Stoneclan

“Together we will build a stairway to the stars”

StoneClan cats are clever and quick. They have both sharp minds and sharp claws, and they love to play pranks and challenge others to battles of wit. They must be able to move quickly and be able to jump from rock to rock. They are fiercely competitive and value strong loyalty and relationships, and are extremely expressive and loud.

Stones of all sizes are collected and used to build small shrines in the corners of the camp. The seer sleeps inside the largest one, and it is said that when within, StarClan can speak to you. Stoneclan cats also work together to build dens from large, fallen boulders that have detached from the main cliff sides. When you wish for a cat to become your mate, you must give them a stone that reflects their eyes.

StoneClan territory is the tall, rocky hillside that leads up to the castle, and os uphill from the lake. Here, they hunt small rodents that live in the crags of the rocks, and also the birds of prey that nest there.

Mistclan

“Put your heart in the song and the stars will sing back to you”

MistClan cats are distant and strange. As they are notably isolationist they have tics that are otherwise unknown to the other clans and prefer to keep to themselves. They have a rich enjoyment and understanding of song and history, and it is part of the warrior examination to be able to recite the song about the Clan’s founding and one other of their or their mentor’s choosing. They value their blood relationships and many cats can trace their bloodline to the formation of the Clans.

Songs are a major aspect of Mistclan life, originating from the clan’s first leader. Songs are written and performed at various milestones in a cats life. An apprentice will write and perform their song in order to graduate, and the leader in turn will write a small ballad to commemorate the occasion. Mateship ceremonies are also considered very sacred, and beautiful melodies are written between the cats involved in the ceremony, which each cat will then perform to each other. The leader will also write a song for a mateship ceremony, on top of being the one to weave some reeds to commemorate the occasion forever. Reeds and rushes are tied and knotted together in distinctive patterns with flowers, dyes, and other objects to communicate historical events, folklore, and important legal decisions. Personal history can also be recorded in this way. Some cats wear bracelets or crowns of their history or family tree.

MistClan is the intermediary between the hillside and pine forest, residing in a misty forest of many different types of trees. They have the largest claim on the lake as well as the stream coming off it, and use it as one of their main food supplies.

Timberclan

“Together we will paint the world”

Timberclan cats are large and intelligent. Showing strong emotion is considered to be unsatisfactory, so they specialize in keeping their emotions to themselves. They tell the story of their clan through murals, and different stories are painted onto each tree. These stories will never be forgotten, as each is taught by the leader to each generation of apprentices, as they were taught by their leader. Timberclan cats are EXTREMELY coordinated, and every apprentice is taught the extreme importance of knowing your clan and working together.

Timberclan specializes in distinct painted patterns with paints created with berry juice for fur paintings, and berry juice, honey and tree sap for designs. When a cat graduates to each rank, they are given their choice in color of paint to create an art piece on the wall of their new den. This leaves the interior of the burrows immaculately decorated, and leaves the dens smelling constantly of berries and tree sap. Those who aren’t especially talented will leave a paw print.

Timberclan’s territory makes up the pine forest leading up to the abandoned castle. The forest is littered in the ruins of the wall surrounding the castle, so large sheets of rock are common, which makes perfect for painting. The territory leads up to the Stoneclan mountains, and a stretches along part of the lake.
