I've really been feeling lately like I don't want to consume influencer content. Like I'm just really not at all interested in what these people are doing with their lives, or what is going on in their daily lives. I want to focus more on my own life and making my life the best it can be on a daily basis.
I also want to read more books, spend more time on my hobbies rather than just constantly scrolling.
I also want to learn to be bored again. And not constantly pick up my phone for entertainment.

I feel like I'm having the most fun I've ever had in my life in this current time period. I get to spend my time how I want. I don't worry about finances. I get to focus on myself. It's truly a stark difference to working basically 24/7.
I went from working multiple jobs, working through college, taking a year or two off in between semesters, struggling with stressful office jobs, to now working one job that I'm good at and sometimes even enjoy, that pays well and will continue to pay well. Having my own home and not stressing about finding a cheaper apartment that accepts dogs, and even then worrying about my dogs separation anxiety angering neighbors and possibly getting me kicked out of an apartment.
Having time to really acknowledge myself as a person and think about what I like, who I am, what I want. Discover what hobbies I enjoy, I don't think I've ever had a hobby up until the last couple years. Because it was always go go go. Gotta go to work, gotta go to school, gotta go to work after school, gotta go to school after work. All variations I lived through. And finishing was so worth it because it really got me where I am today. Able to relax and use my time how I want.
And to many people this is boring. But I think what I always needed was stability. And I finally have that. I can create moments of excitement and happiness. Though I prefer to be at home reading, playing games, spending time with my dog and boyfriend. But if we ever need a change we absolutely can create excitement and I love that. Instead of just living in constant chaos. Constant worry.
This is luxury to me.

all the self help books and internet gurus in the world can't make you realise that unfortunately the way to get what you want isn't some hack or neat trick, but is just doing the work. and it's hard, but it's really the only thing that is going to fulfill you. you need to get up when your alarm goes off and go outside, make sure you move your body and eat enough, give yourself the time and space to actually think, and not spend your whole day on a screen.
