Still one of my favorites… sadly it hits different. 😭

I feel like I’m still not over it. I’ve probably spent $150 on merch since the announcement. I mean… there will be no more merch after this, I have to scoop it up, you know?

“Movie News”

Okay, that last picture may be my favorite I’ve ever taken for this series.  Their poses are just too perfect, better than I imagined!

And the movie.  Moviemoviemovie.  What can I say that hasn’t already been said? (I should have made this yesterday.  All the other tumblrs were making things yesterday. I’m so behind!)

One more thing!  I spent my afternoon linking all the Nendo photosets together!  Now you can navigate them much more easily, especially if you’re new to my blog.  If anyone actually tries it out from the beginning, will you let me know how it goes in the comments of this post?  I’m worried about dead ends, or getting people stuck in a time loop or something.

I haven’t been active in the fandom, but I still check in. I let my Nendoroids gather dust, but I still proudly display them on my bookshelf. I rarely read fanfiction, but I still seek out merch.

Yuri on Ice isn’t part of my day to day life anymore, but I still feel so hurt over today’s announcement.

“Christmas Lights”

Oh, the shenanigans when Phichit is involved.

In case you don’t recognize the tree in this one, it was used in my first comic almost two years ago (one day late, what is wrong with me??).  I was sending some pictures of my new Victor Nendo to a friend when I saw the tree sitting on the counter (it was full of chocolates from a trip to France my parents had taken) and inspiration struck.  And Nendos on Ice was born!  Of course I’ve saved the tree and I pull it out every year.  You can read my series all the way from the beginning down below if you haven’t seen my first comic before.

“Third Shopping Spree”

Someone out there made a custom Chris Nendo and for the life of me, I can’t find evidence that it exists. So if that person’s reading this, I’m sorry, I really wanted to link you but I can’t remember where I saw those pics.  Also he’s beautiful and you’re amazing.

“The Official Tour”

So... it’s been, like, eight months... what’d I miss?

As I mentioned in an ask a few days ago, I’ve fallen out of the fandom, and that’s part of why I’ve stopped posting. But I’m going to Skate America next week and Japan two weeks after that, so it seemed like a good time to post again. It’s a real possibility that you may get four or five comics out of me in the next month and then I’ll disappear again. 😂

Even though Phichit and Otabek aren’t really new anymore, I decided to pick up right where the comics left off. I think a lot of people find the blog and binge read it all in order (which, kudos to you, that’s a pretty decent time investment) or in reverse order (barbarians!), so this will make the most sense in the long run.

So since I’ll have some extra time next week during zamboni breaks, help me rekindle my love for YoI and the community. Comment on this post the best fanfic you’ve read that’s been published in the last six months!

Yeah, I’ve fallen out of the fandom a bit. There’s a lot of life stuff that’s been going on too: I moved so the Nendos were packed up for like a month, I’ve been working a ton, and I’m hitting some major milestones in my relationship. So life has been busy, but mostly it’s the fandom thing. I barely even get on Discord anymore.

I do have some fandom-y stuff coming up, though! I’m going to Skate America next week with a few online friends who expressed interest in me bringing the little guys along, and a week after that I’m going back to Japan and I usually bring the Nendos there too. So there’s some chance of new content as I focus a little more on YoI in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for reaching out. I’ll admit part of my apprehension about rekindling the blog is that I don’t know how many people are still active in the fandom enough to care. But every time I get a notification that someone liked or reblogged something, I smile at my phone, so thanks to everyone who still interacts here.

To sum up, I’d say this blog is alive but sleeping. I still love YoI and my Nendos, it’s just hard to prioritize them when my mind is on other things. Hopefully I’ll find a little motivation in the next couple weeks, but if not, you can definitely expect more content when the movie finally comes out. 😊

This is Otabek’s debut on Nendos on Ice, but it’s also the debut of Yurio’s smiling face.  I didn’t intend to withhold it for so long, but I never really had a clue of how I wanted to use it and eventually it was like... “Well, it’s been this long.  Might as well save it for Otabek.”  But now that they’re together, I think we’ll be seeing it a lot more often!
