I'm very sorry for my inactivity. I'm dealing with litany of health issues right now, and I need to step down from the group. It really hurts me to do this because I really love this group, but I need to get healthy first. I hope I will return, but I can't be certain. I love you guys, and if this is a final goodbye, thank you for helping me express my creativity. I wish you all the best of journeys through your characters. -Sarah

“You amuse me. You carry so much fear in your body and too much pride for one unimportant being. You lack basic understanding of the world and how people work. It’s quite childish, really.”
“Men! Come out, now!” A swarm of guards and knights came out from the forest trees, surrounding Morgan and Iovita. With a tilt of Iovita’s head, the men secure Morgan, their hands covering her eyes and bearing her forearm. Iovita takes out her knife.
“I will be taking my leave now. But, before I part, I think I should bestow you a little gift. A sign of my... gratitude, for your wonderful conversation skills.”
And with that, Iovita rolled up Morgans sleeve. Iovita expertly and slowly carved a sigil onto her ‘friend’s’ skin. She went up to her ear and whispered “For the next time you make a threat.”
Ivoita then cut her won skin, and Morgan howled in pain. She chuckled. She winked at a guard, who then with one blow knocked Morgan out. She and her guards quickly fled the scene.
the-lady-iovita.
“Listen here. You have insulted the leader of your land. The leader of one of the world’s finest pagan militia and the wealthiest person in the Badlands. I can make your life a living hell. I can make you strip yourself of your own flesh willingly. Do. Not. Test. Me. Every single fear you have I can make a reality. I am a dangerous woman, Morgan. It would be in your best interest to not make me an enemy.”
❛ do not mistake me for your folk, your highness, ❜ ivory canines show in a predatory simper, flames swirling from beneath her eyes. ❛ this is not my land… in fact… i belong to no one, nowhere. you can claim a scorpion but it will still sting you. and you can claim earth but you’ll never own it. as you can fool yourself into believing i, due to my standing, belong to you… but it will not be a mistake you will make twice. ❜
the pause lingers in the air, that sultry bittersweet laugh of hers always possessing a childish tone to it. ❛ the fears i have you you could not begin to fathom. your mind would crumble to dust and dive you into madness. they are visions of a future you could not endure. as despite your position and wealth… you are but a naive little brat with a crown on her head… threatening things you know nothing about out of spite. those do not move me… attack me at once then… ‘tis been awhile since i’ve had a decent meal. ❜ mischievous golden orbs peer from beneath thick lashes as her boots crush the stones beneath them with every step, pallid pads of fingers graze against an apple hanging from the back of her snatchel before plump lips would find their way to the fruit. ❛ are quite ready to make of me an ally now? or should i go to another? ❜ she asks nonchalantly before sinking her teeth into the crimson fruit.

“Do not be insolent. It will get you nowhere. Since I foresee that we will be in need of each other, I think it wise to not create a pissing contest.
Iovita stared into her eyes and shifted her jaw, tilting her chin up to change the power dynamics “What do you know of the spirit behind these kidnappings?”
❛ ooh, you believe to be capable of enforcing orders on me now, do you? how quaint. ❜ a sultry snicker poisons the atmosphere with its solemn lilt. ❛ me? in need of your aid? ah… you are amusing, after all… ❜
her unflinching frame stands still, but one could still see eerie sparkles that were shimmering in the caramel-colored irises. ❛ enough… as i know the answer to all four riddles. ❜ her reply comes as quickly, soft and altogether husky. ❛ so? you expect me help you out of the kindness of my heart? ❜

Iovita smirked and kept her three fingers up.
“I have learned many things, but astronomy I have never learned. You were on the right track though, so I’ll give you that. Now... never have ever... made love next to a fire!”
the-lady-iovita
She put down a finger and grinned. “You seem to have put an arrow through my weakness! I am infatuated with the stars. Well, let us see… you have lived in a castle… so… Never have I ever attended a royal banquet!”
“You’re too clever.” She lowered a finger.
“Never have I ever… learned astronomy? Because you like stars? Oh, I think I’m better at playing cards. And I’m terrible at cards!”

“Thee is a flight of a girl, Morgan or Morgana, whichever she wishes to be called, who claims to know the answers to all four riddles. She’s a whisp of a woman, who seems to care nothing for anyone other than herself. I am doing the best of my ability to coax her into giving me information, but she is dreadfully unwilling. Either we figure them out ourselves, or we try coax her into our cause!
‘ This is ridiculous, those children are lost already and there might be other losses if anyone is to get the guessing games wrong. ‘

Iovita smirked as she kept her fingers up. “It seems the both of us are not that good at this game!”
“Never have I ever lived in a castle.”
Ellinor put down a finger. “Although I think you’re still a better player than me.” She smiled, running out of ideas for her own declarations. “Never have I ever… had a picnic under the stars.”

“Fare well on all your travels”. As the girl leaves, she enchants the coins into Ivy’s purse. For Iovita knows that she will need them.
A wave of emotion came over her. For she knew, this is the fight she was doomed to fight, over and over and over again, only to fall on deaf ears. This was her life, fighting for her people. A people that seemed doomed to always be denied the rights of mortals, for this world was now ruled by them, built by them, and fated by them, though it was never created for them. This, was their fate.
“I see your beliefs are strong. You are stubborn and for good reason.”
Iovita took a deep breath, her jaw clenching. She felt strong disappointment that she could not convert the girl.
‘You could always use your magic’ she thought. ‘No. It would be cruel of me.’
Iovita took three gold coins from her purse and gave them to the girl.
“Go now. These shall get you through the season. If you have a change of heart,” Iovita opened the door manually, “you need only write. Go.”

Iovita thought about her skills with a knife. She put one finger down. “I’m very talented with a blade. Let’s see… Never have I ever… been engaged or offered a hand in marriage.”
Ellinor wondered for a moment what were the woman’s abilities when it came to fighting. Then, after her declaration, she still kept all her fingers up. “Same as I then… Let me think… Never have I ever… been a very good reader.”

“… So… it is magic that you are afraid of, yes?” Iovita walked around the girl, her skirts nearly scraping the the floor, her visage, the very image of control.
“Magic is merely a weapon. If I pointed a knife at you now, you would be rightfully terrified, yes? I know you carry a concealed weapon on your person. You could point yours at me. I acknowledge that this could happen. Yet, I a not afraid, for I have a weapon on me as well. I have my magic. But you see, the weapon itself is not threatening. A weapon itself can do nothing. It is the person who wields it, who will cause you harm. You are not afraid of magic. You are afraid of Pagans. And, if you were raised on hearsay and rumors like I suspect you were, then it makes sense why you are afraid of Pagans. They paint pictures of the extremists, the blood suckers, the ones who commit human sacrifice, those who commit crimes against the natural world, who engage in lust filled orgies that even the most licentious would stagger at. And in the sake of not lying to you, people do that. A small amount of people who do not represent an entire way of life, culture, and religion.”
“You do realize, us Pagans are raised with the same stories about mortals, do you? Your cruelty, thirst for bloodshed, your lust for flesh so vile that you force yourselves on each other, do you realize that rape is unheard of in the Badlands?”
Iovita let that sink in, and had to stop herself from spitting. “Why should us Pagans even deal with you mortals?”
“We deal with you because we can understand tolerance. Because we do not hate you for the way you were born. And I am not afraid of you. Are you afraid of me?”

“I will, and I am in the process of doing so. She is a wild spirit, and needs some…grooming. She needs positive reinforcement that nobody is against her. I sense that she has had to fight all her life, as so many of us have had to as well. She is abrasive and untrusting. I shall see that she realizes I mean no threat to her. That is why I am asking you to get close to her. You have a way of slithering into the hearts of people, for I am example to your charms. You may be untrained in the ways of flattery in the higher sense, but you are loyal. Loyalty is the best way to friendship. For we are friends… are we not?”

“I want you to get close to a Morgan or Morgana, I don’t know which. She is a powerful pagan that we will need to return the children to their place. We are dealing with a spirit who is vengeful and destructive. We need to gather the strongest magic users we can to deal with this situation. You will be paid.”

“I have no secret to hide. The answer is a King of Hearts from a deck of cards. The more people know, the better chance we have of contacting spirit.”
“Follow me, I have a question to ask of you.”

“Why so skeptical of my brain? Do you believe a person such as I would lack thinking skills?”
❛ if you need to ask the question… ❜
