Looks we love
We're loving the immaculate detail of this day!
Plus it's so easy to take this bag from day to night.
Day Bag
Throw the long gold chain over one should or wear it cross body to get your day started. This bag is also big enough to fit all your everyday necessities.
You can dress it down, for a day look, with a simple white collared shirt and jeans, or add it on top of a dress and cardigan look.
Evening Clutch
The versatility of the bag lends itself to being held, in one arm, as a clutch (like the image above). After a long evening, you have the capabilities of slinging it over one shoulder.
Dress up your look by playing off of the detail on the bag. Add gold heels to your look, or a statement necklace. Break out your little black dress, or pair it with a tailored trousers and blazer look.
Either way you go, a bag like this will automatically upgrade your look.
Don't forget to use #collectedstyle to show us how you style your day to night bag.

How to get away with metallic
Love the bold look metallics bring to any outfit?
Keep these three tips in mind next time you style with metallics and you'll be as good as gold.
1) Matte Matters
If you are looking to get away with wearing metallic clothing in the day time stick with pieces that are matte. A matte skirt or trousers are more appropriate for the office or school- while shimmery metallics scream night time.
2)Accessorize
The safest way to pull off wearing metallics (without looking like the tin man) is through accessories. Look for a gold clutch, or a handbag with gold detailing. Dress up your look with silver tipped heels, or a metallic collar necklace.
3) Neutral is crucial
Ready to try full on bold metallics? Be sure to pair them with pieces of a neutral colour palette. Gold and copper tones pair beautifully with greys, pinks, and creams. While Silver should be styled with blacks, greys and whites.

Looks We Love
We love how collector Meghan warmed up her look for the cold weather, with great transition accessories she found on the collected app.
Wondering how to do the same? Well it's all in the details.
Shop the collected app to find the pieces to take your outfit from spring time to snow time.
Circle Scarf: This cozy piece is the quickest way to winterize any outfit. If you typically sport a neutral colour scheme then opt for a scarf with a pattern or a punch of colour to compliment your look. If you are more likely to be seen in printed pieces and bright colours, look for a scarf that is a solid colour so it compliments (not distracts) from your outfit.
Tights: We all know that feeling. The cold weather hits, but we aren't ready to give up wearing our skirts. The solution? Tights, but nobody said they only had to serve one purpose. Look for a pair with either a pattern (like the heart ones Meghan is wearing) or a solid colour pair, to add to your outfit.
Fur Accessories: Nothing says winter time better then (faux) fur. Meghan's clutch is a great example of how you can style your outfit for the cold weather based on accessories, not the clothing. Adding (faux) fur pieces to your look is a great way to transition your outfits. Also look for hats, scarves, boots, or jackets with fur trimming.
Don't forget to use #collectedstyle on your photos so we can find your photos and let you know how much we love them.

Back To Basics
It's that time of year again...winter is coming.
Never fear, our back to basic styling tips will keep you warm and stylish- head to toe. So check the list out before heading to the collected app to stock up on some must have basics.
Before we begin let's clarify something, the word basic has been getting some bad rep recently, but nothing is wrong with styling yourself in a basic colour scheme. Black will always be the new black, no colour is more chic then white and grey, well it's the best of both worlds.
1. All Black Everything:
Do not be afraid of wearing all black, it has become the unwritten uniform of the fashion industry. It is also one of the safest way to experiment with layering. The slimming nature of black allows how slim tees, bulky sweaters, and oversized coats to be worn one-on-top of another. It also makes a great base if you want to add other colours into your layering mix.So what have we learnt? Black is one of the most forgiving colours that can be worn by anyone. Hey, the little black dress is a classic for a reason (hint hint, it's in the name).
2. White After Labour Day
Yes, we are encouraging you to break the rule 'don't wear white after labour day'...just don't tell Stacey or Clinton. There is a reason why they call it a 'crisp white shirt' and when paired with white pants- there's not more crisp. An all white outfit exudes confidence, perhaps because there is a level of danger that comes with it (be careful of what you eat and drink, where you sit, in fact just be careful of everything). It is also a great way to make your accessories pop and show off their details.
3. Grey Day
Grey is a colour of compromise. Not feeling the edge of an all black outfit, or the sophistication of an all white ensemble? Grey is the answer. Although it is less likely to be featured solo (in a head-to-toe outfit) when paired with black or white, it balances out the look. It is a soft neutral that can be paired with just about any colour.
So don't let the winter breeze blow you down, and bundle up in your basics. Use #collectedstyle to show us how you styled your back to basics look.

Collected Style Q&A
We sat down with avid collector Vivian and asked her, her favourite way to use the app, favourite fashion trends and everything in-between.
'Most people know you for your modern boho outfits and colourful accessories, but how would you describe your personal style?'
'You pretty much summed it up, but to expand on that I usually joke that I love clothing so much that I can never decide what to wear, and that is why my outfits are typically so layered.'
Do you have any tips on how to achieve that coveted layered look?'
'Well I mostly look for pieces that pair well together, and that I mean the colours, fabrics and patterns all compliment and contrast one another equally. The key to the best layered look is to make sure it looks effortless, and to pair fitted pieces with oversized pieces. People also forget that it's not just clothing that you can layer, but that layering accessories is a fun trick as well.
'What's your favourite way to use the collected app?'
'I love that I can sell, shop, and search style ideas all in one place. I mainly use the app to search for unique pieces, or the hidden gems in someones closet, that they no longer require. It's like a modern version of thrift shopping- and I can do it all from my bed!'
'You definitely do seem to find amazing pieces, any advice on how to find the perfect piece?'
'I think the perfect piece means something different to everyone, but as long as you stay true to your personal style then your set. It's always fun to try something a little different then you usually wear, and I find the collected app is a great place to do that. Instead of walking around to 100 different shops or online sites I can just scroll through and find what speaks to me.'
'It's been so much fun talking to you today, thank you so much. Any last words for your fellow collectors out there?'
'Just to have fun and experiment with fashion, it's the best way to find out what makes you feel confident and comfortable.'
