At this point I'm largely 'it was what it was' vis a vis campaign 3.

But occasionally I'll think about how the climax of campaign 1 is Scanlan having to sacrifice his one chance to save Vax's life in order to stop Vecna from escaping, how the cast has multiple times acknowledged how strong the story of the tragedy of Vax is. Then I'll think about they consciously made the decision to undermine that, and I get a little annoyed again.

#reading this as someone who did not watch one iota of C3 has been very. interesting.#bc ill be honest. im not at all shocked. i basically clocked that smth like this would happen after C2. which is why i didnt pick up C3 #ironically primarily bc they kinda do the reverse. both this and the 'lol its not molly actually' thing show that the dice and the gameplay #dont matter. the things they win or lose by chance dont matter. if they narratively want things enough they'll just get handed them anyway #and it really... ruined the watchability for me. bc if i wanted a bunch of people telling a fantasy story i would go anywhere else #what made me invested in CR was the fact that it wasnt up to what they wanted. they had to make choices. there were stakes #but then taliesin decided he didnt WANT them to have the win of reviving molly bc he wanted to force that death back into place #which like.... fine but dont open the door for it then?!!#and this is the opposite. the cast decided they didnt want vax dead apparently so that loss was undone.#you get what im saying here? i see other ppl saying the reverse ('at least theres one PC death') but i disagree #its not about PC death. its about the in game choices mattering.#and apparently they dont anymore so why play?#anyway v sorry for the rant but i have been having thoughts seeing C3 unfold and this is what it boils down to #cr discourse #boy howdy never wanted to use that tag #i say all of this will lots of remaining affection for the cast and C2 #i dont blame them per se i just think their flaws/idiosyncrasies are showing here #anyway i doubt ill say anymore on the subject but seeing that this happened (apparently) did make me 🤔#campaign 3 #campaign 1
