alice mentioning that snezhnaya has a perpetual motion machine... it makes me wonder, if this device is similar to the oratrice or the akasha. powered by a gnosis- a cryo gnosis, something that is impossible in our world can be possible with infinite cooling abilities.

despite being an old varka truther i’ve decided that i kind of like young varka
because let’s take a look at what he’s done for a second:
promoted diluc to cavalry captain at 14
made jean, at 17, investigate grievous acts of treason at the highest levels of the knights
left on an expedition without his logistics company, taking the cavalry but not its captain with him
and most recently: picked up a phone call while cornered on the battlefield
all this makes so much more sense if instead of being some grizzled older general with decades of battlefield experience, he’s Literally Just Some Guy in his 30s
like promoting diluc to cavalry captain at 14 makes more sense if varka himself was like 25 at the time. he was likely also promoted at 14 and didn’t see the issue. “let’s make this teenager captain of a company” probably sounds like a great idea if you yourself are barely out of college

The meaning of Solnari
Since the reveal of Rerir "Rächer of Solnari", we have learned little about this character. We know that Rächer means "to avenge" in German, and that many translations render the name to mean something like "moon hunter" or "moon avenger". He's also referred to as a "moon-hunting sinner" in the weapon skin Shattered Moon.
Nobody knows what Solnari means. At first, I thought it might be a mistake, but it's clear now that this is the canon spelling.
The wiki puts it as being composed of two Germanic words- Sól, which means "sun," and Nari (Narfi or Nörr) which means "narrow."
I see something different. Of course, we could have Sól meaning "sun", but we could also have the word sol, which means mud, and sǫlna means "to defile" in Old Norse.
Nari, to me, immediately stands out as being a role. A stjórnari is a person who steers a ship; a sýnari is a seer, a knower of eternal truth; a sammvinari is a helper; a hegnari is a punisher of men; a pínari is a tormentor.
In this pattern, I see solnari as meaning "defiler".
(there are other possible interpretations- nári can mean "feeder, nourisher" as well as "groin")

The text on the stele/grave in front of Flins. It's worn but appears to say "in sacred tribute to chudomir the aarnivalkea" in the Teyvat common script.
It would appear to refer to his father, Chudomir. Aarnivalkea are, in Finnish mythology, spots where an eternal flame associated with will-o'-the-wisps burns. This could be related to the Wild Hunt with their will-o'-the-wips heads, which are also called ignes fatui in Latin.

Alice's Note
The note Alice receives in our latest trailer is written in the celestial script and reads "aralos solnari cannon".
It's not immediately clear what this means. We'd expect "canon" if it were the moon sisters, "solnari" relates to Rerir, and we have no idea what "aralos" means.

The swan is often a prophetic bird in Germanic and other folk-belief, just as the Swan-maidens also sometimes foretell the future. In Eddic cosmogony two swans are fed in Urd’s well, the well of the Norns, and from them comes the race of swans.
what if nicole was a swan...
#I have a post about the schwanenritter as they relate to the role of swans in Germanic mythologies#anyway MUCH to consider with snow-winged geese etc

i'm sorry but how the fuck am i supposed to move on from the implication that kaeya's pirate grandpa met a mage who's a fallen ""star"" and that mage nicole happens to be a fallen angel, and the teacups used to represent her are haunting dawn winery and there's a shot in kaeya's hangout where he's Seated in front of one of those teacups, and that nicole is a prophet and the seelie have the power of foresight and schrödinger's augur kaeya, and that the name nicole is a reference to the goddess of victory nike and that the first character in kaeya's name 凱 means victory, and he has that stupid sword the harbinger of dawn that "symbolizes light and victory", and that nike was sometimes depicted as a wingless goddess to prevent her from "flying" away and that kaeya's vision is missing two wings, and that the book feline firm (written by andersdottir) depicts the love story between an underground thief cat (with a knightly gait) and a noble princess cat.
