Soul Gem AU: The Somnium Box and Jewels
Big thanks to @belladazeblog916 for helping with naming the jewels.
Lore (as of now):
The name of the box is the Somnium Box and it was founded by Clara (Klar-ah). Later the gems were wielded by her and her three friends: Arthur, Cyrus, and Phillip in the late 1700’s.
You’ve met Clara and Cyrus, but soon you’ll met Arthur and Phillip. You’ll also find out who they are, but there are clues.
The jewels inside the box give the holder powers and each gem gives their holder a certain power.
The jewels were found in black geodes that Clara was able to find in an old cave. She was told countless times that the cave was off limits, but she ignored them and went ahead. There were times she asked her best friend Phillip to cover for her.
There’s (probably) more gems, but so far 4 have been shown.
Names of the Jewels and their Powers:
Blue-Topaz Azul-Healing-Lewis
Green-Viridis Jadite-Electric-Oliver
Pink-Roseus Tempus Spinel-Time--Sara
Yellow-Lutum Sphalerite-Protection-Wiatt
The gems powers fit their holders wishes or talents. For example:
Sara having time powers is because she regrets the entire incident with her three bullies and wishes she could’ve stopped it.
Wiatt having protection powers is because he’s worried about Lewis and wants to protect him.
Oliver’s electric powers are his connections with coding. Though it’s also my way of referencing his TV situation in the main canon.
Lewis being a healer is how he’s caring and wants to help and comfort his friends, plus the group needed a healer.
If anything, yes the four could’ve gotten different powers if they had different goals and wishes in mind. For example, Lewis could have electricity powers and Oliver could be healing if that’s their element.
The powers do connect with their souls and soul essence. I don't want to spoil TOO much, but their powers can get stronger or weaker depending on their emotions.
I'd like to share more, but I don't want to spoil TOO much of the story and more information will come in Arc 2. Yes this series has 2 parts too it, which are Magia (Arc 1) and Connection (Arc 2). I do hint at a 3rd Arc, but that's a maybe.

Dreamers of Myths & Legends Chap.8- Welcome Home to Galar
Here is the next chapter! We’re also getting into more Mew research as I held that off for like the past 5 chapters. This fic is giving anime vibes and I want to keep it that way.
So I brought this up to tumblr, but never on here. If you noticed I’ve been writing long chapters for my fanfics, and it can get a bit exhausting. While looking at the notes for this chapter, I realized with all I have this chapter would be longer. With that I’ve made the decision to split certain ideas into parts starting with this one. This is to make the chapters a bit easy on myself without stressing out over filling up the ideas I’ve planned since this AU started. Some of the ideas I have may be split into 2 or 3 chapters, the most would be 4.
Big thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader.
Enjoy!
The Dream Quartet were on a plane going to their next researcher quest. This quest excited Lewis as they would be heading to his hometown, the Galar region. Throughout the entire flight, Lewis was excited to be back in his home region.
Wiatt glanced at his best friend and smiled, “you seem excited.” He said.
“I am!” Lewis beamed. “I finally get to show you guys the Galar Regin!”
“You’ve been excited since this morning,” Sara added.
Flashback:
“Really?!” Lewis shouted. “We’re going to the Galar Region?”
Eric nodded, “I got in touch with someone who has info on Mew.”
Wiatt’s eyes widened as he got up, equally excited as Lewis. “Really?!” He asked.
“Eevee!” Oddity exclaimed, excited like his trainer.
“I figured these two would be excited,” Sara commented seeing her two friends getting excited.
Sara then felt Lewis grab her hand. “Come on darling, we don’t want to be late!” Lewis exclaimed as he dragged his friend out of the facility.
“W-Wait! Lewis!” Sara complained as her friend started to run straight to the airport.
Flashback ends:
Lewis chuckled, “I-I guess I was too excited darling.” He replied. “But, I get to give my best friends the Galar Region experience!”
“Meow! Meow!” Sprigatito exclaimed, excited as well.
The group chuckled, seeing they were all excited to get to Galar. Oddity glanced at the window and his eyes widened as he saw the view of Galar right below them.
“Eevee! Eevee!” Oddity called out.
The Dream Quartet looked down and saw the view of Galar right below. They smiled, but Lewis’s smile was wider than the others.
“We’re here!” Lewis exclaimed.
Once the plane landed, Lewis and Sprigatito were the first ones off the plane. Lewis saw Galar hadn’t changed at all since he left. Sprigatito looked around Galar and saw it was different than back home.
Wiatt and the others got off the plane and went to Lewis’s side.
“Welcome to the Galar region!” Lewis beamed. “So what do you darlings want to do first? Shop, eat, I know all the best spots!”
Wiatt chuckled, he had never seen Lewis excited before, then again Galar was his home region, so it was to be expected. Lewis wanted to give him and his friends the best experience in Galar. “Well,” Wiatt spoke up, “we should see who Eric wanted us to meet before we do anything fun.”
“Did Eric say where we’re meeting his person?” Oliver asked.
“They live somewhere called the Wild Area.” Wiatt answered.
Lewis’s eyes widened and smiled putting his hands together. “Hey! That’s where I live!” He exclaimed. “How about we stop by my place before meeting the person, Eric requested?”
Wiatt and the others looked at each other and smiled, “sounds like a plan!” He replied.
“Vee! Vee!” Oddity exclaimed.
The four chuckled as Lewis led them to the train station to get to the Wild Area.
Off the plane, Team Rocket in disguise in trench coats and hats, were curious to where Wiatt and his friends were going. The trio were originally here on vacation, but upon seeing the Dream Quartet they decided to follow them.
“I wonder where the twerps are going this time?” Meowth asked.
“Let’s not wonder,” Jessie stated. “Let’s follow and find out.”
James and Meowth nodded, and the trio went to the train station to follow Wiatt and his friends. Once they got on the train, they decided to sit down in the booth right in front of Wiatt and his friends. Team Rocker chuckled that they didn’t get caught.
Oddity took notice of the evil trio, but Team Rocket turned away and whistled. The Eevee tilted his head in confusion, not recognizing Team Rocket in their disguise. He brushed it off and relaxed on Wiatt’s lap.
During the train ride through the Wild Area, Wiatt and the others were in awe at all the sights the area had to offer. Oddity and Sprigatito’s eyes widened seeing many wild Pokemon roaming from the window.
“Do you like it, darling?” Lewis asked his Pokemon.
“Meow!” Sprigatito mewled.
“Think we can explore after we get what we need?” Sara asked.
“Sure, darling.” Lewis replied.
On Team Rocket’s side, they smirked seeing all the Pokemon in the Wild Area. “Look at all the Pokemon around here.” Jessie beamed.
“Yeah, why didn’t we strike here the last time we were in Galar?” Meowth asked.
“How about we grab the Pokemon from the Wild Area then we grab the twerps Pokemon?” James suggested.
“Perfect!” Meowth exclaimed. “With a place filled with Pokemon, we might find some rare ones!”
“Very rare!” Jessie and James exclaimed.
“True that, darlings.” Lewis interrupted.
Team Rocket turned to Lewis and saw he overheard some of the conversation. They froze in fear hoping the young boy didn’t hear their master plan.
“Is this your first time visiting the Wild Area?“ Lewis asked.
“Uh…y-yes. We’ve been wanting to visit for so long.” James lied.
“Yeah, just three friends on vacation!” Jessie lied.
Lewis smiled, “Well I hope you like it, the Wild Area is a huge place with many different areas and different Pokémon.”
Team Rocket sighed as they imagined the different Pokemon in the Wild Area with a happy Giovanni crying tears of joy.
“I can’t wait!” Meowth exclaimed.
Soon the train started to slow down as it made its way to the station. Once it came to a full stop, everyone got off the train. Team Rocket was the first one off and started to make their way to the Wild Area hoping to get out of their disguises and start scheming.
Lewis and the others got off the train, smiling seeing Team Rocket have fun. “Well, they look happy,” Wiatt said.
“They sure are, darling.” Lewis replied. “Come on, let’s get going.”
The group nodded and started to make their way through the Wild Area.
Rustle Rustle
Oliver gasped and turned around hearing something from the bushes. However, there was no one in sight.
“Oliver?” Wiatt asked. Oliver turned to his friend. “You okay?”
“Y-Yeah,” Oliver replied. “I thought I heard something.” Ignoring it, he continued walking with his friends.
Once the group walked further away a pair of white ears with orange and yellow markings appeared from the bushes. The Pokemon stuck it’s head out more seeing the group before smirking. This particular Pokemon is Scorbunny, and he couldn’t wait to have a little fun.
“So who are we seeing?” Oliver asked.
Lewis looked at the note Eric gave him, and upon reading the name he froze up.
“What’s wrong?” Wiatt asked.
Lewis slowly looked up and whimpered. “My mom.” He realized she was the person who had the answers for Mew, Danica Bright.
The group was getting close to Lewis’s house, which was blue with a dark blue roof, and the fence had paintings that Lewis had drawn when he was a kid till recent times. Taking a deep breath, Lewis knocked on the door and waited.
Not a moment went by as the door opened and Danica came out. A smile grew on her face seeing her son at the door. Danica had long light brown hair and green eyes like her son. She wore a white sweater over a dark blue dress.
“Lewis!” Danica exclaimed, hugging her son tight. “Oh, my baby boy it’s so good to see you!”
Lewis groaned seeing his mom embarrass him in front of his friends. Wiatt and his friends smiled and chuckled a bit seeing Danica cuddling her son.
“Mom…” Lewis groaned.
Danica chuckled and let go of her son, “sorry, dear. I just missed you since you left.” She said.
Lewis sighed and gave a small smile, “I missed you too.”
Danica hugged her son again before quickly letting go. She then turned to her son’s friends and realized she hadn’t met them physically yet.
“Oh, Mom, this is Sara, Oliver, Wiatt, and his Eevee, Oddity.” Lewis introduced his friends.
“Nice to meet you.” The three said in reply.
Danica smiled and hugged her son’s friends tightly, to the point they couldn’t even breathe.
“M-Mom!?” Lewis exclaimed.
Danica ignored her son’s cries as she continued hugging his friends. “Oh thank you so much for taking care of my son!” She beamed.
“No…problem…” The three replied, muffled.
“Meow,” Sprigatito spoke up. The Grass Cat felt offended she wasn’t introduced.
Danica heard the Pokemon and let go of her son’s friends giving them a chance to breathe.
“Oh sorry darling.” Lewis apologized. “Mom, this is my partner, Sprigatito.”
“Meow. Meow.” Sprigatito said, introducing herself. Her tail wagged excited to meet her trainer’s mom.
Danica smiled and kneeled down at the Grass Cat Pokemon. She petted the Pokemon who let out a purr. “Aww, she’s cute.” She beamed. “Have you been taking good care of my little starlight?”
Lewis blushed in embarrassment that his mom dropped his nickname in front of his friends. The group snickered upon hearing that.
“Starlight?” Sara asked.
“Shut up,” Lewis grumbled, causing his friends to laugh even more.
Danica chuckled and got up, “well, come in you guys.” She said, opening the door wider as her son and his friends walked in.
Upon walking in they heard barking, which made Sprigatito freeze. Coming down the stairs was a Yamper and a Lilipup.
“Yamper! Lillipup!” Lewis beamed as he kneeled down and hugged his mom’s Pokémon. “Darlings, I missed you guys.”
The two dog Pokemon barked happily as Lewis petted them and in return, they gave him kisses.
Sprigatito growled seeing the two puppy Pokemon give their trainer a lot of love and affection.
Lewis heard his Pokemon growl and turned to face her, chuckling. “Lillipup, Yamper, this is my Pokémon Sprigatito.”
Sprigatito growled as Lillipup went over to the Grass Cat Pokémon first. He sniffed her, which gave Sprigatito some ease before going over to give her a lick on the face.
“Meow,” Sprigatito said.
Lillipup barked, which made Sprigatito smile and meow back. Yamper then went over to Sprigatito and sniffed her too before nuzzling her. At first, Sprigatito didn’t mind it, but the sparks from Yamper’s fur made her jump back and hiss, making everyone laugh.
Lewis then carried Sprigatito and held her. “So Mom, you said you found information about our research?”
“I sure did. I found it in the attic.” Danica answered.
She led her son and his friends upstairs, before pulling up the ladder and opening the attic. Unfortunately, a downpour of items came down on top of everyone.
Lewis was the first to come out of the pile, “Mom! Did you forget to clean up?!” He exclaimed.
Danica came out of the pile and chuckled. “Sorry, when Eric told me your mission, I remembered I had something in the attic given to me from my grandfather.” She explained.
Lewis sighed, as the rest of his friends came out of the pile.
After escaping, Danica dug through the pile trying to find what she planned on showing her son and his friends.
“Well, this will be a while,” Wiatt commented.
“Hey, while my mom is looking for it, why don’t I show you guys something my mom and I do?” Lewis asked, walking to another room.
“Uh… sure.” Oliver replied as he, Wiatt, and Sara followed their friend. Lewis took his three friends to another room and opened the door.
His friend’s eyes widened seeing some Pokémon resting and playing. “Woah!” They exclaimed.
“Look at all the Pokemon!” Oliver exclaimed.
“Are these all yours?” Wiatt asked.
Lewis shook his head. “Nope. These are all wild Pokemon.” He replied. “You see darlings, because there’s no Pokemon Center in the Wild Area, my mom takes care of all the injured Pokemon that come around here,” Lewis explained.
“Wow,” Sara replied. “Sounds like my caretaker back in Kalos.”
As the group was discussing, Oddity saw a silhouette peeking from the window. “Eevee!” Oddity exclaimed.
Everyone turned to the Evolution Pokemon, “Oddity, what’s wrong?” Wiatt asked.
“Eevee! Eevee!” Oddity exclaimed, trying to tell his trainer he saw something outside.
Wiatt put Oddity down and the normal-type ran outside to find out who was spying on them. He looked around hoping to find who that silhouette was, but there was no one in sight.
“Eevee?” Oddity questioned.
Wiatt came outside and looked around seeing nothing either. “Hmm…maybe it was just a Pokemon passing by.”
“Vee.” Oddity wondered.
“Come on, let’s get inside,” Wiatt said, as he walked back inside Lewis’s house.
Oddity blinked and glared before following his trainer back inside. Suddenly, a pebble came flying by and hit Oddity over the head. “Eevee!” Oddity growled, but saw no one. “Eevee?”
“Oddity, come on!” Wiatt called out.
The Eevee sighed and went back inside. From the bushes, Scorbunny smirked and snickered.
While the Dream Quartet sat down in the living room, waiting for Danica to find what she wanted to show her son and his friends. The older woman smiled thinking she had found what she was looking for. “I think I found it!” She beamed.
The Dream Quartet turned to see the older woman come by and showed a photo of Lewis as a toddler wearing a Pichu onesie. Wiatt, Sara, Oliver, Oddity, and Sprigatito tried to hold in their laughter, but Lewis blushed in embarrassment seeing his baby picture.
“Mom!” Lewis yelled.
His friends then laughed hard, as Lewis covered his face with his hands. Danica looked at what she pulled and realized she grabbed the wrong thing. “Oops. Sorry sweetie.” She said, putting the photo behind her back as she went back to the pile of stuff and found the right item; a torn piece of paper. “Here it is!”
Danica walked back to the group, who had calmed down after that funny moment. She sat next to her son as she showed him and his friends what looked to be a map of an mysterious island. On top of it, the words -away Island, half of the name.
“This is part of a map for a place called Faraway Island,” Danica explained.
The Dream Quartet was in awe seeing part of the map. “This is where Mew lives?” Wiatt asked.
Danica nodded in reply. Lewis picked up the map before looking up at his mother, “Mom, how long have you been keeping this?” He asked.
“This map belonged to your grandparents,” Danica answered. “They always explored everywhere, finding rare Pokemon, and Faraway Island was one of their travels.”
Lewis put the map down as his friends looked into it again. “What happened to the other pieces of the map?” Sara asked, mentioning how the map was torn.
Danica sighed. “My parents went on so many adventures, and that also meant they encountered dangerous people on their journeys.” She explained. “To avoid those dangerous people, they ripped pieces of their maps and gave a piece to people they trusted with one of those pieces being given to me.”
Wiatt sighed in disappointment, now he and his friends had to find the pieces before they could get closer to finding Mew.
“So I guess the search is ongoing?” Lewis asked, sighing in disappointment.
“Pretty much.” Sara sighed, disappointed as well. The three let out a sigh, but not Oliver.
The taller boy looked at the map, analyzing how many pieces they needed to find. “From the looks of it, we’re missing two pieces,” Oliver concluded. He turned to Danica “Do you know where the other pieces could be?”
“Hmmm…” Danica thought. “If I can recall one of the pieces is in Johto.”
Oliver smiled. “Hey that’s my home region. Maybe one day we’ll stop by there once we get information.” He explained.
“Sounds like a plan!” Sara exclaimed.
Wiatt felt his stomach rumble. Not long after Lewis’s stomach started to rumble as well.
Danica chuckled “Looks like you four are hungry.”
“Y-Yeah.” Lewis chuckled. “I got so excited we didn’t have time to eat breakfast.”
Danica smiled. “Well why don’t I cook you and your friend’s favorite curry.”
Lewis’s eyes light up like stars, “you mean, your sweet n’ sour curry?” He asked.
Danica nodded. “I’ll get it cooking for you guys.”
“Great! Thanks Mom!” Lewis exclaimed.
Danica smiled and walked to the kitchen with Yamper and Lillipup in tow. Lewis was excited to eat his mom’s cooking, something he missed since he left.
“What’s Sweet n’ Sour curry?” Wiatt asked.
“A secret family recipe, darling,” Lewis answered. “It’s a curry dish where my mom uses half sweet berries and half sour berries mixed into the curry and,” he paused before putting his hand on Wiatt’s shoulder. “I’ll let you try it for yourself.”
Wiatt smiled excitedly to try Lewis’s family curry. From how Lewis was explaining it, it sounded pretty good.
Danica came back in with a nervous smile on her face. “Uh…sweetie?” She spoke up. “I have a problem.”
Lewis groaned and looked down, “let me guess, you forgot the ingredients?” He asked.
“Oh, I have the ingredients,” Danica answered. “I just don’t have the berries for the curry.”
“Great.” Lewis sighed.
Danica gave a small smile, “Lewis, why don’t you and your friends collect berries in the Wild Area for the curry?”
“W-What?!” Lewis asked, shocked.
“Hey, don’t worry Lewis,” Sara spoke up. “You said it was okay, we can explore the Wild Area while we collect the berries.”
Lewis got nervous until Wiatt put his hands on his shoulders. Lewis looked up slightly blushing at his friend. “Come on Lewis, it could be fun!”
“Eevee! Vee!” Oddity exclaimed.
Lewis gave a nervous smile and nodded. “Alright, guess we’ll go.”
“Alright! Yes!” Sara and Wiatt cheered.
“Eevee!” Oddity cheered.
Danica smiled and dug into her pocket for the recipe. She found it and handed it to her son. Lewis unfolded the recipe and saw what the curry needed:
Two Pecha Berries, Two Oran Berries, Two Tomato Berries, Two Leppa Berries, and Two Sitrus Berries.
“Okay! I got it memorized.” Lewis said, putting the recipe in his pocket.
“Goodluck, my Starlight!” Danica replied, hugging her son tight.
Lewis groaned as his friends chuckled again at his nickname.
Outside the house, Scorbunny overheard everything and smirked. He let out an evil chuckle as he went to set up his plans
Lewis and his friends went to the Wild Area. Sara sent out her Skiddo and Piplup to help with finding the berries for the curry.
“Alright, here are the ingredients right here,” Lewis said, showing his friends the berries needed for the curry. “Now the berries are found in berry trees scattered around the Wild Area.” He then grabbed his Rotom Phone and sent his friends a photo of a berry tree.
Once Wiatt, Oliver, and Sara’s Rotom Phones beeped as they grabbed it and looked at the photos of what the berry trees looked like.
“How about we split into teams? Oddity and Skiddo can be one team, Piplup and Sprigatito can be one, Lewis and I can be a team, and Oliver and Sara are another.” Wiatt explained.
Lewis smiled hearing he’d be partnered with Wiatt,  Sara glared and crossed her arms.
“Wait? Who said you and Lewis should be a team?” Sara asked.
“I did? I planned the teams.” Wiatt replied, crossing his arms and facing Sara.
Sara crossed her arms as well, “well if anyone is doing team planning it’s me, and I think I’ll do better matching teams then you.”
Wiatt glared at the girl, growling a little bit.
“Besides, why do you want to be partnered with Lewis?” Sara asked.
Wiatt’s eyes widened as he blushed looking at Lewis who was confused. “Uh…I just want to spend time with him.” He lied.
Sara blinked confused, she noticed Wiatt was blushing but didn’t think much of it.
“How about the Pokémon being one team, and the four of us could be a team?” Lewis suggested.
Sara and Wiatt looked at each other, and the blush faded from Wiatt’s cheeks.
“I guess that’s fine.” Sara sighed.
“I agree,” Wiatt added.
“Splendid!” Lewis beamed. He turned to Sprigatito and Piplup. “Now darlings once you and the others have found the berries needed, signal us using Leafage and Bubble Beam, okay?”
“Meow!” Sprigatito replied.
“Piplup! Pip!” Piplup replied.
Skiddo heard rustling in the bushes and turned around. She glared as she walked over to the bushes to check out what was over there. Sara took notice of her Pokémon walking off and called out to her.
“Skiddo! Where are you going?”
Skiddo bleats while she points at the bushes with her hooves telling her trainer that she heard something in the bushes. Sara glanced at the bushes and went over to look only to see nothing.
“Skiddo. I don’t see anything.” Sara reassured her. She walked back to the group, but not before petting her Pokémon on the head.
Skiddo knew she heard something. She glanced over at the bushes again and glared.
“Eevee?” Oddity asked, walking over to the Mount Pokémon.
Skiddo snapped out of her thoughts and bleated in reply that she’s okay. She then ushered the Evolution Pokemon to help find berries for their lunch.
The group split up to find the ingredients. Once they were gone, Scorbunny appeared out of the bushes, snickering as he followed the group.
The Rabbit Pokémon followed Oddity and Skiddo to a Pecha Berry tree. From the looks of it, the two Pokemon saw something rustle in the trees.
“Eevee!” Oddity called out.
Appearing from the branches was a Skwovet with some berries in its mouth.
“Eevee!” Oddity said. Using a nearby stick he drew the Pecha Berries and Leppa Berries, explaining it’s for their lunch.
“Skwo!” Skwovet replied, retreating to the trees and throwing some Pecha Berries for the two Pokemon. Once that was done, Skwovet came down and told the two Pokemon where the Leppa Berries were.
“Skwo! Skwovet!” Skwovet explained, pointing at the nearby trees.
“Vee! Eevee!” Oddity replied. He and Skiddo thank the Cheeky Pokemon and leave to find Leppa Berries.
Skwovet waved goodbye seeing the duo leave to find berries.
Scorbunny snickered and ran off, hoping to get ahead of Oddity and Skiddo. He then saw an apple tree and snickered, having an idea. The Rabbit Pokémon heard Oddity and Skiddo walk by and hid behind the tree.
Scorbunny waited until the time was right, once Oddity and Skiddo were near his tree, he kicked it causing a bunch of apples to fall on top of them. The two were knocked out as Scorbunny appeared in front of them and laughed.
Skiddo was the first to awaken due to the fire-type’s laughter and growled at him. She escaped from the pile of apples and used her vines to grab him. Scorbunny froze in shock as he was pulled closer to Skiddo, who glared at them.
Scorbunny felt scared and chuckled nervously, almost telling the Mount Pokemon it was just a prank. The latter however didn’t think it was funny and proceeded to throw Scorbunny to the other side of the forest, spinning like a top.
Skiddo huffed, hoping she’d never see that fire-type Pokemon ever again. She then turned to Oddity and saw him slowly waking up, struggling to get out of the pile of apples. Skiddo bleated and used her vines to help Oddity out of the pile. She then brushed Oddity’s fur with said vines.
“Vee Eevee!” Oddity replied, thanking his friend.
Skiddo bleated in reply, happy to help her friend, and the two continued off to find Leppa Berries.
Scorbunny was still spinning around until he crashed into a tree. Scorbunny groaned as some berries landed on his head before collapsing on the ground.
Sprigatito and Piplup had been on their way to collect Oran Berries and Sitrus Berries when they saw Scorbunny on the ground. The two were in shock and ran over to the rabbit Pokémon trying to wake him up.
“Piplup Pip?” Piplup asked, hoping Scorbunny was alright,
“Meow. Meow.” Sprigatito asked the same thing.
Scorbunny slowly opened his eyes and saw the two Pokemon, looking at him in concern. “Scor…” He weakly replied.
The Grass Cat Pokemon and The Penguin Pokemon were relieved seeing Scorbunny was alright. “Pip. Piplup!” Piplup exclaimed.
Scorbunny jumped up in surprise. He remembered that these two Pokemon were part of Wiatt’s group. He took a deep breath to relax and told the two Pokemon he was alright.
Sprigatito and Piplup smiled, as the Penguin Pokemon asked the fire-type about berries. “Piplup. Pip pip Piplup.”
“Scorbun?” Scorbunny asked.
“Meow. Meow.” Sprigatito replied. She told Scorbunny how her trainer needed berries to make a meal, and the two were looking for Oran Berries and Sitrus Berries.
“Scor. Scorbun bun.” Scorbunny replied, promising to show the two Pokemon where the berries were. Sprigatito and Piplup’s eyes widened and sparkled, finding a Pokemon that could help them. Scorbunny ushered them to follow him. The two Pokemon followed the fire-type from behind, while the latter smirked seeing these two were easy to trick.
In a farther part of the forest, Oddity and Skiddo finally found the Leppa Berries and were finally picking them. Once they gathered enough they decided to head back to Wiatt and the others.
As they were heading back, Skiddo saw the prankster Scorbunny again with their friends. She growled and went to follow the fire-type seeing where he was going to take Sprigatito and Piplup.
“Eevee?” Oddity asked, wondering if Skiddo was okay, and decided to follow her.
Scorbunny led Sprigatito and Piplup to a bunch of trees each with many different berries on them. Their eyes widened seeing many berries including Oran and Sitrus Berries. Scorbunny found a pebble and kicked it at the tree causing some Sitrus Berries to fall off.
Sprigatito and Piplup beamed in joy seeing the berries as Scorbunny picked up some Sitrus Berries and handed them to Piplup.
“Pip Piplup.” Piplup thanked the fire type.
“Scorbunny. Score.” Scorbunny replied. The fire-type was ready to kick another pebble to a tree but smirked seeing a Vespiqueen nest and was ready to kick the pebble there.
Scorbunny bounced the pebble around with his foot before smirking and kicking the pebble towards the Vespiqueen nest.
However, Skiddo used Razor Leaf knocking the pebble out of the way, as it hit another berry tree. Scorbunny, Sprigatito and Piplup turned to Skiddo, who was fuming with anger.
“Piplup?” Piplup asked his teammate, confused.
“Meow. Meow.” Sprigatito added.
Skiddo belated as she used her vines to point at Scorbunny. She explained to her fellow Pokemon friends what Scorbunny did to her and Oddity. Piplup and Sprigatito looked shocked and turned towards the Rabbit Pokémon.
“Meow. Meow?” Sprigatito asked, wondering what her fellow grass Pokemon said was true.
Scorbunny tried to find his way out of his predicament, but he was cornered by the Mount Pokémon. The fire-type gave a nervous chuckle and walked over to Skiddo while reassuring the group this was all a prank. He put his arm around Skiddo, which made her glare at the fire-type.
The Rabbit Pokémon laughed as he nudged Skiddo, which made her angry by the second. Scorbunny then made the mistake of smacking Skiddo as he continued to laugh.
Skiddo growled and grabbed Scorbunny with her vines, launching him away, almost like how Team Rocket blasted off.
Oddity, Piplup and Sprigatito looked horrified over their friend angry at the fire-type Pokemon. “Eevee?” Oddity asked.
“Piplup Pip,” Piplup said, reminding Skiddo she took it too far.
Skiddo turned to glare at her friends causing them to huddle in fear at the grass-type’s anger. Skiddo bleats, telling the trio to follow her to find the last of the berries for Lewis and his friends. The trio followed the Mount Pokémon still in fear over their friend’s anger.
Speaking of Lewis and his friends, the group finally found Tomato Berries and were ready to head back to where they split off. However, Lewis and Sara got worried for their Pokemon as they haven’t sent out the signal.
“Think Skiddo, Piplup, and Sprigatito are alright?” Sara asked.
“I’m sure their fine, darling,” Lewis reassured her.
Sara wasn’t convinced, but soon she heard a scream. She looked up and her eyes widened seeing Scorbunny come crashing down towards them. “Um…guys.” Sara pointed at the sky.
Wiatt, Lewis, and Oliver looked up shocked seeing Scorbunny screaming as he fell, and landed on Oliver.
“Oliver!” Wiatt, Lewis, and Sara shouted.
Oliver and Scorbunny were dizzy from the landing as Torchic danced above their heads. The two both shook it off and looked at each other in the eyes, and the two felt like it was destiny.
“Darling, are you alright?” Lewis asked.
“I’m fine,” Oliver replied, looking up at his friend rubbing his head. He then looked over at Scorbunny who rubbed his head before getting off of Oliver.
“Where did this Scorbunng come from?” Sara asked. “I never seen one fall right out of the sky.”
“Hmm…” Wiatt wondered. He grabbed his Rotom Phone and scared Scorbunny into the Pokedex.
Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon. A Fire-Type.
The special pads on its feet and nose radiate tremendous heat. When it does warm ups Scorbunny can use the full extent of its power.
Scorbunny smiled proudly, twitching his ears and putting his paws at his hips. “Scorbunny. Scorbun!” He beamed.
Sara smiled, “aww, he’s so cute!” She beamed.
Scorbunny gulped and blushed as his ears went down.
The Dream Quartet chuckled. “Guess someone’s a little embarrassed being called cute.” Oliver said.
Scorbunny lifted one of his ears and glanced at Oliver, who smiled at him. “Scorbunny.” He said as he lifted his other ear.
“So where did you come from?” Oliver asked.
Scorbunny chuckled and was about to explain, but heard the sound of Skiddo growling at him. The group turned to Skiddo and saw the anger in her eyes and the fear in Oddity, Piplup, and Sprigatito’s eyes.
“Skiddo,” Sara spoke up.
Scorbunny realized he was in danger now, as he hid behind Oliver for protection.
Skiddo growled seeing Scorbunny, she bleated seeing him, ready to take him down.
“Skiddo, what’s wrong?” Sara asked.
Skiddo bleated and explained to her trainer that Scorbunny had been nothing but trouble since they all arrived in the Wild Area.
“You’re saying Scorbunny has been causing trouble?” Sara asked.
Skiddo nodded and bleated in anger. She explained to her trainer what Scorbunny did, which caused everyone to turn and face the Rabbit Pokemon. Scorbunny gave a nervous smile as he stepped back away from the group.
“Scorbunny,” Oliver spoke up.
Scorbunny froze in fear as he slowly glanced at Oliver.
Skiddo saw the fire-type trying to leave and growled as she was ready use Take Down on him, despite the warning from her trainer.
“Skiddo, wait!” Sara shouted.
Scorbunny got scared and quickly saw a pebble and smirked. Using his foot he kicked the pebble around a few times before the pebble caught on fire. This was Socrbunny’s way of using Ember. Scorbunny used his Ember attack on Skiddo, causing major damage thanks to her being a grass-type.
“Skiddo, no!” Sara yelled.
Skiddo fell to the ground, knocked out, and chared from the Ember attack.
“Skiddo!” Sara yelled running over to her partner.
Oliver looked down at Scorbunny with a glare. “Why did you do that?!” He yelled.
Scorbunny smirked and stuck his tongue out before running away.
Oliver felt hurt thinking Scorbunny was a sweet but kind Pokemon, not knowing it was mischievous. He tried to go after it, but stopped seeing Sara tear up over her Skiddo being defeated.
Lewis put his hand on Sara’s shoulder causing her to look up at her friend. “Darling, we have to get back to my house.” He said. “My mom can treat Skiddo.”
Sara sniffled and wiped the tears from her eyes, and nodded. She grabbed Skiddo’s Pokeball and put Skiddo back in. “Let’s hurry!” Sara exclaimed.
“Right.” Her friends replied. The four and their Pokémon rushed back to Lewis’s house to get Skiddo treated.
Once seeing the Dream Quartet leave, Scorbunny showed some guilt for what he did to Skiddo. However, it shook it off and walked away continuing to kick around a pebble.

Can A Human Date A Merman Chap. 2-Back to School
Next chapter of my Mermaid AU! I’m happy you guys are enjoying this lovely fanfic! Sorry for the delay of Chapter 2 it was in my backlog for a couple of months, but its here and ready to go!
I’m also posting this the night before I go on vacation, and I’m STILL not packed yet!!
Thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader.
Enjoy!
Ever since meeting Wiatt, Lewis would stop by the beach every day just to see him. From there, they share stories about their day, or in Wiatt’s case his adventures and treasure hunts. When school started for Lewis he talked about his day as well as his two best friends.
It was like that for the next 8 years, and during those times together the two got closer, which made the merman start to have feelings for the human boy.
He didn’t want to wait any longer. Wiatt was ready to tell Lewis how he felt about him, and hopefully, he’d like him back.
By late afternoon, Lewis visited Wiatt for one of their daily visits. He looked back to make sure no one was following behind and once it was clear he kept walking till he made it to his and Wiatt’s secret meeting place.
Lewis smiled seeing Wiatt, who was waiting for him. The merman smiled, “Lewis!” He beamed as he swam closer to the shore as Lewis went over to his friend.
“Hi darling,” Lewis replied.
“I was wondering when you’ll arrive!”
“Yeah sorry,” Lewis said, rubbing the back of his head. “I had to prepare for school tomorrow.”
Wiatt sighed, “Back to school tomorrow, huh?” He asked.
Lewis nodded, “yep, so back to limited meetups again.” He sighed. Lewis sat down and took off his flip-flops and dipped his feet in the water.
The merman gave a small smile and put his hand on his human friend’s lap. “Hey if we did that for 8 years we’ll make it through,.” Wiatt said.
Lewis smiled. “Yeah.” He replied. “While I’m gone what will you be doing?”
“My treasure hunt as always, duh!” Wiatt reminded his best friend.
“Oh right,” Lewis replied, chuckling nervously.
Wiatt chuckled back before continuing. “But remember when I told you I’m in the middle of a major discovery?”
Lewis nodded in reply remembering his merman friend.
“Well, I found the coordinates to one of the treasures I’ve been hunting for,” Wiatt said, pulling out a treasure map and laying it out for Lewis to see.
The map showed the deep ocean and in the middle of it was a blue crystal. Lewis’s eyes widened with how big the crystal was. “Darling, you're going to be hunting for a crystal?” He asked.
Wiatt chuckled. “Yep!” He replied. “I heard this crystal holds the key to what I’ve been searching for my whole life!”
Lewis chuckled. “Amazing darling!” He beamed.
Wiatt blushed and let out a chuckle. “It is!” He looked back at the map, and a frown slowly appeared on his face.
Lewis took notice of his friend’s expression. “You alright darling?” He asked.
“Yeah, just that this was something my father and grandfather had been searching for years before they disappeared and I might be able to complete their legacy,” Wiatt explained.
Lewis smiled and put his hand on the merman’s, “Wiatt you got this! I believe in you!” He exclaimed.
Wiatt’s eyes widened as he blushed. Lewis saw his friend blushing and blushed as well. “Thanks Lewis,” The merman replied
“No problem, darling.” The two glanced at each other as their blushes got brighter and warmer. The two glanced at each other and smiled. However, it was interrupted when Lewis’s mother called for him.
“Lewis! Come on sweetie, it’s almost time for dinner!” His mother called out.
“Coming!” Lewis yelled. He got up and was ready to leave, but not before he turned back to his merman friend. “Will I see you tomorrow after school?”
Wiatt nodded, “same time as before?” He asked.
“Yep.”
“Okay, see you tomorrow!” Wiatt then dived underwater and swam off. Once he was at a safe distance he saw Lewis meeting up with his mother as the two walked back home to have dinner. Wiatt smiled and dived back into the water as a determined look appeared in his face.
The following morning was the first day of school. Lewis was putting on a yellow sweater vest over a white shirt, a pair of tan pants, and light blue and white sneakers. He looked at himself in the mirror and grabbed his backpack, which had star pins as well as a heart-shaped pin that had the gay male flag colors.
He went downstairs and put his backpack on the chair before going to the fridge and pulled out a loaf of bread and butter. Lewis took out two slices of bread and put them in the toaster and pushed the button to start warming up his toast.
As it was cooking, Lewis went to the cabinet, pulled out a box of cereal, and went to the next cabinet to pull out a bowl. He poured the cereal into the bowl before putting the cereal back in the cabinet and then went back to the fridge to get milk to pour into his bowl of cereal.
Lewis put the milk back into the fridge, and by that point, his toast was done. He took the toast out from the toaster, forgetting it was hot, which made him quickly put it on the plate. Giving it a second to cool, Lewis grabbed the butter and spread it on the slices of toast. When he was done he put the bread and butter back in the fridge before taking his food one by one to the table and ate.
As Lewis ate, his mother came in all dressed for work. “Lewis, sweetie I got to get going. They called me into work early.” She explained.
“Alright, get there safely.,” Lewis said.
His mother kissed him on the cheek. “Your lunch is in the fridge and I called Mr. Gale to pick you up.”
“Thanks, mom, Have a good day at work.”
“Thanks, my little starlight.” Lewis’s mom said as she walked out the door, went to her car and drove off.
Lewis finished eating his breakfast and put the plate and bowl in the sink. He sat back down and pulled out his phone and decided to play a game while he passed the time. Not long after starting his game, he got a text message from his friend Oliver.
Hey! Getting a ride with Mr. Gale! We’ll see you in a few minutes.
Lewis smiled and quickly texted back:
Okay, see you soon darling.
Lewis went back to his game until he heard a horn honking. He closed the game and put his phone into his backpack, he went to grab his lunchbox, which had that famous Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night painting on it and went out the door, locking it in the process.
Mr. Eric Gale, the engineering teacher at the school, stuck his head out and waved to Lewis. “Morning Lewis!”
“Morning Mr. Gale!” Lewis beamed.
“Lewis! Hi!” A younger boy waved, leaning over the older guy. The boy was 14 years old with brown hair with lime-green highlights and blue eyes. He wore a bright tie/dye shirt, green pants, and sneakers that had pansexual colors and lime green shoelaces. When he smiled he had braces that had green, blue and purple bands.
“Ridley! Wow, you’ve gotten taller darling.” Lewis said.
Eric chuckled. “Yep it’s my son’s first day of high school.” He said ruffling his son’s hair.
Lewis chuckled seeing his favorite teacher’s son will now be enrolling in high school with him and his friends.
“H-Hey Lewis.” A timid voice spoke up.
Lewis looked up and smiled seeing his friend Oliver seated in the backseat. The young boy was a bit taller than Lewis, and wore a green hoodie over a purple t-shirt, blue jeans, and black and white converse. His orange hair was tied into a ponytail and he had pale blue eyes.
“Oliver!” Lewis beamed. He opened the car door and sat next to his best friend in the backseat. “How was your summer, darling?”
“G-Great. We adjusted well to living with Eric.” Oliver explained.
“That’s great!” Lewis exclaimed.
He knew his best friend and his siblings were from a troubled home and Mr. Eric Gale decided to take them in untill things calmed down. However, in the middle of their break, Oliver’s parents just left, leaving Eric in the full care of Oliver and his siblings. No one knew why, but Oliver was fine with it.
As Eric drove the teens to school, the three boys talked about their summer vacation with Ridley explaining how he taught Oliver video games while the latter taught Ridley how to code.
“So what did you do, Lewis?” Ridley asked. “Did you hang out with your mysterious friend Wiatt?”
Lewis’s eyes widened as he rubbed the back of his head. He did talk about Wiatt to his friends, but never said he was a mermaid, rather a kid who visits town every so often as he lives further away from here. “Uh…we talked and hung out, yes, but that’s it.” He replied.
Oliver sighed. “You know from what you’ve told me and Sara about Wiatt, we never got to meet him.”
“I know.” Lewis sighed in reply. “We just haven’t found the right time to have you two meet him.”
The truth, however, was Lewis was nervous telling his friends about Wiatt being a mermaid. He’s read stories, that revealing you’re a mermaid can have consequences, like a tsunami could wipe out the whole town or he and Wiatt would have their memories erased, which horrified Lewis. The worst being is that another mermaid would find out and get him killed.
It sounded ridiculous, but Lewis wanted to take precautions about revealing Wiatt to his friends. He knew that out of all those three scenarios happening, one would be on his other best friend, Sara, who wasn’t a big fan of the ocean.
“Well,” Oliver spoke up, snapping Lewis out of his thoughts. “I hope we get to meet him one day, he sounds pretty cool.”
Lewis blushed a bit, “he is.”
“Ooooh, someone has a crush.” Ridley teased, turning to the two boys in the backseat.
Lewis’s face turned bright red as he stuttered over Ridley calling him out on his crush. “I-It’s not a crush darling! Wiatt and I are just friends!” He exclaimed.
“Sure…” Ridley replied.
Eric chuckled, and gently pulled his son to turn him around. “Alright, enough Riddles.” He said. Ridley chuckled but kept the smirk on his face.
Soon, the four arrived at their high school, and Ridley, Oliver, and Lewis got out of the car. “I’ll be back, gotta drive Carly, and Oliver’s siblings to school,” Eric said.
“Okay! See you later Dad!” Ridley beamed.
Eric smiled and drove off as the three boys were about to walk into the entrance of their high school, but just as they were about to enter, a pink blur tackled Lewis and Oliver.
“Hey, you two!” A female voice beamed.
The girl had brown hair tied into a bun with her bangs highlighted pink, and had old rose colored eyes. She wore a pink shirt, a light pink skirt, and white sandals.
“Sara!” Lewis and Oliver beamed.
Sara let go of her friends and smiled, “like my hair?” She asked. “I got my caretaker to do it for me.”
“It’s beautiful, darling.” Lewis answered.
“Y-Yeah. When you said you wanted to do something new with your hair I thought you were going to fully dye it or cut it short.” Oliver explained.
“Well…” Sara started. “That’s what I wanted to do, was going for a pink and purple hair, but Celio suggested I start off small, so I did pink highlights on my bangs, and Celio cut my hair a bit and tied it up into a bun.”
“Well, it looks amazing Sara!” Oliver exclaimed.
Sara smiled glad her friends liked her new look.
“I think the pink streak looks like you put strawberry syrup in your hair! And I mean it in a good way!” Ridley exclaimed.
Sara gave a small smile seeing her teacher’s son had joined her friends. “Hi, Ridley.” She said.
“It’s nice to see you too Sara!” Ridley exclaimed. “Man is high school going to be great! We’re going to have a lot of fun together!”
“It sure will be darling!” Lewis beamed. “Now let’s get inside, pick up our schedules and our lockers.”
“Sure!” Ridley beamed. “I’m so excited getting my first high school locker!” The freshman kept talking about how much fun high school was going to be with his three friends.
After getting their schedules and going to their lockers, the trio opened their lockers and put their stuff inside. “So how was the rest of your summer?” Sara asked as she put photos of her and her friends into her locker.
“Mine was good. My siblings and I adjusted well living with Eric.” Oliver said.
Sara smiled seeing her best friend was going to be okay. She then turned to Lewis who was putting a binder for his afternoon classes away. “Lewis, what did you do the rest of summer?” She asked.
Lewis sighed. “Spending time with Wiatt as always.” He said.
This caused the girl to frown and glare. “You know since you “met” him,” Sara said, giving quotes using her hands, “we haven’t seen him.”
“I know, darling.” Lewis replied, putting his backpack away. “But, Wiatt lives far away from here, so he can’t stay too long.”
“How far does he live from here?” Sara asked. “From my knowledge, the beach is all there is. The forest that doesn’t make it to the next town, and that’s like almost 3 hours away from here.”
Lewis chuckled nervously, he never knew Sara would ask that question. The young boy had to think of an answer, but he was saved by the bell, literally, “Oh that’s the bell, c-come on darlings we have to get to our first-period class.” He continued to chuckle nervously as he walked to their first class.
Sara glared and crossed her arms, “he’s hiding something.”
“Yeah, he has a crush on Wiatt,” Oliver added.
Sara’s eyes widened as she turned to her best friend, over his conclusion to why Lewis was hiding Wiatt from them.
Oliver looked at his friend confused as to why she looked at him like that. “I won’t say it in front of him, but he shows the signs.” He reassured his friend. Oliver then went to class with Sara sighing and following her friend behind.
When class started for the day, the teacher went through the basics of what they’d be learning for the first semester. During the rant, Sara rolled her eyes as it was the same lecture every teacher would share with the class on the first day. She then glanced over at Lewis and saw he was drawing ocean life on his notebook pages.
She knew her best friend loved to draw in his notebook, but it was usually his characters or stars, this was the first time ocean life was drawn in his notebook. Sara looked up at Oliver, who glanced over at his friend pointing at their other friend. Oliver looked and saw Lewis’s doodles, but mouthed, “so?” like drawing was new to Lewis.
“So?” Sara mouthed back.
Oliver shrugged and went back to face the teacher. Sara sighed and also faced the teacher as well.
Despite all this, the rest of the school day was normal for the trio. Sara was able to loosen up, and the three friends were able to talk about the rest of their summer.
By lunch, the trio sat at their usual spot in the lunchroom, until Ridley came by and sat with them. “Hi, guys!” He beamed.
“Hi, Ridley.” Oliver replied.
“How’s high school darling?” Lewis asked.
“Great!” Ridley exclaimed. “Haven’t made friends yet…” his voice trailed off. Lewis frowned, feeling bad for the boy. The freshman saw his friend frowning, “but, I got you three!”
“It’s only your first day darling. I’m sure you’ll make a new friend in no time.” Lewis reassured him, as he opened a container of apple slices.
Ridley smiled, “you're right!” He beamed putting his feet on the table causing everyone to turn to the group. “There’s someone out there who is willing to be friends with me, Ridley D. Gale! And that’s you three right here!”
“Hey, put your feet off the table!” A teacher yelled.
Ridley flinched and slowly did just that as he sat down. The kids laughed at the trio, which made Sara’s face turn red and glare at Ridley, who didn’t care he just embarrassed her and her friends and just ate his sugar cookies.
“Losers as always.”
Sara turned to see a group of four kids, smirking at her. The one who spoke was a boy with brown hair, with the tips of his hair blue, a few ear piercings, and a dark blue t-shirt with a skull in the front.
“Oh suck it, Hayden!” Sara snapped as she ate her sandwich.
After that eventful moment, the rest of the day was normal. Once school was ended, Lewis quickly packed up his things so he could go to the beach to see Wiatt. Before he could leave, Sara grabbed his shoulder stopping him in his tracks.
“Wanna come over to my place, and work on our project?” Sara asked.
“Sure, but let me go to the beach real quick,” Lewis answered.
Sara sighed. “Fine, but don’t be late.”
“I won’t.” Lewis then left school and ran to the beach.
At the beach, Wiatt came out of the water exhausted. He found the crystal he told Lewis about, but from how exhausted he was it looked like someone chased him for it.
“Wiatt!”
Wiatt looked up to see Lewis running over to him. The merman’s eyes widened as he smiled, “Lewis!” Wiatt beamed waving to his friend. He started to swim closer to shore and the two met.
“Hello darling, how was your treasure hunt?” Lewis asked.
Wiatt showed the crystal, which made Lewis gasp in excitement. “It’s beautiful.” He commented.
“Isn’t it?” Wiatt said looking at it. “I got away from him the second I grabbed it.”
“Got away from who, darling?”
“Uh…just some shark.” Wiatt lied. Not wanting to go into details, the merman changed the question. “A-Anyways how was school?”
“O-Oh,” Lewis replied. Wiatt always told stories of all his adventures and treasure hunts with every livid detail. This weirded Lewis out, but he figured Wiatt would tell him later. “Well school was fine, you know my favorite professor I talk about?”
Wiatt nodded, “Mr. Eric Gale, correct?”
“Correct! His son started his first day of high school, and as usual, Sara and Oliver are curious about you.” Lewis explained.
Wiatt sighed, “wish I could meet them.”
“One darling. I just need to know how since well…” Lewis paused to point at Wiatt being a mermaid.
Wiatt looked at his tail and back at his friend and nodded. “Understandable.” He replied.
Lewis nodded glad his friend understood. “Thank you.” He then took off his shoes and dipped his feet in the water, letting out a sigh with how cool the water was.
Wiatt smiled and fiddled with his fingers, wanting to ask his friend something. “H-Hey Lewis. Could I ask you something?”
“What is it darling?” Lewis asked.
“You like me, right?”
Lewis chuckled. “What kind of question is that darling?”
“Well…I…like you…like, like you.” Wiatt rephrased his question.
Lewis felt a slight blush wondering where this is going, “are you saying you have a crush on me?”
Wiatt blushed. “Y-yeah. I have for a while.” He said. “I wanted to ask you out on a date, this Friday.”
“Y-Your asking me on a date?”
Wiatt chuckled, “y-yeah.”
Lewis thought about it for a second, “could humans date merfolk?” He asked.
“I don’t know, but,” Wiatt paused as he got up closer to Lewis’s face and kissed him on the cheek. Lewis’s face turned red as he glanced at his merman friend, “I’m willing to try.”
“S-Sure.” Lewis stuttered. “S-So Friday?”
“Friday,” Wiatt replied before swimming off.
Once he was gone, Lewis sighed as he fell into the water. “He likes me. He likes me!” He beamed.

Nothing Bad Happens Chap. 10- Founder Tension: Memories
Here is part 2 of NBH: Founder Tension!
Now, I know I’ve been writing longer and longer chapters, however this chapter when I wrote it as Chap. 9 was almost 25 pages long, hence why this one had to have been split. I don’t mind it, it’s just when I feel a certain story could be split, then this is the chance for me to do so.
Big thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader!!
Enjoy!
Dreamworld closed and everyone went home for the night. Meanwhile at Sara’s apartment, Lewis and Oliver were packing up their stuff, deciding to leave in the morning and stay at their own places.
“Well, I’ll be staying with Eric,” Oliver said, not looking at Lewis.
“And I’ll be with Wiatt,” Lewis replied, doing the same thing. He finished packing grabbed his stuff and brought it to the living room. He sighed and laid down on the couch, tired from the day.
“So you're just gonna leave me here?” Sara asked.
“Yes, you can handle things on your own,”  Lewis replied.
“Fine. If you or Oliver don’t wanna come back to the facility then that’s fine with me too.” Sara said before slamming the door.
Lewis sighed. In all honesty, he wanted to talk it out with his friends, but this argument was the worst out of all of them. Even if he did apologize, Sara would still follow her pride and Oliver is still hurt for the stuff he said.
Grabbing his phone, Lewis looks through photos he took with his friends from high school all the way to their latest hang out a week ago, at a local karaoke bar the trio go to in secret. Tears came out from his eyes, as Lewis looked through every photo.
In his room, Oliver was staring at the ceiling before turning to the empty bed next to him where Lewis slept. Oliver sighed, he too wanted to apologize, but with how his “friends” are they probably would never forgive him. He turned away from the other bed and tried to sleep.
Sara on the other hand, felt her pride wind down as she lay down on her bed. Her mind was telling her to apologize to her friends. She desperately wanted to, but anxiety was on her mind thinking her friends hated her now.
“It’s all my fault this happened.” Sara cried. “I should’ve never snapped at them. Now I lost them.” She pulled the blankets close to her as she softly cried.
A loud knock woke Lewis up. The founder groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. From outside he saw it appeared to be about 6 am, which was very early to wake up. The knocking continued, and Lewis sighed, putting his glasses on and walking to the door.
“Alright. I’m coming!” Lewis groaned. He opened the door to see a panicked Eric. “Eric, what are you doing here?”
“Lewis! Oh, you're awake! Listen, did Carly come by here?” Eric asked.
“No, I just woke up,” Lewis replied. “Why is something wrong?”
By that point, Oliver and Sara had also woken up and went to the door as well. “Eric. What’s wrong?” Oliver asked.
“Carly! She went missing!”
“What?!” The founder trio exclaimed.
“She said she was going on her daily skating route with Ben and Liz, but only those two came back and not Carly,” Eric exclaimed.
The founders looked at each other with worry. Out of the three of them, Sara was worried the most.
“I-I’ll go find her!” Oliver exclaimed, running to get changed. However, Sara grabbed him from the back of his pajamas which slammed him to the ground.
“Oh no! I’ll find her!” Sara exclaimed.
“Hey! I opened the door first darling, so I should find her!” Lewis exclaimed.
The three argued about why they should find Carly over the other, which made Eric sigh. “I don’t care who finds her!” Eric yelled. The founder trio turned to their former teacher. “Look, I just want her to be found safe and sound. Please.”
The founder trio looked at each other and glared, “I guess I’ll put aside the argument for Carly’s sake.” Lewis spoke up.
“I agree,” Oliver replied, not glancing at his former friend.
“We do this and then we separate,” Sara said.
“Fair.” Lewis and Oliver replied. The three went to get ready and dressed in casual clothes rather than work clothes.
“Don’t worry Eric, we'll bring her home safely,” Lewis said before he and the trio left to find the young girl.
The trio was going to enter Sara’s car to find the young girl, but the female founder found a note and a red string tied to her car.
“What’s this?” Sara asked. She grabbed the note and read it out loud, “to the founders of Dreamworld. I have captured the girl associated with your company. If you want to find her, follow this red string around town. In the end, you’ll find her safe and sound. If you make it at sundown.” Once finishing the note, Sara looked up at Lewis and Oliver, who were in disbelief.
“Well, that sounds ridiculous,” Lewis said. “If anything, someone wants us to find her, together.”
Sara rolled her eyes and crumpled the note, “Yeah, like it will work!” She exclaimed. She opened her car door and went to start the car, only to see her car was out of gas.
Oliver knew that sound and sighed. “Let me guess, you forgot to put gas in?”
“Afraid so,” Sara answered. She then got out of the car and removed the string only to see it was a long trail. “Well let’s walk on foot then.”
Lewis and Oliver nodded and followed the string in hopes of finding Eric’s daughter.
Eric watched everything and gave a small smile. Once they were gone, Eric grabbed his phone and called someone named Ladybug. “This is Mantis to Ladybug, the targets took the bait!”
“Ladybug here,” Carly spoke on the other end. “Twin 1 and Twin 2 are with the Triple J’s using as much string and photos as they can.”
Eric chuckled, “That’s good. Also, why do we need code names?” He asked.
“It’s fun! And that Ribbondancer and Ben said for a plan like this we need code names.” Carly answered.
“Fair enough.”
With the Founder Trio, the three continued to follow the string. The walk was silent between the three of them, not glancing or saying a word to each other. There were times they wanted to say something but kept their mouth shut.
“What the?” Lewis asked as he saw the string stopped at a brown bench that faced the playground at a local park. “This is the bench Sara and I would usually sit on after school together.”
“Oh yeah. You’d take photos or make video diaries for your therapist here.” Sara added remembering the times she’d photo-bomb her friend or the two eating ice cream as they chatted about school.
She missed those days…
“Hey look at this,” Oliver spoke up. The three saw a photograph taped on top of a string. Lewis removed it and his eyes widened as it showed a photo of him and Sara when they were in middle school.
“Hey, I remember this photo,” Sara spoke up. “That was the day you came out to me.”
Lewis blinked as he remembered that day…
Flashback 10 years ago…
It was early in the evening, and Lewis was sitting on the bench crying. He texted Sara to come see him at the park at their usual hangout spot. However, Lewis felt his anxiety kick in and he was scared of what he wanted to tell Sara.
“This was a bad idea.” He said. “She’s gonna hate me, she’s gonna leave me…”
“Lewis!”
Lewis gasped as he saw Sara staring at him worriedly. “S-Sara!” He exclaimed. Quickly, he wiped the tears from his eyes.
“A-Are you okay?” Sara asked.
“Y-Yeah. I’m fine darling.” Lewis lied.
Sara knew her friend wasn’t fine and sat next to him. “Why are you crying?” She asked.
Lewis sniffled as he turned away from the girl, “I-it’s nothing.” He lied.
“Lewis, you're my best-er…friend.” Sara corrected herself. She wasn’t sure if Lewis was her best friend yet. He’s been her first, and only friend for three months. “You can tell me anything.”
Lewis turned to face his friend and let out a shaky breath. “Just don’t freak out when I tell you.” He said. “Just don’t leave me.” That is what he wanted to say.
“I-I won’t. Just tell me what’s going on?” Sara asked, now feeling scared herself. “D-Don’t tell me you don’t wanna be friends anymore.” She thought to herself.
Lewis swallowed as he opened his mouth, but quickly closed it. Tears started to come back in his eyes. “S-Sara. I-I…” He took a deep breath before letting it out, “I’m gay!” He blurted out before sobbing. The boy pulled his knees close to his chest and put his head down.
Sara blinked in confusion. She felt relieved that Lewis didn’t want to end their friendship, but she wasn’t disgusted by it. Her caretaker was non-binary and her music teacher was a lesbian.
“Lewis…” Sara spoke up, reaching out to her friend.
“Look! If you want to leave me, that's fine! I’ve had enough people leaving me already!” Lewis sobbed.
Sara stopped as her eyes widened. She would never leave Lewis over something like this. “Lewis. I’m not gonna leave you.”
Lewis opened his eyes as he looked up at his friend. He sniffled as he wiped the tears from his eyes. “Y-Your not?”
Sara shook her head. “Why would I?”
Lewis put his legs down and sighed, “Well, first off my dad.” He started. “The day I told him, he got mad at me and called me a disappointment.”
Sara was horrified hearing that Lewis’s own father called him that. It was the first she heard about Lewis’s dad as he or his mother never spoke about him.
“He and mom argued a lot and he wanted to get rid of me. Saying he didn’t want a son like me and would try again for a “perfect” child.” Lewis continued. “Luckily, my mom was appalled and we left him. However, that didn’t end there…anytime I told people they would hate me for being gay or just leave me because they didn’t want to be around me. Then I met you and we became close friends, and I didn’t want to keep it a secret any longer.”
Sara was surprised, she could relate to Lewis being outcasted. However, it wasn’t worse than what she did to her tormentors, but still, it surprised her that Lewis was also a victim of bullying like her. She put her arm over her friend, which surprised him, and rubbed his arm.
“Lewis, after what I went through back in elementary school. I would never bully someone over anything.” Sara started. “I would never hurt or leave you. You're my best friend Lewis Bright.”
Lewis’s eyes widened as he looked up at his best friend. He looked into her eyes and saw she was being honest with what she said. Lewis sniffled and wiped away the remaining tears from his eyes. With a smile, he pulled Sara into a hug. “Thank you, darling! You're my best friend too.” He replied.
Sara was surprised as Lewis hugged her, and smiled, feeling her eyes starting to tear up. She hugged Lewis tight, not wanting to let go. The two let go of the hug and smiled. Lewis felt better and the two friends got off the bench.
“Sara,” Lewis spoke up. He took out his phone and went to the camera app to take a selfie. “Say cheese!” He then snapped the photo before showing it to his best friend.
“Oh picture perfect,” Sara commented.
“It sure is, darling.” Lewis agreed. The two laughed a bit before Sara asked her best friend a question.
“Hey, wanna have dinner at my place?” Sara asked.
Lewis nodded, “Of course darling.” He replied. The two friends started to walk back to Sara’s house, as they did Sara had to bring up something to her best friend.
“You know it’s a good thing you're gay,” Sara said.
“Why is that?” Lewis asked.
“Because everyone at school teases me thinking you're my boyfriend! Which, by the way, I see you as my best friend, not boyfriend.” She exclaimed, giving her friend a playful shove.
Lewis laughed as he playfully shoved his friend back, causing his friend to laugh. The two continued to playfully shove one another until they got to Sara’s house.
Flashback ends
“That day, I told you everything, darling,” Lewis said, his eyes starting to glisten with tears.
Sara gave a small smile as she rubbed her arm. “Y-yeah.”
The two gave a small smile to each other, but quickly turned away glaring at each other, still mad about the other. “C-Come on, we must find Carly,” Lewis said, putting the photo in his pocket.
“R-Right,” Sara replied.
The three continued to follow the string from the park to the local ice cream shop. Oliver recognized the ice cream shop as the one he took his siblings to all the time. There the trio saw another photo on the window and Oliver grabbed it.
“Hey, remember when Ben and Liz celebrated their birthday and no one came?” Oliver asked.
“Oh yeah, and last minute you invited us, Eric and Carly,” Lewis replied.
“It was also the first time we met your siblings.” Sara pointed out.
Flashback: Freshman Year around Springtime
Ben and Liz sat at the ice cream shop, wearing their birthday hats as they waited for their guest to arrive. Ben felt disappointed the people they invited didn’t show up, he didn’t know why, while Liz was optimistic someone would come.
“I can’t believe it! Mommy and Daddy forgot again, and now everyone in our school forgot!” Ben cried.
“We didn’t,” Lewis said.
Ben and Liz looked up to see Lewis and Sara come in with gifts in hand. The two were confused as they had never seen these two before.
“Who are you?” Liz asked.
“Well, I figured if no one showed up. I ended up inviting my two friends from school to your birthday.” Oliver explained. “Liz, Ben, this is Lewis Bright and Sara Covetman, my two best friends.” Oliver put his arms around his friends.
Liz and Ben looked at each other and got up from their seats and went over to the two teenagers. “N-Nice to meet you,” Liz said, feeling shy around the two.
“Nice to meet you too darling,” Lewis replied. He then handed a bag to her. “This is for you and your brother.”
Liz’s eyes widened. She was very excited to open her gift.
“Uh uh. What do you say?” Oliver asked.
Liz chuckled in embarrassment, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Liz and Ben went to open their gifts and their eyes widened to see they got cat plushies with red button eyes. Liz decided to keep the black and white one with a black bowtie, while Ben kept the pink and lilac one with a red bow tie.
“So cool!” Ben beamed.
“Like it?” Lewis asked. “I won some plushies at this local arcade I frequented a few years back, and I figured you guys would like them.”
Liz and Ben smiled and ran to hug the boy who hugged them back. “Thank you, Lewis!” The twins beamed.
“Anytime darlings.”
“Wait till you see my gift!” Sara beamed holding two small boxes. The twins took the small box and opened it revealing to be beaded friendship bracelets.
Liz’s was blue, purple, and white with candy-shaped beads, and a blue lollipop polymer clay charm in the center.
Ben’s bracelet was pink, purple, and white also with candy-shaped beads and a pink lollipop clay charm in the center.
“Miss Sara, did you make this?” Liz asked, looking at the older girl.
Sara nodded. “My caretaker got me into crafting as a pastime from stress.” She explained.
Liz and Ben put on their bracelets and smiled at the older girl. They too ran to her and hugged her. “Thank you, Miss Sara!” Ben and Liz beamed.
Sara chuckled and hugged the twins back. “You two are sweet!” She replied.
Oliver and Lewis smiled seeing how good Sara was with the twins.
Soon the door to the ice cream shop opened and Eric and a 7-year-old Carly. The two each held a gift in hand.
“Mr. Gale?” Oliver exclaimed. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, I overheard your conversation yesterday during class, and I figured Carly and I would come by and celebrate.” Eric explained.
“I gave him the address to this place. You’re welcome.” Sara beamed.
Oliver smiled and let out a chuckle.
“I’m guessing these are your twin siblings, Benjamin and Elizabeth?” Eric asked.
“Just Ben.” Ben corrected.
“Just Liz.” Liz corrected.
“Sorry. Well, Carly and I got you both something.” Eric said, handing the gift boxes to Liz and Ben.
When Liz got her gift box from Carly, she saw the girl had a bracelet made of flowers. “That looks pretty.” She commented.
“Thank you,” Carly replied.
Liz chuckled and went to open her gift, and her eyes widened when she saw she got one of those flocked animal playsets. She’d been wanting one forever, but her parents always said no.
“How did you know I wanted this?” Liz asked.
“Well…a certain older brother hinted it to us,” Eric answered as he eyed his student.
Oliver blushed in embarrassment letting out a chuckle.
Ben went and opened his gift and saw it was a plush of a rabbit. He then pressed the button and saw the rabbit give a creepy face. He let out a chuckle, “Guess Oliver told you I wanted this too!” He beamed.
“I thought Oliver was joking, but no he says you love creepy stuff,” Eric explained.
Ben and Liz looked at their older brother and smiled. Bits of tears appeared in their eyes, “thank you Oliver.” Ben said, hugging his brother.
“This is the best birthday ever!” Liz exclaimed, hugging her brother as well.
Oliver smiled and hugged them back, “Anything for you two.”
Flashback ends:
“You truly are a good brother, darling,” Lewis said.
Oliver smiled, “T-thanks Lewis.”
Lewis and Oliver realized they were both smiling, but it was hard to glare at one another, instead, guilt rushed through their faces. Even Sara felt guilty for being so rough on her friends.
“Come on, we need to find Carly,” Sara said, continuing to find the young girl. Lewis and Oliver nodded and held on to the photos as they continued to follow the string.
While following the string, Lewis, Oliver, and Sara found more photos of their time growing up and hanging out together. It made them share a laugh, but not before frowning thinking they’ll never have this kind of friendship again.
After grabbing another photo of the trio celebrating Sara’s birthday, Olive froze seeing two of their co-workers; Lisa and Pen.
“Lisa?! Pen?!” Oliver exclaimed.
Lewis and Sara turned to see their two co-workers, as the latter froze and turned as they ran off. Lewis, Sara and Oliver looked at each other and realized a conspiracy was going on.
Meanwhile, Carly, Ben, Liz, and the Walker Triplets finished the last of the string and tied it up to a tree before running back to Wiatt. He and the rest of the group were back at the park and setting up a surprise for Lewis and the others.
“Okay, I finished the string and placed enough photos for them as a distraction,” Carly reported to the mechanic.
“Perfect!” Wiatt exclaimed. “We’re just about done, and if anything Pen and Lisa would distract Lewis and his friends if anything.”
“We’re done here, Wiatt!” Eric exclaimed.
“They're gonna love it!” Franny sang.
Wiatt gave a thumbs up as rustling was heard in the bushes. The group turned to see Pen and Lisa coming in and trying to catch their breath.
“We need to hide now!” Pen exclaimed.
“They are coming and I think they saw us,” Lisa explained.
“Quick hide!” Wiatt exclaimed to everyone as they hid in the bushes and trees.
Soon enough, Lisa and Pen were right as Lewis and his friends came by here. “Uh…could’ve sworn Pen and Lisa passed by here,” Oliver said.
“And why did the string lead us to some picnic?” Sara asked.
“I don’t know?” Lewis replied, shrugging.
The trio saw there was a picnic blanket on the ground and went to sit down, tired of all the walking. “Well, we made it to the end, but no Carly,” Sara said.
“Yeah, was Carly and whoever took her supposed to be here?” Oliver asked.
Lewis’s eyes widened as he glared knowing what this was. “Okay, I think I know what’s going on here.” He said. Sara and Oliver turned to their friend. “I’m guessing Wiatt and the others were trying to make us remember the day we were friends.”
“Best friends.” Sara corrected.
“Same thing!” Lewis snapped.
Before an argument could happen again Oliver spotted a photo on the tree. “H-Hey guys.” He spoke up.
“What?!” Sara and Lewis shouted. However, they eased up when they saw the photo. The three went over to it and their eyes widened recognizing the photo.
It was the three of them outside at night smiling and laughing.
Flashback: Freshman Year during Autumn
The trio were outside of Lewis’s house lying down on a picnic blanket stargazing. The trio were having a sleepover and had a night planned with games, and movies, and Lewis decided to add stargazing to the list as the two hadn’t done so.
“Wow, it’s beautiful,” Sara commented on seeing so many stars.
“Isn’t it?” Lewis replied. “One day I want to move from the town into the woods so I can see all the stars, not just from my yard, but all the stars painted in the sky.”
Sara chuckled, “Is that why you want to live in the woods?” She asked.
“Indeed,” Lewis replied as the two shared a laugh.
Oliver smiled and chuckled, he wasn’t sure what to say as he had just recently befriended Lewis and Sara, and he didn’t know them as much.
“Are you enjoying the stars, Oliver?” Sara asked.
“Huh?” Oliver asked. “I- oh yeah! I am!” He replied, chuckled.
Lewis and Sara smiled glad their new friend was enjoying his time. Soon something caught the corner of Lewis’s eye. He turned and saw shooting stars, he gave a wide smile.
“Darlings look!” Lewis exclaimed.
Sara and Oliver turned and were in awe of the shooting stars. The three watched in excitement until something clicked in Sara’s mind.
“Hey, we should make wishes!” Sara exclaimed, putting her hands together and closing her eyes as she made her wish.
Lewis nodded and put his hands together as he made his wish. Oliver looked at his two friends and did the same thing.
Sara was done making her wish and turned to her friends. “Lewis,” she spoke up. Lewis opened his eyes and turned to his friend. “Is the whole if I tell you my wish it won’t come true saying true?”
“I don’t know darling,” Lewis answered. “But it wouldn’t hurt sharing it.”
Sara smiled, “Well I wished Dreamworld would be a success!” She exclaimed.
“I wish the boy I’ve been talking to would date me,” Lewis revealed.
The two turned to Oliver, who opened his eyes and looked at his friends. He made his wish but felt embarrassed sharing it. “W-Well…” Oliver started, still feeling nervous about his wish.
“If you don’t want to tell us, that’s fine,” Sara reassured him.
“N-No I want to say it!” Oliver exclaimed. He took a deep breath and looked at his two friends. “I wish the three of us are best friends forever.”
Lewis and Sara’s eyes widened at their new friend’s wish. Oliver’s eyes widened as he blushed in embarrassment as he admitted his wish in front of his friends.
“I-I mean! I know we're friends, but I never had friends before except my twin siblings. Y-You guys are the first best friends I ever had and I…and I…” Oliver sobbed. He just admitted everything in front of his two friends, and the anxiety overwhelmed him.
Then, Oliver felt two pairs of arms hug him, stopping him from crying. He looked and saw Sara and Lewis hugging him tight.
“Darling, since you joined the group you’ve always been our best friend,” Lewis said.
Oliver’s eyes widened.
“The three of us have all been through the same thing. Being alone, and just felt like an outcast.” Sara added. “That’s why our goal for Dreamworld is to never have anyone go through what we went through.”
Oliver sniffled and wiped the tears from his eyes and smiled. “T-Thanks guys, you two mean so much to me, and I’m glad you're both my best friends!” He beamed hugging them tight.
Sara and Lewis chuckled and hugged their friend back. Oliver then smiled and holding his friends pulled them down on the blanket, and they all shared a laugh. While laughing, Lewis grabbed his phone and pressed the camera app before switching the lens to face him and his best friends.
“Okay darlings, say besties!” Lewis beamed.
“Besties!” Sara and Oliver beamed as Lewis took the photo.
End of Flashback
The founder trio had tears in their eyes as they looked at one another. “I-I remember that night.” Lewis whimpered.
“Me too. W-We had a lot of fun, and afterward we became close.” Oliver replied, whimpering too.
Sara couldn’t hold back her tears, as they started to fall from her eyes. “L-Lewis. O-Oliver.” She whimpered. “I-I-I…”
“I’m sorry!” Sara, Lewis, and Oliver apologized at the same time. The three looked up at each other in shock realizing they apologized at the same time.
Sara sighed, deciding to apologize first, “Look I’m sorry for being bossy. I’m sorry for getting upset over your guys having a personal life.” She admitted. “I’ve always had you three and I had no other friends, so seeing you guys dating and hanging out with others makes me feel lonely,” Sara wiped the tears from her eyes before continuing, “and I guess I just missed the times where it was just us.”
Lewis and Oliver looked at each other before giving a smile. “Darling, I know we have personal lives, but that’s not stopping our friendship,” Lewis explained.
Sara looked up at her friend, sniffling a bit.
“Yeah, I mean we’ll have hangouts together, just promise us you tell us ahead of time instead of surprising us.” Oliver reminded her.
Sara nodded, “I know. I promise.”
“Guess I should say sorry for what I said about both of you.” Lewis started. “Oliver, I’m sorry for what I said about you being shy and reserved about not getting someone. I know for sure there’s someone out there who loves you like how Wiatt loves me.”
Oliver smiled, “Gee, thanks Lewis.” He replied. “And sorry for blaming you for everything you did to Wiatt, Lewis.”
“I forgive you,” Lewis said. “And Sara, I’m sorry for calling you bossy and a bitch.”
Sara smiled. “It’s alright. I forgive you.” She replied. She then looked at Oliver, “same with you, Oliver..”
“Me too,” Oliver replied.
“Me three,” Lewis replied putting his arm around Oliver.
The three smiled and hugged each other tight. “Let’s not fight like that again.” Oliver reminded them.
“Agreed.” Lewis and Sara replied. The three stayed in that hug till Sara decided to pull her and her friends down into the picnic blanket causing the three to laugh, similar to what they did years ago.
“Awww!”
The Founder Trio turned to Franny and Pen who were in awe at the trio making up like it was a sitcom moment. However, Wiatt and Lisa pulled their two friends down so as to not spoil the moment. The founder trio looked at one another and continued to laugh.
“Alright darlings, you can come out now,” Lewis said.
Wiatt, Pen, Franny, Lisa, Carly, Eric, Ben, Liz, and the Walker Triplets came out of the bushes slowly giving a sheepish smile.
“Guess you figured it out, huh?” Carly asked, rubbing the back of her head. The Founder Trio nodded, which made Carly sigh. “Well, we didn’t like you guys fighting.”
“Yeah, you guys have been through tough situations and we’re able to resolve them, but this.” Eric paused for a bit, “it was like the lifelong friendship you guys had was gone.”
The Founder Trio looked at one another and frowned, feeling guilty.
“Not only that, you were acting up your old ways, Sara.” Wiatt pointed out. This made the female founder guilty.
“I know, and I’m sorry,” Sara said.
Wiatt gave a small smile, knowing Sara’s apology was genuine. “Apology accepted.” He said.
Sara looked up, shocked but gave a smile back.
“By the way, where did you find the photos?” Lewis asked, taking out the other photos from his pocket.
“We went to Sara’s caretaker’s house and they handed us a photo album,” Liz answered.
“We picked the photos that seemed the most fitting and placed them all over town,” Jake added.
The Founder Trio smiled looking at the photos they collected.
“You guys had an amazing life together,” John said, walking over to the trio and looking at the photos.
“Yeah, we did.” Oliver sighed.
“Think you can tell us stories about them?” James asked.
“Of course, darling,” Lewis replied. He and his friends sat down on the picnic blanket with the kids sitting around them, as they told the stories of each photo.
No matter what happens the three would always be best friends, and nothing could ever separate the three.

Nothing Bad Happens Chap. 9-Founder Tension
The next chapter is here and it’s one of the most angsty ones I've ever written! When I wrote this chapter, it was long, so I decided to split the chapters up into two parts. This here is part 1, and part 2 will be out alongside this one.
Also check out the comic of one of the scene of this chapter I got from @derpygirl-draws
Big thanks to my beta reader @gigilefache
Enjoy!
It was a steady day at Dreamworld, and Sara was rushing through her paperwork in hopes to clock out early. As she did she glanced at the calendar and smiled seeing today was the anniversary when she, Lewis, and Oliver became best friends for life.
Sara had a plan for the night. She and her friends would go to this local burger shop they frequent, then get ice cream, and end the night with a movie night back at their apartment. Sara was so excited she had to push herself to get stuff done.
A knock was heard. “Come in!” Sara exclaimed.
The door opened and it was Oliver, “h-hey Sara.” He said.
“Oh, hey Oliver!” Sara exclaimed. “What’s up?”
“Um…I was gonna let you know I’m leaving work early.” Oliver replied.
“O-Oh. Why?”
Oliver rubbed the back of his head trying to find an excuse, once he figured out a good excuse he responded. “I have some important business to attend.” He gave a sheepish smile to his best friend hoping she’d believe him. “It shouldn’t be long.”
Sara sighed, “alright,” She replied making Oliver smile. “You’ll be back early, right?”
“I-I’ll try,” Oliver replied. He wasn’t so sure when he’d be done, but he promised Sara he’d try. He closed the door of her office and quickly left Dreamworld. He saw a black car parked right next to Sara’s outside. He smiles and knocks on the car before opening it.
In the driver’s seat was a man who looked a year older than him wearing a trench coat over a pink Hawaiian shirt. He looked like a normal man except his right eye was purple.
“Hey, Damien,” Oliver greeted.
“Hey,” Damien replied.
Oliver looked down at his hands, avoiding eye contact with the detective. He looked up quickly before looking down. “W-what did you find out about the animatronics?”
Damien sighed. “Very little I’m afraid.” He replied. “I do see certain people’s souls, but it’s very blurry. I’d need to see if someone at the facility has a similar soul in order to match it.”
“Got it,” Oliver said with a sigh. He was lucky Damien got somewhere with how the animatronics were talking. He made the call when he realized how much Starlight acts like Lewis or how LoliPop acts like his siblings, and he got curious about it.
“However, I can discuss what I do know,”  Damien mentioned.
“Okay, what is it?” Oliver asked.
An hour after Oliver left, Sara finally finished with her work, giving a sigh of relief. She looked at the clock and saw she was done earlier than expected. With a smile, she grabbed her stuff and went over to Lewis’s office to see if he was done with his shift and if they could hang out. However, upon opening the door to his office, Sara saw no Lewis in sight.
“You’re looking for Lewis?” Eric asked, passing by.
Sara turned and nodded. “Y-yeah.”
“Well, he left a little earlier with Wiatt,” Eric answered. “The two of them along with Mike and Alyssa and Pen and Hayden went out to this mini gold place that opened.”
Sara was in shock. Normally, Lewis would’ve told her he’d be going out, but why didn’t he? “Did he say when he’ll be back?”
Eric shook his head before walking to his destination.
Sara was disappointed her plans were ruined. She loved making plans with her friends, but recently it’s like they had plans on their own leaving her all alone. Sara never told her friends about today and wanted to surprise them, but it looked like they forgot.
However, it wouldn’t hurt for her to call and just remind them. Sara took her phone out and called Lewis.
Speaking of Lewis was having fun at the mini golf course with his boyfriend and friends. He felt his phone vibrating and saw it was Sara calling.
“Hey darling,” Lewis said as Wiatt turned to him. “Sara‘s calling?”
“Lewis, just ignore it, besides, she got Oliver to help,” Wiatt said.
Lewis looked at the phone ringing and sighed, “I’ll call her later, besides, it can’t be that important.” He then put his phone back into his pocket as it rang.
“Pen! Hurry up and hit the fucking ball!” Hayden yelled.
Mike chuckled. “Come on Hay. He’s trying.”
Pen swung the golf club to hit the ball, but the ball went over the hill but slid back down.
Back at the facility, Sara frowned that Lewis didn’t call her back. After his voicemail went through Sara sent him a message, “h-hey Lewis. When you get a chance, call me back okay.” She hung up the phone and leaned on the wall for support.
“Don’t get mad over this Sara. Don’t get mad.” Sara said to herself. She then felt the familiar dark aura of Litho, creeping behind her, snapping her out of her thoughts. She stepped back but saw Litho wasn’t near.
Sara breathed heavily before quickly heading back to the apartment. She hoped Lewis and Oliver would be back soon, hoping they’d have time to spend together before the end of the day.
Lewis was brought home by Alyssa at around 12:30 am. After spending time at the mini golf place, they had dinner and hung out at Alyssa’s apartment for a bit before she decided to take everyone home.
Around that same time, Oliver came home too. “Thanks, Damien.” He said. Once Damien drove off Oliver was surprised that Lewis came home as well. “O-Oh hi, Lewis!”
“Hi darling,” Lewis said, “where did you go?”
“O-Oh I was…I was…” his voice trailed off. “Out with a friend. Where did you go?”
“Was on a date with Wiatt, but it was a triple date with Mike and Alyssa and Pen and Hayden,” Lewis explained.
Oliver chuckled, “That sounded like fun.”
“It was!” Lewis exclaimed. “It was last minute, but we’re planning to do more next week.”
Oliver wanted to ask if he and Damien would join them, but he and the detective weren’t official yet. However, it didn’t stop the other founder from trying. “Think I can join next time?” He asked.
“If you can get yourself a date, darling.” Lewis joked. Though Oliver didn’t take it as a joke. The two made it to their apartment and Lewis unlocked the door.
Oliver and Lewis walked inside the apartment quietly, not wanting to wake Sara up. Oliver closed the door slowly and continued to follow Lewis back to their room. However, the light turned on causing the two boys to let out a scream. However, it wasn’t a robber, just Sara sitting on the couch, and from the looks of it she was upset.
“Darling!” Lewis exclaimed. “Please don’t do that!”
“Where were you?” Sara asked, scolding the boys like a parent catching their kid coming home past curfew.
Lewis and Oliver looked at one another, confused. They told Sara earlier where they’ll be the rest of the day.
Sara sighed, getting up from the couch and walking towards her friends, “where were you?” She asked again.
“Didn’t we tell you where we’ll be tonight?” Lewis asked.
“Yeah, but I was hoping you’ll get done early so we can hang out for our friendship anniversary,” Sara replied.
This shocked Lewis and Oliver. They hoped Sara understood that they had important things tonight, and they couldn’t make it to whatever she had planned.
“Oh sorry Sara.” Oliver apologized.
“I mean we did tell you we were busy,” Lewis added.
“Yeah, but you could have left early or canceled, so we could hang out,” Sara replied.
Lewis and Oliver were upset over their best friend’s behavior. She wasn’t understanding about all this at all.
“Darling. I haven’t seen Wiatt since we left to work on Dreamworld.” Lewis spoke up. “We just got back together, and we have a lot to catch up on.”
“And I’ve been seeing someone,” Oliver revealed. “But, it is your fault for planning this ahead.”
“How is it my fault?” Sara asked.
“It’s always your fault! You plan things when we already have plans, and then complain about it!” Oliver yelled.
Sara glared, “Okay I’ll admit it, but this time was different, I wanted to surprise you guys!” She exclaimed.
“Darling you don’t have to surprise us, just tell us,” Lewis replied. “How are we supposed to know today was special for you?”
“Wow,” Sara said. “I-It’s like you don’t care for me anymore!”
“What?!” Lewis exclaimed. “That’s not true! We do care for you! But right now you're overreacting!”
“Overreacting?!” Sara yelled.
“Like right now,” Oliver commented.
“Oh shut up Oliver!” Sara snapped, causing Oliver to flinch.
“Hey!” Lewis yelled. “Don’t yell at him like that, Sara!”
“WHY?!”
“Because he’s sensitive. It’s like you don’t care for his feelings and push him around!”
“So? You and I both agreed that Oliver is too shy to get a date!”
Lewis and Oliver’s eyes widened. The latter looked at his best friend in disbelief, as he remembered what Lewis said to him earlier. “S-So it’s true,” Oliver said.
“O-Oliver. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.” Lewis said, reassuring his best friend.
“Yeah, you're lucky you have a loving boyfriend.” Oliver spat. “A lucky boyfriend you left.”
Lewis’s mouth dropped. “Pardon me, darling?” He asked. “I only left because we had to work on Dreamworld, we still kept in touch. Not like Sara and her boyfriend.”
Sara’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped. “Hey, Norman and I were never a thing! He had a crush on me and he…left.” She explained.
“Yeah, because you can be bossy sometimes,” Oliver mumbled under his breath.
Sara’s eyes widened as she turned to her friend. “What was that?” She asked.
Oliver’s eyes widened and realized Sara heard what he mumbled. “N-Nothing.” He denied.
Sara marched over to him, and grabbed his arm pulling him closer to her, “did you just call me bossy?” She asked.
“N-No!” Oliver denied. He looked over to Lewis in hopes his best friend would defend him.
“Well…you can be a bit bossy,” Lewis revealed.
Oliver frowned, growling as he removed Sara’s hand roughly from his clothes. “Wow, thanks for the help, Lewis.” He said sarcastically.
“What, you don’t want me to be honest? Okay, if we’re being honest, yes you can be bossy Sara, and Oliver you're too reserved and shy to make the first move!” Lewis admitted.
Sara and Oliver gasped at what Lewis said about them. “Oh, you want to play that, darling?” Sara asked. “Fine, well you can be so stuck up!”
Lewis gasped, “I’m not!” He protested.
At that point, the three argued and insulted each other back and forth. Realizing this the three let out a frustrated yell before splitting off and going to their own rooms, and slamming the door. However, Oliver pushed Lewis out of their room and slammed the door again.
“Fine!” Lewis yelled again as he marched onto the couch and lied down.
Wiatt let out a yawn as he walked to the facility, early in the morning. Today he was scheduled to come in, and after yesterday he wanted to sleep more. Walking closer to the facility, the mechanic saw Eric also waiting for the founders to unlock the door so he could enter. “Morning.” Wiatt yawned.
“Morning Wiatt,” Eric replied. “How was your date?”
“Fun!” Wiatt exclaimed. “It turned out to be a triple date with Mike and Alyssa and Hayden and Pen.”
Eric chuckled, “I’m glad.”
Soon the two turned to see Sara’s car pull up and the founders getting out. However, the three tried to race each other to the door. Lewis made it to the door first and tried to insert his key through they keyhole before being shoved by Oliver.
“Aha!” Oliver laughed, taking off Lewis’s key from the door, but before he could insert his key, Sara shoved him out of the way and put in her key.
“Hey, move it!” Lewis yelled, pushing Sara aside.
“Don’t push me!” Sara yelled back, pushing Lewis into Oliver.
Wiatt and Eric’s mouths dropped in shock as the trio constantly pushed and shoved each other from the door, insulting one another in the process.
“Woah! Woah! Guys!” Eric shouted, stopping the founders from their argument. “What’s going on?”
This proved to be a mistake as the founders talked over each other, yelling and arguing about why they were mad at each other. Eric frowned seeing that they weren’t going to stop, he whistled loudly making the trio and Wiatt flinch.
“Okay, enough!” Eric yelled.
Wiatt gulped, he always heard Eric was a chill teacher and rarely raised his voice. From what Lewis told him, Eric is scary when angry, and that he’s only been angry twice since being in his class.
“Now, one at a time, what’s going on?” Eric asked.
“Sara’s being a brat because she’s upset, we couldn’t celebrate our friendship anniversary together!” Lewis shouted.
“Plus, she makes it a big deal that we can’t spend time together anymore,” Oliver added. “It’s not her fault she can’t make any other friends.”
Everyone gasped hearing what the taller founder just said.
“Oliver!” Eric exclaimed.
“It’s true,” Oliver replied.
“Darling, that was harsh,” Lewis said, glaring at his friend.
Oliver rolled his eyes, “why do you defend her anyway?” He asked, pointing at Sara. “You know she doesn’t like it when you spend more time with Wiatt than with us.”
“You know you’d understand if you had the confidence to tell someone you love them!” Lewis snapped.
Oliver glared, before shoving Lewis away and opened the door to the facility before slamming it. Sara and Lewis glared, and each went inside the facility and slammed it.
Wiatt and Eric flinched and turned to each other before going in, still seeing the founder trio arguing with one another.
“Why are you following me?” Sara snapped.
“My office just so happens to be this way!” Lewis answered, snapping back.
The three growled before walking away, going to their separate offices, and slamming the door.
Wiatt sighed, “Well, today is going to be a long day.” He said.
“Hey, they’ll make up soon,” Eric said, reassuring the mechanic.
“How do you know?”
“I was their teacher. They’ve gotten into arguments and made up afterward.” He explained.
Wiatt looked up at the hallway where his boyfriend and his friend’s offices were. From the looks of this argument, it doesn’t look like it will be ending anytime soon.
“Don’t worry. I’m sure they’ll make up before today’s meeting.” Eric reassured the mechanic.
By the time the meeting started, the founders didn’t bat an eye or utter a word at each other. The three sat in their chairs turned away from one another. Everyone heard about the trio arguing, and the tension between the three was so thick, that a knife couldn’t even cut it.
“Is anyone going to start the meeting?” Lisa asked, breaking the silence.
Lewis glanced at Sara before turning away, while the latter did the same. Oliver on the other hand looked at Sara and smirked, “let Sara start the meeting.” He said in a mocking tone. Sara turned to the taller founder, “After all she knows a thing or two of bossing people around.”
Sara gasped, feeling offended. Most of the employees felt that was harsh, even Wiatt thought so as well despite not liking Sara. Though Hayden gave a small smile interested in the drama going on between his bosses.
Seeing that’s how Oliver wanted to play it, Sara glared at her friend and turned to him, “well,” she spoke up, causing Oliver to face the female founder. “Why don’t you start, Oliver?” She then let out a gasp, “Oh wait, you're too much of a baby to speak up!”
The employees started to feel uncomfortable with the founders arguing. “Yikes,” Pen whispered.
“This is getting bad,” Andrew whispered to Hayden.
“This is getting good,” Hayden whispered back
Now it was Lewis’s turn to speak up, “Honestly Sara, you can be such a bitch sometimes.”
The employee's mouth dropped hearing the founder's curse. Out of the trio, no one, not even Wiatt, expected Lewis Bright to curse.
“Excuse me!” Sara yelled, getting up in Lewis’s face.
“You heard me!” Lewis yelled back.
“Alright!” Eric shouted, slamming his hands on the table. Everyone flinched as they turned to the former teacher. “Enough you three! This has been going on for long enough! Now you can make up like the good friends you are or in your offices till you three can talk it out!”
The employees gulped, showing Eric was serious about this. To some, this was the first time seeing the engineer angry.
The founders glared at one another before leaving the meeting room. However, all three tried to exit only for them to shove and push each other to get to the door.
“Move out of the way!” Lewis shouted.
“No you move!” Oliver shouted.
“You move!” Sara yelled.
Eric rolled his eyes and went to the door and opened it. “There! Now you three go into your offices!” He scolded.
The founders glared and left the meeting room. Sara was the last one to leave and slammed the door making everyone flinch. Eric sighed and sat back down before slamming his head on the table and letting out a groan.
Ribbondancer looked down and rubbed the older man’s back.
“So…does that conclude the meeting?” Andrew asked.
“I believe so,” Mike said.
Everyone slowly got up and went to start their day of work. Luckily, today was a busy day, distracting the workers from what they witnessed earlier in the meeting. However, there were times when two or all three of the founders were in the same room, be it a cold glare or an insult.
Even the animatronics couldn’t do anything to stop them from arguing. Starlight tried to talk to Lewis about talking to Sara and Oliver.
“Darling, you should talk to-“
“No, Star. I’m not.” Lewis cut the animatronic off, not looking up from his computer.
Starlight frowned and decided to leave the founder alone for a bit. As he was making his way back to the Staract, he heard someone whisper out to him.
“Star! Starlight!” Ribbondancer whispered.
Starlight turned as Ribbondancer ushered him to follow him. The star animation nodded and followed his friend.
Wiatt had just returned from fixing some go-karts over at Racetrack, and there he saw Eric, Carly, Starlight, Ribbondancer, Pen, Lisa, and Franny huddled together. “Hey, what’s going on?” He asked, causing the group to look up.
“Oh Wiatt, we’re just discussing about-” Eric was about to say before being cut off.
“Lewis and the others?” Wiatt guessed.
“Y-Yeah. They still haven’t made up.” Eric explained. “I tried talking to them, but they wanted me to pick sides!”
“Starlight and I tried talking to them or doing fun activities to build their friendship, but none of them wanted to do it,” Ribbondancer explained.
Wiatt sighed, “Their pride is getting in the way of their friendship.”
“Pride, jealousy, and forgetfulness,” Ribbondancer added.
“Jealousy?” Eric and Wiatt asked at the same time.
“Forgetfulness?” Starlight and Carly asked at the same time as well.
Ribbondancer nodded, “Yep, Wiatt you're dating a founder, and Sara and Oliver are lonely and single.” He explained.
Wiatt and Eric looked at each other knowing that’s what could’ve sparked the argument.
“Wasn’t Sara dating Norman, the guy from Watchful Eye Toys?” Lisa asked.
“Yeah, but I heard something happened to Norman a month after the facility opened,” Franny replied.
“Also,” Pen stepped in. “I have heard Oliver has been talking to someone named Damien.”
“Oh, Damien, I know him!” Ribbondancer exclaimed. “He picked up Oliver yesterday and from what I’ve heard, Oliver talks to himself trying to ask him out.”
Eric sighed, “Ribbon, what did I say about eavesdropping on workers?” He asked.
Ribbondancer sighed, “It’s wrong and not nice, but it brings up fun conversations!”
“Ribbons!” Eric scolded.
“Sorry.”
“Ribbondancer, what do you mean forgetfulness?” Carly asked.
“Oh!” Ribbondancer exclaimed letting out a chuckle. “Well Sara said something about an anniversary and was hoping Lewis and Oliver could make it. However, Dreamworld has only been open for a couple of months. Why are they doing an anniversary now?”
Wiatt thought for a bit and his eyes widened knowing what the anniversary was. “It’s not Dreamworld’s anniversary, it’s the anniversary the founders became friends.” He exclaimed.
Eric then came to the realization too, “oh yeah. The day was the day they met Oliver and what kicked off their friendship.”
Starlight raised his eyebrow, “that’s why the fight started? Because Lewis and Oliver forgot?” He asked.
“Starlight, anniversaries are important!” Lisa exclaimed.
“Or in Sara’s case, very important,” Wiatt added.
Eric sighed, “I’m going to talk to Sara again.” He said.
“Or,” Carly spoke up, “follow a plan RD and I came up with.”
“What’s the plan?” Franny asked.
Carly and Ribbondancer huddled the group together as they explained the plan. Eric wasn’t sure about it, but if it would stop the trio from fighting he’ll go along with it.

Nothing Bad Happens Chap. 8-Pranks and Recreations
Here’s the next chapter! Hope you had a wonderful holidays if you celebrate it at all. Sadly I didn’t I was sick, but I’m doing a little bit better. This chapter was fun to work on as I give the other Dreamworld characters a chance in the spotlight. Mainly the Acrimony twins, Ben and Liz.
Big thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader.
Enjoy!
Wiatt walked into Dreamworld in the early hours of the morning, humming a tune. Upon making it to the employee lockers, he heard footsteps and snickering. Wiatt looked around wondering if it was the animatronics running around the facility this early.
Brushing it off, Wiatt went to his locker. He put in the combination and opened it only to be greeted by a bunch of water balloons splashing him.
Wiatt spit out some water just as he heard a familiar chuckle. The mechanic turned to see it was his co-worker Hayden.
“What’s so funny?” Wiatt asked, glaring at his co-worker.
“You got pranked by Oliver’s siblings.” Hayden replied, laughing as he went to his locker, “it’s normal for them to pull pranks.”
Wiatt rung the water out from his hat before putting it back on. “Yeah, I can see that.”
“Luckily, they've never pranked me,” Hayden said. He opened his locker and water balloons, filled with red paint this time, fell on him. He slowly turned to Wiatt, who smirked.
“Until today,” Wiatt added as he laughed.
Hayden growled at his co-worker until he heard giggling and turned to see a pink and blue blur running off in the corner.
Once away from the two workers, Ben pulled out a piece of paper with names, a marker, and used the marker to cross out Hayden and Wiatt’s names off of said list.
“Alright, who is next?” Liz asked.
Ben thought and snapped his fingers. “I know,” he said.
The Founder Trio were setting up for a meeting when they heard a loud scream, causing them to drop everything and run to where the scream was coming from. The trio found a trail of what seems to be blood leading towards one of the rooms.
“B-Ben. L-Liz?” Oliver asked, whimpering a bit as he reached for the doorknob and slowly turned it.
Once the door was fully opened he and his friends stared in horror seeing Ben and Liz laying “dead” and covered in “blood.”
Sara covered her mouth in horror, as Oliver pushed his friends out of the way to see his siblings dead. Lewis felt sick and stepped back only to feel his back hit something hard. He looked up to see a masked figure glaring down at him.
Lewis whimpered and moved away from the masked man. He tapped Sara on the shoulder. Once she saw the masked figure, she tapped Oliver on the shoulder. He didn’t look up until Sara grabbed his shoulder and turned him to the masked figure. If Oliver wasn’t terrified seeing his siblings “dead” it would be seeing the “person” that caused it.
“Finally, fresh blood!” The masked figure yelled as he raised the chainsaw high.
The Founder Trio screamed loudly. Ben and Liz decided to rise from the dead and laugh. “Aww man we got you good!” Ben laughed.
The masked figure laughed too, removing his mask to reveal it was Starlight. “You sure did, darling.” He said.
Ben went into his pocket and crossed off the names of the founders off the list.
“Thanks for the fake blood Starlight.” Liz said. “Think you could give us the recipe?”
Starlight nodded, “if your older brother is okay with it.” He turned to the Founder Trio and saw they’ve been turned white as a ghost. “Uh you three okay?”
Liz and Ben looked at one another before trying to tap Sara and Oliver, only for the three to faint.
“Maybe you two went a little too far, darlings.” Starlight said, looking at the twins.
“Maybe we did.” Liz replied.
“Next victim?” Ben asked.
“Next victim!” Liz exclaimed, as she and her twin brother ran out of the closet, as Starlight looked on, he had a weird feeling in his animatronic gut.
At Sea Venture, Alyssa and Audrey were inflating the water toys for the kids to play while Mike helped out organizing the pool noodles, and handling a box of other pool toys. As he put the box down, he saw one of the inflatable floating sea monsters swimming towards him.
Mike chuckled, “alright girls, really funny.” He said. Audrey and Alyssa looked up at the young man. “You inflated this to try and scare me.”
“I didn’t inflate that, did you?” Alyssa asked, looking at her co-worker.
Audrey shook her head, “no. I’ve been by your side since we arrived.”
The three stared at the floating device for a bit before the floaty squirted water at them. The trio screamed as the water was cold.
After being squirted with water, the three heard chuckling and saw Ben and Liz leave the scene to prank their next set of victims.
Mike and Audrey glared at the twins, but Alyssa spoke up, “come on guys, they’re just kids having fun.”
“But they prank everyone around here.” Audrey pointed out.
“At least it’s harmless pranks,” Alyssa reassured her co-worker.
Mike sighed, “I guess so Lyss. However, don’t you worry they’ll go too far or someone gets hurt with their pranks.”
Alyssa hugged her boyfriend and kissed him on the cheek. “They are Oliver’s siblings so hopefully he can talk with them.”
“Hey guys.”
The trio turned to see Pen, covered in paint and glitter. The trio’s mouth dropped as they looked at their co-worker from head to toe.
“What happened to you?!” Audrey asked.
“The twins pranked me with a fake cockroach, got scared and I ended up falling on the arts and crafts table.” Pen explained.
“You're not hurt are you?” Mike asked, going towards the Trampoland worker.
Pen shook his head. “I’m fine, just messy.”
Soon the intercom turned on and everyone looked up, “attention all Dreamworld Workers, please make your way to the staff meeting room for a very important meeting.” Sara’s voice rang out.
The workers all looked at each other and sighed as they made their way to the meeting room.
In the meeting room, the workers came by and, from the looks of it, they were all pranked in some way or another. They all glared at Oliver, who looked nervous and covered his face by putting his head down, wanting to hide away from everybody
Lewis took notice of his friend and patted his back.
“Okay, you probably know why I called everyone here,” Sara started.
“Because Oliver’s siblings are constantly pranking us.” Everyone said at the same time.
Oliver peaked up before burying his head even further. Sara frowned and sighed as she sat down. “Okay look, I know Oliver’s little brother and sister can be a pair of practical jokers, but it’s not like someone got hurt from them.” She explained, defending the kids.
“Sara, do you remember when Liz and Ben played that scary one car video in replacement of your slides from one of our meetings?” Lisa reminded her boss. “We had few workers who went into panic attacks!”
“B-But I did scold my siblings about that.” Oliver added, as he lifted his head up.
“And did they stop with the pranks?”
Oliver went silent and turned away, “n-no. B-But they promised no more scary videos.”
“How about the time they put itching powder on our hats and the roller skates at Rollerink?” Audrey reminded them.
“Or when they filled one of the pools at Seaventure with instant jello.” Pen added.
“Do I need to bring up when they put ghost pepper hot sauce in the salsa dip at the annual employee potluck.” Hayden added.
Sara’s eyes widened remembering each and every one of the twins pranks, realizing it was hard to defend the kids.
“Look guys,” Oliver spoke up. “My siblings can be chaotic with their pranks, but they’re sweet once you get to know them.”
“What we need to do is give them a taste of their own medicine.” Hayden said, ignoring what his boss had to say.
The workers looked at one another and smirked, agreeing with Hayden. Only Wiatt and the founders disagreed with the idea, as Ben and Liz were kids and knowing most of the employees, some would take the pranks too far.
“Do you really think getting revenge on them will make a difference?” Oliver asked.
Hayden was about to reply, but Audrey smacked him in the back of the head to keep his mouth shut. He glared at his friend, who shot him a glare back. Hayden crossed his arms and cursed under his breath.
“If anything, could I at least talk to them first and ask them to tone down the pranks?” Oliver suggested.
The Dreamworld workers looked at each other and nodded in agreement. “I guess that sounds fair.” Lisa replied.
“Agreed, darling.” Lewis added.
Oliver sighed and smiled, “great, I’ll go speak to them right-” Oliver paused as he tried to get up, but couldn’t. “What the?!” He struggled to get up, but saw he was glued to his seat. “Uh…I need some help.”
“Here, we’ll help you dar-” Lewis paused as he and Sara tried to get up from their seats and saw they too were glued to their seats as well.
“Come on!” Sara struggled, as some of her co-workers chuckled seeing Sara stuck.
As Lewis was struggling to get out of his seat, he looked up at his boyfriend, “darling, think you could help us?” He asked.
Wiatt nodded, but as he tried to help his boyfriend and his friends he saw he was glued to his seat as well. This horrified the two co-workers next to him, Rain and Athena. Wiatt looked at everyone, and announced, “is it just me or have we all been glued to our seats?”
The Dreamworld Employees looked at each other before trying to get up and saw Wiatt was correct, they were all glued to their seats. Everyone struggled to get up, cursing at the fact they were stuck. Some fell on the floor due to the struggle.
Outside of the meeting room, Ben was shocked and stared at his twin sister in disbelief, “I thought you were only going to glue Sara and Lewis’s seats?” Ben asked, whispering.
“I was.” Liz whispered back, “but I don’t know where everyone sits, so,” she then revealed the super glue, which was partially empty, “I glued all the chairs.” She then gave a sheepish smile.
Ben looked at the employees still struggling to get up before giving a smirk to his sister, “your the best twin sister ever.” He said.
“I know!” Liz beamed.
The twins decided to go to MadHouse and hide from the workers for a bit and play. As they left, Eric, Starlight and Ribbondancer came into the meeting room and dropped their jaws seeing everyone struggling to get out of their seats.
“Eric, help us!” Lewis yelled.
“Let me guess, Liz and Ben?” Ribbondancer asked.
“YES!” Everyone yelled.
Ribbondancer chuckled, “looks like they put you guys in a…sticky situation.”
The Dreamworld Employees groaned, not in the mood for one of Ribbondacner’s puns. Not even Eric and Starlight were amused.
“Ribbondancer, please read the room,” Starlight told him.
Ribbondancer blinked, “I don’t know how to read.”
“Star! Think you can help us?” Wiatt yelled.
“I’ll see what I can do, darling!” Starlight yelled before leaving to find something in the theater.
“I’ll help too,” Eric said, as he and Ribbondancer followed behind.
Hayden used his chair to hop over to Oliver, “so what the fuck are you going to do now Oliver,” he asked.
Oliver whimpered as he felt the tension in the room. Everyone was glaring at him wondering if he’s going to give his siblings a slap on the wrist or give them a taste of his own medicine. The taller founder felt the pressure, and sighed deciding what was best. “If you guys want to prank them back, please don’t do anything that would hurt them.” He said.
“Deal!” Everyone yelled.
After two hours of being stuck in their chairs, the workers were finally free thanks to Starlight and the other animatronics. Afterwards, the workers split into groups to devise their plan to get back at the Acrimony twins.
Audrey, Pen, and Lisa were enjoying some potato chips as they watched kids play. Ben and Liz came by, feeling safe to come out and see the workers just relaxing and eating chips.
“H-Hey,” Liz said, “What’s going on?”
“Not much, just snacking on chips.” Lisa replied.
“Oooh, could we have some?”
Lisa nodded and handed a closed can to the twins, who upon handing the can looked at each other knowing they weren’t that dumb. Liz “tried” to open the can, but saw it was hard to open. “Think you can open it, bro?” She asked.
Ben nodded as Liz handed him the can of potato chips and he “tried” to open it. “Nope, I can’t either.” He said.
The twins looked around and smiled seeing their victim, a young man at the facility named Andrew. “Hey guys!” He beamed.
“Oh Andrew!” Liz yelled.
“Yeah!” He replied.
“Could you help us open this?” Ben asked.
“Sure.” The young man took the can ready to open it, ignoring the warnings from his fellow co-workers.
“W-Wait Andrew! Don’t open-” Audrey warned.
Andrew opened the can and out came a bunch of fake snakes.
“That…” Audrey finished seeing she was too late.
The prank gave him a scare, but he ended up laughing, “good one you two!” He beamed before walking off, continuing to laugh.
At first, Audrey was in disbelief, but was relieved Andrew responded well to the joke.
“Really?” Ben spoke up. He and his sister smirked with their arms crossed.
Audrey and the other two co-workers turned to the twins.
“Fake snakes in a can?” Ben asked. “That prank is so elementary school!”
Liz chuckled, “agreed!” She added. The two gave each other a fist bump before walking off.
Audrey sighed as she looked over at her co-workers. “You two got better plans?”
Lisa and Pen shook their heads in reply. Audrey grabbed her phone and texted Hayden, letting him know their plan failed.
Hayden felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket, and went to check on it. He read the message and sighed looking at Wiatt and Oliver.
“Well, Audrey failed.” Hayden said. “So that leaves us and Lewis’s team.”
Wiatt sighed, looking at the can of silly string, “Oliver, you sure this prank is going to work.” He said.
Oliver nodded, “this is the one prank I use on my siblings from time to time.” He said as he shook the can.
“If you say so,” Wiatt replied.
The three guys held the cans of silly strings as they searched for the twins. As they were searching, they heard giggling and footsteps which made Oliver nervous.
“Oliver, relax,” Hayden said, “your siblings are trying to prank us.”
“R-Right.” Oliver replied, giving a nervous chuckle.
Hayden rolled his eyes as he and Wiatt kept walking. Oliver sighed and took a deep breath. It wasn’t long till a prop snake dropped down in front of Oliver causing him to scream and spray the silly string at Hayden and Wiatt.
“Oliver what the fuck?” Hayden yelled.
Oliver looked up and saw Hayden and Wiatt covered in yellow silly string. “Oops, s-sorry.” Oliver apologized.
Hayden was growling seeing his boss had sprayed him and his co-worker with silly string. As payback he then pointed the can of silly string at his boss and sprayed pink silly string at him. Wiatt tried to stop him, but Hayden sprayed it at the mechanic as well.
Wiatt saw he was covered in so much silly string and growled spraying Hayden with green silly string. Oliver ended up spraying Hayden and Wiatt again to defend himself.
Ben and Liz came out from their hiding place with their prank.
“Was that supposed to happen?” Liz asked, turning to her brother.
Ben shrugged, “I don’t know,” He replied, “but it’s nice to see them having fun!”
Liz nodded and the two left their hiding space to go see who else is trying to prank them.
Lewis was passing by to see how Oliver was doing with his revenge prank, but saw his best friend, his boyfriend, and co-worker spraying each other with silly string. He was flabbergasted, but just rolled his eyes and sighed before leaving the boys to have fun.
Lewis went over to the Madhouse and saw Sara setting up their prank for the twins. The female founder heard footsteps and turned to see her best friend. “Well darling, it’s just us.”
“What?” She asked surprised, “What happened with Audrey and Oliver’s group?”
“Ben and Liz obviously.” Lewis replied. “However, Oliver’s group is more along the lines of just messing around at this point.”
Sara sighed, “well hopefully our plan works.” She said.
“What plan did you come up with?” Lewis asked.
“Figured we do something simple, so…” Sara then revealed two cream pies, which made Lewis groan, covering his face with his hands.
“Sara, really?” Lewis grumbled.
“That's all I can come up with!” Sara groaned. “Plus Oliver said we can’t hurt them, and this idea is sweet.” She gave a sheepish smile for the pun she just made, but Lewis wasn’t amused. Sara’s smile dropped as she sighed, “no puns?”
“Nope.” Lewis replied.
Sara sighed, “alright let’s just set up the prank.” She said, handing one of the pies to her best friend.
Lewis nodded and grabbed one of the pies from Sara, and the two made their way to MadHouse. Once there they left the pies on the table where the candy was placed. There they hid in the entrance of the MadHouse maze and waited for the twins.
“When they come and see the pies we slam it on them.” Sara whispered.
Lewis’s eyes widened, “what?!” He asked.
Soon the two heard footsteps and Sara shushed her friend as someone was coming over. However, it wasn’t the twins, but Jake and James.
“Oooh pie.” James beamed, rubbing his hands together. Before he could grab the pie, Jake stopped him.
“Hold on James.” Jake said. “Let’s make sure this isn’t Ben and Liz pranking us.” Using his finger he scraped some cream off the pie and tasted it. Jake’s eyes widened as he took the pie and kept tasting the cream. “It’s good!”
“Really?” James asked. He took the other pie and tasted it, smiling with how sweet it tasted. “You're right!” He then started to break pieces of the pie and eat it.
Sara groaned, covering her face with her hands as Lewis patted her back. Her plan failed due to two of the Walker Triplets taking the bait.
“Hey let’s take this to John! He’ll love it!” James exclaimed.
“Yeah!” Jake exclaimed. The two brothers ran off to go find their older brother.
Sara and Lewis came out of their hiding space, however the two didn’t realize that Ben and Liz were getting ready for their next prank.  Liz felt uneasy about this one though, as she didn’t want Lewis or Sara harmed.
“You sure you want to do this?” Liz asked her brother. “I mean we should’ve done this prank to Hayden or someone else, but Lewis and Sara? Really?”
“Liz, it’s a bag of flour. Not a bag of rocks.” Ben replied. Liz still wasn’t sure about the prank, but Ben thought of something to get Liz into the prank. “Remember, Sara denied you the VR Headset and she let me use it.”
Liz's eyes widened and gave a smirk, “alright, just this one time.”
Ben smiled and used a giant slingshot they got from Ribbondancer, which he got from an unknown source. Liz put the bag of flour inside the slingshot as her brother launched it at the two founders.
A loud poof was heard as a cloud of white smoke appeared as well as Sara and Lewis coughing.
“Ben! Liz!” The founders yelled at the same time.
Realizing the two did go far, Ben decided now would be a good time to make a break for it. “Quick, let's go!” He yelled as he took his sister’s hand as they ran off.
Back in the meeting room, Audrey, Pen, and Lisa waited on Oliver and Sara’s teams to come back.
Oliver, Wiatt, and Hayden showed up all covered in silly string. Hayden glared as he tried to remove some of it from his body.
Audrey’s mouth dropped as she saw the mess her boss, and co-workers were in. “What happened to you three?” She asked.
“Blame our boss.” Hayden replied. “He got so scared he sprayed Wiatt and I with silly string!”
“I said I was sorry!” Oliver yelled. “Besides you two sprayed each other with silly string too.”
“Only because Hayden started it.” Wiatt replied as he used a cloth to clean his glasses to remove the silly string from them.
“Oh fuck you, Nicholson!” The janitor was held back by Audrey, before he could do something he’d regret towards the mechanic.
Wiatt glared and wouldn’t mind going into a fight with his co-worker. However, he dropped that thought when he saw Lewis and Sara walk in. The two almost looked like ghosts with how much flour coated their bodies. Their eyes widened seeing Wiatt, Oliver and Hayden covered in silly string.
“What the fuck happened to you two?” Wiatt yelled.
“Ben and Liz.” The two founders said at the same time.
Wiatt went to his boyfriend and tried to brush off as much flour off him as he could, coughing in the process as puffs of flour were in the air. Audrey helped with cleaning Sara off using a towel.
“I don’t get it!” Sara exclaimed. “How do you stop them?”
Oliver sighed as he tried to remove the silly string off him. “Well as Ben got older his pranks got better, now he brought Liz to the dark side.” He explained.
“So what can we do to stop them?” Pen asked.
“You mean what can Oliver do to stop them?” Hayden corrected. “It’s his siblings, he should be the one to stop them.”
The group turned to Oliver who felt nervous seeing his friends and coworkers staring at him. He sighed, but before he could utter a word the three teams heard the twins scream not too far from the meeting room.
“Ben! Liz!” Oliver exclaimed, quickly getting up and running to where the screams came from.
Lewis groaned, “don’t tell me.” He started, turning to Sara. “Another scary prank.”
The three groups followed Oliver and they stopped seeing the twins before bumping into each other and falling on the taller founder like dominos. The group groaned till Oliver looked up and saw the twins hanging upside down by their feet by a rope.
Oliver got out of the pile and went over to his siblings and tried to untie the rope. “Who did this to you?” He asked.
“I-I don’t know?” Liz replied. “We were going to prank someone else, and suddenly Ben tripped over a rope and we both got caught.”
As his little sister explained, Oliver was able to untie the rope, and carefully put his siblings down. “Alright, which one of you did this?” Oliver asked, glaring at his co-workers.
The workers didn’t say a word and turned to Hayden. The moody worker looked offended and stuttered. “Like I would do something like this!” He yelled.
“I mean, you’d be the one who would do a prank like this.” Pen said.
“This would be something Hayden would do.” Sara commented.
“If he did it.” Wiatt spoke up, causing everyone to turn to the mechanic. “Hayden was with me and Oliver since we split into teams, if it were him he’d split off from us.”
Hayden sighed and gave a small smile seeing one person believed him. Even if that person was Wiatt.
Oliver realized Wiatt was right, but it still begs the question who caused the prank on his siblings. “But then who?”
The workers all looked at one another wondering who it was. When they got into teams, none of the workers wanted to jump in the revenge prank, or some chickened out.
“It doesn’t matter who did it.” Ben spoke up. “You guys won. We won’t prank anyone anymore.”
The group blinked in surprise, “really?” The workers asked.
“Wait really?” Oliver asked.
“Yeah.” Liz replied. “We won’t do pranks anymore.” The twins decided to walk off and go to Trampoland to play.
The workers sighed in relief, glad for the pranks to stop at Dreamworld.
“At least for now.” Ben said with a smirk before he and his sister kept walking. The workers looked in fear realizing they were safe for now until the next prank. Whenever that would be.
Once the twins were away from the Dreamworld Employees, they made sure they were alone as a pair of colorful eyes appeared out of the shadows. “Did they fall for it?” Ribbondancer asked, appearing out of the shadows.
“Yep!” Liz replied.
Ribbondancer sighed, before letting out a chuckle. “It’s nice of you two to make your big brother and everyone at Dreamworld feel better!” He exclaimed.
Ben and Liz chuckled, “yeah.” Ben replied. “I love pranks, but we love Oliver more.”
Ribbondancer smiled and scooped the twins up and hugged them tightly. The twins chuckled and hugged the lemur animatronic back. Soon the latter eyes widened and remembered something he promised with the twins.
“Oh do you guys have my payment?” Ribbondancer asked.
The twins dug into their pockets and handed the lemur some candy as payment for his hard work. “Here you go buddy.” Ben said.
“Thank you!” Ribbondancer beamed before jumping off to enjoy his candy.
The twins chuckled and decided to spend the rest of the day at Arcadescape and play arcade games until lunch, in which they planned their future pranks that they plan to drop at Dreamworld.

Nothing Bad Happens Chap. 7- The Walker Triplets
Next chapter is here and we got a few things!
First off, angst! Yeah even though nothing truly bad happens, there is angst in the story! I’m also touching on a serious topic I never touched on before, but hopefully, I did it right.
Second, like how the main WTDW canon has fans and people who work on the show be workers. I’ve decided to do the same thing for NBH, introducing me and my friends sonas as DWE workers! To start it off I’m introducing my WTDW-sona as well as my beta reader to the mix.
Third and finally, even though I planned and wrote this fanfic I realized how dark and serious my topic choice for this chapter could be.
So, TRIGGER WARNING as it does deal with dark topics like abuse and neglect.
Big thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader!
Enjoy!
It was another fun day at Dreamworld and now it was closing time. Many of the families were leaving with their kids who waved goodbye to the animatronics, who also waved back. Most of the workers were grabbing their stuff and ready to head home for the night before their shift tomorrow or to enjoy their weekend.
However, there was still someone inside the facility, or rather a trio of brothers named John, James, and Jake. The three sat by some benches at RollerRink as they waited for their parents.
James, who sat in the middle, looked between his two brothers; John sat patiently while Jake sat, nervously swinging his legs. “So…mom might have forgotten, again,” Jake said.
“Or maybe she’s upstairs waiting for us,” John replied.
“Hey if she forgot we can explore the facility at night,” James suggested. “We can play in the arcade, go through lost and found stuff, heck we can speak with the animatronics!”
The second James thought of speaking with animatronics, Jake looked over as he saw Cheer roll away, to get some rest for the night. He sighed, seeing he never had a chance to talk to the animatronic at all today. Even though he was scared of them, he wanted to speak to one of them to build confidence.
“Still scared of them, huh?” John asked, leaning in towards his brother.
“W-Well a little. I mean before they could talk I was terrified, now they're all talking and they're not as scary,” Jake explained, “but I’m just scared what to talk about with them?”
James thought and snapped his fingers once he got an idea, “Why don’t you ask them how they can talk?” He asked.
“James, you can’t just ask how they can talk? It’s part of their programming.” John explained.
James glared at his brother, “well you can’t ask what their favorite food is either?” He replied.
“True.”
Jake was tired sitting around and getting up, “look, we’ve been waiting for a long time for Mom, we should go and look for her.” He voiced. “She should be here now!”
“Jake’s right,” James said, getting up. “Mom should be here by now!”
John sighed and got up. “Oh alright, but we’re not leaving the building till we see her or her car,” he stated. His brothers nodded and went over to the elevators to get to the lobby.
James pressed the button and once heard the bell they were about to step inside until they saw Lewis and Eric inside. The two adults and the triplets’ eyes widened, staring at each other.
“Sorry! We’ll take the next one.” James chuckled as he pulled his brothers away and ran where the stairs were located.
John and Jake looked shocked and ran after their brother, “W-Why are we running?!” Jake yelled.
“That was one of the founders, Jake!” James yelled. “W-We can’t let him see us!”
“Why?” John asked. “I mean, I heard Lewis is the kindest founder, he could help us get to Mom!”
The triplets skidded to a halt seeing the doors to the stairs were closed due to being repaired. “How does the stairs need to be repaired?!” James yelled. “It’s stairs!”
The triplets froze, hearing footsteps behind them, and saw Lewis and Eric behind them. The three huddled with each other, scared and frightened of what the founder and his friend were gonna do.
Seeing they were scared, Eric stopped Lewis from getting any closer. “Are you three okay?” He asked.
Jake looked up and saw the two were concerned and weren’t walking any closer to him or his brothers.
“We’re not going to hurt you, darlings,” Lewis spoke.
Jake and his brothers loosened up and straightened up as they were face-to-face with the founder of their favorite place in the world.
Lewis chuckled, “You don’t have to be proper with me, darlings. Loosen up.”
The triplets let out a sigh and did as Lewis told them. “Sorry, you're just the founder and we want to be polite,” John explained.
The founder felt honored and felt Eric nudge him with his elbow. “Looks like you got yourself someone that looks up to you.” He said.
“Is that how you felt around me and my friends?” Lewis asked.
Eric chuckled, “pretty much.” He said.
“You know Lewis Bright?” James asked.
“Know him?” Eric replied, “I taught him everything he needed to know. I was his former teacher.”
“No way!” The triplets yelled.
“Way!” Eric exclaimed in reply. “I’m Eric Gale, and you are?”
“I’m John Walker, and these are my brothers; James and Jake,” John said introducing himself and his brothers. James gave a wide smile and waved, while Jake gave a nervous smile waving as well.
Lewis chuckled and waved at the brothers. “What are you three doing here?” He asked.
The brothers looked at each other not knowing what to tell the founder. “W-Well,” John stuttered. “We were waiting on our mom, but she hasn’t shown up yet.”
“Oh, do you want us to wait out with you?” Eric asked.
The triplets looked at one another before looking at the adults. “Uh…sure…” James replied.
The two adults led the brothers to the elevator, and once it came for them, Lewis pressed the button to head up to the lobby. Once up at the lobby, there was no one there.
“Hmm…think your mom is outside?” Eric asked.
The triplets ran to the door and saw the parking lot was empty except for the cars belonging to the founders, Eric, and one other individual.
There the triplets saw a figure walking and they smiled thinking it was their mom. “Mom!” They exclaimed, opening the door and running outside. Eric and Lewis tried to stop them, but it was too late as triplets tackled the figure outside.
Turns out the figure the triplets tackled was Wiatt, who was walking to meet up with his ride. Jake looked down and his eyes widened seeing it wasn’t their mom. “Hey, you're not our mom!” He exclaimed.
“I’m not!” Wiatt yelled as he carefully removed the triplets from them.
“Sorry, sir.” James apologized.
Wiatt sighed, “It’s fine.” He replied.
“Wiatt!” Lewis and Eric shouted as they ran outside. The founder helped his boyfriend up and brushed him off. “You alright darling?” Lewis asked.
Wiatt nodded, “I’m fine Lewis.” He reassured his boyfriend. “I think it’s in the job description to be attacked by little kids.”
Lewis chuckled, “Sorry, but these three are waiting for their mother.” He explained.
“Do you want me to help?” Wiatt asked.
“More the merrier, darling.”
Wiatt gave a light chuckle and looked around the parking lot to see if he could spot a car. “So what color is your mom’s car?”
“Uh…” The triplets trailed off. Rarely, their mom ever used her car and in those situations they would usually take the bus. The triplets tried to remember what color car their mom drove, but nothing came to mind.
The adults frowned knowing the brothers were keeping something from them. “D-Do you three even have a family?” Lewis asked.
“W-We do!” Jake exclaimed.
“It’s just our mom forgets sometimes,” John added.
Eric’s eyes widened at the triplets in horror. “H-How long has she forgotten?” He asked.
James hummed as he used his fingers to count the many times their mom had forgotten, but lost count after he got to ten. “A bunch of times, but we’re used to it.” He said.
Wiatt, Lewis, and Eric’s mouths dropped hearing this from an eight-year-old.
“Plus we were just going to sleep in the facility if she doesn’t show and then take the bus home,” James explained.
John chuckled, “N-no. We were going to check if mom arrived and call her like reasonable kids.” He said, trying to cover his brother.
Eric sighed, “well looks like we’re going to do just that.” He said. “Come on, let’s head back inside.”
The triplets followed the adults back inside the facility and went into the conference room. Lewis called over Oliver and Sara who were both still in their office finishing up for the night. He told his friends the situation at hand, and both went to the conference room where their former teacher, the triplets, and Lewis’s boyfriend were.
Out of the triplets, John was the one who learned his home number and mom’s cell phone number. Lewis tried to call the house number, but the line was disconnected.
Eric tried calling the triplets' mom’s phone number, but she never answered. He tried to call again and this time he left a voicemail.
“Hi, I’m Eric Gale. I work at Dreamworld Entertainment. I have your kids here at the facility. They need to be picked up as soon as possible as we’re closed now. Call me back, bye.”
John looked up at the older man who looked disappointed that he couldn’t reach his mom. He turned to his siblings and saw James was trying to stay awake while Jake was already asleep.
“Well.” James started, before letting out a yawn, “Jake’s asleep, guess we’ll stay here for the night.” He suggested.
“No.” The adults said at the same time. James crossed his arms and pouted.
Oliver sensed the boy’s disappointment and put a hand on his shoulder. “It’s for the best that you three don’t stay here all night.”
“Why? You guys stay here all night?”
“One,” Sara spoke up, “we’re the founders and we have a lot to work on.” She explained, “And two, where are you three going to sleep?”
“Trampoland,” James answered.
The adults blinked and looked at each other in shock and horror. “You sure about that darling?” Lewis asked. “I mean you’ll be with Ribbondancer all night, and he’s a major night owl.”
“I mean, there’s that but the trampolines there are bouncy we can jump and tire ourselves out by sleeping on them!” James explained.
“You know some of those bouncy areas do have holes and you can fall into them,” Eric explained.
James shrugged, “Quality over quantity I guess.” He said before letting out a yawn.
Eric gave a small smile and rubbed the young boy’s back. “If you need to sleep, sleep. I’ll wake you and your brother when we figure out something.” He said in a calm voice.
The young boy nodded and closed his eyes as he laid his head down on the table and fell asleep.
John gave a small smile seeing his brothers get some sleep. He too was tired but wanted to stay awake so he could hear the adults' plans.
“You should sleep too darling,” Lewis said.
“It’s fine, I usually sleep a little later than my brothers,” John reassured the founder.
“Okay,” Wiatt spoke up, “we have three triplets whose mom isn’t coming to pick them up tonight. They need a place to stay for the night.”
The Founder Trio turned to their former teacher, who looked shocked. “M-Me?” He asked. The trio and Wiatt nodded. “W-Why?”
“Well, the owner of the apartment complex hates us and would probably kick us out if we brought in the triplets to live with us,” Sara explained.
“My apartment is only for two people,” Wiatt explained.
“So, the best option is you, Eric,” Lewis added.
Eric was dumbfounded that his former students picked him to be the caretaker of the triplets. “Look I appreciate you guys choosing me, but I’m raising Carly and taking care of Oliver’s siblings. Three more is a lot!” He exclaimed.
John shushed the oldest adult as he pointed to Jake and James who were asleep.
“Sorry,” Eric whispered. He then remembered Sara had a caretaker growing up and wondered if they would be of any assistance., “Sara, do you think Celio could take in the triplets?”
Sara shook her head. “As much as they want to, Celio is busy as a therapist and helping their brother with important business.” She explained.
Eric sighed, knowing his other option was out at the moment. He then felt Oliver put a hand on his shoulder. “You're doing a great job taking care of Ben and Liz.” He said. “I believe you can handle it.”
“Plus it’s only temporary till we hear anything from their mom,” Lewis added.
“If anything, I’ll bring it up during tomorrow’s meeting,” Sara said.
“Alright,” Eric said, giving a small smile. “I’ve always trusted you three before. Guess I gotta put my trust in you again.”
The Founder Trio looked at each other and smiled.
“Yeah, wasn’t the last time you trusted those three with something, your house became a nightclub?” Wiatt asked.
Eric’s eyes widened. “Wait what?”
“Nothing!” The Founder Trio yelled running over to Wiatt. Lewis and Oliver covered his mouth, while Sara put him in a chokehold. “He said nothing.” The three glared at the smaller boy, who gave a nervous, yet muffled chuckle.
Eric was confused, but it was getting late, he’ll talk about what Wiatt brought up about the trio tomorrow. He then went to Jake and put him on his back, while he held James in his arms. John looked up at the older man and followed him out of the facility to his car.
At Eric’s house, Carly was still awake as she waited for her dad to come home. She called her father, and he said he’ll be home soon. The young girl was about to call her dad again but saw his car coming into view. Her smile widened as she ran out of the house and watched as her father pulled in.
Eric came out of the car and smiled seeing his daughter still awake. “Hi, ladybug.” He whispered.
“Where were you?” Carly asked.
Her father didn’t say a word and stepped aside to show his daughter why he didn’t come home on time. Her eyes widened as she saw the Walker Triplets, who were all asleep in the car. She looked up at her father, hoping he could explain himself.
“I’ll tell you once we’re inside,” Eric whispered.
Carly nodded and helped her father carry one of the triplets inside. She carried Jake, while her father carried James and John. The two put the triplets in the guest room before Eric led his daughter to her room, and told her everything that happened.
“I can’t believe someone, a mother even would just leave their kids alone at the facility like that!” Carly exclaimed.
“I know, ladybug,” Eric replied. “Hopefully tomorrow we’ll hear from the triplets' mother.”
Carly frowned as her father tucked her in and kissed her forehead. “Night my little ladybug.”
“Night, Dad.” Carly replied before closing her eyes and falling asleep. Eric smiled and turned off the lights in her room before closing the door softly.
Before he went to sleep he decided to check on the Acrimony twins and the Walker Triplets. First were the twins who were sound asleep, but from the looks of it, Liz was reading one of her comics before she fell asleep. Eric smiled and went to her bed, closing the book and putting it on top of her drawer. He then left the twins' room and went to check on the triplets in the guest room.
The triplets were fast asleep, hugging each other. Eric saw they were fine, closed the door, and went to his room. He changed out of his regular clothes and into his Ribbon Dancer-themed pajamas before going to bed.
The following morning, Wiatt and many of the Dreamworld workers were in the meeting room discussing with one another before the founders arrived.
The young mechanic yawned as these meetings started an hour or so early before the facility opened for the day.
The second the door opened, the founder trio and Eric came in. The latter sat down with the rest of his co-workers.
“Alright darlings, let’s settle down,” Lewis spoke up. Everyone turned to face the three founders as the meeting was about to begin. “Now before we start the meeting I do want to bring up an incident that happened last night at the facility.”
Many of the workers looked at each other in worry, confused at what happened at the facility last night. “What did happen last night?” Lisa, one of the managers asked.
“Apparently we had triplets abandoned here last night, and we couldn’t contact their mom.” Sara started. “We hoped Eric got a call back, or someone came here last night looking for them, but nothing.”
Eric cleared his throat, making everyone face him. “If I could speak Sara.” He started. “The triplets stayed with me for the night, however as much as I want to take care of them, it’s a bit much at the moment.”
“S-So,” Oliver spoke up. “We were wondering if anyone is willing to take in a pair of three 8-year-olds.”
“No.” The trio turned to face a young man around their age wearing a Madhouse uniform, with the front tips of his hair blue. He quickly got up from his seat, “No, absolutely fucking not! I’m out!” He yelled as he left the meeting room and slammed the door.
“Figured that would happen,” Sara said.
Another young man wearing glasses and a Trampoland uniform, turned to the founders, “If it's okay with you three. I can go check up on Hayden.” He said.
“Yes, Pen of course.” Lewis replied, “But before you go are you willing to take in triplets?”
Pen shook his head, “Sorry, my next-door neighbor just had a baby. I’m still standing despite the little rascal crying 12 hours a day.” He explained before going to find Hayden and calm him down.
“Well then, anyone else?” Lewis asked.
Everyone looked at one another nervously. Knowing the reaction on everyone’s faces none of them had the time or resources to take care of kids. The founders looked at one another and decided that they call upon someone.
“Lisa,” Lewis spoke up.
“S-Sorry sir,” Lisa replied. “My place doesn’t have room to take in triplets.”
Lewis glanced at Sara, who picked the girl next to Lisa talking with her friend in a MadHouse uniform. The young girl had brown hair with a purple butterfly hair clip on the right side of her hair and wore a Rollerrink uniform. “Franny.” She spoke up, causing Franny to look at her boss. “What about you?”
Franny gave a nervous chuckle, “Sorry Sara. I wish I could, but I can’t.” She replied.
Sara then looked over at the girl Franny was talking to, Gigi. The latter shook her head, “sorry.”
The female founder sighed and looked over at Oliver. The taller founder sighed and glanced at the person closest to him, Audrey. “Honestly I’d love to take them in, but for starters, my apartment is too small, and my parents moved to their new house after they retired.” She explained.
The founders groaned realizing none of their co-workers could take in the Walker Triplets and turned to Eric. The older man sighed, “Guess I’m stuck with them.” He said.
Audrey raised an eyebrow and looked up at the engineer. “What are you talking about?” She asked. “You took care of three kids already.”
Eric was confused, “what do you mean?” He asked.
The workers then pointed at the founder trio who were surprised as well. The trio looked at one another in shock before pointing at themselves, “Us.” They said at the same time. All the workers nodded in sync.
The Founder Trio and Eric looked at one another, and the former teacher let out a smile. “Well I mean you three were the best in my class.” He explained.
“And didn’t you take them to places like amusement parks and the competitions they competed in?” Audrey asked.
“Also,” Wiatt added, “from what Lewis told me, you always had them stay at your place to study or stay the night.”
The founders were chuckling nervously, realizing their co-workers did have a point. Eric did care for them, as the trio didn’t have a father figure in their lives. Sure Sara had a caretaker, but with them being a therapist there were times when they couldn’t be available.
“Fair enough,” Eric said. “I guess I’ll take care of them till we get info on their mom.”
The Founder Trio smiled and decided to end the meeting for the day. Everyone got up and went to their assigned floors and jobs, except for Wiatt who decided to stay behind with the trio and Eric.
“Do you guys want me to help?” Wiatt asked.
Lewis shook his head, “don’t worry darling we got it from here.” He reassured his boyfriend.
Wiatt nodded and looked at Eric, “so where are the triplets?” He asked.
“At home, Carly, and Oliver’s siblings are babysitting them,” Eric said.
Meanwhile at Eric’s house, Carly, Ben, and Liz were staring at the Walker Triplets who stared back. None of them knew what to do or say to each other.
“Is one of us going to say something?” Jake whispered to John.
“Not me, James?” John asked, looking at his brother.
James shook his head, but his brothers gave him a glance, which made him sigh and turn towards the older kids. “So…what do you do around here?” He asked.
“Not much.” Carly and the Acrimony Twins replied at the same time.
“Dad’s at work and usually he’ll bring us, but we need to watch you three for the day,” Carly explained.
“What about when you're not at the facility?” John asked.
“School, but it’s summer so,” Ben started and turned to his twin sister to finish his sentence.
“We just chill here, or at the facility.” Liz finished.
The triplets thought about what fun things they could do with the older kids, and James snapped his fingers as an idea came to mind. “You guys have video games?” James asked.
Carly smiled, “my dad has some old retro games he lets us play.” She said, getting up and going to a cabinet that shelved some old game systems. This caught James and Jake’s attention as they got up and looked into the cabinet, their jaws dropped seeing what kinds of games were inside.
The games Eric had were old and retro. “Pick which one you want and I’ll help you set it up,” Carly explained.
“Are these retro games?” James asked.
Carly nodded with a smile.
“These are ancient!” Jake yelled.
“Don’t say that in front of my dad, it makes his hair turn gray faster.” Carly reminded them. Jake and James chuckled at the thought of it. Carly rolled her eyes but smiled. “Well, which game system sounds fun for you guys?”
The two brothers looked at each other and pointed at the GameCube. Carly removed it from the shelf and put it down. She then opened up another cabinet and pulled out a couple of games before going over to the tv and setting up.
Back at the facility, Lewis was in his office until he got a phone call. “H-Hello?” He answered. “Uh yeah, this is Lewis Bright, one of the founders.” Lewis listened to what the person on the other line had to say. He quickly grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down everything the person over the phone told him. “T-That’s great! Thank you! we’ll go see her right now.” He hung up the phone and went over to Oliver’s office.
“Darlings!” Lewis yelled, causing Oliver and Sara to look up. “I got a call from someone who knows the triplets!”
“That’s great!” Sara beamed.
Lewis nodded, “They even gave me the address of the apartment complex they live in.” He explained.
Oliver’s eyes widened, “wait! An address?” He asked.
“Yeah, the lady over the phone, Marissa, told me her daughter knows the triplets and says their mom is sick,” Lewis explained.
Oliver and Sara looked at each other nervous about this. “Are you sure you aren’t being tricked?” Oliver asked, again. “This sounds suspicious.”
Lewis knew his timid friend was right, and that “Marissa” could be leading Lewis into a trap. “I know darling, but we need to head over there to see if the triplets' mom is okay.”
“If you said we, does that mean we’re going with you?” Sara asked.
Lewis nodded. Sara and Oliver looked at each other before Sara spoke up, “Oh alright, count me in.” She said going over to Lewis.
Oliver stuttered a bit, “B-but Sara!” He exclaimed.
“Relax, I can keep Lewis and you safe,” Sara reassured her best friend.
Oliver sighed seeing his friends were willing to go there. “Alright.” He sighed. Lewis and Sara smiled and the three went over to Eric, who was talking with Wiatt about helping him with some engineering plans.
“Darling! We got information on the triplets mom! We’re heading over there right now.” Lewis explained.
“Alright be safe you three,” Eric said to the trio.
Lewis smiled. “You and Wiatt are in charge till we get back.” He said.
Wiatt looked shocked the second he was told he was in charge. “Wait, why me?” He asked.
“You're dating a founder, so you get an automatic leadership position like Eric!” Sara exclaimed as she and her friends left.
The mechanic’s mouth dropped as he looked over at the older adult, who didn’t seem to mind being put in charge. “Do they do this when Lewis and the others are not around?” He asked.
Eric nodded, “yep, before you arrived they picked me and random co-workers or the animatronics to run Dreamworld if they aren’t around.” He explained.
Wiatt was speechless, but he didn’t know how to respond to it. “I’m just glad this building didn’t collapse.” That was all Wiatt could say.
“Eh…” Eric trailed off before chuckling. “Almost happened.”
Wiatt’s eyes widened and he turned to the engineer in shock. Eric turned and gave a sheepish smile towards the young mechanic.
The Founder Trio took Lewis’s car and drove to the address where the Walker Triplets lived. Once they arrived, the trio felt nervous thinking Oliver was right, maybe they were about to fall into a trap.
“H-Hey. We’ll be fine guys.” Sara reassured her friends. She put her hands in her pocket, which held a pocket knife as she led the group.
Lewis looked at the paper and read the apartment number. “It’s C-063, darling.” He said.
Sara nodded and the three went upstairs to where the apartment was located. They passed a few doors before finding C-063. The trio looked at each other before Lewis decided to knock on the door. The three waited for a bit, but no answer.
Oliver knocked on the door again, yet still no answer.
“Hello!” Lewis yelled. “Is someone here?”
The door unlocked and a woman with bags under her blue eyes and black hair, wearing a blue plaid robe.
The Founder Trio held their breath as the smell of alcohol came through. They tried to keep it professional in hopes of talking to the woman without upsetting her.
“What?” She groaned.
“Hi, are you Mrs. Walker?” Lewis asked, forcing a smile on his face.
Mrs. Walker sighed as she leaned through the doorway. “Yeah, who are you?” She asked.
“I’m Lewis Bright, and these are my two friends, Sara and Oliver, we own Dreamworld Entertainment,” Lewis explained.
“Ah.” Mrs. Walker took out a cigarette and lit it before putting it in her mouth and letting it out, “did the boys cause trouble?”
“N-No ma’am, they were left at the facility last night,” Sara said. “We just wanted to know why you didn't pick them up.”
Mrs. Walker said nothing and took another swing of her cigarette. “Because I was enjoying my bottle of wine.” She replied.
Sara turned to her friends, who just gave nervous looks. They never dealt with a situation like this before. Angry parents or parents in fear their kids ran off and no one could find them.
“Um…okay…” Sara trailed off. “Um, if you’d like we can drop them off here…”
Mrs. Walker’s eyes widened before she started laughing. Sara jumped and stepped back a bit holding Oliver and Lewis in fear. Mrs. Walker stopped laughing and started to cough, probably due to smoking. Once she stopped she glared at the founder trio, “I don’t care what you do with them. All I can say is they ruined my life, my marriage, everything I have going for me. If anything I hope they’re like their father and would run off with some brute.” She spat.
The founder trio felt their blood boiling as they glared at the “mother”. Now it was Oliver’s turn to step up and speak to this vile woman. “Listen here!” Oliver snapped. Lewis and Sara’s eyes widen in shock. They never heard Oliver raise his voice before.  “Those are your kids! I’ve met a woman like you, and that was my own mom!” He yelled.
Sara and Lewis looked at one another, remembering Oliver’s home life sucked too. His own parents ignored him and his siblings and barely cared for them.
“It’s never your kids' fault that your life got like this, but blaming them for your misfortunes makes me sick! So you're given an option: Fix your life and care for your kids or lock up like some sore loser and never see them again!” Oliver continued, yelling.
Mrs. Walker didn’t react other than slam the door on Oliver’s face. He didn’t flinch but glared before walking back to the car. “Let’s go and tell Eric about this bitch.” He said.
“Darling,” Lewis said, reaching out to his friend.
“I’m fine, Lewis,” Oliver said coldly.
Lewis and Sara looked at one another and followed Oliver closely behind. Once they made it back to Lewis’s card, Oliver went to the front passenger seat and slammed the car door. Not long after, Lewis and Sara got into the car and drove back to tell Eric everything.
Eric made it home from another long day at the facility. Once he entered his home, he saw his daughter, the triplets, and the Acrimony Twins laughing over watching funny videos on Liz’s tablet.
“Well, looks like you guys had fun today,” Eric said.
Carly looked up and smiled. She got up from the couch and hugged her dad. “Hey Dad! How was work?” She asked.
“It was a normal day,” Eric replied, hugging his daughter back, “but I got some news for the triplets.”
The triplets looked at each other before looking up at the older man, “what is it?” James asked.
“It turns out someone found out about your mom, and Lewis and the rest of the founders are heading there now,” Eric explained.
“Oh, that’s good,” Jake replied.
Eric was confused, “good? Aren’t you three excited?”
“We are, it’s just…” Jake trailed off, but before he could explain, there was a knock on the door.
Eric turned to the door and opened it to see the founder trio looking upset. The older man knew this wasn’t good news. “What happened?” He asked.
“We need to talk,” Oliver said. “Privately.”
Eric’s eyes widened as he looked back at the triplets who frowned knowing the founders found out about their mom.
Eric took the founders to his backyard where they could tell him everything in secret. They told him everything he needed to know about the triplets’ mother and what kind of woman she was. Like Oliver, he too was angry hearing what the triplets had to go through.
Jake watched through the window and saw the anger forming on Eric’s face.
“I can’t believe it! How can a woman treat her own kids like that?!” He yelled.
The Founder Trio didn’t say anything as they didn’t know themselves. Sure, Oliver could relate to the triplets, but he couldn’t even understand why his parents never cared for him or his twin siblings.
“You're not thinking of taking them back there, are you?” Oliver asked.
Eric shook his head giving the founders some relief. “I’ll take them in. I don’t think this woman wouldn’t put up a fight for me taking her kids.” He said.
Jake smiled hearing it before he was noticed by Sara. The young boy got nervous and stopped watching the adults. He decided to head back into the bedroom he and his brothers were in.
Sara opened the door and stopped the young boy, “hey, Jake right?” Sara asked.
“Y-Yeah,” Jake replied.
“Saw you spying on us, and we want to know did you and your brothers know your mom was…” Sara‘a voice trailed off. She tried to think of a word to best describe his “mom”.
“Mean?” Jake asked. Sara turned to him. “Yeah, but John and James say she’s just tired, but I don’t think that’s true.”
Sara held her hand out for the young boy, who grabbed it as she led the young boy outside. He then took one of the empty seats and sat down facing the adults. “I-uh-I’m guessing you want me to share what’s been going on, huh?” Jake asked.
“Only what makes you comfortable,” Eric said.
Jake nodded. “Well, when our dad was around there were arguments, a lot of them going on.” He started. “I think Dad, didn’t like us since we were triplets, and said we were expensive. So, that’s when mom would abandon us like at parks, or stores. However, she would pick us up at night when Dad was asleep or someone else would give us a ride.”
The adults frowned realizing the triplets had it hard even then.
“Then a year ago, Mom and Dad got into a bad argument. and Dad left, but he hasn’t come back.” Jake continued. “After he left is when mom started to act the way she does.”
Eric frowned and went over to the young boy and put his arm around him. Jake looked up, and see the look on the grown ups eyes, he knew Eric was allowing him to stop.
However, Jake wanted to be brave and kept on going. “Not long ago, I tried calling my dad, but someone else picked up the phone, a woman named Maria.” He explained. “I heard of her before, dad mentioned she was just a friend, and that he spent the night at her place before.” Jake paused and looked at the founders, “is that normal?”
The founders and Eric were in shock. They didn’t realize it was that bad. However, none could explain to the young boy what his father was doing.
“I-It depends, darling,” Lewis said, in a low voice.
“I see,” Jake replied. “Well, mom found out, and…” He stopped, touching his bandage.
“She caused harm to you, didn’t she?” Oliver asked.
Jake nodded.
“You and your brothers don’t deserve this kind of treatment,” Oliver said.
“I know.” Jake sighed.
“Jake.” Eric started. The young boy looked at the older man who turned to face him. “My dad walked out of me too, and while my mom didn’t go the path your mom did. I understand that feeling.” He explained. “However, you and your brothers won’t be alone anymore. I’ll take you guys in and you’ll get to experience what a family is truly like.”
Jake’s eyes widened and soon they sparkled like stars, “r-really?!” He asked.
“Really,” Eric replied ruffling the young boy’s hair.
“T-Thank you,” Jake said. Soon his stomach started to rumble, which made him chuckle.
“I’m guessing you're getting hungry?”
Jake nodded, making Eric chuckle.
“Well, it’s almost dinner time. Guess I’ll start now.” Eric said. He then turned to the founder trio, “you three want to join us?”
The trio’s eyes widened, they remembered Eric was an amazing cook. “Sure!” They beamed at the same time.
“N-Need help with setting up the table?” Oliver asked. “I-I can do that.”
Jake smiled seeing the trio ask Eric for help during dinner. He sighed and followed the adults back inside knowing he and his brothers lives were about to get better.

Wiatt isn't having fun in this AU. I wish I can explain why, but I don't want to spoil anything until I get the fanfic out.
