She furrowed her brows at what Yukikaze was mumbling to himself, clearly not awake yet. The curiosity of what he could be talking and dreaming about got the better of her, as expected from a journalist, and she leaned down to his sleeping form on the couch to listen more closely to him. It was a great mistake, what she quickly came to realize when he practically yelled into her ear about some bomb. “What--” The young woman gasped and stumbled backwards, just in time so her co-worker would not collide with her from jumping onto his feet all of a sudden.
Her amber eye squinted at him while he rambled on until he finally gathered himself with slightly reddened cheeks. At that, she could not suppress an amused smile, even though she kept her mouth shut and just let him lead the way to the car. Sometimes, Amber had to admit, he could be quite adorable ... Yet, she would not forget how he could become a handful at times, too. But either way, there was no denying that she did actually like working with him as he often managed to ease the situations and get her back onto her feet when she was stressing too much which happened now and then.
“Thank you, my gallant hero,” she joined his joke before climbing into the car through the door that Yuk held open for her. It was so like him to act so funny even in hectic moments, and she gently shook her head at that relaxed state he was in. People should have his nerves, the female thought to herself chuckling while waiting for him to get into the car on the other side. When he started the engine and asked for a destination, she momentarily ignored the cheerful tone to get back to the serious business, “Straight to the far east of Woodsboro.”
“We all go a little mad sometimes.”

After she was back to being alone, she continued her way across the streets without any destination. She would just keep moving ... wherever that might take her. Either way, the female did not really mind it because it could have been worse for her - Or that is what she believed anyway.
However, her newfound solitude did not last for too long as her shoulders were gripped by unfamiliar hands in a rough manner and therefore stopping her in her tracks. That alone did not surprise her much, for it had happened before already, but the fact that the hands belonged to the two men she had just met a few moments ago did. “Excuse me, ... ?” She started, her question did not come to an ending though. Instead her petite figure was getting dragged off by them, earning quite dubious yet intimidated looks from the bystanders.
Despite the sudden change in the situation, the woman kept her cool and did not even try to resist their harsh grips since she knew that she would not be able to escape them anyway. After all, her body was not exactly in the best of shapes to be suited for running around. Besides, she did not understand what was happening now so there was no need for her to act suspicious or feel guilty for anything. After the two realized that she was indeed not attempting to do something funny, their fingers eased a little on her bony shoulders, allowing her to walk more comfortably. Still, when her single orb grazed their faces, a stern look was etched into their features as they stared right ahead until they came to a halt in front of a ... child in uniform, perhaps?
The sight made her rose a brow, although she minded to make that movement as decently as possible since it could be considered as rude to express her surprise so openly. Howsoever, she could not help it as the guys beside her treated the kid as their superior the way they stood perfectly straight and reported in clear voices, “We’ve brought her, Sir!” Aside from that, she began to wonder why the young and unknown one would call for her presence?
«Where is Haruse»
Continuation of the folowing event: 💀 - 💀 (TW: Blood, Gore, Death, Punishment ^)
@the-lost-orb
Even while they did not really like to be the last one of the Hawks to start the day, sometimes some extra sleep was much needed and so, Haruse would let them sleep in. It was easy to notice if they needed it or not as Haruse entered the room, if they were moving or showing signs that they were trying to wake up, the blue haired would just help them to do so, smoothly to ensure that Kuroyuri won’t be in a sour mood for the rest of the day. But if the child did not show any sign, that meant they were in a heavy sleep and needed to regain some energy, in that case Haruse would just come later, leaving everything ready for his commander to start the day with ease.
As they finally woke up, breakfast was waiting for them along with a little note. Haruse just left a few words to remind them of a few tasks that still needed to be done, say that their uniform was ready and to enjoy their meal. Just that was enough to brighten their mood in the morning. Imagining the Begleiter smile through those words was heartwarming though the PS. left them with a little pout on the face. He did go out without them? He could have waited for them to get up and ready, they would have gladly accompanied him!
Half happy, half grumpy, the young Commander did not waste more time to start the day, only following the few notes his precious Begleiter had left here and there to facilitate their work. With that, they were done pretty quickly and just looking forward for Haruse to come back, wandering across the hallways, visiting a few officers. This is only while sharing lunch with Katsuragi, who so nicely invited them, knowing that the blue-haired was out that they got informed about the fact that Haruse did not go out alone. He was in the company of that one-eyed female slave…
After that, Kuroyuri was left even more irritated, back to their office and just circling around the room like an animal into its cage. They were looking at the clock almost every five minutes and as time passed with excruciating slowness, they could imagine all the scenarios possible about what could happen between the two, every of them only making them more and more upset. They wanted Haruse to come back already, they wanted to scold him just for leaving without them, even more for spending time alone with that girl. Minutes turned to hours, long hours, endless hours, way too long. What was taking him that long, it was not like him, even while he got distracted, to stay out for so long, especially since he had turned into something less human and had to be monitored by the rest of the army. He could not be too far… they just needed to trust him.
But as they went to the desk, trying to find something to do to keep their mind busy, a very disagreeable feeling grew in their chest. Pink eye widening for a moment, they instinctively turned their head towards the window. As the feeling grew, they could feel an inexplicable pain clenching to their heart, this sudden feeling was almost suffocating, it was close to worry but much stronger. It was enough waiting, they needed to find Haruse, they could not tell why it was much needed now but they had no time to think about it. Rushing out of their office, they gathered a few men, giving orders that some of them seemed to be expecting and in no time, the Commander was out looking for their Begleiter with some soldiers to cover more areas.
The feeling was still there and only getting worse every time they would get a negative answer from people they were questioning. They needed to find him…. or her. No matter how long the search would take, they won’t stop until they got a positive answer, but they were not the only one to decide, sadly. It was getting too dark to keep searching for the day.
«💀»“ Haruse…. where are you…”
It was getting cold, colder than it should be for the child. The pain won’t leave their chest, but they won’t give up though, no matter how long it would take, they would find him or something leading to him… they needed to find her too. That damn slave was not going to get away so easily after that, she must know where their dearest Begleiter was.
…Two interminable weeks had passed…
The rest of the Hawks themselves did not dare trying to stop them and Ayanami gave them all support for them to continue the research, taking care of the permission matters to try and give them as much freedom as possible. Every two days, Kuroyuri could visit one of the districts, though they had to be heavily escorted by more men, not only to help them but to watch over them, especially with their unstable condition. They lacked of sleep, they were barely eating and prompt to snap any time if people was pulling a nerve, even unintentionally.
Their obsession was getting quite dangerous, to the point that they were no longer allowed to interrogate people by themselves but could still acccompany the men, this to prevent any violent reaction when they were getting too many negative answers as they were literally getting paranoid and convinced that people were lying, hiding Haruse away from them. And that feeling was still torturing them, making them feel so cold, giving them so many bad thoughts such as … ‘what if Haruse just ran away with that slave and abandoned them…?’ But they were fighting it and it was not rare to surprise them shouting out loud that he would never do such a thing before bursting in tears out of confusion…. because they did not know what to think anymore.
It was during a momentary break that they thought they had seen the girl. They were looking through the window of a book shop with a sad look on their face. There was a specific book exposed there and as they recognized the name of the author, the pain stroke once more as it was just literally stabbing right through their heart. No word could describe how much they missed him, how much they were concerned about him. Then they heart missed a beat when they thought they had seen her walking by, only catching her reflection on the window but, when they swiftly turned around, she was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was two soldiers coming back to report that they might have seen a girl looking like the described slave but since they were not sure…
«💀»“Why did you let that girl go, you idiots! Find her, now!”
The men did not waste time, intimidated by the Commander suddenly barking at them furiously. But they were not reacting fast enough, the child suggesting to accompany them this time. They won’t let her go… if the soldiers thought they had seen her then it must have been her… She had a pretty particular appearance after all. They were getting close, they could feel it,… The two soldiers brought the commander back where they had met the girl, trying to look for her again but Kuroyuri was the first to spot her. A strange gleam sparkled in their single eye as a smile appeared on their face. Now they were having that look of a predator finally finding their prey after a long hunt.
«💀»“Found you…. little slave. Get her…” They simply ordered to the men.

She flinched when Haruse yelled at her, dropping the accusation that interacting with another mister was a taboo thing on her shoulders, even though she had just intended to help. “I-I am sorry, I did not–” Her sentence never found an ending, as the tall man grabbed her harshly to put something around her neck. “M-mister Ha-haruse?” The question was directed towards his sudden actions and the change in his demeanor. Now he did not appear as the gentle soldier she had gotten to know anymore, instead a scary look rested in his blue orbs that bore into her soul.
After a strange gulping sound and quick movements from the back of the unusual collar thing, her friend brought a wounded finger to his lips to let the drops of blood vanish on his tongue. Before Amber could ask how he had gotten the cut so suddenly, an unexpected statement from him made her shut her mouth immediately. But it opened itself again in the following second, because a thunder of pain repeatedly shot through her every vein. “AH!” The scream almost suppressed his last words, yet, they still managed to burn themselves into her ears, although she was unable to comprehend them fully at the moment.
Her knees buckled under the amount of agony which was devouring all of her senses, and she eventually found herself on the ground as she twitched uncontrollably. Soon sweat had also sneaked upon her skin and mixed up with the tears on her cheeks, emphazising the pathetic state she was in. It was one big contrast, how cold her insides felt from the dread of the new situation while her blood was boiling underneath the surface from the torturous waves. However, worst of all for her was that she did not understand where she had wronged the male or what could have possibly angered him to the point that he would use such drastic measures against her. “I-I am ... d-deeply ... sorry ... ! P-ple-ease, for-forgive me.”
“W-what are you doing?”
‘’What am I doing? what were you doing talking to that man?!’‘ Haruse raised his voice while he put on a promise collar on the girl. As the collar bit him in order to enter into a contract Haruse licked off the leftover blood ‘‘This is gonna make you listen. Pain.’’ the collar registered the command and sent painful waves to Amber.
‘‘You’re mine. you hear me?!’‘

One Fatal Mistake
Continuation for *this*. | @blueskypatisserie
The day had started so innocently, so happy. In an early morning time, a young woman begun to prepare breakfast for the Black Hawks, a group of deadly yet lovable soldiers. She was not alone though, one of them accompanied her in the kitchen: Haruse. He was an incredibly kind mister and quickly made it into her heart as an important person, one she wished a bright future.
After she was done with the preparations, she placed the individual meals on a food tray and walked through the halls to bring them to the respective men. The only person to not get a visit from her was the commander Kuroyuri, who seemed to dislike her from the very start, as her blue haired friend had told her that he would bring them their breakfast. Maybe that was for the best, even though Amber hoped that one day Kuroyuri and her would get along. One day … If only that day would come sooner, she held the wish at the back of her mind.
When she was done with the task at hand, she crossed paths with Haruse again. To her surprise, he invited her to tag along to a short trip around the city to which she gladly accepted. There was no way she would have declined his offer as long as she was not ordered to do something else! “Thank you very much,” she said to him at him apparently not minding to spend some time with her, a mere slave, and moreover, be so nice with her.
As they wandered along the streets while talking about various things, the tall male came to a sudden halt in front of what seemed like a shop for books. His eyes intently stared into it through the big windows till he broke his gaze away to look at her and ask her to buy some, meanwhile he would check out the store. Of course, that was completely fine with her so she quickly nodded and took the money from him before setting off to the market he had directed her to. Fortunately, it was not hard to find it and therefore she probably would finish this task soon enough. However, that expectation was not met by all means.
Her hand reached for a package of flour at the top shelf when suddenly someone grabbed her right shoulder in a harsh manner to turn her around, getting face to face with a hooded stranger. “Help me,” said person pleaded with urgency in his voice, what the female simply could not ignore. She gently placed a hand on top of his that was holding onto her and gave him a reassuring smile, “How may I help you, Sir?”
At that, the unfamiliar man led her out of the shop as he tried to explain everything, though the explanations only confused her more. Aside from that, she was slightly worried to leave the place just like that; after all, Haruse expected her to buy the needed ingredients in his stead. “Please, Mister?” She attempted to stop the stranger for a moment, “I am afraid I need a bit of time before I can possibly assist you, I just–”
“Nu-uh.” The answer she got from him posed as a little warning before a fist reached deep into her stomach, knocking the breath out of her lungs and making her slump over the intruding arm. “You’re not going anywhere, Missy.” Her vision was blackening, but even as her consciousness was failing her, she could hear the chance in his tone, followed by a threatening chuckle.
“U-ugh …” A soft groan escaped her lips as she was slowly awakening. Disoriented and still groggy from the unwanted slumber, she was wobbly on her feet and swayed quite a bit with each step, yet moving nonetheless. Where was she? As she pushed the strands of black hair away from her face to take a closer look at her surroundings, she could tell immediately that this was no place she had been before.
Also, she worried about how much time had already passed since Haruse could be searching for her, or even worse, get in trouble for her disappearance. Which is why she decided to track down a way out of here, fast. Her body pushed itself forward, ignoring the nausea that must have creeped into her stomach after getting punched so hard. Suddenly another thought occured to her, where was that man? And more importantly, why did he do that?
A shudder crawled down her spine at the possible reasons that her mind could come up with. Perhaps he wanted to get back at Haruse because he belonged to the Black Hawks? The first time him and Amber met consisted of him fighting against a few others and her stumbling upon that scene, after all. For the mentioned motivation of killing a Black Hawk, they had attacked him! If she was the bait for the stranger that had brought her into the current situation, she hoped with all her heart that her one friend would not look for her.
She had yet to come to realize that her wish would be dismissed without mercy, as her way through the old crumbling halls in this secluded place ended in a big room full with strange instruments. And somehow they seemed familiar … Until it hit her that these were used for torture.
Both of her hands swiftly landed on her mouth, muffling the gasp that followed the shocking realization. What made it even worse was the blood which graced the different surfaces; it looked fresh with its striking scarlet color, as if the instruments were used only a short while ago. But there was no subject to be found, or not yet anyway, what left her at least a little relieved. Still, it was evident to her that she needed to proceed cautiously if she did not want to end up in an extremely uncomfortable position, specifically stay alert of any stranger.
However, that was all forgotten when she was confronted with another terrifying scene. “M-mister Haruse!” She exclaimed loudly as she ran towards the window at the end of the room, repeatedly slamming her fist against it in a desperate attempt to wake the mentioned person from his unconscious state. He was shackled against a wall and as if that was not horrible enough, a huge drill faced him threateningly. Her wish to have him gain his focus back was granted, but not only did she catch his attention, apparently someone else’s too as their voice resounded through some intercom, accompanied by a disturbing statement.
Before she could even fully comprehend what it was about, a shrill beep announced the end of the voice’s speech, triggering the next dreadful action: The drill set off towards Haruse! Her mind required one moment to progress everything, the next she stormed towards the nearest puzzle she could find and tried to solve it. The level of concentration on her part was so high; neither did her hands shake, nor was her head occupied with the dread that she had felt when she first realized the drastic change in their situation.
One discovery destroyed her collected demeanor though - A piece was missing. A piece of the puzzle was missing, a piece that was demanded to finish it and save her friend that way. Now the female could not suppress the violent tremble anymore, it controlled her whole body as she was frantically looking around for the last piece. “N-no …”
While the drill went further, closing the distance between it and the blue haired soldier, she scanned the whole room with growing frustration and fear. “No, no, no!” She could not allow herself to fail now of all times! Yet, why was it so hard to gain the last piece?!
“Please, please, I just need–” Time. She did not know who she begged to, at the person who brought them to this situation? At a god or another unearthly entity?
To whoever or whatever it was, it did not listen to her pleads because time was not playing in her favor. Her orb flickered to Haruse just in time to watch what she had been fighting against so furiously. Time flowed in slowmotion, or so it seemed to her, as the drill plunged into the man mercilessly, toring his stomach apart in bloody bits. Red liquid chased them, jumping wildly from the wound and tainting the room in an obnoxious manner. But Haruse’s screaming topped it all, they were the definition of horror at its purest.
They shot through her ears and bore right into her soul, clawing at her sanity with a gravity that she could not possibly withstand. “No, no, no, no, no, no, no.” The words of denial dripped from her lips in faint whispers while her feet stumbled to the door that was opened after the unsettling incident. Then her way continued to where her friend was, in a pool of ruby colored fluid. In addition to that, the air was filled with a sickening stench of something metallic and caused her to retch along her walk towards what was left of her dear friend.
Soon sounds of splashing cut into the silence, her feet being the source of it as they tripped through the bloody mass on the ground. It added onto the things that echoed in her head, and worsened the shivering of her every muscle. At this point she was unable to understand what words belonged to the movement of Haruse’s mouth, she just stared at him with a greatly widened eye and one streched arm at him. “P-please, Mister Haruse, we need to return to the others or they might get worried,” her voice was barely audible, still, she took a step towards him and eventually came in touch with his arm that felt somewhat sticky under her palm from the blood soaked uniform.
With a light tug, she gestured him to start moving. “M-mister Ha-haruse,” Amber continued to talk despite losing her voice with each passing second, “e-eveyone is waiting … Co-com-mander Ku-kuro–”
She paid no attention to the tears that blurred her vision while gulping and completing her sentence, “Kuroyuri i-is … waiting.” That was right, Kuroyuri was waiting for them to return. They were probably eager to seperate her from Haruse, which would not bother her since Haruse’s sole presence was what made the commander happy.
Which is why they definitely had to return. After all, she wanted them – everyone – to be happy. The grip on his arm turned stronger, just like the tugging. So how come, in spite of what would put the child in delight, Haruse simply ignored her pleading and stayed motionless … ?
All of a sudden, mad laughter seeped into the halls through some intercom and was intense enough for her to take notice of it. Even more so the message which was delivered by the mechanical voice after it calmed down from its euphoria. The hand that was not holding onto Haruse automatically checked her pockets like the unfamiliar person had suggested and froze on spot at the undeniable truth. “… What have I done?”
The question was repeated in her mind, over and over again, as her shaky fingers revealed the missing piece. It was the last one, the one she had seeked for to save her friend. No, an accusing thought welled up, had she really given her best to save the friend? More followed and steadily attacked her conscience to unhealthy extents. “It’s … my … fault …” That was the conclusion of it all, was it not? Indeed, that was the inevitable truth that her hysteric being discovered for itself, and that was what pushed her over the edge of breaking down.
Throughout the whole ordeal she had been able to hold back, but it was impossible now. Her knees gave away and crashed onto the sea of red, her hand slipped away from his arm and pressed itself against the side of her head instead, although it did not soothe the throbbing in her temples at all. “It’s my fault,” the dark haired woman sobbed uncontrollably, “everything is my fault!”
The crying ultimately turned into incoherent shrieks and yelps, combined by not only the aching from her head and heart, also by the pain that laid underneath the black bandage. “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT AGAIN!” She yelled into the open space, no longer only fixating on today’s events. Images of a past manifested in front of her inner eye, to which the agony on the spot of her right orb increased to unbearable amounts. “–NO, STOP IT, NO,” she twitched and threw herself onto the ground, rolling around while her limbs kept jerking into random directions. Howsoever, despite her anguished exclamations, the nightmare did not end for quite a while. Instead she suffered through the replays of the scene with Haruse in her mind, detail for detail she was caught in this hell till the self-punishment for her stupidity found no energy anymore. Her every cell was drained from it, leaving her to lay on the concrete floor breathlessly. And resisting the silence a tad longer was only her empty voice, “It’s my fault … But never did I wish for any of this …” Her lid closed itself with the last words, “I will … Erase it.”
A young woman staggered across the streets, earning doubtful gazes from the bystanders due to her ragged appearance. Her white shirt was stained with dirt and hung loosely from her upper body while her black trousers beared many scratches; all in all, it was evident that she gave off an unsightly image, and one that quickly caught the eye of a pair of soldiers. The men in black uniforms approached her with an immediate question, “would you know this man?”
Her single eye focused on both of them who had just stepped in her way, then at the picture that they held in front of her face. On it a blue haired male was visible, wearing the same black uniform that the other two had. However, he did not seem familiar at all, which is why she gently shook her head and gave them a polite apology. “It is said that a female accompanied him, black hair and–” The one mister stopped and exchanged glances with his patner, clearly hesitating to continue.
“Are you sure that you have nothing to do with him?” Said person inquired further, even though he seemed to be convinced that she had no connection to him as well. Again, she excused herself for not being able to help them and confirmed her earlier reply, “I am sure, for I am a mere slave and therefore would not have the chance to meet this Mister so freely.” The two could only agree with her, saying between themselves that it is pointless to search so far away from the first district anyway since ‘they’ could not get away from there unnoticed.
With that, the men left her alone to wonder about what just happened. She also felt a little sad for the missing one while hoping that everything was alright with him and the people close to him. Furthermore, she decided to keep her eye open for anyone that looked similar to help with the search, though she would respect it if the person did not want to be brought to the officials, of course. Either way, the most important part was that everyone was unharmed - And so, with nothing else left to do for them, she wished the best of luck.
“I hope you will have a bright future.”
