I like Witch Hat Atelier a lot bc it's core theme centers people and their betterment (whether it be yourself or others; there's no distinction on which is more important, the prosperity of one ensures the happiness of the other) and it makes all the little "life lessons" sprinkled in-between that much more meaningful

Like all the questions, and their answers— "What can I do to help?" "What can I do to become a better version of myself?" "If I do this, how will this affect everyone else?" "Why am I barred from doing [X]? Who built the barrier?"— wrapped up in this medieval, magical setting, are imbued with a love of humanity and a very good understanding of it. Because the story wants better for people, but knows we are our own obstacle for becoming better, and looks for realistic solutions for us to overcome those self-made obstacles.

getting kind of emotional abt how qifrey kneels down to talk to riche when she’s having a breakdown abt the 2nd test…its abt meeting her on her own terms & speaking to children not as a person with power, but as someone who cares abt them & is cognizant of the both inherent knowledge & authority over them that their experience gives. he believes that he knows what is best but he’s asking her if she’s ready & his body language signals that he wouldn’t push it if she truly doesn’t think she is. 

like shes looking down on him!!! he’s ceding his power to her!! he cares not just abt what he thinks is best but also what she wants!!!
