Do you accept random asks? If so, I have a question for the Batter: do you think you are a good person?

"I am a just person."

His words drift off, growing quiet to gradually trail into silence. Everything he had done was something that needed to be. There was no other option. Yet the harsher ones were wearing his form down- he had been here for so long that it was bound to eventually of course.

It weighed on much more than his body, this far in.

There was nothing for him to do about it though. He was only fulfilling his purpose as the savior, the purifier- The Batter. This stretch of silence was cut short as he tacked on his final thoughts.

"Justice isn't always as black and white as good or bad. It simply is what should be done."

Drat.

The chance he had to whisk the can into his possession was just as easily taken from him as that toothy grin was placed atop the container. It would be much harder to simply grab it now... though maybe actions weren't needed to lay claim to the prize hidden behind the plastic. If one was skilled enough with their words, they could earn themselves a more favorable outcome without needing to lift a single finger (or paw, in Valerie's case). It would be well worth it even if all the spoils wouldn't be going to himself.

"There's none that says it doesn't, Pablo!" it was hard to keep his tone from verging on a whine, yet he crouched to completely close the gap between his head and the floor. One ear flicked in irritation before Valerie leveled his breathing and set his plan into motion.

"Though, I could share such a treat with you. We can split it- I wouldn't want my dear brother to starve after all..."

The petulant mewl came from a short distance away. Valerie padded closer in hopes he may be able to steal away the food while his brother was distracted. Truthfully, he was unsure if that one even belonged to him, but knew for certain he wanted it. His tail twitched as he slowly lowered himself to sit before Pablo.

“It was opened for me.” he insisted, eyes fixated on the can, “I’m sure of it.”

Oooo, good question. Most likely Hugo or Valerie ^^ though I'm just mildly obsessed with Bad Batter as well haha!

The small purifier is hunched over himself as he over analyzes the Add-Ons before himself. They were battered and wounded- that much was clear without having to stare them down. Though he was doing his best to remedy the situation with the glowing pink vials in his hand. The wings were doused in it and as soon as the liquid dripped off the feathers, whatever wounds had been there were now gone.

Relief rushed across his inky expression and prompted a heavy sigh. One of the wings shook off the remaining liquid seemingly out of agitation which caught the boy's attention as he was putting the bottle away. He ran a hand along the wing in an attempt to soothe it and originally opened his mouth to offer some comfort... only for a sound to pull his focus away.

"-woah! What are you doing here?"

Coming up to meet the director with a report was intimidating enough. But arriving with a poor report? Now that was terrifying. It had not even been the one to type it! It was forced into it’s hands before it was sent on it’s way to Enoch’s office. It’s flimsy legs quivered, not from the humming of the factory, but from the distinct sound of their guardian’s voice beckoning it inside.

The voice booming out of his throat was already composing, but nothing could compare to Enoch’s god-like stature. It’s mouth went dry the moment it was face to face with the director and for a long moment, all it could do was stare.

Why did it have to read it aloud? It wasn’t even it’s doing!

What fate would it meet after delivering the bad news? It had heard rumors- faint whispers of gossip deep within the sweltering heat of the rooms housing the furnaces -of what Enoch did to workers who did not serve him well. Not a single one it recalled was something it would wish upon even the most irritating co-worker. The best chance out of all of them was simply banishment- getting fired and thrown out to whatever lay between each zone. Even that was certain to lead to a gorey demise though. It had heard it was dark there. It had heard there were monsters lurking in it.

What it did not hear, however, was Enoch’s demands. Not until the last few words of his command reached it’s ears and it jolted into an upright position with a quiet gasp.

“Si... sorry, sir, yes, the report is- well production has been down lately... there’s- ssince more and more have been- erm. Since... we have less employees, we haven’t been making as much... sugar.” it’s words were practically squeaked, the glare from Enoch only adding onto the pressure. The worker lifted it’s head to meet his gaze and the blazing glare it was met with made it’s skin prickle.

Yet the wide frown on the guardian’s lips was a subtle warning of what may happen should it not continue. Fearing it’s demise becoming a prolonged crawl towards death rather than a swift punishment, it took a shakey breath and continued on...
