Imperial Ships Daily Challenge

I’m making an art (or it could easily be for writing, too!) challenge for myself that others are more than welcome to try! It features as many Imperial ships as I managed to find (feel free to add more), but leaves several days of freedom for those like me who have busy days each week.

Orson Krennic and Galen Erso - On the Lookout

“My instinct is they’re after you, and not me. Go back to the ship. Tell them to power up and be ready to leave. I’ll be there within ten minutes.”

My part for the @thegalacticimperials Big Bang event: I got paired up with @ivnwrites and got to illustrate her fic: Till Only My Bones Remain!

AU where Krennic suddenly dropped out of the Academy and disappeared, only to resurface years later as the leader of a small crew of pirates. Hired by the alliance to raid the Eadu base, Krennic abducts Galen as part of the job, planning to turn him over once they reach Yavin.

Of course, things rarely go as planned for Krennic.

The year is 1923. It’s been almost half a decade since the end of World War I, and Galen Erso is an overworked detective assigned to the hotbed of Boston’s organized crime, the North End. When local working girls start to go missing, he and The Boston Post’s crime editor, Orson Krennic, must put aside their problems to solve the mystery.

I’m incredibly proud of this - it’s my first piece of completed historical fiction ever. I couldn’t have done it without the help and the collaboration of my wonderful artist, @mrsjadecurtiss. You can see their incredible art for the fic here!

We’re so excited to say that all fics posted before today have been revealed.

When on the 19th will the fics be released? midnight? As people turn them in?

They’ll be revealed at 12 PM (1200) EST on the 19th. However, authors can add to the collection after that, if they want to post their fic a little later!

Artists can start posting their artwork at any time on the 19th. Just don’t forget that you won’t be able to link to a fic until after it’s revealed, so we recommend posting after 12 PM.

Feel free to submit to the ao3 collection before the 19th - your post will be revealed on that day!

Submit to the IBB 2017 AO3 collection

We hope you’re as excited about the IBB as we are! Since the big reveal is right around the corner, we’ve set up a collection for all the works on AO3.

Here’s how to use it:

When you and your partner are finished with your project, check in with each other. Choose whether or not you want to embed art in your fic post on ao3 (we recommend embedding, but a link is also fine).

If you choose not to embed your art, wait to post it until the 19th, or set the post as private until that point. You can always add the link to the fic after the 19th.

How to embed an image in a fic on AO3

Some of you have asked for a tutorial on how to embed an image in a fic you’ve posted on AO3. It’s very simple, and will make your life a lot easier!

First, upload the image to a hosting site. This works with tumblr or with something like imgur. Anything that gives you a direct link to the actual image will work.

A direct link looks like this on imgur.

If you’re using an image on tumblr, it will be the .jpg url that appears after you click on the image. Make sure you use a .jpg url for this.

Second, open up your fic in the edit text window. Make sure you use the HTML posting box. 

The “work text” box should have the HTML clicked. If you want to add formatting, like bold and italics, you can do it in this box by using the html, but you can also add images!

Third, find the spot in your fic where you’d like to include the image. Paste or write this: <p><img src=“http:// THE DIRECT IMAGE LINK.JPG”/></p>

Last, preview your fic! The image should appear right where you placed it.

Submit to the IBB 2017 AO3 collection

We hope you're as excited about the IBB as we are! Since the big reveal is right around the corner, we've set up a collection for all the works on AO3.
