Unpopular Synastry Opinions (From the Voice of Pain)
You don’t have to agree. This is my intuitive perspective.
• One bad aspect in synastry can absolutely ruin a connection. Imagine adding too much baking soda to your cookies—“but it’s just one ingredient,” they say. And yet, the entire batch turns out bad. It’s not just free will. Most relationships have a 99% chance of flopping.
• Squares in synastry bring passion. But let’s not romanticize that. Passion can lead to anger, obsession, control issues, and using physical intimacy as a bandage. If squares in a birth chart can symbolize childhood struggles and internal conflict, why pretend they’re magical in relationship charts?
• Oppositions are said to offer growth. But how do opposites truly grow together? Ever met two people with fundamentally different beliefs who actually grew from their differences? Rarely. Most of the time, it’s arguing, debating, criticism, misunderstanding, or frustration. Maybe 10% of people are evolved enough to find growth in conflict.
• 8th house synastry is romanticized, but most people can’t handle it. It’s like a haunted house—seductive and intense. But only a few want to stay. Most are just there for the thrill.
• 7th house synastry might as well be called the Neptune house. It’s glitter and gold, idealism, projection, daydreams. You think of them constantly, imagine a future—and then you’re crushed by the weight of disillusionment.
• Saturn in synastry doesn’t feel like glue. It feels like weight. It’s not longevity—it’s where you’ll suffer, feel restricted, and repeat karmic cycles with your person.
• Moon aspects in synastry are overrated. What about Jupiter? If you can’t laugh, grow, or feel expansive joy with someone, then emotional resonance alone isn’t enough.
• 11th house synastry means they see a future with you, but often miss the beauty and tenderness of now.
• Most synastry charts are a mess. Add Chiron, Pluto, Saturn, and the Nodes—and you’ll quickly realize that relationships are often spiritual assignments disguised as love stories.
• I used to think Mercury synastry was everything. But what’s the point of good communication if the rest of the chart is full of tension? It just becomes a series of conversations that never resolve anything.
• Venus in synastry reflects love languages. Harsh aspects to Venus? You’ll likely feel unloved, unappreciated, or unseen. Positive aspects? They touch you in the way your heart understands.
• Chiron in synastry is dangerous. This is where I believe domestic violence can emerge. Don’t touch someone’s wounds unless you intend to be gentle. Deeply gentle.
• Lilith in synastry is volatile. Also a possible portal to domestic violence. If it’s not a positive connection, rage can emerge—primal, destructive, and terrifying.
• Mars in synastry? Often a planet of passive aggression, conflict, dominance, and surface-level sex. Not the kind that makes you feel cherished. More like a battleground.
• Pluto synastry is terrifying. It drags trauma to the surface and exposes your darkest layers. It can only work if both people are deeply healed. Otherwise, it becomes toxic or even abusive.
• People downplay Sun sign compatibility, but the Sun is your core identity. If someone attacks that part of you, it cuts the deepest. Harsh Sun aspects in synastry lead to competition, criticism, and the erosion of self-worth.
• The Vertex shows fated meetings. It says: you were meant to meet this person. The North Node, however, speaks of destiny with conditions—it says: this person can only come into your life once you start aligning with your soul’s purpose.
• Uranus in synastry absolutely sucks. It’s erratic, chaotic, unstable. Who wants love that strikes like lightning and disappears just as fast? Even positively aspected, it’s unpredictable. Sudden beginnings often mean sudden endings.
• Neptune aspects in synastry often appear in connections with emotional avoidance. One person is trying to offer love—while the Neptune person distorts it, disappears into fantasy, or becomes evasive. It’s a fog. The Neptune person is usually the one who avoids.
• Now you’re wondering, where is the love? True love in synastry blooms through Jupiter. Jupiter with Venus, Moon, Sun, and Mercury—that’s where love expands. That’s the laughter, the ease, the grace. Positive Jupiter aspects are what make relationships feel light, safe, and enduring.
• You know what kind of relationships are karmic? The ones with Saturn, Pluto, Chiron, and the South Node. Saturn says: you made someone suffer—now you suffer. Pluto says: you brought darkness—now you face it. Chiron says: you caused deep pain—now you’re feeling that same ache. South Node? You’ve shared a past life—maybe even a sexual one. There’s unfinished business.
• If you’re in a karmic relationship, don’t move in together. Not until healing has taken place. Otherwise, you’ll be living in a personal version of hell.
• Most people need healing. Without it, their relationships will be wrecked—by projection, wounding, avoidance, or power games.
• Sun sign compatibility is crucial for water and fire signs. Water sign Suns wrap emotion around their identity, and fire sign Suns are fueled by passion and ego. These signs need to feel seen and aligned to thrive in love.
• If you have a natal Moon in air or earth, don’t stress too much about Moon synastry. Focus on Mercury and Venus—because for you, love language and communication matter more than emotional resonance.
• People with Saturn-heavy charts need to heal before entering relationships. Otherwise, they’ll bring heaviness, pessimism, and emotional burdens into the connection. They will unintentionally cause suffering.
• Harsh truth: certain ascendants bring challenges in love.
• Capricorn Rising: emotionally avoidant and cold
• Scorpio Rising: guarded with a deep need for control
• Gemini Rising: inconsistent and hard to pin down
• Aries Rising: self-serving and dominant
• Virgo Rising: controlling and struggles with vulnerability
• Aquarius Rising: detached and unpredictable
• If you crave words of affirmation, look for Mercury-Venus aspects. Without that connection, you may never feel truly seen or valued through words.
• And please—consider element compatibility.
If you’re water-heavy, be cautious with air-heavy charts. Air will rationalize your emotions, detach from your depth, and leave you spinning.
Example: A Cancer Sun with a Scorpio Sun sounds great, until the Scorpio has an air-dominant chart. Then it becomes a battlefield of unmet needs and emotional misfires.

Astro synastry observervations 1
Disclaimer: These observation are the niche ways in which a placement may manifest, it is the way I’ve noticed it in others, the people around me, celebrities, myself and in studies. It is not the doctrine wide broad way the placement occurs for everyone.
Tumblr media
Chiron conjunct ascendant in synastry can make the Chiron person avoid the Asc person as much as possible, whether it be eye contact or conversation, just being near the ASC person. They also treat the Asc person differently to everyone else, almost like they’re afraid of them or something.
Moon conjunct sun in synastry has beautiful reputation of being felt seen but it also can be negative, it can make the sun person believe they know everything about moon person like how they feel, giving them unwanted advice and thinking they understand the moon person well, all while the moon person feels extremely misunderstood by sun and mis represented and that their advice was useless. Sun person may even try and diagnose moon person because they feel like they have a special ability to know them
3rd house synastry can have you wanting to talk ALLLLL DAYYYY with that person. You can even end up having conversations with them in your head when they’re not even there imagining what they would say or what you could tell them. If mars is here, this is the person you practice how the conversation, debate or argument would have gone in the shower or something
Mars in 6th house overlay can make the house person view the normal basic things that Mars person does to be arousing. For an example if Mars is lightly playing with a stress ball, house person will find the way the ball is being held is really hot and want to be in its place or just find small things like this arousing.
Tumblr media
Venus conjunct Jupiter is the most beautiful placement for synastry in my opinion. Venus person has so much love for Jupiter and gives so much everyone can see how much they love Jupiter person, Jupiter’s presence alone can make Venus just sigh in awe. Venus is attracted to Jupiter persons optimism and luck especially concerning themes the house Jupiter lives in. Jupiter person can sometimes not even realise how much they are loved but just know they are appreciated by Venus. This placement to me really does personify pure type of love. These are the people who will do anything for Jupiter and Jupiter just wants to magnify Venus.
Your deepest romantic partners may have your birth city along their Venus line in Astrocartography.
When someone has a sign in Venus it doesn’t strictly mean they’ll only be attrattracted to that sign, but rather it’s the qualities that the sign has in other people
Noticed people who have someone’s Venus in their 8H the planet person can be so respectful to you and make sure that you are well looked after. I really like this dynamic and is my most favorite synastry placements.
Highly saturated 10H stellium in the composite chart can make the both of you unable to communicate to each other without a third party and for your relationship to be the main focus of your image, like you may have had someone else tell your partner that you liked them and that’s how you ended up as a couple, or you may gauge the importance of your relationship not on what you feel or think but- based on what others believe your relationship to be. If people say you two look cute together you will assume all is well between you both but if people say you’re terrible together even if you feel happy you will actually believe what others say your relationship is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moon in 5th house overlay will have moon person kicking their feet and giggling like a 13 year old with the house person. They can be the most delightful company to have, can be someone who you spent your childhood with or makes you feel like a child again.
Pluto in 12th house synastry can have Pluto person challenging house persons beliefs to an extent that they’re being disrespectful and forceful. They may degrade the house person for what they believe in, I’ve also noticed that when the Pluto is in sag they can act high and mighty over the 12th house person because sag rules wisdom and higher knowledge, because they’ve done the research they feel like they have the right to critique and degrade 12H belief system and ways of life. 12 house is very sensitive and HIDDEN area so the house person can find their behavior unwanted.
Venus in the 7th house synastry can really have the Venus person giving all they have believing they have found the IT person. ESPECIALLY IF THEIR VENUS IS CONJUNCT PARTNERS MARS. This is because Venus is in its home, native feels safe expressing their love and can feel like they’re meant for this person.
Tumblr media
Planets in the 12th house of the synastry chart shows what that person does to you behind your back. For an example Mercury here could indicate the person gossips about you, talks about you when you’re not there. Pluto here can indicate they power-trip or manipulate you without you knowing
Sun- can brag about you, take credit for your work, even say you piggy backed off of them, try to outshine you when you’re not around
Moon- can project their emotions, insecurities on you, feel a lot of emotions about you they dwell on privately, feel dependent on you but don’t show it to you ever, this is like the ex who keeps your clothes long after you break up. Or a friend who plays victim to others and tells their version of the story.
Mercury- analyse and critique you in private, share your secrets with others, discuss opinions about you that they don’t share with you directly
Venus- secretly idealize you, they may secretly have a crush on you, can even want to be you out of envy or admiration, secretly admires you. On the flip side can flirt and seduce you for malicious reasons without you realizing, like in those tv shows where the popular guy dates the weird girl as a dare
Mars- hold back a lot of anger, resentment and bitterness towards you, can be passive aggressive, this is like the Regina George burn book energy.. acting lovely and engaging in person but has so much malice within them you don’t know about, can push or trigger you to anger purposely to get a reaction out of you and you don’t know it
Jupiter- blocks you from getting praise, promotions, blessings, can hold back saying anything nice about you, force their values on you, can deep down feel superior or wiser than you so they subtly guide you to see things their way without being upfront about it, it’s like trying to emigrate into a new country and they bend you to their culture but no matter what you do they’ll never accept you
Saturn- can be very judgmental about you when you’re not there, can act like they literally don’t know you when interacting with others, this is that “I’m embarrassed of them” placement, like a private school student pretending they come from a rich family and ignoring their mother when she comes to pick them up in a Toyota, or a weird anime girl being bullied by her childhood friend because she didn’t want to be affiliated with the weird friends status. it can be very intentional where they try to make things harder for you and ostracize you form others.
Uranus- they literally will rebel against you, this is like a Heian period usurper, except you’re the king. Will challenge you, destabilize you, push you to rebel even, that’s what they do when you’re not around, they push your limits, even putting you into circumstances that you prefer to prepare for, this is like the friend that hosts a surprise birthday party or attempts one of those traumatic YouTube pranks on you like “I CHEATED ON MY WIFE PRANK 4K‼️”
Neptune- project qualities you don’t have onto you, treat you like a person but dehumanize or objectify you when you’re not there, can drug you, can mislead you, keep secrets withholding information to create confusion around their real intentions to you, this one screams situationship or someone who didn’t get access.
Pluto- can try to psychologically manipulate you, deprive and dominate, make you dependent and addicted to them without knowing, can be very envious of you, be possessive
Tumblr media
Neptune in person Bs 1st house can make the planet person fetishise the house person, especially if the person B has Neptune in their first house as well, since a Neptune conjunct Neptune synastry makes the planet person fantasise about the best qualities person B has and idealise them.
Mars in 3rd house synastry turns conversations into verbal sparring matches—sharp words, playful teasing, and debates that feel almost like foreplay. The Mars person’s energy can feel invigorating to the house person, but it can also come off as aggressive or argumentative. This placement often leads to mental tension and excitement, with both people constantly challenging each other’s ideas. It’s the kind of connection where you argue for hours, then end up laughing and feeling closer than ever.
Venus square Neptune, Venus person thinks Neptune is everything they’ve been looking for, like their ideal soulmate. They romanticise Neptune to the point of putting them on a pedestal, seeing beauty and perfection where it doesn’t exist. Meanwhile, the Neptune person might not even realize they’re misleading Venus—they’re just existing, but Venus is wrapped up in a fantasy. When the illusion breaks, Venus feels betrayed, like “How could you lie to me?” even though Neptune didn’t promise anything. Neptune might quietly leave Venus wondering, “Did I ever even know them?” There’s a reason why this placement is known as “rose-colored glasses”. I think it’s like when fans meet their favourite artists and they end up being different to the image they portray
Sun in the 6th house overlay can make the Sun person feel like they have a job to fix the house person. The Sun person might try to give the house person advice on everything: their health, routines, work habits, even their diet, like “Have you tried waking up earlier?” or “You’d feel better if you changed this.” The house person might appreciate it at first but eventually feel like the Sun person sees them as a project rather than a person. The Sun person, meanwhile, feels like they’re helping—they don’t realize they might come off as critical. This can also make the house person feel nervous or self-conscious around the Sun, like they’re constantly being evaluated and being around them feels like they’re at work and their neat freak boss is micromanaging.
Tumblr media
Venus in the 2nd house overlay makes the Venus person love the house person’s possessions, taste, and even their voice. Venus might compliment the house person’s things endlessly, like “You always dress so well,” or “You have the best taste in music.” There’s something about the house person’s values, style, or even their physical body that Venus finds irresistible. On the flip side, this can make the house person feel like Venus only cares about their surface-level qualities—like they’re being admired for what they have rather than who they are. This can turn into “I feel like you love my things, not me.”
Uranus in the 7th house overlay can feel like falling for someone you never expected to fall for. Uranus person brings an electric energy to the house person that feels exciting but unstable. The house person might feel like they can’t predict Uranus’ next move, which can be thrilling but also nerve-wracking. This is that “I’ve never met anyone like you” dynamic, where both people feel drawn to each other in a way that defies logic. Over time, the house person might feel like Uranus keeps them at arm’s length, refusing to commit or settle down.
Venus Sextile Mars Synastry is one of the sweetest aspects for physical and romantic attraction. Venus is naturally drawn to Mars, thinking “I like the way you move, the way you act—it excites me.” Mars, in return, feels appreciated and energized by Venus’ affection. There’s an effortless rhythm here: Venus brings charm and softness, while Mars adds drive and excitement. They both feel seen and desired without having to try too hard. Unlike harsher Venus-Mars aspects, the sextile creates a playful, flirty dynamic. Mars might tease Venus in a way that makes them blush, and Venus will respond with just enough sweetness to keep Mars coming back. It’s that “You don’t need to chase me; I’m already here” energy. This aspect is natural chemistry without tipping into tension.
Tumblr media
When Jupiter lands in someone’s 7th house, the house person feels like Jupiter brings luck, joy, and optimism into their relationships. The Jupiter person can make the house person feel like “Maybe love isn’t so bad after all,” as they bring warmth, generosity, and a sense of expansion to the house person’s idea of partnership. This is the placement where the Jupiter person sees so much potential in the house person, encouraging them to believe in themselves and their relationships. The house person might feel like Jupiter is their good luck charm—like everything is brighter when they’re together. Cons are that Jupiter might unintentionally make promises they can’t keep or come across as “too much” for the house person, overwhelming them with positivity or expectations. This placement often makes the relationship feel like it’s meant to be, as if Jupiter walked into the house person’s life just to show them what a good partnership can feel like.
Venus Square Jupiter screams “You’re too much, but I love it anyway.”This placement can feel like a rollercoaster of indulgence and excess. Venus sees Jupiter as someone greater-than-life, full of warmth and generosity, but also overwhelming at times. Venus might think “Do you really care about me, or are you just like this with everyone?” Whereas Jupiter can feel like Venus is too focused on minor details, like “Why can’t we just have fun without overthinking?” This placement often creates a dynamic where one person loves to give, spend, and shower the other with attention, but the other feels like it’s too much or misplaced. It can also lead to arguments about money or values—like one person wants to splurge, and the other wants to save. Despite the tension, there’s a lot of affection here; the challenge is in finding balance between excess and stability.
Mars in the 7th house makes the Mars person bring a lot of energy—both passionate and combative—into the house person’s relationships. Might find yourself asking why you both argue so much. The house person might feel like Mars is constantly challenging them, either pushing them to grow or picking fights over small things. Mars, meanwhile, feels like they’re just being honest, like “I’m trying to help you stand up for yourself.”This overlay can create a lot of sexual tension, as the house person feels both attracted to and frustrated by Mars’ directness. It’s the kind of dynamic where you argue one minute and make up the next, but if handled poorly, it can feel like constant friction in the relationship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mars in the 8th house overlay causes so much tension that never leaves the room, it’s intense and magnetic—the air feels heavier just from being around each other like a glance communicates more than intended, Mars is like the aggressor detective, house is the suspect in question, Mars will do everything to unveil house person but they can’t, it screams Sherlock and Moriarty energy. The house person can’t help but notice Mars, like “Why do I feel like you know all my secrets?” Mars person’s energy triggers something primal in the house person—they might feel exposed and aroused, but also a little uneasy, like Mars sees right through them. Mars, on the other hand, feels like the house person is a mystery they want to unravel. It’s the placement where even small gestures from Mars feel intimate, like brushing against their arm, and the house person thinks, “Do they know how much they’re affecting me?” This connection can lead to intense physical attraction, almost obsessive—where the two can’t stop thinking about each other even when they’re apart. But this is the 8th house, so there’s always the potential for power struggles, jealousy, and intensity that burns out.
Ascendant square mercury creates tension between two people, where Mercury person might say things that unintentionally rub the Ascendant person the wrong way. The Ascendant person might think “Why do they keep misunderstanding me?” while Mercury feels like they’re being perfectly clear. This aspect is common in relationships where you debate or bicker a lot, as Mercury analyzes and questions the Ascendant’s behavior or appearance. The Ascendant person can feel like Mercury doesn’t respect their way of expressing themselves, while Mercury gets frustrated by the Ascendant’s emotional reactions.
For Venus in the 10th House the Venus person brings beauty, charm, and social status to the house person’s public life. The house person might feel like Venus enhances their reputation, thinking “People admire me more when I’m with you.” This placement often creates relationships where one or both partners are seen as a “power couple,” with Venus boosting the house person’s image in career or social settings. On the negative side, the house person might feel like Venus is too focused on appearances, valuing the relationship for what it looks like rather than how it feels.

Unpopular Synastry Opinions (From the Voice of Pain) — Part 2
I don’t bite my tongue. So brace yourself.
• Conjunctions need to be talked about more in synastry.
You don’t want a conjunction with afflicted planets—Mars, Chiron, Saturn, Pluto, Lilith. These are harsh energies. For example, Mars conjunct Venus? Venus wants love and beauty. Mars wants dominance and aggression. That’s not sexy; that’s toxic. And it gets worse depending on the sign. In Libra, this same conjunction might look passive-aggressive—two people constantly undermining each other while smiling through gritted teeth.
Same with a Scorpio Moon conjunct Scorpio Moon—the Moon is emotional, and Scorpio is trauma-bond central. You don’t fall in love—you entangle. Be very careful with conjunctions. Study both planet and sign.
• I don’t give a shit about Moon connections if your dominant element contradicts it.
A Cancer Moon in a chart dominated by fire? Irrelevant. A Libra Moon in a water-drenched chart? Muted. The dominant element is more potent than your Moon. You can have Moon conjunct Moon with someone and still feel emotionally dismissed.
• Saturn in synastry is enough to run.
I don’t care what anyone says. Pain doesn’t make you stronger—releasing pain does. People say married couples have Saturn contacts. Yes, and many of them are enduring silent suffering. That’s not love, that’s survival. Our grandmothers called it “commitment.” I call it emotional imprisonment.
• North Node synastry is often the most imbalanced dynamic you’ve ever experienced.
It demands growth. And you know what most people do with growth? They fold. It’s one person accelerating while the other clings to the past. One outgrows, the other decays. You don’t always grow with your North Node synastry—you grow away from it.
• Stay away from Mars synastry if you’re sensitive or water-heavy.
Mars isn’t just sex. It’s dominance. Obsession. Possession. If their Mars aspects your Moon or Venus and they have a fire or earth-heavy chart? Run. Because they don’t want to love you—they want to own you.
• Pluto synastry is the hardest to leave.
Try leaving someone with Pluto contacts—you’ll trigger their deepest fears. Then what? Stalking. Harassment. Manipulation. Blackmail. Trauma bonding disguised as love. It’s not deep—it’s dangerous.
• 8th house overlays with someone who’s earth- or air-dominant?
They will emotionally avoid you. They’ll intellectualize what you feel. They’ll withdraw from the depth you crave. Don’t give 8th house intimacy to someone who’s allergic to emotional nakedness.
• Moon-Venus synastry sucks when your elements clash.
Think of it this way: the Venus person is loving, expressive, maybe even drenched in water energy. The Moon person, backed by air placements, doesn’t know how to give that nourishment back. Unbalanced. Heartbreaking. Disorienting.
• Neptune in synastry is sweet until you see clearly.
You thought it was spiritual? It was a dream. A fog. A lie. When you finally wake up from a Neptune illusion, you won’t just be sad—you’ll be furious.
Let’s talk aspects:
Trines are lifelines—especially when afflicted planets are involved.
Pluto-Venus?
Chiron-Sun?
Mars-Venus?
Mars-Moon?
These need ease. A trine can save your ass.
Even Saturn-Venus—if it’s going to show up, let it be a trine. Trines won’t erase the challenge, but they allow integration without devastation.
Sextiles are the REAL growth aspects.
Growth doesn’t come from opposition in synastry—it comes from compatibility with room to stretch. Sextiles are where the tools already exist; the work just needs to be done.
Mercury-Mercury? You learn to communicate.
Sun-Moon? You evolve in understanding.
Sextiles = fertile ground.
• Not all synastry is a blessing. Some will make you regress.
Some synastry is so unbalanced, you’re the healed one dealing with someone who hasn’t even started their journey. Be cautious. Love doesn’t require sacrifice—it requires alignment.
Signs to double-check in synastry ( OR YOU’LL BE CRYING FOR 30 DAYS & 30 NIGHTS)
• Libra: Harmony seekers, but too logical. Growth struggles in their passivity.
• Capricorn: Avoids emotional conflict. Escapes into work and distraction.
• Virgo: Dissects emotions like lab experiments. Vulnerability is their greatest struggle.
• Aries: Intense, bored easily. Emotionally inconsistent.
• Gemini: Commitment requires constant stimulation. Predictability repels them.
• Scorpio: More strategic than romantic. Love feels like a study.
• Aquarius: Romantic neglect is their blind spot. Detached. Prioritizes everything but you.
Houses that make it hard to leave: ( I’m talking break-up to make-up, Mercury rx and Venus rx bringing you back, calling off of no caller ID, stalking their social media, 1000 of apologies and make-up sex)
• 2nd: Possessiveness. Tangible security.
• 3rd: Mental stimulation. You learned so much.
• 4th: Emotional intimacy. Safety.
• 5th: Pleasure. Joy. Creativity.
• 6th: Devotion. They took care of you.
• 7th: Projection of long-term potential.
• 8th: Shared shadows. Deep exposure.
• 9th: Big dreams. Future plans. Soul talks.
• 12th: Unexplainable soul pull. You think of them without meaning to.

Signs You Are Unforgettable ✨
Leo Placements (Sun, Moon, or Rising) Leo energy is ruled by the Sun itself—so people with strong Leo placements naturally radiate. They're often confident, expressive, and full of life. But what makes them unforgettable isn't just their charisma. It's their consistency of presence.Whether you saw them once or spent years with them, their energy feels like sunshine on your skin: warm, golden, and hard to replicate. Leo Risings especially are memorable for their style, hair, voice, or a strong, regal physical presence. Leo Moons, on the other hand, leave an impression because they give love dramatically and loyally. People remember how seen and valued they made them feel 🌞.
Tumblr media
Scorpio Placements (especially Moon, Rising, or Venus) Scorpio is unforgettable because it penetrates. This energy doesn’t skate on the surface—it goes deep. Scorpio Risings walk into a room and people feel something shift. There’s often an air of secrecy, power, or raw emotional intensity that you can’t look away from. Scorpio Moons can affect people at a soul level—they don’t just feel, they absorb emotion, and if you’ve been loved (or even hated) by a Scorpio Moon, you won’t forget it. Scorpio Venus? That’s someone whose love is all-consuming. People carry the memory of their passion for years. It’s not always about drama—it’s about emotional imprint. You don't forget a Scorpio, even if you try 🦂.
Aquarius Placements (especially Rising, Sun, or Mercury) Aquarius doesn’t follow trends—they are the trend. People with Aquarius Rising or Sun often leave a mark because of how uniquely they express themselves. They might have unconventional style, ideas, or behavior that seems weird until it becomes cool years later. But what’s unforgettable about them is that they usually show up as themselves, regardless of judgment. Aquarius Mercury? That’s someone whose ideas blow your mind and make you question everything you thought you knew. They live on in people’s memories as “the one who changed my perspective.” ⚡
Pisces Placements (especially Moon, Rising, or Neptune on the Ascendant) There’s something dreamlike about strong Pisces energy. These people tend to blur the line between reality and fantasy in others’ eyes. Their presence is soft, soulful, and often healing—almost like a balm. A Pisces Moon will understand your emotions without you saying a word. A Pisces Rising might be remembered for their eyes, their aura, or how they made you feel safe or inspired. They’re often artistic, musical, or emotionally intuitive—and people often fall in love with them without knowing why. They become symbols of lost innocence, deep love, or creative muse energy. They haunt dreams, inspire art, or remain an unresolved mystery ✨.
Venus in Libra or Taurus Venus is the planet of love and beauty, and in its home signs, it becomes magnetic. Venus in Libra people are unforgettable because they know how to connect with others gracefully. Their charm is refined, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent. Venus in Taurus carries a more sensual, earthy magnetism. They're unforgettable for how they feel physically—warm hugs, beautiful voices, soft touch, great taste. They bring beauty into the everyday in a way people long for again after they’re gone. Venus in either sign can make people feel seen, desirable, and adored—and that feeling lingers.
Pluto or Neptune on the Ascendant or Midheaven If you’ve got Pluto conjunct your Ascendant, people sense your power immediately. It’s not always obvious or loud, but it’s felt. You trigger something in others, whether that’s desire, fear, admiration, or transformation. It’s hard to be “neutral” around Pluto-Ascendant people—they become key players in other people’s life stories. Neptune on the Ascendant or Midheaven is a bit more ghostly but just as memorable. You might be idealized, projected on, or even misunderstood, but people remember the feeling you gave them. It’s a lingering sense of awe, melancholy, or love that defies logic.
North Node in the 1st House or conjunct the Ascendant These people often feel like they’re meant to be seen. There’s something about them that makes others think, “They’re going somewhere.” They may not even realize it, but people remember their potential, their presence, or how they seemed destined for something bigger.
What’s important to remember is that being unforgettable doesn’t always come from beauty or popularity—it comes from energy. The kind of presence that alters someone’s state of mind, leaves them curious, or emotionally moved. Some people leave behind information; unforgettable people leave behind impression.

I love astrology. I love studying & teaching astrology. And its because of my love for it that I refuse to let combative people ruin it for me. I will block & mute with the quickness. We can discuss contrasting views, but the minute somebody becomes black & white..move around

Astro Observations Pt 6
Lunar Return Edition
Tumblr media
These observations are based off personal experiences after tracking my lunar returns. You can ask me anything in the comments.
When I had Saturn in my 6h it was a mentally hard time. Everything felt more difficult on a daily basis. I was even approached to take on more responsibilities at work, when I already had an increase workload at home (mommy life).
8h stellium brings all your fears to the forefront. My natal 12h being the LR chart rising also added to it. I was facing a lot of nightmares through dreamworld. But also, I was given insight to a lot in the dreamworld..almost like premonitions.
When the moon was in my 3h I travelled quite often
7h mars, chaos with my live in partner.
Natal 6h, LR chart Asc and so much work so little time. I started a consistent daily exercise routine and got on antidepressants & antianxiety meds. I was determined to get a control on my health overall
Moon in 9h and I settled a civil suit case in my favor
Natal 12h LR asc or South Node in LR 1h will definitely force you to do shadow work. I went through a semi mental breakdown and chopped off almost most of my hair, yikes
Uranus in the 8h can bring unexpected money from others but also unexpected emotions resurfacing. Secrets can be revealed too
Moon in 4h or 4h stellium can indicate moving, as it did for me. Emphasized if your LR 12h is your natal 4h, moving to different cities or country.
Moon in 4h is a greater harmonious time at home or with the mother, unless afflicted by planet like mars, saturn or uranus.
Sun-venus conj a glow up, feeling so attractive that month. Getting lots of compliments.
South node in the 8h another indicator of nightmares but its processing repressed emotions. Basically trying to help you to heal via dreamworld. You could also have past life dreams, I certainly did.
Moon sq Saturn.... not the best time mentally or emotionally. Especially since LR chart focus is the moon so harsh aspects means an emotionally challenging month ahead
9h moon could be seeing a therapist or getting really great advice from someome you look up to. May reflect on the relationship with your father or father figure. I also found a great astrologer to learn from by joining her patreon community.

Lilith Through The Houses
Lilith in astrology (often called Black Moon Lilith) represents your raw, unapologetic power — the parts of you that are wild, taboo, and untamed. She’s the dark feminine, the seductress, the exile, and the witch. She shows where you refuse to be controlled, where you hold deep rage, sacred sensuality, and radical autonomy.
Lilith in the 1st House:
You are the taboo. People project their shame and desire onto you. Walking into a room is an act of defiance.
Core vibe: “I scare people just by being real.”
Lilith in the 2nd House:
Your worth isn’t up for debate, but people keep trying. You own your sensuality and disrupt ideas of what’s ‘valuable.’
Core vibe: “I am the luxury you can’t afford.”
Lilith in the 3rd House:
Your words seduce, provoke, and expose. You speak the unspeakable and flirt like it’s warfare.
Core vibe: “My voice is a weapon and a prayer.”
Lilith in the 4th House:
Your roots are raw, sacred, and shadowy. You carry ancestral rage and transform it into inner power.
Core vibe: “I am the curse-breaker of my bloodline.”
Lilith in the 5th House:
You make creativity erotic and rebellion look like art. Unapologetically loud, unfiltered, and irresistible.
Core vibe: “Being seen is my revenge.”
Lilith in the 6th House:
You make the mundane sacred. Your rituals are sexy, your routines are spells. You reject servitude, even in love.
Core vibe: “I will not shrink myself to be digestible.”
Lilith in the 7th House:
You attract intense, karmic partnerships. People fall in lust with your shadow. You show them who they really are.
Core vibe: “I mirror what you hide.”
Lilith in the 8th House:
You are the storm and the stillness. Sex, power, death, and truth — all wrapped in mystery. People crave you, fear you, obsess over you.
Core vibe: “I seduce, destroy, and transform.”
Lilith in the 9th House:
You challenge belief systems and ignite spiritual rebellion. Sacred knowledge lives in your bones.
Core vibe: “My truth doesn’t ask for permission.”
Lilith in the 10th House:
You were born to be seen — even if it makes others uncomfortable. You own your power publicly, and they either worship or crucify you for it.
Core vibe: “My success is a threat and a prophecy.”
Lilith in the 11th House:
You can’t be boxed into any collective. You’re the rebel within the revolution — the one who changes the game by refusing to play it.
Core vibe: “I don’t fit in. I change the culture.”
Lilith in the 12th House:
You are the embodiment of secret power. Your shadow whispers in dreams and your energy lingers in silence.
Core vibe: “My power is hidden, but it moves mountains.”

Your Solar Return Chart is basically the Universe's way of giving you a sneak peek into the chaos (or slay) of your next 12 months. It's like a cosmic itinerary, and if you read it right, you can prepare yourself from the drama and manifest the magic. So, let's get into come placements and what they REALLY mean:
Tumblr media
Venus 1H -> Hot girl year, expect compliments and suitors left and right. You're exuding main character energy, but don't get too caught up in your reflection.
Moon 8H -> Emotional intensity is through the roof. You might be in a psychic queen era or just obsessed with someone new every other week.
Jupiter 2H/8H -> If you play your cards right, money is moving. Business deals, raises, even sugar daddies (no judgement). Just don't blow it all in one place.
Saturn 6H -> Your health and daily routines need structure. Drink water, stretch, and maybe actually sleep on time for once.
Venus 7H -> Relationships will be a big deal. Expect a boo upgrade or major partnership energy. If you're single, someone is definitely plotting on you.
Mars 7H -> Fights or passionate makeups...a whole lot of $ex. Either way, expect relationship drama.
Venus 10H -> Your reputation is glowing up. You might get recognized for your work, or at the very least, your selfies are hitting just right.
Jupiter 9H -> Travel and learning are big themes. Expect to book flights, have deep convos, or just spend way too much time on Duolingo.
Sun at 5° 1H -> You're in the main character seat this year. All eyes on you, whether you like it or not.
Sun trine Jupiter -> Expect a confidence boost and lucky breaks.
Sun square Pluto -> Power struggles ahead; watch out for jealous energy.
MC at 22° -> POWER YEAR. You're about to be seen in a big way.
Venus conjunct MC -> You're stepping into IT-Girl status.
MC square Pluto -> Beware of power struggles in the workplace.
Mercury 10H -> Your ideas are popping off, and people are listening.
Mars trine Pluto -> Power moves only. You'll have the drive to make big changes, especially in work or personal transformation.
NN conjunct Moon -> EMOTIONAL LEVEL UP. You're destined to embrace new emotional experiences this year.
Neptune square Mercury -> Your intuition is strong, but so is delusion. Make sure you're not misreading situations (or ignoring red flags).
Mars 4H -> You might move this year OR redecorate like crazy. If square Uranus, unexpected living changes (eviction, sudden relocation?). If trine Mercury, you're more vocal about your boundaries at home.
NN 7H -> Fated connections incoming. Could be THE ONE or a karmic person pushing you toward your destiny. If square Mars, passion is there, but so are arguments over the dumbest things.
Saturn 1H -> You're giving "responsible baddie" energy. People will take you more seriously, but it might feel like you're aging in dog years. If conjunct AC, this is a full-on reinvention year.
Pluto square Venus - Watch for toxic relationships or power struggles in love and money. Could be a year of deep transformation in how you handle intimacy.

A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO VEDIC ASTROLOGY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I DO NOT PLAGIARIZE, COPY OR REWORD ANY OF MY FELLOW ASTROLOGY OBSERVERS POSTS AND I DEMAND THE SAME IN RETURN.
I began my astrology journey with Vedic astrology so I can confidently share my knowledge and my observations.
THE TYPES OF CHART DRAWINGS:
THE DIAMOND STYLE (left image) AND THE BOX STYLE (right image).
The Diamond style Chart is also known as the North Indian chart style. The Box style Chart is also known as the South Indian chart style.
Tumblr media
IF ONE FEELS DRAWN MORE TOWARDS USING THE DIAMOND CHART TO READ CHARTS THEN THEY HAVE A STRONG VENUS.
IF ONE FEELS DRAWN MORE TOWARDS USING THE BOX CHART, THEN THEIR JUPITER IS STRONG IN THE CHART.
Tumblr media
• First, in Vedic astrology we have charts for different areas of our life which is the D2 chart, D3 chart, and so on till the D60 chart but mainly for our life overall we consider our birth chart which is divided in two, that is:
✓Lagna chart = from birth to 28 years
✓Navama chart = 28 years to death.
>In Vedic astrology, Neptune, Pluto, and uranus are not considered.
>There are no asteroids in Vedic astrology like Eros, Fama and so on. Ketu behaves like Neptune, Rahu behaves like Uranus and Mars behaves like Pluto.
Tumblr media

JUPITER = 5TH,7TH,9TH from the house in which he is seated.
SATURN = 3RD,7TH,10TH from the house in which he is seated.
>RAHU AND KETU ONLY ASPECT EACHOTHER AS THEY SIT IN OPPOSITE HOUSES.
>While counting the aspects, we include the house we are starting our count from.

FOR SOUTH INDIAN CHART and NORTH INDIAN CHART:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some notes:
• Moon and Mercury are the most imbalanced planets in Vedic astrology, hence there can be a lot of imbalance wherever they are seated. Things hardly ever seem stable in that area of your life.
• Saturn and Sun are enemies because the Sun [who is shani's (Saturn) dad] burnt his mother, Chaaya, right in front of him. Saturn really really really hates the Sun.
• In Vedic astrology Venus and Jupiter are enemies because Jupiter is the god of the Devas (gods) and Venus is the god of the Asuras (demons).
• Rahu does the best when seated in the 6th house and Ketu in the 12th.
• Saturn, Mars and Rahu in the 12th house is a bad combination to have because it makes a person very negative in nature, they are always complaining, never satisfied with anything or anyone, are always lecturing others, are not patient, is a hypocrite, etc.
• Mercury in the 5th house makes one look younger than their age. They age very very very slowly.
• Venus in the 12th house natives get married at a young age (22 or 23 years old).
• Jupiter in the 12th house makes the native the 'diamond in the rough'.
• Mars in the 1st house natives will most likely become bald because this causes really serious hairfall.
• In Vedic astrology it's always either Sun who is strong in the chart or Saturn who is strong. Both cannot be strong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Mercury and Rahu together in the 12th house can cause serious mental health issues and lack of emotional support from others.
• Ketu and Venus when seated together becomes a very sad placement. A lot of one sided love in the persons life. This is because Ketu and Venus are complete opposites, Ketu is a very detached planet that is not at all interested in love and romance while Venus is a very sensual and romantic planet who craves connection. The person will crave love but will most of the time face heartbreaking situations with others.
• Sun in 12th house causes eyesight issues mainly with the right eye. Moon in the 12th house causes eyesight issues mostly with the left eye. [Sun is the right eye while Moon is the left eye].
• Rahu in the 12th or 4rth definitely indicates foreign settlement.
• Mars in houses 1st, 4rth, 7th,8th or 12th makes the person a Manglik and this seriously hinders their marital life and entire life in general. This placement gets nullified to some extent when a benefic planet such as Moon is aspecting Mars.
• Rahu in the 4rth house makes a natives mother cunning and selfish. This makes a persons mom know how to play their cards well.
• Mars in the 4rth indicates an abusive household and even an abusive mother, be it verbally abusive, physically abusive, etc.
• Mercury in the 1st house makes a person very chatty and talkative.
• Saturn in 5th can indicate having a love marriage and going against ones parents for it or eloping and getting married.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Mars in the 9th house can make one an atheist. I have seen this in many atheists chart.
• Mercury in the 5th house can make one very good at learning languages and are good with miniature art. Like they can draw very detailed art.
• When any planet sits with the Sun, the Sun let's them shine and gives them more power to be prominent in the chart.
• When a planet sits with Rahu or Ketu they are overshadowed by them, like an eclipse. That's why Rahu and Ketu are known as the shadow planets.
• Rahu in the 12th house can cause sleeping issues like insomnia and mental stress.
• Moon in the 4rth house Natives are naturally very inclined towards their mother.
• Sun in the 12th house Natives never had a father figure in their life. An absent father figure but they are always looking up to their father and seeking his validation which of course they will never get.
• The planet in 11th house can show what kind of friends you have, ex: Saturn can indicate having a small friend circle and also indicates having older friends. If one has moon in the 11th house, then there will always be ups and downs in friendships.
Tumblr media
Thankyou for reading through this!
I really hope this helped beginners in any way possible and I look forward to seeing you next time!❤️‍🔥🫂 Take care and have a great day!🌞🧿✨

SOLAR RETURN OBSERVATIONS
👽 Jupiter in 7th house: I started forming many connections and talking to alot. of foreigners that year .
👽 Sun in 6th house:sickness! sickness!sickness!. I just kept falling sick 🤢
👽 As I always say, the solar return works together with your natal chart. When the house a planet is located shows up as your solar return ascendant that that planet is also highlighted . For example my natal mars is in Gemini . When Gemini showed as my Sr asc, I was easily made angry that year. I was just getting irritated at anything I didn't like .
👽moon conjunct Saturn 😭. It's very easy to sink into depression. It'll get to a point that you don't know what to feel anymore.
👽 Jupiter in 9th house. Luck in college and studies
👽Pisces ascendant : Very bad addiction 😭. I really suffered to let go of that addiction.
👽3rd natal house as Sr ascendant: I had a new sibling. My mom gave birth to our last born and I took care of her alot too ♥️
👽 Anytime my natal 9th house pops up as Sr asc, I must travel 🧳
👽Saturn in 9th house: educational delays and blockages😭
👽Uranus in 9th house:you discover something mind-blowing and something mind-blowing happens to your school life too lol😂
👽Juno in 1st house: I was always thinking about the one 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨👄😂
👽Saturn conjunct moon in 4th house: Taking care of my Old Grandma and living where I didn't want to live🥲
👽 Gemini ascendant: I changed schools 🎒
👽👽👽👽👽
More are on the way! Keep the love coming 🫂. I love you guys

The Sun Through the Degrees
The Sun represents your core identity, life force, purpose, and ego. The specific degree of the Sun in your birth chart adds extra depth to your personality, revealing how you express your individuality and approach life.
0° Sun – The Pure Self
• Radiates raw, unfiltered energy.

In this life era, you're entering a phase of deep reflection on your connections—both past and present. Your focus shifts towards close relationships, and you may find yourself investing more time and energy into them than before. This year, it's less about you individually and more about the people around you. ˗ˏˋ ⭐ ˎˊ˗ Astrology Observations ˗ˏˋ ⭐ ˎˊ˗
Tumblr media
🌟 The placement of Pluto in your chart can reveal the theme of pain or transformation you might experience in this life—pain that serves as a catalyst for profound internal and mental shifts within yourself.
The depth of pain will be dependent on your own choices; if you choose to ignore red flags the harsher and more severe the wake up call would be.
Pluto in the 5th house: Struggles might emerge from overindulgence in impulsive or immature choices, such as gambling or seeking joy in fleeting pleasures (such as affairs or short term relationships). Poor choices may manifest because there's a need of deep inner child healing, which could cause deeper emotional wounds in the process. The extremes of choosing quick fun can lead into a habit of poor decision making.  Pluto in the 7th house: Challenges and transformative pain often arise through intimate romantic relationships, pushing you to confront deep-seated patterns and fears. If you keep choosing people who won't choose you or if you rely on others for a sense of self, identity or acceptance then the wake up call would be more prominent or severe. Pluto in the 11th house: Painful experiences may come through friendships or involvement in communities, leading to shifts in how you connect with and trust others. If you find yourself relying on others or seeking external validation through communities, friend groups, or social connections, the wake-up call may lead you to recognize your own worth and embrace yourself as you are, without needing acknowledgment from others. Pluto in the 12th house: Ignoring your psyche or mental struggles can lead to self-unraveling. The more you avoid or dismiss your internal mental health setbacks, the deeper and more painful the lessons will become. You may not even be aware of your emotional needs, but the longer you avoid confronting your sensitivity or past wounds—whether from childhood or relationships—the harder it will be to redefine your self-concept and belief system. You may even experience a revelation about yourself after overcoming depression or anxiety, which can help you understand yourself better. However, remember that being introspective and aware doesn't always mean you're truly feeling your feelings. You may know what to think or how to act, but it’s crucial to connect the emotions you've been holding onto with the feelings beneath them.
Pluto placed in less interactive houses may have a less intense theme, but if you also have Chiron in the same house, its influence can become much more prominent and life-changing, amplifying the potential for deep healing or painful growth.
🌟 If you have many inner planets in your 5th, 7th, or 8th house, you're more likely to seek out romantic connections, desire a partner, or long for one—even if you’ve experienced emotional turmoil in your childhood due to your parents or past partners.
🌟 If you have many inner planets in your 1st, 2nd, or 12th house, you’re less likely to be open to a connection. Subconsciously, you might desire or wish for someone to be “your person,” but you may never allow yourself to fully give in.
🌟 Pisces/Scorpio placements may have a strong tendency to seek deep emotional experiences during times of creativity. They often search for a specific feeling or emotional state as a catalyst to create art or writing.
🌟 Aquarius placements, especially Moon or Rising, often struggle with avoidance as one of their worst traits in any relationships they navigate—whether romantic, platonic, or even with themselves.
🌟 Scorpios are known for their extreme loyalty. Once they choose you, they are deeply committed and unlikely to leave unless a traumatic emotional blockage arises within the relationship.
🌟 Scorpio risings can have beautiful striking eyes, and because of that their eyes can heavily influence appearance. Their eyes may even become an ice breaker for conversations/be talked about a-lot.
🌟 Aries + Libra axis turnover rate when it comes to relationships is incredibly high. Moving on to the next can come naturally to them unless they have other placements that contradicts that tendency.
🌟 Air signs need intellectual stimulation; they need to feel excited and curious with you.
🌟 8th House placements (esp. Moon or Sun) or Scorpio placements are incredibly private towards the public. They naturally will not post on social media: no instagram stories, tweets, memes, their thoughts or feelings willingly and openly.
This is because
At a young age their needs, thoughts or wishes were ignored and pushed to the side for others sake and so they now have coped to never share their own inner thoughts or feelings to others.
They've been burned or hurt in the past by someone they've trusted, and now they don't share or openly state their true feelings outwardly towards others.
If they have a Taurus/Libra/Leo IC or Gemini/Sagittarius/placements then the chances of sharing themselves online is more likely.
🌟 In 8th/Pluto + 12th/Neptune house synastry connections, if you two are not on speaking terms sudden lows may occur when you're reminded of what was.
If it's been weeks or months since you've both talked and one random day they watch your story on your social media a sudden longing for them may come.
If you run into them and the conversation didn't amount to what you wished for, a low may come and you'll feel as if the relationship is completely over.
🌟 8th house synastry amounts to constant cycles and loops, if you're not wishing for them, you say you're over them.
There could be an emotional block between you two and the desire for them may diminish but If they look at you for one second the way they used too, the desire for them will arise as if the feeling never left.
🌟 In 12th house and Neptune synastry, you might covertly share song lyrics on your social media, hoping they’ll read them and sense that the lyrics are meant as a message for them. Instead of expressing your feelings face-to-face, posting these lyrics in a "hidden" way feels safer.
And if so, you yourself may wonder if anything they publicly post, say, or do is a secret message for you.
You may even go out of your way to somehow find a perfect song that depicts the relationship between you two and use that song as a gateway message to state your true feelings without having to outwardly state them.
(The above statement is more true for those who have Pisces, 12th house, Neptune influence in their cart)
🌟 3rd house synastry creates ease with communication, especially if there's 4th house synastry as well, and if the planets involved are the Sun, Moon, or Venus.
🌟 For 12th house synastry to cause intense idealizations, thoughts, dreams, wishes or obsessiveness there has to be attraction involved, the more attracted you are to them the more you'll idealize them.
🌟 A Neptune/12th house person and a planet person can both experience intense desire, longing, or overthinking, but the way they process these feelings depends on their individual natal charts.
🌟 With 8th and 12th house synastry connections, you might never actually date the person, yet the emotions they evoke within you can feel as profound and intimate as if you had.
🌟 Neptune and 12th house synastry: "You are perfect for me; you feel like everything I could ever wish for in someone."
If you're avoidant, this feeling can be terrifying because it brings a sense of inadequacy, as if you could never live up to the idealized version of yourself they see. You'll long for them deeply, but the way they look at you may feel unsettling, foreign, or out of place. Even if they seem like your dream person, self-doubt can drive you to run. You might fear disappointing them or feel you’ll never measure up to the partner they deserve. You'll view them as some sort of prize from a distance and you'll search for them in other connections but you'll never allow yourself to choose them, not like they choose you.
If you're anxious, this feeling will strike a familiar chord, it'll resonate so deeply within and letting go will seem impossible. You'll feel this pull toward them, you'll feel as if they’re your muse, your catharsis, and you'll wish that they were your person. Even without words, you'll sense that they want you, and this silent connection will consume your thoughts. You’ll compare the way they make you feel to everyone else, and you'll search for that same intensity in other people's gazes. You’ll sit in your head, wondering if your wishes align with theirs, questioning if they feel the same. Over time, you’ll realize the emotions they stir in you are unmatched, which leads you to hold onto the connection longer than you should, you'll rather wish on the what could be's than accept what is.
🌟 Pisces or 12th house placements often turn to writing or art as a means of expressing their inner thoughts, feelings, and longings. The more they feel, the more their creativity flows.
🌟 If you have water placements or planets in water houses (4th, 8th, 12th), deep emotions are embedded within you. The more you avoid these feelings, the more likely physical symptoms such as anxiety or mental struggles will occur. It's your body’s way of processing the hidden emotions you’ve learned to suppress. These unaddressed feelings can manifest in subtle, physical ways, and it's a reflection of the emotional turmoil beneath the surface.
