Andrew would somehow keep tabs. I'm obsessed with the idea of them keeping in contact via letter now actually omg. I'd have to check the timeline for their backstories again but I'm sure I can find a spot where for some reason they stopped keeping in touch (not by choice, honestly probably Mary but like I said I would have to consult the wiki)

Screaming crying throwing up thinking of Andrew freaking out trying to figure something out once he finds out about the count down. I'm thinking once the initial tension and anger gets resolved they're like attached at the hip sort of childhood friends style even before they're romantically involved but once Neil gets the countdown there's not even going to class alone cause I'm thinking they still make the promise. Omg omg you're right there's so many open possibilities with that. Ugh the idea of them getting taken together is very complicated but you're right the angst is 🤌

Here me out. Cause I've seen this floating around but like sort of with different interpretations: Neil and Andrew meet in Juvie ☝️

Thoughts? Feelings? 👀 Please no one understands my AFTG AU brainrot

Ok, first of all. Starting a new AU is always a good idea. Always.

Still, I really like that particular idea. I think there's a lot of diferent ways to do it and all of them are really interesting. I haven't actually read a lot of fics about it though.

I kinda like the idea that Mary puts Neil in prison for a bit to be able to move better on her own and distract Nathan or lead him away and then she goes back to pick him up. Kinda like a twisted version of daycare.

Inside Neil meets Andrew and though he knows he shouldn't he hangs around him. They talk and bond. There are a lot of lies between them, especially on Neil's side, but I imagine Neil has never been as close to truthful with anyone before as he is with Andrew (aside from Mary). I imagine Neil takes the opportunity to play exy inside, or maybe he just practices a little. Andrew of course, notices (this has absolutely nothing to do with Andrew's decision to co rinse playing exy, not at all).

Neil has to leave and they don't see each other again. Andrew pretends Neil didn't matter at all, but when one day Kevin forces him to watch the audition tape of the newest fox he immediately recognices Neil and insists on going with to pick him up.

I imagine the monsters, and everyone else too, have no idea what to do with the whole situation. They clearly have something going on (and of course Andrew and Neil don't really tell anyone else what the hell is going on). I imagine Andrew to be a bit angry about the whole situation and Neil is struggling even more with the idea of leaving Andrew again).

There're lots of ways to play this and I think all of them are awesome. Tbf I think aftg is awesome so it's no surprise.

How were you thinking of going at it?? I'm really curious to see your version of this AU, I'm sure it'll be great.

Omg I didn't even think about Mary doing it to hide Neil from Nathan 👀👀 That's such a good idea. I was thinking like yk how they would stop all the time? Maybe Neil tried to snag smth and he wasn't as careful as he should've been (cause he's younger) or somebody asked him where his parents were and he was kind of resistant and when they called the police he ran away, so he ends up getting caught and Mary can't get him out of it this time so she's like working sort of on the side to get him out before Nathan finds out.

Hehe yeah I had a similar thought. Although I couldn't decide who'd be there first but I thought Andrew cause I think he spent a while there anyway in canon. (Ofc not he's just doing it cause he's bored obviouslyyyyyy 🤭😂)

I'm glad you mentioned this cause I actually didn't really have anything planned for when they got out and I couldn't decide if they met again before the foxes cause like it feels a little coincidental but I wasn't sure.

I'm imagining Neil being like furiously loyal to Andrew and it's like how he was when they were in Juvie and Andrew is struggling with it so much, Aaron only has so much context, and the rest of the foxes are COMPLETELY in the dark. You're right Andrew would be pissed but I think like in a "I hate you" (not actually) sort of way.

Hehe fairrrr. There's a lot of alternatives. Maybe I should play around with it. See what works best. Cause I suppose it would change how they handle Neil getting kidnapped 🤔 I mean, in theory, if he and Andrew had a stronger connection sooner it's possible he wouldn't get taken at all so I could mess with that.

I wanted Niko back. Or, at least, I wanted the moment when Edwin found out the Principal was Niko. I wanted Edwin to cry more, basically, because he would and I wanted them to catch up and for everything to be revealed. I JUST WANTED NIKO'S STORY TO BE RESOLVEDDDDD 😭😭😭

I will always have a special place in my heart for Payneland. They're profound and beautiful and wonderful and perfectly wound up, red string of fate, all that sort of thing

My comfort ship rn is catcrow. Theyre so bitchy and annoying and they have only one scene together. But they are my favourite. AND I BLAME YOU FOR THIS, LORE- /lhlhlh

15. Favourite line in the show

Charles' whole mini monologue in episode 4. It's an absolute gut punch. "Was it too extreme, Edwin? So was me dying at 16, mate" Brutal. "I don't wanna be dead! I hate it" Tearing my heart out. "But I'm always fucking smiling" Just kill me why don't you

And Jayden Revi, the man that you are for delivering that so fucking well. It's one of my favourite scenes just because of how much it hurts. It starts out cathartic with him beating the Night Nurse and then very very quickly turns sour and horrifying and you just get hit with how absolutely fucked up it is that Charles and Edwin died like this. You get it a bit with Edwin's monologue in ep1 but Charles' monologue is just delivered with such passion that it's painful and horrifying and beautiful to watch

22. Favourite female character?

Ooooooooooooooh. I love all the characters sm but my favourite female character is probably Crystal. She's so complex and wonderfully written and she's a female character who's allowed to be angry and that is so bloody rare in media, I think it's gorgeous. And she's so lost for most of the show but she puts it to the side to help others and she cares so deeply about justice and she's also a character who was allowed to change and allowed to hate who she was and allowed to regret it while knowing she may not deserve the redemption she wants and it's wonderful writing and I just love her so much

Lowkey I hated season one it was the worst by far lol, a lot of the plot points made me feel icky but I guess that’s what happens when you adapt from a romance book in the 80s
