I've always heard you expect the love you think you deserve but I know what I deserve and it isn't this. Hell no. I deserve someone who would fling themselves from the highest peak just to hear my voice cry out "No!". I deserve someone who lives for the breath I take and the way my mouth curves when I smile. I want that. I want someone who loses themselves in the green around my pupil and the way my love of the moon is bordering on sickness. Please don't misunderstand, I want my lover to still have their own spaces to take up. I am not their end all be all. But in those quiet moments we share, I want to know I am the center of their whole world. Their voice is the rain for my dry soul and I am the blinding heat that warms their heart.

Oh, to be a star. A fire that burns so hot, so bright, it can be seen from anywhere within the universe. I am that star. And that silver glimmer you see in the night sky is my soul calling for yours. "Find me," it whispers, "Find me and make me yours."

Laika's still up there. not her body, sure, but her soul is. i saw it through my telescope one night when i was looking for aliens. she was sniffing for table scraps under saturn's ring. she chases comets and bites down on satellites. i saw her napping by neptune, she was kicking her feet. passing through the oort cloud is like the stroke of a hand on her fur. eyes like marbles and four little paws like flames. she bobs through jupiter's moons like cold moscow streets. up there the stars are a great big field. and look, she's running so fast. god damn, look at her go.
