As we building and equitable, diverse, and inclusive #cannabis industry in the midst of everything going on in the world right now, we must continue to #educate ourselves, our peers, relatives, the people we do business with, and the people we expect to be our future #leaders. #Racism is alive, and is definitely in our government, so we as a community need to set our own standards of #excellence. Take pride in being able to identify the various forms of racism, THEN CALL IT OUT. Call it out, then educate, communicate, and establish a solution to move forward in a more progressive manner. Be about that #ACTION! #socialimpact #socialjustice #equity #diversity #inclusion #TheMedisiEffect (at United States)

We were recently in China researching the re-urbanization process that is happening across the country. This is Huaxi Village. What was once a small rural town, is now the number 1 village in China with 5 firms and producing 50 Billion RMB revenue in 2010. 50 years ago, Mr. Wu one of the villagers, foresaw great change coming and started to build what you see today. After 2001, Huaxi annexed 12 nearby villages to become one, helping ensure the positive impact of what was to come would benefit the majority. Today, here in the US, Cannabis is the spark of the great change and we are here to ensure the positive impact has a diverse, inclusive, & equitable distribution. We learn so much on our R&D trips and can't wait to share more! #HuaxiVillage #China #economics #education #growth #mentalexpansion #MEDISIVENTURES #cannabis #cannabusiness #ConsumptionChronicles #publicpolicy #urbanplanning #health #transportation #infrastructure #NYU #TheMedisiEffect #socialimpact #diversity #equity #inclusion #development #MORETOGETHER #SuperSoulSunday #culturalappreciation #NYC #WestCoast #NewJersey #mmj (at China)

Part of living you best life is not tolerating bullshit. Depending on where you live (Brooklyn, NY for us), it’s hard to avoid the men that hangout on the sidewalk. But what you DO NOT EVER have to do is acknowledge their cat calls. No matter how nice they may seem.
It’s frustrating that women have to walk this fine line between seeing these people everyday and acknowledging their existence, to when she is clearly busy (working out with headphones in, trying to get home after a long day) or simply doesn’t want to engage–BECAUSE SHE HAS THAT RIGHT.
When she chooses not to engage, especially if she has headphones in, that doesn’t mean get louder with your cat call fellas!
Because this happens on a daily basis here in NY, you know you are not the first and last women that may have ignored a particular persons cat call in that day. But what you DO NOT know is a persons mental fragility.
Like most people, women want to feel safe in their neighborhood. I want to engage with my neighbors and see them all thrive in life. But what I, you, or anyone else shouldn’t tolerate is cat calls. NOT TODAY, NOT NEVER.

These are the types of insights that need to be included in the Cannabis conversation. Join NYU Furman Center to discuss poverty and its spatial concentration, including recent changes in poverty across New York City’s neighborhoods and demographic groups. The panel will discuss trends in New York City, how they compare to the experiences of other cities, and strategies for addressing concentrated poverty and its effects.
