well I think the day after lubbockgate buck skipped into work at the 118 with a big cheesy grin on his face. hen says morning buck ☕️👀 and buck says morning 🤗🥰 what are you in the mood for for breakfast? eggs? pancakes? bacon? why dont I make us a fresh fruit salad too 😄🥰 and hen says okay what has you in such a good mood this is our 3rd shift in 4 days somehow😴… and buck (now covered in flour from mixing the pancake mix too excitedly) says chris HATES chess🤩 !!!! and chim says wait didn’t chris have some big chess tournament this weekend 🤨 and buck is like yeah 😄 and eddie pulled him out of it 🤩 and told chris hes moving back in with eddie whether he likes it or not 🥹 so now eddie and chris are living together again 🥰💓😍 and then bobby walks up to buck and claps him on the shoulder and says congratulations buck, im really happy for you guys. and buck short circuits like uhh well I mean um. 🫠😧. that was all eddie I had nothing to do with it 😅 I mean. actually he said he would call me after he drops chris off at school (ravi voice in the distance: oh Im sure …) so you should just wait and say that to him 🫡 no need to congratulate me haha 😀 and in that moment eddie calls and buck picks up and eddie says buck! LMAO. buck's whole entire plots for all of 8b have been about eddie in texas. his sister literally gets serial killer kidnapped and he's still pissy at eddie bc he's leaving. the NEXT ep he's on her couch like this 🥺🥺🥺 bc eddie is in texas. he has either been on facetime with eddie or been missing eddie. or doing dog tricks for hen, which is actually very enriching for him

it's not lost on me that the role buck has taken in this storyline is the same exact one eddie asked him to play when he put him in his will. back then, buck asked if christopher's grandparents wouldn't try to take him and eddie told him that no one will ever fight for his son as hard as buck, essentially asking him to not only push back against his parents, but to also win, if that ever happened. and now, eddie isn't dead, but he's understandably hesitant to do anything that might hurt christopher by pushing too hard, and in the effort to not fight him, he'd accidentally stopped fighting FOR him for a time as well. until buck, who has full faith in eddie and doesn't share those fears, starts fighting for both of them and pushing eddie to be the kind of dad christopher needs and eddie needs to be again. all this to say the will was never about what place buck might have in their family if eddie actually died. it was always about the place he already has, the one he's earned over and over again.
