the Koffing Time Café in Striaton City (@koffing-time) placed second with their beautiful black forest gateau! They scored an impressive 27/30!

Finally, first place goes to... (drumroll please!) Murdock of the Rising Volt Tacklers! (@rising-volt-tacklers) He blew away the judges with his barrage of strawberry sweet cakes and scored a 29/30!

Thanks so much to everyone who competed, and don't worry - there festival's only halfway complete!

The Fireleaf Bake-Off Starts Very Soon!

If you're interested in watching the show, our contestants will be cooking outside on stage for all to see! This is as close as most of us will ever get to seeing the Great Galarian Baking Show live, and it's an opportunity you won't want to miss! Contestants should be backstage now, gathering ingredients and writing up recipes. The Bake-Off itself will start in about 35 minutes, so plan accordingly!

Theo gives a quick wave to the man sitting next to him before Calvin loudly clears his throat. He stands up to address the audience.

"Hi! For those who didn't hear earlier, I'm Calvin and this is Wren. We've never put on a workshop like this before, but we're really excited to pass along the practice of foraging!"

Wren takes a breath, stands up, and does their best to look competent. "Foraging can be pretty risky if you're off on your own for the first time, so we'll be taking you into the woods around the city to forage together. Before we start getting ready to go, let's go over a few important rules." They flip around the bulletin board to show several pictures of leaves, flowers, and mushrooms pinned to the board along with a map of the forest and some bullet points that are too far away for most of the audience to read.

Calvin takes out a finger pointer from the rack below the bulletin board and starts to go over the text on the board. "First! Always be one hundred percent sure what you've found before you eat or touch it! A lot of plants have poisonous lookalikes, and, while it might be a little boring, it could save your life! Isn't that right, Wren? Ah, story for another time."

Wren rolls their eyes and smiles before continuing. "We're not taking any of you to get your stomach pumped, alright? You also want to remember to always get permission to forage before you start, and, if you can, bring someone more experienced with you. Don't over-harvest, only collect the part of the plant you plan to use, and don't forage anything protected."

"A little abrupt, but good job, Wren! That's about everything you need to know." Calvin gestured towards the orange backpacks that were placed on the seats. "Now, each of you should've seen the orange backpack we put on the seats. Open it up!" He goes on to detail the equipment in the basket and what it's used for. "Finally, each of you should have a laminated sheet detailing one type of plant - mint, watercress, wild Rawst Berries, or wild Grepa Berries. That's what you'll be foraging for today!"

The Fortree Fireleaf Festival is TOMORROW!

Hello, festivalgoers and potential attendees! This is your final warning before the official start of the Fortree Fireleaf Festival! The gates open at exactly 8:00 AM our time, but feel free to show up any time through the weekend - we've got events planned all throughout!

If you're interested in hosting a food truck, running a stand at the craft fair (even if it's not a craft specifically), signing up for the Fireleaf Festival Bake-Off, running an educational workshop, or hosting a live performance, you'll be able to right until the start of the festival (maybe even later, if you ask nicely)! Unfortunately, the Battles Under the Big Tree Tournament's signups are closed, but don't let that stop you from battling on the court any other time! It's right smack dab in the center of town, so you're sure to see it!

I want to attend the Fortree Fireleaf Festival, but how would I get there?

If you're not based in Hoenn, it can be difficult to find your way to Fortree City, especially since Hoenn's not exactly known for it's non-Pokémon transportation. However, it might be a little bit easier to make it to the festival than you think! Here are a few ways to get there in time for the gates to open:

It's worth mentioning first off that there ARE airports on either side of Fortree City - there's one in Mauville City, and another in Lilycove. However, the trek there can be arduous, especially carrying luggage.

If you want to take the Routes to Fortree City, for an extra fee you can have your gear Pelipper-delivered! From there, it'll only be about half a day's travel, (shorter with a bike,) and you'll be able to see the sights in whichever city you chose to land in.

If you don't own a flying Ride Pokémon and you're already in Hoenn, you may be able to use one of the city's Ride Pokémon - if you're Surfing, you'll be riding a Tentacruel or Gyarados, and if you're Flying, you'll most likely be riding a Swellow, Altaria, or even a Salamence!

Hopefully a better understanding of the Hoenn transportation systems will make it easier to get here! Remember the festival will run from Friday, October 13 (spooky!) to Sunday, October 15! See our pinned post for more information! Hope to see you there!

I want to attend the Fortree Fireleaf Festival, but where would I stay?

We understand there are several reasons people might not want to attend the Fortree Fireleaf Festival, and that's okay! However, some of these reasons are simple issues that are hard to fix, and that's where we come in!

We'll shine a light on a few of the best places to stay in the city to hopefully make your decision a little easier!

Looking for something cheap, fun, and exciting? Try camping! Fortree has a wonderful campsite, and the cost of entry is cheaper now than ever! Sleep under the stars, sit around the fire, and live out the outdoorsy cliche of your dreams! Remember to pack the Super Repels, though!

If outside's not your deal and you can pay a bit more, look at the Spinnda, run by Eloise Gardner, a longtime resident of Fortree City! This cozy little inn looks tiny but can hold way more than you think! There's a fireplace for friends to gather, and, if you play your cards right, Eloise might treat you to some of her famous cocoa.

Looking to bring along a family, or just a fan of tricks and puzzles? Visit Kecleon's Cabin for a one-of-a-kind experience! Run by a former Trick Master, each room in Kecleon's Cabin has a secret surprise, from toys and candy hidden in the wall tiles to a secret room behind a bookshelf! It's a great place to bring your kids or general fun enjoyers.

Finally, we have the Skyline Hotel! This experience is premium in every sense of the word - a gorgeous view of the city, five luxurious floors, and every amenity imaginable, the bill might be high, but the experience is incomparable! The best part is, we can't say anything bad about the place! The owners live in Mauville, but they've made a profound impact on the community - even if they never come to visit, they show their love by creating... well, jobs is a stretch. The hotel has overcame so many obstacles to be where it is today, like environmental protections and protests! It really brings the community together. Hahahahaha!
