BLACK SALT (also known as WITCH’S SALT) is used primarily for protection, banishing, and repelling.

Those uses aren’t exclusive—it has also been known to feature in baneful magics, and can be used in uncrossing rituals.

WAYS TO UTILISE BLACK SALT

To protect your property from negative spirits, people with ill-intent, unwanted visitors, and negative energy: sprinkle black salt around the perimeter of your property.

To both banish any residual icky energy that a person may have left in your home, and prevent them from returning: sprinkle black salt on the front step and sweep it away. If you’re feeling more traditional (and brave!) you can throw black salt at the back of someone that is leaving your home also.

To prevent nightmares: use in a sachet and keep beneath your pillow.

To repel negativity, unwanted visitors, and rumours/gossip: sprinkle generously across windowsills and doorways.

To cleanse your home and keep nasties from entering: add black salt to a floor wash and go ham on your floor. Focus especially on high traffic areas.

To undo a curse, hex, or other form of malignant magic that has been cast upon you: use in an uncrossing oil or powder. Learn more about uncrossing [here].

To alleviate any negative thoughts and feelings that you are carrying: add a pinch of black salt to your bath, or to an oil with a similar purpose that you anoint yourself with.

Yes. That's why I had to be taken to ICU.

A bad Gastroparesis flare up alone is enough to cause some damage but coupled with Diabetic Ketoacidosis? The doctors described me as being in the same boat as someone that has been in a car crash.

I needed multiple IVs inserted using ultrasound as well as a central line because I required constant blood monitoring and to be given insulin, potassium, dextrose, saline, dilaudid, antibiotics and more until the morning of my discharge.

what was the medical emergency?

I have Gastroparesis and was in a flare-up for a little while. Then, one night, I started vomiting and couldn't stop. I couldn't keep anything down, tore my oesophagus, and wound up also suffering from Diabetic Ketoacidosis at the same time as I couldn't manage and regulate my blood sugars when the Gastroparesis issue worsened.

Witch Crafts: How to Make A Scrying Mirror

• WHAT IS A SCRYING MIRROR? •

A scrying mirror is one of a variety of tools that can be used in the divination method that is scrying [click here for more information on scrying].

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

A photo frame with glass.

Matte black spray paint (it doesn't need to be spray paint, but I find this easier!).

Glass cleaner (if you want to use a vinegar and water solution instead, that's fine!).

Clean cloth.

Microfibre cloth (optional).

HOW TO:

Firstly, remove the glass from the photo frame and set the frame aside as you'll be popping the glass back inside later.

Using your glass cleaner and cloth, thoroughly clean both sides of the glass and try to avoid leaving smears or smudges. You can use another clean, dry cloth (microfibre for best results) once the mirror is dry, to go over the glass and buff it/remove any dust.

Allow the glass to dry completely, then take it to a ventilated area, lay the glass on a piece of paper or fabric you're not too attached to, and use the spray paint to coat one side of the glass. Allow the first coat to dry, then add a few more layers ensuring that the coverage is as even as possible, and opaque.

Leave the glass to dry in a safe place.

Once the paint is dry, reinsert the glass into the picture frame with the unpainted side facing you.

*OPTIONAL: you can embellish your frame, or the edges of the glass if you wish. It's your scrying mirror, so make it yours!

You are now ready to scry your heart out! Make sure the glass is smudge and mark free before you scry, as to not skew anything you may divine from the mirror.

Liminality & Liminal Spaces

It’s been quite a while since my last original post, and I profusely apologise for my absence.

What is liminality?

The word “liminal’ comes from a Latin word “līmen”, meaning “a threshold” and its Oxford Dictionary definition is:

Relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process.

Occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.

That is a brief etymological explanation of liminal/liminality, but,… what is it? What is it in relation to witches and witchcraft?
