Today an atheist subhuman tried to tell my Christian wife, whose Christianity gets her through the trauma of having been physically abused, that the bible encourages you to hit your kids and that her parents were biblically correct to hit her. Obviously this resurfaced some emotions in her so she wasn’t in the state to respond. But I’ll just shut this shit down real quick

The quote he used was taken out of context from Proverbs 13:24. It was the quote “He who withholds his rod hates his son,” but the full quote is actually “He who withholds his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.” Which is basically saying a parent that chooses to discipline their kid but goes about it the wrong way cares more for their child than a negligent parent with no discipline. But a parent that truly loves their kid will discipline them through caring and explanatory means.

So to the piece of shit that tried to use her trauma as some sort of zinger against her religious and cultural beliefs
