hello would you care for some niche exalted memes

Hope I’m not chiming in too much, I did note in the chats that there were somebody looking for exalted discord. But while I’m here I might as well say a word on the 3E plan. Currently there’s solars and dragonblooded as fully completed books. Lunars were recently kickstarted (successfully) backers have been gotten their fangs in the gate to bite down on for a bit. A highly anticipated splat. 

For the future we have Exigents and a storyteller’s guide which I eagerly anticipate. Followed by Sidereals with Getimians getting a softcover I think? Then abyssals. (I assume the heat death of the universe will occur around here). Infernals and then Alchemicals. This being a bit of a rough idea of what the current devs have in mind.

You actually play Exalted?! I tried for years to get friends to play with me and never got anyone interested. I'm so envious. I hope you have nothing but fun, and the occasional world shattering heartbreak when something terrible/wonderful happens to a beloved character. (Alchemical Exalted are my favorite.)

Yes, I play 2E while we wait for all the official source books of 3E to come out for the other types of Exalted.

If you’d like to join a group online, I’m sure there are some lovely people out there!  I can’t recommend a group since I’ve never been brave enough to join one by myself (plus time constraints), but I’m aware of Exalted discord servers for this purpose.

D&D Bird Alignments

Lawful good- Hummingbirds. Just look at them and tell me they aren’t blessed paladins of all things good. You can’t.

Neutral good- Finches and sparrows. Peepers. Harmless.

Chaotic good- Parrots? Some are nice birbs but the screetches and the bites..

Lawful neutral- Red winged blackbirds. Insect eater, pretty songs but will heck you up if you get too close to their babies.

True neutral- Pigeons. Bob ya head and coo.

Chaotic neutral- POOTOO

Lawful evil- Shrikes. Birds gotta eat.

Neutral evil- Starlings. Fuck you for killing baby birds.

Chaotic evil- GEESE.

Here’s an awesome little piece of history:

Archaeologists in the Burnt City have discovered what appears to be an ancient prosthetic eye. What makes this discovery exceptionally awesome is the striking description of how the owner and her false eye would have appeared while she was still alive and blinking:

[The eye] has a hemispherical form and a diameter of just over 2.5 cm (1 inch). It consists of very light material, probably bitumen paste. The surface of the artificial eye is covered with a thin layer of gold, engraved with a central circle (representing the iris) and gold lines patterned like sun rays. The female remains found with the artificial eye was 1.82 m tall (6 feet), much taller than ordinary women of her time. On both sides of the eye are drilled tiny holes, through which a golden thread could hold the eyeball in place. Since microscopic research has shown that the eye socket showed clear imprints of the golden thread, the eyeball must have been worn during her lifetime. The woman’s skeleton has been dated to between 2900 and 2800 BCE. 

So she was an extraordinarily tall woman walking around wearing an engraved golden eye patterned with rays like a tiny sun. What an awesome sight that must have been.

If things start forgetting about you then I believe that would be cause for some concern. But on the other hand you’d have an exciting opportunity to learn how to punch people into ducks.

Sidereal Exalted Dream

I was laying in a field staring at the sky. Predawn light had obscured all but the brightest stars. Staring at the distant celestial bodies, I beheld each was surrounded by a milky cloud of tiny point of light. Realization dawned that each “star” was in fact a distant galaxy.

Perspective shifts, patterns emerge. The galaxy stars are constellations. Lines grow, outlining the shapes in the sky. Once each picture is drawn in its abstracted outline, colors and details overlay them until the sky is full of mythical heroes, monsters and gods.

Then I woke up and wondered if I had just experienced Sidereal Exaltation in my sleep. @shiftingpath @the-exalted-few @unconqueredcats @myrastuff
