"Members of the Teamsters union went on strike at Amazon early Thursday in a labor action at seven facilities in four states coast to coast just ahead of the holiday gift-giving rush.
Amazon said that its operations will not be affected by any of the union’s actions. Although the Teamsters claim to represent 7,000 Amazon workers nationwide, that accounts for less than 1% of the company’s US workforce."
"Amazon shows no indication it is willing to reach a deal with the Teamsters or even recognizes that the union speaks for any of its workers, despite the union declaring that employees at numerous Amazon facilities have signed cards asking to join."

Disney banned an episode of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur called "The Gatekeeper," because of the current political climate in the US. So the episode is about Lunella's friend Brooklyn being targeted by the coach of a rival volleyball team, Greer, who found out she was trans and tried to stop her from playing. She even goes as far as to trap Brooklyn, Lunella and the others in the locker room, and will only let them out if they follow her "rules."
Brooklyn: "I'm trans, my very existence breaks Greer's rules, which means, as long as I'm a member of this team...we'll never escape..."
And they break out of the room specifically by breaking the rules. There's also an awesome video game-like scene where the team fights a monster-like version of Greer by throwing volleyballs at her, with streaks colored like the trans flag.
Brooklyn: "It doesn't matter how many doors people like you slam in my face. With my fight, plus my crew backing me up, I'm always gonna find my way out."
This episode is EXACTLY what trans kids need right now, but no, Disney was too spineless to air the episode. They can claim for the 69420th time that XYZ is their first gay character, they can sell rainbow Mickey Mouse pins, they can put up pride month collections on Disney+, but it's clear that they only "support" the LGBTQ+ community when it's profitable for them.

On the topic of asking you how to draw things we’re struggling with… how do you handle arms? Specifically arms and their proper connections to the body.
I’ve gotten into this habit of drawing only headshots (shoulders included) and when i try to extend it into an actual full body, I can never do the arms.
Everything else is fine, but the arms are just… no. They stayed pinned to the sides, or conveniently nonexistent, as I don’t know how to draw them proportioned properly otherwise.
I will try to explain but you can definitely find better advice elsewhere
I think first, having a solid understanding of what's going on underneath is important, here's some of the bones/muscles that are the most relevant. Knowing what the understructure looks like and how it all connects will help you figure out the surface stuff
When you move your arm, all those muscles and bones move too, when the arm goes up, it affects your clavicle, your scapula, your pecs, etc. So you're not just moving an arm, you have to think about how the shoulder/neck/chest will go along with it
same kind of deal with the back view
proportion-wise uhhh arms go down to about mid thigh and a persons wingspan is around the same width as their height head to toe

I genuinely think Mouthwashing fandom is a good example on how real life misogyny is very wired on people brains and influenced how they engage with fictional misogyny.
You have a story about a woman being assaulted and telling a man he trusted but being dismissed because he is friends with the attacker, and people fixate on shipping her with either of those men.
You have a story about how men that downplay their male friends violence, assume neutrality is the safer option, unintentionally help create an environment that's unsafe to vulnerable people, at a risk becoming a victim themselves. And people make it about toxic yaoi.
You have a character kill herself because she didn't want birth the child of her abuser. And people make AUs where she happily keep the baby.
Misogyny isn't just "I hate this women", it's also downplaying their trauma, defending those who caused it, and reducing them to mothers or wives against their wished under this idea of what womanhood is about.
I don't think we can separate fandom misogyny from it's real world influence, not yet.
#yeah#i dont engage with the fandom much because of this. like. im not against shipping or exploring messed up relationships but like#this is like. severely untasteful.#mouthwashing
