Foots almost healed...well not really but I'm out of time so it's healed enough. Back on the horse and prepping for the #f2wpro60 coming up Jan 26th! New age grapplers are taking the strength training side as serious as the actual rolling. Anyone who knows me knows that I might roll once a week on a good week but I still out roll the majority of my peers based solely off of athleticism, strength (and great instructors @hallertbjj, #byroncragg, @callosat5150 and @pterodactylbarbosa) now this is not an arrogant post his is a post to remind all my fellow athletes that technique with no cardio, no strength and a fat gut will only get you so far, push yourself off the mats also. Shout out to some of my beasts for working their butts ON every week, always pushing thru set backs and continuing to push their limits and get stronger. A small number of a very large group of strong woman that I train each week, all my clients push to get better everyday....shout out to all of them! From 145lbs to 215lbs, all of these lifts were personal bests. Now to clean up these squats a bit and keep on moving forward. Well...the Madrid family is gaining another beautiful woman today. Our family photos ended up being much more than that today, I asked, she was surprised, she was overwhelmed with happy emotions and luckily she said yes! I took a "what new stuff can I think of" workout day using the @trxtraining strap. Remember folks creativity within workouts is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome when trying to stay consistent. Use your outlets to keep things fresh and challenging. Use IG, use Facebook, use YouTube for ideas, just make sure to ask questions if you don't understand a movement or just simply want to know why it's beneficial. Some of these movements I'm attempting are good, some are bad, some are athletic and some make me look like an un athletic meat head....oh well though. I think it's important to show you the ins and outs of the movements and not just the "good takes." My goals are based around staying strong, getting under 195, staying athletic and building my conditioning. What are your goals??? Gotta have goals! I try to stay as functional as possible; meaning I want to be strong, conditioned, athletic, explosive, powerful, flexible and of course I want to look like I actually own a gym....so with that said, I will rarely ever train just one body part or complete any workout without some form of high intensity cardio thrown in. I have workout A.D.D; I constantly need to switch it up so I can keep a good regimen going and keep my body guessing. My advice to my clients or anyone asking is just that, keep your body guessing; unless you're training for some type of body building show, in my opinion, training body parts separately is unnecessary. Workouts should be challenging mentally and physically, they should test your limits and have you feeling like you actually did something when they are done. Building glutes all day everyday!! Of the 15-20 different movements I put @_alliesalas through today maybe 3 of them were with actual weight based resistance. 95% of the exercises utilized resistance bands as the "weight." Angles angles angles! Using different angles and understanding your body is key to building your glutes. No 2 bodies are the same so what works for someone else may not work for you. Experiment, change your angles and foot positioning on different movements.
