can we have a skincare routine with ellie only catch is she's ridiculously clueless 🥴
skin care shenanigans
with gf!ellie
I truly believe this woman wouldn’t know the difference between a toner and a cleanser
hell she’s like the very essence of disaster incarnate in the walking flesh when it comes to skincare—seriously the closest thing to “routine” consists of slapping on whatever face wash she’d randomly pick at a drug store for like under 5 bucks—and calling it a day
or worse—picking out a product simply due to the “cool ass design” in which flustered you (dodging stares from the cashier lady ) would have to give her the pep talk for the umpteenth time because “babe you can’t just—”much to Ellie’s disappointment
“then why does it even have the cool ass designs”
don’t get me started on having to lecture her, literally prep a whole crash course presentation on the difference between exfoliants, serums, and moisturizers. only for her to glance at you—all chicken brained “dunno about all that but it’s hot when you talk nerdy”
in all fairness it’s pretty hard to provide a counterarguement 1) she called you hot and 2) you’re just relieved she’s even listening to you ramble about the benefits of using vitamin c
but that’s the only upside. the downside; having to bear witness to your girlfriend using a 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash whilst standing in the shower—which by the way is a massive cardinal sin! the ultimate no no!
“el you’re going to give yourself a rash”
“imma big girl—besides been using it for years” she’d be all pouty-lipped, voice an octave lower, green eyes a pool of moss and pine—still drowsy with slumber
“that’s not the flex you think it is”
“shhhh don’t ruin this for me”
but now comes the hardest part—having to gently coax her into trying out this new routine you’ve put together
“you want me to do all three??”
“yes, that’s how a routine works babe”
but that’s just her. a stubborn, hot mess. at least she’s your hot mess, you suppose begrudgingly

‘baby girl’ this ‘baby girl’ that. but where is our ‘kiddo’ representation in this fandom?!? i know they don’t rlly use it in the show, but kiddo is clearly the best casually affectionate pet name for ellie.

Just been looking though both TLOU art books and it seems like they keep really, really wanting to give Ellie a dog companion
There’s concept art of her having a companion at the farm, at the start of the second game, in Seattle, in the winter part of the first game, and so on - it seems to be an idea they keeping coming back to, so who knows, they might end up giving her one in TLOU part III
There’s also this bit of concept art (presumably of an older Ellie) all the way at the very end of the art book for TLOU2 that I keep coming back to. I don’t know why but it keeps feeling like it might be something for part III.
It’s just weird that it’s hidden all the way at the back, behind all the concept art they did for all the graphic design concepts for the game. But idk it might just be a little illustration of someone else to make the book look pretty.

I've always thought Joel's face after Sarah tells him she fixed his watch because she knows he wouldn't fix it himself was really interesting.
We see Sarah take care of Joel almost as much as he takes of her (Giving him Vitamin C, making breakfast, knowing general knowledge he doesn't, telling him his shirt is inside out, insisting he has some kind of birthday celebration). But her acknowledging that obviously hurts him a bit. Even before the apocalypse, he was a Dad clearly trying his best but not always able to do everything he wanted.
When he can't save Sarah it just confirms his absolute worst fears - that he will never be able to do enough and that it's his daughter who suffers.
Then he meets Ellie, begins to take on a parental role, and it feels like it's happening again. He can't always protect her. She has to figure a lot out on her own.
His conversation with Tommy about failing "her" is about Ellie but it goes all the way back to Sarah, of course.
Even when Ellie tells him she'll him follow him anywhere once they've seen if she's the cure, his face falls again.
Once again, one of his girls is taking on the responsibility. She's reassuring *him* that everything will be fine, that she still sees a future together even though she's the one that is going to have to make sacrifices and it should probably be the other way round.
It's also why he is so still and sure in the hospital. He knows how he can help his daughter this time, and he sure as hell isn't going to let that opportunity go by.

have you thought about. how when joel and ellie are separated they become increasingly violent. when they're not in each other's presence they let the most unhinged and fucked up parts of themselves run free because. because they don't want the other to see that part of them. joel doesn't want ellie to see him this ruthless and cruel. ellie doesn't want joel to see her this angry and off the rails. they don't have each other as a tether to what's good so they appeal to their darkest versions instead
