Neil could really have been a very suave criminal mastermind if he'd chosen to be. I'm rereading the kings men and the whole thing is basically just Neil gently manipulating people to do what he wants them to, and figuring out how to put anyone who won't come around to his way of thinking (Aaron) under pressure so that they just do what he wants. He wouldn't need to be as violent as his father, the guy just knows how to read people and figure out what they want, and what they can't afford to lose. He'd have them eating out of his hand if he wanted to do anything more than play stickball have boyfriend.

Hilarious that even Wymack, who has never been wrong about a person yet, calls Kevin the "resident drama queen". Like, that is his own son, a kid he saved when he had his hand broken thought his life was over, a kid he's proud of beyond words. Still doesn't change the fact that he's really fucking dramatic all the time.

(It's honestly impressive of Kevin considering his competition is Neil "huge fucking problem" Josten and Andrew "try me I will cut you" Minyard.)

1 literally the only thing I want in life is to be done with tsc2's first draft before ffxiv dawntrail comes out, bc once that releases I will Not be writing. at present tsc1 stands at about 107K bc part of it got stripped away to create tsc2 (which does not have a title yet so I am Panicking, I hate writing books that don't have titles)

2 current ill-advised hobby is posting something to twitter & something completely different to tumblr and seeing how long it takes screenshots to show up on the opposing website. tumblr & twitter are such VASTLY different ecosystems from each other; it's a little fascinating to see how things are received on different sites (example a: I've invalidated Andrew's entire character by admitting he wasn't gay in every single draft since the 90s / example b: me not being particularly fond of Allison is harmless vs very damaging). sometimes I wish there was no overlap whatsoever between the sites, but there's no stopping that

3 was joking around with the RC staff the other week about the original comics for aftg. went digging around a bit to see what I could find just for fun and realized one of the sketches from 2005 had the twins' names on it. it's been bugging me for YEARS that I can't remember anyone's original names. it's been so long I can't even remember who the first 6 were outside of Dan, Kevin, & Neil. I genuinely hate that, even as I know it's for the best. It took so long to make peace with these stories, especially after how everything unraveled the last time I was active (ayyy repeating past mistakes in the year of our lord 2024), so memory lane is not the place to linger overlong.

4 I am still coughing & wheezing a tiresome amount, but French lessons have resumed. confession: the original drive to learn French started with Inception, not Jean, I just kept putting it off bc I was trying to keep Japanese going. Jean, ftr, got his name from Jean Jacquemonde of Spriggan

I get what you are trying to say.... like it could be like this that Ao had a crush on the dorm manager when he was in high school, but like it was obviously not possible, and I'm sure that the dorm manager was not interested in him at that time( aside from him being a student with constant stomaches)

But now Ao is an adult.....sooooo... and we can see that he visits the dorms occasionally... I would say it will be an interesting story line.

Sooo having thoughts. I love Ao design so sm and they're pretty charming the few times we see them. Though I'm kinda concerned on where the author may be taking him and the dorm manager? Like, from what I understand the dorm manager is likely an adult and Ao is still in hs. I hope it ends up just something maybe wholesome and unrequited (obviously on ichinose side) and maybe a more me tor like relationship is focused, but I have trust issues with manga and its sometimes concerning tropes. Idk maybe I'm paranoid, but I find kinda concerning.
