A cpl weeks ago I had @vpcrossfit take some photos of me for my new website and this one is hands down my fav. It embodies everything I LOVE about my fitness journey. Ten years ago I decided to lose weight. I didn't like how I looked or felt. Never in a million years did I EVER see myself picking up atlas stones. I thought sweating was gross.. Here I am today and I love the stones- they make me feel totally badass. I have a super strong back with lots of muscles and I love them. But I love how feminine this photo is while being bad AF too. I used to always wonder why people stood there like zombies with their arms out in front of them before they deadlifted. Then I realized how much it helps "set" my lats. Which that's a whole new issue. I JUST LEARNED HOW TO TRULY ENGAGE MY LATS. Yep, I'm super special like that. Depress the shoulders back and down, and for me, it helps to actually flex the lats themselves to "wake them up" and tell them I need their help. Sounds silly but whatever helps, right? And ps, if the lockout is the hardest part for you on deads, use bands.. It will definitely make you stronger there! (at CrossFit 813)

Ok, so I'm SUPER excited about these progress pics from one of my Inner Circle clients. It's been two months and she's losing fat, but here's the thing... Up until a couple weeks ago, this gal was on deployment. That's right.. On a ship, in the ocean, defending our great nation, without access to a lot of the fresh meat and produce we take for granted here in the comfort of our homes.
