PAIR OF BROWN SNAKES IN KITTY LITTER TRAY. So as Karen was cleaning out her kitty litter last night in Warrandyte, she left the tray and forgot about it half way through as some newspaper fell and covered the tray. This morning Karen went to go finish the job and upon lifting up the newspaper found this site. She promptly put the newspaper back and called out The Snake Hunter. Showing up in quick time as I was swimming in Warrandyte River with Star the border collie, I showed up slightly damp, and removed said paper and found 2 brown snakes. GOOD NEWS STORY - A BIG THANK YOU TO MARK FROM DAISY THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER Yesterday was a big scare for Daisy's mum Melissa after she saw her favourite Golden retriever fighting a brown snake. After I got the call I arrived in minutes and captured the brown snake. Even though Daisy showed no symptoms, Melissa did the right thing: 1. Immediately take your dog to a vet if you SUSPECT a snake Bite. 2. Bring $$$ I got a message later to say Daisy was all good after many blood tests and I went to visit her and Daisy thanked me with big kisses! Daisy's mum and I are now taling Canine Snake Avoidance. BIG THANK YOU TO AISHAH! After I worked until 4am, Aishah stepped up today to: Train 3 dogs in Snake Avoidance. Then following caught snakes in: 1. Doreen in riverstone estate 2. Doreen near a school on laurimer area. 3., Diamond Creek in the front yard. 4. Hurstbridge just off Main Rd 5. Epping near the shopping centre 6. Doreen where a snake but a dog near Shoal circuit She also cooked her sisters and I breakfast lunch and dinner and Aishah also did the week's shopping all so I could rest for a bit. I WARNED HUME CITY COUNCIL & THEY DIDNT LISTEN I repeatedly warned Hume City Council that their current policies in place for snake catching would get someone or an animal seriously hurt or killed. Their response to one of my many email complaints about this matter was quote: "The Hume website outlines the various ways that customers can contact Council." Then on Monday, I got a call out at 1.30pm and told the Hume resident to call the Hume council as they're suppose to provide a service. By 4pm, the matter was not dealt with by Council. At that time, I again was called to attend from residents so I did, and when I arrived I caught the snake in 2 minutes. But in the 2.5 hour delay, a beautiful family dog was bitten and is now dead, the family has an enormous vet bill over $10,000 and a man was at risk trying to try to deal with the snake and ALL of this could have been prevented. I have copies of emails of me attempting to contact the council about this. If you see a snake, at this stage just call me directly until Hume fix this: 0403875409. STAR AND A STAR FISH Hi everyone, Aishah here again. Here is dad after catching snakes all day in 37 degree heat. He is taking a quick nap before the night time snakes start which will go into your homes and he will be working all night. While everyone is in air conditioning, at the beach, pool or relaxing, dad: 1. Moves large piles of blue stone in direct sunlight to get a brown snake in mill park near DFO. 2. Move huge quantities of firewood to get a tiger snake in Diamond Creek just off Phipps Cres. 3. Crawls under houses in Warrandyte near the shops and moves hard rubbish to get snakes 4. Climbs into a roof in Park orchard where it is extremely hot to get a tiger snake. 5. Searches gardens under rocks, in long grass and weeds with Star to find snakes all over Melbourne. 6. Takes multiple calls each day from people who tell him they saw a snake last week and want him to do something about it. 7. Runs Canine Snake Avoidance business. 8. Handles migration clients on the phone always asking for thir visa 9. Looks after my sisters and I as a single dad. 10. Between Snake call outs feeds and water the animals. 11. Searched for a brown snake in Mill Park just near Rmit. 12. Removes brown snakes in hot sheds after pulling out all the gardening equipment. 13. Tries to stay hydrated. Everyone sees dad as The Snake Hunter. I see a single dad tirelessly raising his daughters and trying to provide for them, serving the community and rescuing snakes.
