Although Glee ended almost 2 years ago, and this question is a little to late, but what made you watch Glee?

You know what I love about writing Kurtbastian?

Kurt is a very distinct personality and voice, strong and witty and easy to characterize, since there is so much good emotional Glee canon, and Chris’s wonderful portrayals of him, to draw from.

With Sebastian though, there is a bit more freedom as to how he can grow and expand, and play off of what we know about Kurt,and I love that.

Because we never got anything concrete about his background established, besides his dad being a states attorney, there are a ton of options for viable backstories. You can do the “he’s an asshole because his life was tragic” thing or the “he’s an asshole just because it’s fun thing” lol. Regardless of which you pick, Kurt’s virtue can always challenge him to look within at why he is the way he is

For the few moments he was given to do so, Grant played Sebastian with this elusiveness that I just love. His smoldery stares and smarmy smiles and how easy and quick those one liners rolled off the tongue. And just how little of a fuck he gave about anything lol. He was such a fun villain, and later, a villain who was shown to have a soul deep down in there after all

I guess I’m coming to appreciate Sebastian more now because I’ve just finished watching all of what’s available of The Flash, and like, Barry Allen is NOTHING like Sebastian. There’s no way that doe eyed awkward nerd Barry would do or say some of the fuck shit Sebastian does lol. I had never seen Grant in anything else before, so I really see the differences he put into each of his characters now

There’s that one interview Grant gave right after he got cast as Seb, where he said he had headcanons for what Sebastian’s background was, and those ideas informed his portrayal of him. Forever wondering what those were or if he ever talked about them elsewhere. Regardless, now that I’ve seen more of his acting chops as The Flash, god I wish Glee had given Sebastian more development. At least fic can live on for him

Anyway my point is Grant and Chris are both so fucking good at those little subtle nuances that make a character a character. Thank you both for being the way you are and giving my (crack) ship fuel for the next 10000 years
