Anyway, daily reminder from a culturally isolated Romani person.
Gypsy does not mean wanderer.
It literally means âpeople from egyptâ or similar, as europeans believed Romani people were from Egypt. It has become known similar to nomad due to how our ancestors have been forced to be nomadic due to racism and ostracization, but it is a SLUR.
Romani people are STILL being forcibly sterilized.
Romani people are STILL being forced into ghettos.
Romani people are still facing violence and danger in countless European countries- and recently, Iâve seen the beginnings of the extremes in the United States.
Have a little fucking respect and DONâT USE A SLUR THATâS BEEN USED FOR CENTURIES AGAINST US.
And for the love of whateverâs up there, ESPECIALLY do not use it to describe your witchcraft. It is playing on the âmagic gypsyâ trope, and is EXTREMELY insulting.
non romani people, please reblog this.
#fun fact if u follow this blog that means u follow a rroma person who does not want u to use 'gypsy' !#ever !#not when ur talking about me and not when you mean ' free spirited wanderer '#or however else you want to try to erase us so you can use a slur against us !#its not yours to use !#also if youre not rromani then ur 'gadje' thats what its called lmao#idk if yall can call yourselves that but thats what we call you#psa#gypsy#romani

I was checking out at Walmart, and as I was reaching for my bags I said, âHappy Holidays!â And the cashier leaned in like she was sharing a secret and said âMerry Christmas.â So I smiled politely and said, âBlessed Yule!â And the look that spread across her face, you would have thought Iâd literally stolen Christmas from her. If youâre going to make a point of wishing me a happy whatever-you-celebrate, Iâm going to make a point of wishing you a happy whatever-I-celebrate, and if you think thatâs wrong you should consider getting âhypocriteâ tattooed across your forehead.

How/do you usually read reversals? Iâve found a couple different methods, but havenât been able to find one that ~feels~ right, if that makes sense?
 thank you for asking!
reversals can indicate so many things, and it often depends on the card. however, learning a reversed meaning for each card is a lot to deal with, so there are some tricks that you can learn to help you until you gain an intuitive knowledge of each card.
BLOCKAGES
this is quite a simple one. take the energies or meanings of the card youâre reading, and view them as blocked. for example, Death reversed. the querentâs soul could be in desperate need of a rebirth or change of some kind, but thereâs something blocking the way. of course, draw another card to clarify what that blockage is if you need to!
OPPOSITES
this is one that can be quite useful, but depending on the context it may not fit the situation. itâs simply the complete opposite of what the upright version would be! take the Two of Cups - passion, love and excitement. reversed, it could mean that thereâs no passion, love has been lost and itâs best to move on from the connection.Â
REVERSED VIBES
i wasnât sure what to call this one, but iâll explain it again with the Two of Cups. while upright, the relationship or connection could be healthy and full of romantic spark, reversed it could mean an obsessive or toxic relationship.
A DIFFERENT PERSON
if the reading involves the querent and someone else, or thereâs clearly someone else involved in the situation, a reversed card could indicate energies surrounding that person. for example, take the Chariot reversed. if we take the context of a relationship again, this would indicate that the querentâs partner is moving forward very quickly without regard to how the querent feels, and concentrating on themselves rather than evolving the relationship with the querent by their side.Â
ENERGIES OUT VS ENERGIES IN
when i used to do my Good Vibes readings, i used reversed cards to indicate energies that the querent gave off to other people, or how they helped others in some way. while the Queen of Pentacles upright could have indicated that they were good at calming themselves down and finding stability in their life no matter what was thrown their way, reversed it could mean that they were a rock, a pillar of support, in other peopleâs lives.Â
LESS ENERGY
a reversal can often indicate that the issues facing the querent arenât as strong as they were before. for example, the Three of Swords reversed shows that the heartbreak they experienced in the past now has a lesser hold on their heart, allowing them to move forward with a lighter weight on their shoulders.Â
INTERNAL VS EXTERNAL
kind of like the in vs out method, a reversed card can symbolise that the energies of the card are being directed inwards. take the Wheel of Fortune. upright it can mean that luck is finally turning, a run of good events will come into the querents life and a more positive phase of life is upon them. however, reversed it could show that the querentâs own views on how they live their life is changing - theyâre transforming themself into a better person through acceptance and understanding.Â
honestly it all depends on the situation and the intuition you have over the reading. trust yourself to know which method applies to which situation, as your intuition in a reading guides you more than you realise! apologies for the long post, i hope this helps!Â

reminder:
tarot cards have set meanings, yes, but each deck has different depictions that change the meaning slightly (colors, images, directions, etc. can change the way it is interpreted), and your intuition should influence the reading. your first interpretation of the cards is what your gut is telling you. trust it. there are many ways to interpret any set of cards you draw, so listen to that little voice in your head. it knows best.

I used to do magic when shit hit the fan in my mundane life. Now I do regular magic to ensure shit never hits the fan. Doesnât even come close.
Something it took me a long time to learn: wealth magic for financial stability is not born out of greed and is very necessary to the contemporary magician/witch. Donât neglect it.

A Few Simple Curses
When in the public vicinity of your target, be inconspicuous and:
Look towards them and cut/break a hair tie (or rubber band) to make it hard for them to hold something back in public (ex: their true self, or if you want to be literal, their hair on a humid day)
Lay your hands on a table or similar surface and channel all the things you want to express into a pipeline of energy. Send it to them and cut the pipeline off immediately.
Tap out your intention in Morse code (ex: say "hex ex" over and over again with energy and intent behind each tap)
If they carry a bag, create a "magnetic" force of energy to attract bad luck to the bearer and visualize it attaching itself to the bag.
To weaken their immune system, get a tissue and write their name onto it. Fold it in a way that reflects the opposite creases it was pulled out with. Make it as small as possible. Blow your nose into it if that isn't too strange for you. It will send off your sickness or negative energy as well, so it's a win-win.
Break an old pencil to shatter their stability. Throw it away in the public trashcan nearest to them.
Spell their name in dirt, dirty snow, gravel, or road grit. Leave it in a high traffic area to get pounded into the ground.
Devise a simple but unique gesture to use as a way to trigger a curse. When their back is facing you, discretely make it and direct energy towards them. Keep this gesture a secret.
Put a very small amount of lotion and sand in a container. Mix it well, and slather over an image of your target. This is to have them wounded after doing or receiving something they expected to be pleasant.
If you live in the home of your target:
Switch their cereal box around as well as any other things they often eat. Moving them is good enough, but adding intent could turn their whole day into a tizzy. Do not meddle with the food contents!!!!
Put an energetic sigil on their door to bring the occupant bad luck. Ward yourself accordingly.
If you compost, bury them to become useful fuel via lovely worms by shaping a poppet of them out of veggies and other organic materials. It would be wise to use foods that they enjoy and/or ate other pieces of, but a general poppet with the right intent will do its job just as well.
Draw a map of your home and highlight their bedroom. Ward your home well, but leave this space completely open. Remove protective energy from there to leave them vulnerable.
If you don't see your target on a daily or regular basis:
Write your target's full name (and any identifying info) on your garbage bin (or write their name and info onto paper, spit on it, and throw it in).
Flip a well wishes card inside out and black out the positive words. Add your own, mark it with their name, info, and/or photo, and then seal it in an envelope for safe "delivery". Throw this away.

One of the best things about withcraft is how it like... just becomes real.
Like all you have to do is say oh witchcraft looks fun, this stuff might help me, this MIGHT be real... and slowly it starts to prove itself.
I'm not even talking like, i cast this spell for confidence and now I'm more confident.
I mean how when our room was heavy with negative energy from my roommate's anxiety attacks and I decided we couldn't wait to make the cleansing spray so i put cleansing sigils on post it notes around the room near vents and windows, and then did some energy work to gather the energy on her side of the room and throw it out the window, andmy roommate who had been hiding in the corner poked her head up and said it felt better.
But even more than that I mean when later that night one of the cleansing sigil post its unstuck from the wall and floated across the room to stick itself to my roommate lying in her bed.
I also mean when I hear those stories where I'm like yeah you definitely qent on the astral plane.
And when I do a tarot reading to an almost strangerwho thought it'd just be a fun activity and ended up staring at the table in bewilderment because it pinpointed exactly what was happening in his life--even when as i was reading i was sure i was spewing bullshit.
I'm talking about the stories I hear about empaths, about clairvoyance, about energy, divination, astral plane, deities.
There's times I doubt how real this stuff is, where I'm like this is just aesthetic and placebo effect... and then i hear a story or something happens and I'm just like yeah... this is real. This is happening.
It's like as soon as you offer to the universe (or whatever your beliefs) a willingness to connect, an acceptance that maybe you can communicate with it, it's voice becomes louder and more obvious and you can't deny it like you once could.
Know what I mean?

six days of mabon
fallen leaves, apples, sweaters, pumpkins and candy, cooler weather⌠who doesnât love autumn? the palette changes colors as we do change our routine too. this is a compilation of easy activities related to Mabon, or the Autumn Equinox
đ celebrating the Second Harvest
if someone were to ask me what is the fruit of Mabon, i would undoubtedly say itâs the apple. treat yourself with one, go pinking some if you are able to do so. if you arenât, fear not, for you can always dedicate this day to decorate your house or altar and yourself, as always;
đ count your blessings
mother nature is essential not only for followers of Pagan religions, but for everyone really. who doesnât enjoy a nice stroll in the park? i would seize the opportunity to count my blessings while walking quietly, for Mabon is after all, the witchesâ Thanksgiving. as the daytime is equal to nighttime now, i recommend starting when the sunset begins and finishing your walk when itâs already dark;
đ fallen leavesâ magic
youâve already give thanks for all you have, but this is also a time to reflect on what your life is lacking. do you have to work on improving something about yourself? is there anything youâve wanted to do for ages but have always left because you were afraid? maybe performing a little spell can give you a boost of energy and confidence. if you wish to do so, this would be the perfect day to start making the autumnal charm spell i wrote, âitâs for general good luck and prosperity âbut you can always perform a spell of your choice and focus on something specific. just remember, a little bit of magic cannot do all the work for you;
đ the Mabon pique-nique
seasonal food is delicious, even more if youâre cooking your own harvested aliments. those apples you picked on the first day? turn them into a pie! but have you tried sharing that homemade apple pie with a friend, in the woods? iâm sure that sounds a lot more interesting now. thatâs the activity for today, going on a picnic with your best friends;
đ scarecrows & poppets
scarecrows are autumn classics, whether it be in scary movies or family traditions, they are always present and also fun to make. before the actual Autumn Equinox, whatâs best than to make a scarecrow with a blessing? not to scare crows away, but rather evil spirits. furthermore, if you chose to perform my autumnal charm spell, this is the day to place the magical charm inside the poppet or scarecrow you made;
đ the Equinox ritual
the last day is always consecrated to contacting with oneâs deities through a ritual of your choice. ask for their blessing on the season thatâs to come, offer them some seasonal goodies, and iâm sure this autumn will be bountiful for you;
much love âĄ
