It scares me to see how big tradwife stuff has gotten even in the last year, it is huge on Instagram. I hope Tia’s book reaches the people that it will help the most, even the minimal details in this article were absolutely chilling to read.

When the anti "LGBT propaganda" law passed in Russia, all of you were going insane and cared. Give Georgia the same energy. If you can have sympathy for our oppressors on the basis of them being queer, you should keep the same energy for us, if not more.

If this law passes, every Georgian queer person I know is so severely fucked, myself included. If you make jokes about "being illegal in several countries" you better fucking care about the countries you're apparently illegal in, or going to be illegal in.

What is this about the tumblr staff wanting to sell art data to midjourney?

An ex-colleague of mine mentioned yesterday that there may be contacts between Automattic and midjourney in that direction, but nothing is public yet and I don't have any more info. They probably won't have anything specific to share either, since they left the company weeks ago too. That being said:

I have no reason to doubt my ex-coworker word, they are a trustworthy person.

Tumblr's CEO has been absurdly enthusiastic (comically, even) about AI, and is a big fan of LLMs and 'AI' companies.

A deal with midjourney could solve tumblr financial issues (not the same company, but openAi is paying up to 5 million/year to news companies to use their content as training data... tumblr generates several orders of magnitude more content than any newspaper or any media company and it only would need a 20 to 30 million per year deal to be profitable)

So I don't have any extra info yet, but I'm keeping my ears open.

The place is busy Fridays.

They were there from as early as 3 pm up to the time of the reservation and after.

The owner was chewed out by one of the 35 mentioned, which is understandable considering they'd actually reserved the table for the time they reserved it. So the waiter, having heard this, went over to offer help, and so they went to handle this. They asked them to speed up leaving, seeing as they were in fact done eating and were doing some skit thing.

The owner, it wasn't the manager, denied that he accepted the offer of help.

it's situations like this that make waiters hate their customers so much.

you know other people have probably articulated this better than i can, but honestly, on some level, transphobes don't actually see gender as something that is biological and innate, and they do have a concept of people who are outside of the gender binary - they just don't see that as a valid identity, but as a punishment. in their eyes, you can fail at being a man or a woman, and you can fail so badly that you are not seen as any gender at all, but you are not allowed to claim this as an actual identity, you are not allowed to intentionally express yourself that way, you are not allowed to enjoy it. gender is something that is given to you and taken from you, and you're not supposed to have any choice in the matter. your options are supposed to be to conform, or to be dehumanized. they don't want you to be able to choose anything else.
