Shout out to fanfic writers who write short fanfics.
Shout out to fanfic writers who don’t write often.

Black fanfiction fuckin matters
Wassup people! I have some shit to say.📢📢📣📣
RACE IN FANCULTURE IS FUCKING IMPORTANT AND HERE’S THE FUCK WHY GODDAMNIT!
PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES FOR ONCE.
As you all probably already know fanfiction and fandom culture is a very nish thing. Not that many people are into it as much as we are and in the real world it gets pretty lonely.😭😌😖😔
Normal people seem to regard it as a snooze fest 😴 and when we try to talk about it they regard it with the same apathy and disinterest as a normal person would a nerd trying explain nerd culture to a regular person. Or worse. A sporty outdoorsy person. Sometimes it’s physically painful to try😫😫😫😫
Do you have any fucking idea how hard it is to explain what fanfiction is to other people? Let alone fanculture?
Where do we even begin? What the fuck do you say?
“Hi! I’m a nerd and sometimes I plagerise and bastardise my favorite stories from pop culture. Books, Movies, Plays, TV series, Anime, manga, comics, cartoons even! Nothing is safe from us.” Is what you’ll say, “We basterdise the stories so fucking much shit is unrecognizable! Fanculture is so fucking liberal and freeing, there’s a story for fucking everything! There’s:
Ploly fics
Gay fics
Incest fics
Straight fics
Pansexual fics
Gender Bender fics
Gender switch fics
Time travel fics
Age play fics
Alpha Beta Omega Dynamics…
And so much fucking more. Wanna join?😏😏😏”
*person starts looking at you wierdly and slowly walks away cause he’s freaked out.*
We seem to be so free and liberal on the sexual spectrum to a point were it’s borderline disturbing.😒😒
I mean really guys? Incest fics? Age play fics that’s borderline straight up pedophilia😷😷😶😶😵😵
but really i’m not gonna judge. I know that you guys aren’t really that freaky or approving of shit like that in real life. Right guys?😅😅😅 right😶😶😶😷😰
But i’m digressing away from the point.😄😅
What I’m trying to say is that I’m a straight black Zulu girl that lives in South Africa and sometimes fucking all the time really I feel lonely.
You already have an idea on how hard it is trying to explain fan culture to normal people. It’s like you trying to explain say… the concept of Instagram or… I don’t know Facebook to a person over 70.
“But why do you need to keep updating your status? Why are people so invested in knowing that you’re mood is ‘feeling good vibez?’ and why do you spell it with a Z?” Is what your grandmother would say if you tried.😰😰 shit’s tirering.
Now people I need ya’ll to put yourselves in MY shoes. It’s hard being a nerd. It’s even harder being a black nerd. And it’s hardest being a black girl nerd.😞😒
As a normal white dude can find community and friendship with other white dude nerds. Same goes for white girls. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Nothing at fucking all. Chill white people don’t freak out i’m not here to guilt you and shit😉
But black people on the other hand? Not so much. Nerd culture is still seen as primarily white people stuff and for good reason. There are too many heroes villains and stories that feel entirely too white and male. And when they’re not run they’re white and female.😕😐
I call this the Superman and Wonder woman effect.
Superman is expected to be enough for all boys everywhere even little black boys and black girls that look nothing like him and when black girls call out the bullshit we’re pointed towards the direction of Wonder woman and they expect all us melinated, thicc, kinky haired princesses and queens to feel fully represented in the willowy white form of Wonder woman and her star spangled pantied flat ass.
When we say it’s not enough people got the fucking nerve to say WE’RE the racist ones for not being satisfied and wanting more. Wanting someone that looked like us.
Whenever I try to bring this up white people get defensive real fucking quick. They tell me to “write it myself” or they give me self insert and oc stories where they are like [insert skin colour here] or [insert hair texture here] and feel that’s enough.😑😑
It’s not fucking enough!😬😠😡
You would never tell someone who writes for LGBTQIAP+ pairings to feel satisfied whith the sexuality of ONE gay character. You wouldn’t expect lesbians, transgenders, queers and all polies to feel contempt and complete with that ONE GAY MALE CHARACTER. So how do you expect us black girls and other minorities to feel happy and fully represented with the “Wonder woman” archetype?
Imagine if all fanfiction stories featured straight relationships? Imagine if all the main characters, OCs and self inserts were white men? Can you imagine how cringy it would be as a girl who identifies as a female reading a self insert fic and you have to read the sentence:
“Your lover looked at you as he stroked your 7 inch cock”
When you don’t have a fucking cock? And don’t want one? And just aren’t into this? But you can’t just go away and read another story because there are no other fucking stories?
That’s how I fucking feel.
I’m tired. I’m so fucking tired of reading sentences like, “he ran his fingers through your silky blonde hair” when I have thick tight kinky black African curled or even worse yet my hair has just been braided into cornrows and this author’s writing about fucking scalp massages and carresses.😑😕😐
I’m tired of sentences that go into deep detailed descriptions of yours, (the readers) body and how, soft, thin, and small you are. About how you have milky, creamy white skin. Descriptions of pink nipples.😕
Now I’m not telling you to stop writing fics featuring white girls if you are a white girl. I’m not saying story sucks ass because of that but have you ever thought about collaborating with black fanfic writers?
And not just the writers. The fan artists too! The reblogers the reviewers, the posters and even the people that do absolutely nothing but visit and like. We all need to do something.
I mean seriously guys. You can write stories about, incest, gender play, gender benders, omegaverse, age play and fucking time travel but not one of you has considered writing a story about a cute little brown girl? Not one of you?
Now shout out to all the black fanfic writers that are doing fucking something about it. You’re work has not gone on unnoticed. I see you!😆😊😀😁 and y'all make me so fucking happy you give !e tears of joy😂😂😂😂😂
Fucking high five to all of you bad bitches with the melanin! May Oshun bless you all with coco butter, Shea butte, coconut butter all the FUCKING BUTTERS, Fenty beauty, fenty savage a free tidal subscription and endless data bundles so you can all keep doing god’s work.
Later i’m going to keep reblogging this and other posts like these and I’ll keep adding more names, tags and links to other tumblrs of colour and people who wright for black girls.
I’m starting a post in series and i’m calling it “How to Black” for all you white and non-black authors that wanna help contribute. Check out the tag ‘how to black’ on my blog if you wanna get started.
I suggest that you do because many white people have tried to write for black characters and !any have not only failed but have produced some pretty offensive shit.

Esme really showed up and accepted Carlisle as himself for the first time in his very long life. When they were getting to know each other she asked him all kinds of questions about himself and he happily told her story after story about his work as a doctor, about Edward, even bits and pieces of his father that he could remember. Esme listened to those stories happily, giving him her full attention but when he was finished talking she smiled softly and said “Carlisle, I asked about you”.
When it became clear that he was struggling to come up with something to tell her she leaned forward with a smile on her face and said “Let me guess”.
Carlisle nodded because Lord knew he needs a few moments to think.
She watched him for a moment before she began “You…love to read. Both fiction and nonfiction because although you love science and math and facts, you’re a romantic at heart. You read fiction to tend to that part of yourself. You love to run as fast as you can because even after years as a vampire, it still excites you. You love to care for others because it’s all you’ve ever known. You never had someone to care for you the way you deserve.”
And Carlisle swears he can feel his still heart beating again because how did she manage to surprise him daily? How did she manage to understand him better than he understood himself? She’d only been with them for a few months but she managed to decipher his heart, a remarkable feat that Carlisle himself hadn’t been able to do.
