"For the Inspired By Music book, Benedict Cumberbatch chose Radiohead’s How to Disappear Completely. At first, it felt like the perfect title for someone so quietly famous. But his reason was far deeper.While traveling in South Africa, Benedict and his friends were kidnapped at gunpoint. During the ordeal, this song came on — accidentally triggered by his knee. It became a strange soundtrack to survival. Not terror. Not trauma. But the relief of coming through."

"When I photographed Benedict Cumberbatch, he was just on the cusp of becoming a global star. He arrived on a moped. No entourage. No fuss. Just calm, humble energy — the opposite of ‘starry’.

Normally, part of my job is gently stripping away the celebrity gloss to reach something honest. But with Benedict, it was the reverse — I found myself reminding him that he was the centre of attention that day. A truly grounded man. And a joy to photograph."

This photoshoot was part of a 2009 book "where A-listers shared songs that helped them through tough times". This project was impulse by Prince (now King) Charles, to highlight the work of the Prince´s Trust charity with vulnerable young people.

So I've finally sent TSNC off for paperback publishing which will hopefully be available from next week some time. I'll post a lil update when it's live for those who said they were waiting for a hard copy.

In the meantime, I just wanted to post a shameless self promo and remind you that you can get the ebook now through amazon/kindle. I know most of you have already read it when it was up here on my page/ao3, but if you want to reread or support me (or even leave a review?👀) then I'd be forever grateful.

I've done it all myself from writing, editing, cover art, formatting etc. So I know it's probably not perfect. But I just love this book and I'm really proud of it.
