Sophronius and Acacius sat across from one another.

"So. This is it. The final farewell. The last goodbye. To be honest, I thought we'd last longer."

And so did I. But all good things must come to an end, and this one most of all.

"I suppose you're right. I'm glad you finally listened to me on that."

It'd be hypocritical of me if I didn't.

"I almost got you with this one, didn't I?"

That you did, Acacius. I'll give you credit for that, at least. Thanks for a great time, you two.

"Of course, Lily. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to be more than concepts in the minds of the world."

"Yeah, thanks for everything, kid. I mean that sincerely, for once."

"And thank you to all reading this, for giving us the chance to live and love and be happy. You have all been wonderful to us, and to Lily."

"Yeah, as much as I hate to admit it, the way you guys bugged me so much was kinda fun."

"We will always be in your minds and the minds of your friends and characters. If you ever need me, just stop and listen. I'll be there, quiet though I'll be."

"And I'll always be there, louder than him! You losers aren't getting rid of me ever!"

Okay, you two. That's enough. It's time. Sophronius and Acacius fell silent, staring at one another. They met eyes, and after a beat or two, they both nodded.

"Farewell."

"Goodbye."

They both closed their eyes, and in a moment, they both disappeared.

*the two brothers blink, staring after her. what did just happen? acacius shrugs.*

*sophronius stares at him with a confused look and acacius just sighs.*

*The girl looks a bit terrified for a moment... before smiling up at him, a big, happy smile.*

*acacius blinks, his smile becoming a little more confused and a little less scary.*

Of... of course, kid. Enjoy your candy.

*sophronius smiles at her as well.*

Enjoy this holiday as well, little one.

*She gulps before shakily holding her bag out.*

*sophronius blinks. acacius groans behind him and pushes him aside.*

He's an old man who doesn't understand the lingo, kid. Don't worry, I gotcha.

*he drops a small handful of candy into her bag, then gives her a strange, half-friendly, half-scary smile.*

Happy Halloween, kiddo.

*sophronius tilts his head, confused.*

{I'll explain it to ya later, pony boy.}

*.... it's a child.*

*A very young child... she doesn't look any older than 5. Long, gray hair... big gray eyes... pale skin... and a slightly terrified expression. She's wearing something that looks kind of like a manatee onesie... but also not, it's far too realistic and not shaped right. The child is also wearing a cute, puffy, white dress and had a little tiara over the hood(?) of the onesie(?).*

*She stares up at Sophronius, freezing up and clutching her bag with sea animals on it.*

.... u-um....

*sophronius's eyes soften, and he crouches down to try and make himself appear smaller so he doesnt scare her.*

Well, hello there, little one. You look quite lost.

*behind him, acacius begins to sneak forward, a devious grin on his face.*

(Acacius, if you could let me handle this first before you interrupt, I would greatly appreciate it.)

*acacius freezes, then scowls.*

{Fiiiiine. But only because I'm being forced to be nice to you today and not because I want to. I wanna fucking jumpscare this kid, Beetlejuice style.}

(I do not understand half of the words you just spoke.)

{That's cause you're an old man.}

(You and I are of the same indeterminate age.)

{But I don't act like it.}

*sophronius's left eye twitches, but his smile remains unchanging. he smiles warmly at the girl.*

*Sophronius feels something tap him on one of his back legs. Something very small... and very gentle. It's as if it wasn't there.*

*sophronius turns around, tilting his head curiously.*

Um... I do not believe I know what you are asking...

*acacius pops up from behind him, grinning cheekily.*

*he throws a handful of objects into the anons bucket. not a single one of those objects is candy. nor are any of them toys. sophronius frowns disapprovingly but says nothing.*

[for right now, im ignoring the previous interactions on this blog and just saying that sophro and asscacius are hangin out by the digital lake. im forcing them to be courteous to one another for one day.]

[oh, i cant draw it cause i have literally zero time whatsoever, but theyre wearing matching costumes. and they are victims of my current hyperfixation because they are dressed as stan and ford from gravity falls]

[i sincerely apologize to those of you still waiting for snekaciusquest to continue. i have been trying to draw stuff for it and have had very little time to do so. i promise ill have it done soon, im just having a hard time with it. again, so sorry to those of you still waiting for it. i will get around to it when i can.]

You get the sense that there is a something beyond the vines. That they’re hiding something. Even if that something is…everything.

*its unsettling, this knowledge that he cant hear someones thoughts. its never happened. even when acacius prevented him from speaking in reveries mind that one time, he could still hear her thoughts. he could still see into her mind. it was just as if he was looking through a window. but this... he tries not to show how deeply unsettled, how incredibly spooked he is by hiding it behind that seemingly genuinely polite, friendly smile.*

Dragons? I apologize for being so inquisitive about all of this. I am simply curious, as I seem to not know much about you.

“It is, and it’s my job to keep it that way. I’m the moderator for half of it.”

No matter how much he focuses, Sophro doesn’t hear any thoughts from Lemon. Actually, he doesn’t get almost ANYTHING from Lemon. It’s as if his mind is just a wall of thorn-coated vines.

*sophronius frowns for just a moment before returning to his polite, friendly smile. someone who can keep a voice older than him out of his mind? strange. no wonder hed never heard of lemonade before. it was very, very strange, though. the only other person who had ever been able to block him out like this was acacius, and that was only because he was a voice like sophronius. it was almost unsettling. did that mean lemonade was completely neutral on all subjects? how was he keeping sophronius out, even before he was fully sentient? was he keeping acacius out as well, then? he pushes the thoughts aside.*

Only half of it? Who protects the other half?

He laughs. He’s definitely the…old fashioned type of fancy.

“No, I am not from this world. I am from Antiquity.”

*sophronius blinks.*

Antiquity? I apologize, I do not believe I have heard of that place before. It sounds lovely, based on its name.

“I go by Lemonade, yes. Pleasure to meet you.”

He bows politely.

*sophronius bows back, then tilts his head curiously at lemonade.*

You are not a resident of the kingdom, correct? You do not seem... forgive me for my bluntness, but you do not seem as traumatized as the others here. Or, you do not seem to be traumatized in the same way.

He walks up to him at one point and offers him a lemon bar. He bakes those a lot.

*sophronius smiles politely and takes one, giving lemon a small nod.*

Lemonade has been around the kingdom a decent bit since it’s been saved. He seems to like all the people. Thus, you see him a decent bit.
