A portraitist visited the court yesterday. We paid them handsomely out of sheer vanity, of course, before they even began working. They were quite high on urdrupes. They also got most of the court high on urdrupes and left before we could complain.

It isn't the village per se, it is the gang in it. If we have an in there, we can easily sew doubt and topple it over if we have to. We already are losing so much with the urling bandits, nevermind this new group of gelfling. I'm sure the bandits fence a lot of their stolen goods to the gang and vice versa.

Yes, the Assassin. The one who reeks of death and looks like a ghost. I am glad I take after my father more. Dagger Root is one of those small villages at the edges of Skarith. The ones who fail tithes quite often, but don't really produce anything of worth so they are left alone. Well, lately there has been talk of the 'Root closing off from outsiders. But also more foot traffic to the village has been reported. Apparently, a gang now owns it. A gang that seems to steal and extort from other villages and produce urpdrup juice. Thus, efforts have been made to squash this gang before it becomes a nuisance.

Sometimes my dad likes to reminisce on how we used to get along. Yeah sure, I loved him when I was a tiny baby before I knew anything about the world, and before he started lying to me and being controlling.

I get why he did it now, but it was a mistake. SkekLi handled it wrong. He ought to have told me I was fathered by a Heretic whose name is forbidden, made me keep it secret. It didn't occur to him that there was more risk involved in just letting me run around openly complaining that no one will tell me who my father is?

Anyway, yeah, that's my baby picture, skekLi still keeps it above his desk. >.>

Urgh, yes, Scythe the Far-Walker. He takes after our sire more and so he is often away exploring. Though I hear these days he is forming some connections to Dagger Root. He is a rude, reckless, thieving and all around undignified creature.
