It had been hard for everyone but you. And you acted as if the group's problems had only been your own. As if you were the only victim. How many others were there on this Titanic? Did you even see them?

Or were we already ghosts to you?

I looked back and five years had gone.

I looked forward.

My plans were the same. The resources didn’t agree.

I chose to leave, and it hurt. It hurt so so badly. But now the dull ache is tearing at me and I question myself again. I had been so sure, hadn’t I? ...I don’t want to know how bad it would feel if I hadn’t chosen this.

I’m not sure how much stronger I am.

I’m going to tell you something important. The most important secret I’ve ever learned. Right now, the present, is always “before”. Before heartbreak or happiness, before tragedy or celebration.

Why does “everybody know”?

 Does that mean everyone also believes and accepts? Should everyone blindly accept “common knowledge” / “everybody knows” statements without question?

Is there no room for debate or inquiry on topics that people seem to accept as common knowledge - no room for imagination or inventiveness or scientific theory?

It’s difficult to tell dogs from wolves these days.

The accuser himself stood behind the highest walls.

Whispers if repeated become as roars.

Simply put, the truth is hard to find but lies are handed out freely.

The liars all gathered round to make a show of disagreeing but shook hands behind stage.

Kept my secrets to myself; my heart too, by default.
