Seer Afflictions
For dragon kind there is four systems: physical, mental, spiritual, and magical. Seer sight or second sight uses the spiritual system, though it may be enhanced or diminished by the capacities of the three other systems. Thus, just like with physical and mental abilities, spiritual and magical abilities can be disrupted or damaged. This impairment can temporary or permanent, deadly or benign, and contagious or isolated. The most common cause for these ailments is internal in origin like genetic predispositions or spiritual turmoil; however, one should not overlook external factors such as disease, curses, parasites, and battle damage.
This list provides a short catalogue of some of the more well-known seer conditions. The term “sight” in this catalogue shall refer to second sight (aka the sight used by seers to observe the timeline) and not physical sight. If you think your dragon may have one of these afflictions or the impairment is not resolving swiftly, please take them to a reputable spiritual healer in your area.

Introducing the Sorneith Culinary Society!
What's all this then?
The aim of this project is to make use of every single food item in flight rising, minus the first anniversary cakes and the micro-holiday foods, to create regional cookbooks and culinary traditions for each flight. Phew, that's a long sentence. A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes, but I think I'm ready to throw open the doors to the general public of the FR community! :D
More information is below the cut, but if this isn't your thing, it's back to your regularly scheduled scrolling.
Where is the project right now?
Well, I'm currently slogging my way through all 1,000+ food items; I'm compiling canon icons and descriptions into a database for easy access and future referencing. This includes where you get each item, whether you get them by gathering or in the coliseum. Additionally, I'm adding flavour and texture notes, alongside any miscellaneous notes worth mentioning. This miscellaneous column tends to include culture notes or notes or what kind of dishes the ingredient is commonly used in.
As a general note, as far as this cookbook is concerned, the food restrictions placed on the dragons is merely a preference. This prevents us from having to try and make pastry dough with only bugs. :/ This also allows us to go absolutely bonkers with creativity. The sky is the limit.
What does the future look like?
Once all the food items have their notes finished, I'll actually get to start writing recipes. Eventually, each elemental region will be getting their own regional cookbook - a beastclan cookbook is certainly a possibility, but it is much lower on the list of priorities. As it stands, fire will be getting their cookbook first, as voted on by the folks of the Ashes to Ashfall server.
Before any of that happens, the ingredient database must be finished.
What does this have to do with me?
In the meantime, I'm looking for any and all dish ideas. This includes a wide array of food types, which is covered on the submission forum in the reblog, because tumblr hates l!nks. While I'd like to focus on fire based dishes right now, all submissions are welcome! I'd love to hear about what ideas you've got.
Anything else?
This is a multi-person effort here, and I've has been heavily assisted by the wonderful folks on @hungrytundras 's lore server, Ashes to Ashfall. I would get nowhere without you people, and I really appreciate it. Any further updates for this will be tagged #sorneith culinary society, if you'd like to be kept up to date, or block it. Whatever floats your boat!
Thank you for your time in reading this; reblogs are greatly appreciated!

Commission for Frillshark of their dragon Isabel, loved working on this during the colder months back in January, it reminded me that there are warm pleasant days ahead.
[ID: An illustration of a guardian dragon from the game Flight Rising. She relaxes on the warm sands of a beach during a hazy day, with calm waves gently lapping up around her. Sunlight gently casts itself on her white and gold scales and they shimmer much like the intricate jewelry that entwines around her legs and tail. Adorning her light feathered wings are a garland of delicate orange flowers and golden silks that hang loosely in the breeze. Most noticeably are her eyes, from which a wave of seawater spirals around her horned head, perhaps implying that she has an elemental connection to her environment. End ID]

Bogart: Ruler of the Belows, Mated to Yaremka...
Him and Yaremka make very ugly babies, so they are more a marriage of the mind and of common goals than anything else. Nothing better than being with the hatchlings after a long day murdering in the Coliseum.
Bogart has also had a Marriage of Convenience with Helcaraxe when she brought her radical group in. She intended to mate with him as an alliance to eventually supplant him as Ruler of the Belows and thus get a clawhold in taking over Earth for Ice, but it didn’t work out.
BloodMoney, also known as CuTar Ebonhide, is true ruler (economically, at least) of the Belows. Brought in to ostensibly help the Belows with his clan’s hoard in return for political holding, CuTar and his family capitalized on Bogart’s loathing for what the scarred old grey considers “drossy” -- meetings, politics, investments -- and now are moving in to take the last dregs of leadership from him.
BloodPrice, or Tighlia Ebonhide, is as powerful and as canny as her mate, although she rarely speaks publicly and always hides her face behind her silken mask. This has led to her being perceived as the power behind the throne, but the fact is that the Ebonhide clan has always, and will always, present a united front.
Poor Trito. A Pearlcatcher employed by a powerful Imperial family, his body has been altered to suit their purposes, from removing his eyes to grant him the ability to view stock futures to removing his pearl and replacing it with a copper orb. Finally, to cement an alliance with Helcaraxe’s division, he was forced into a mating with Helcaraxe’s second in command, A Practical Storm.
A Practical Storm, for all her bluntness, does love Trito and their daughter, and hopes to one day bring Trito entirely away from the Ebonhides.
I’m getting married today so I ask yall cool peeps, show me your married/couple dragons! Includes poly dergs too!
I’mma be chillin for who knows how long so I’d love something to read while I sit my ass in a courthouse lol

Pt. 2
Earth: Loose and layered, decorated with colorful precious gems, metals, and bone. Stone tablets inscribed with protective runes and/or fun Earthshaker facts. In makeshift situations, they make for decent bludgeoning weapons. The shemagh smells like herbs, sand, and sun. Different colored sashes indicate which part of Dragonhome they’re from, taking on the color of the regions’ representative gemstones.
Lightning: Cool dood mcswaggerton. Lots of metal in this outfit and it’s expected to get zapped while wearing it - caution when giving handshakes. May be fitted with a toolbelt or other useful bits and bobs. Material is heavy duty though some dragons opt for glossier, thinner fabric. Dragons hailing from cities connected to the Tempest Spire may include neon lighting in their suits and more high tech fittings.
Water: Pirate time yaharrr. Wraps keep the garments secured and many dragons keep beads and other jewelry entwined within for good luck and fortune. Scales made from deep sea leviathans make for decorative armor and fluffy plumes are very hoity toity. Scarves must be tattered to show seafaring expertise and it’s very embarrassing to wear one brand new. Hats are large to accommodate horns or other head bits but mostly to hide pet birds and gold.
Nature: Become moss. Made of living plant matter from around the Labyrinth, this outfit must be watered and whispered sweet nothings regularly. The wooden mask emanates a low droning buzzing when worn by non-Nature dragons but otherwise speaks cryptic messages from the Benemoth itself. The hanging ivy is often chosen for its variety of colors during the seasons but also makes for a nice snack during ambassador meetings.

SUBJECT: EMP-002
Purportedly a fragment of larger mass separated via magical means, or else the result of some other experiment in Imperial transformation. Received by the Silverwing College on ##/##/## from a dragon-centaur clan near the Mirrorlight Promenade, who confiscated research materials and documentation from the only surviving member of the rogue science team responsible for this abomination. The scientist apparently escaped and fled before the arrival of a Silverwing representative.
Written records suggest this fragment was extracted from main body on ##/##/##, and that a second near-complete fragment extracted from the same body died within hours. Plague heritage suggests this one is innately more resistant and adaptable, which may explain how it has remained alive so far.
A diagram of the original beast found in the confiscated material suggests it had up to nine functional limbs and four heads, three of which were correctly positioned at the front of the body with one other sprouting from the mangled collarbones of the combined dragons. Scars and lesions along this fragment’s body suggest it represented the head on the right side of the mass. The separation process appears to have healed a number of these wounds but left others open, though measures have been made to treat them while it was in stasis upon arrival.
Clumsy patterns of movement suggest the subject has not yet registered the loss of its excess limbs, though it has all four expected of a regular Imperial. It barely notices most who approach but seems to “bicker” with non-existent figures around its own head and shoulders, perhaps still looking for the other three heads visible in the diagram. Any evidence of the personality this individual had before their death and transformation is yet to be observed.
There is evidence of both internal and external malformation, and wound patterns which suggest the original body- prior to aggregation with the mass- died in combat. Attempts to trace a possible clan of origin for any of these fragments have been futile. Subject is currently being overseen by Senior Warlock Sebas, who is attempting to put it back into stasis before it becomes a threat. Subject will be stored in the Underkeep heart, the near-inaccessible chambers which have been partially flooded to bar access for most individuals and allow the Senior Warlock to study his charge.
