no one but you.
skye riley x fem!reader
friends to lovers, mutual pining, slight?? angst??; skye has a long day of work and the only thing that can help is you :3
warnings: skye's hair pulling is the only thing i think but if there's anything else that might need a warning, lmk!
a/n: heyyy finally posting smth and like i've said before...i wouldn't call myself a writer i'm just a girl who imagines scenarios in her head and needs to write them out sometimes SO if it's quite cheesy and cliche, shhh i know this is just for fun!!! this is in bullet format just because it's an easier way for me to separate my thoughts so sorry if it's hard to read...
also, just like fun fact and im rambling but the main idea i had for this was watching the piano scene and thinking...okay but what if she plays a song for you for the first time...and boom. and the title is taken from no one noticed by the marias :] anyways, if you read this far, i’m kinda proud of this so i hope you enjoy and ty for reading <3
• skye has a rougher than usual day of work leaving her distressed and completely exhausted :(
• she collapses on her bed, her mind racing from the events today but the thoughts all lead back to you. for skye, being around or thinking of you is one of the few things that can help her relax.
• of course, she’d never admit that to anybody because she thinks she sounds crazy but it’s true!
• she runs her hands over her face and sighs before pulling out her phone. clicking your conversation, her thumb hovers over the text box.
• as her eyes move across the screen, she rereads your message from this morning – "good luck in the studio today girl 💗 oh here are the pics from the other night btw 😙" – she smiles softly at the emojis, thinking about the casual dinner you guys had with some friends.
• she swipes through the pictures, mostly silly and cute posing with your food and kissy faces…she can't help but zoom in on the two of you, remembering how pretty she thought you looked with your hair loose and makeup slightly smudged and -
• OKAY so maybe she’s incredibly down bad and that’s why just the thought of you is so calming for her!
• BUT she doesn’t want to bother youuuu. while you’re not living the same hectic lifestyle she is, you could still be busy, you know. you have your own life and things to do and take care of. she glances at the time noticing it’s later than she thought. you could already be sleeping…
• she can feel her hand rising, fingers reaching for That Spot in her hair as she begins to overthink even messaging you at all.
• *DING* she shifts her eyes back to her phone, locking onto the blue text bubble – “skyeee you haven’t said anything all dayyyy like not even the usual picture of your lunch i was visually starving girl”
• she lets out a deep breath, palm falling flat on her head. oh, thank god you texted something first..wait that means you were thinking about her…and so late at night too…which could mean nothing…
• she thinks for a second before replying – “sorry it was just super busy today..had to spend extra time in the booth im exhaustedd” sent.
• she places her acrylic nail between her teeth, biting out some nervous energy.. should i just ask? oh, fuck it i’ll just ask.
• “actually um could you possibly come over to my place? i could really use someone to talk to rn… i can send a car or whatever you know but if it’s too late you don’t have to that’s totally fine” sent.
• she continues chewing her nail as she watches the three dots pop up indicating you’re typing. – “oh skye :( don’t worry about it! ofc it’s not too late. you know i’ll come over any time. i’ll be there soon <3”
• <3. <3!!!!
• okay, she’s normal about you. she’s fine...just smiling too hard at her phone before replying with her own “<33”
• while she waits for the driver to bring you to her place, she takes a hot shower, letting the heat relax her body and ease her mind for as long as she needs. after getting into comfier clothes, she heads to the kitchen to grab a water. a sigh escapes her as she places her hands on the counter. the nerves course through her body once more as she thinks about you on your way over. she takes a breath before unscrewing the water and gulping down half the liquid. the bottle makes a loud *thunk* as she sets it down on the counter. she still can’t believe she’s gotten used to doing that.
• she reaches to replace the cap when she hears a knock on her door. you’re here. the exhaustion in her body replaces itself with…excitement? anxiety? she doesn’t know. she’s just happy that you’re here.
• screwing the cap back on as fast as she can, she takes quick footsteps over to the door, sliding a little as her sock covered feet don’t leave the ground. catching herself on the wall, she steadies herself, fixing the hair that fell in her face. god, she’s mess.
• she reaches for the knob while tip toeing up to take a peek through the peep hole. she couldn’t help but crack a smile at your hello kitty pjs before opening the door.
• you wear an empathetic smile as you hold up your bag, “i brought candy.”
• skyes let’s out a breath of relief, smiling back and relaxing her shoulders, “you. are amazing. get in here.” she grabs your arm, pulls you in and locks the door back up while you let out a small laugh.
• “i know, i know." you reply removing your coat and shoes. “so,” you start to speak as skye follows slowly behind, smile still lingering on her lips. you jog over to the couch plopping yourself into the seat, “you get first pick as always.” you hold the bag open, shaking the sides as you usher her over to take a seat next to you.
• skye tilts her head, jokingly rolling her eyes as she hovers her hamd over the bag. “i’ll take…oo these! thank you very much.” she pulls out a blue bag and sits herself to the right to you. you knew that blue bag all too well.
• “not the gummy wormsss! you know those are my favorite!” “we can share! we always share.” "right, right..."
• the conversation continues while you empty the rest of bag on the table. you take turns sharing candies, telling skye a story about the cutest cat you saw outside the shop and how you almost brought him with you.
• there was a moment of silence before you spoke up “did you want to talk about today?”
• skye glances down at her fingers staying quiet for a moment “uh…yeah, no, i mean...it’s just…” she takes air in through her nose and runs a hand through her hair, breathing out.
• you watched her facial expression change. there was nothing more you wanted than to just hold her in your arms and caress and kiss her troubles away. you never knew how far you could go without it feeling weird. what if she didn’t reciprocate?
• you always settled for holding her hand. it kept her from teasing with her hair and suppressed the urge to pull at the blonde locks and instead play with your fingers.
• “we were um…working on recording this new song. i’d played it for them a little while ago and they really liked it.” she glances at your face, your full attention on her, arm resting on the back of the couch with your chin sitting in the palm of your hand. god, you were so pretty…
• you smile softly, “of course they did. you make great music, duh.” she returns the smile at your compliment. her eyes begin to dart around the room, the stress making it’s way back into her head. you rub your thumb over the back of her hand that was still sitting in yours.
• “while we- while we were recording, it was fine but um…there’s this one part in the song i wanted to be sung a certain way but..they didn’t agree. told me to sing it the way they wanted. 'cause it ‘sounded better’. ‘tracks would’ve been faster to mix’. or some shit. i tried to argue it but…it just started something bigger and my mom was there. god, my mother…she’s no help. just wants me to follow along like usual…”
• you felt a tug at your heart as skye spoke. “oh, skye…i know how passionate you are about your music. it's awful when there’s assholes like that who just wanna make something quick and easy. it’s hard for people like you who actually care about the quality of their work. i don’t see where you did anything wrong."
• skye wipes away a couple of tears. “hey,” you reach for her other hand, interlocking both your fingers, “i know for a fact that the way you wanted your song, mind you, your song...that you wrote …i know it sounded beautiful, okay? and perfect while we’re at it.”
• skye chuckles, speaking softly “please, how could you say that if you haven’t even heard it?”
• “show me.” your volume matches hers but your words catch her attention, eyes shifting to your face. silence. “if you’re up for it, you know.”
• skyes heart races as she feels a mixture of anxiety and vulnerability. it’s not like she hasn’t sung in front of you before but right now it feels much more intimate.
• she hesitates for a moment “okay…yeah.” you smile in excitement. you were basically her number 1 fan. and she would do anything for you. this is a win-win situation.
• skye stands up to go to the piano, a rush of butterflies in her stomach as you follow behind. she adjusts the bench a little before sitting down and you stand to the side of the large instrument, elbow making contact with the top as your chin rests in your palm again.
• skye fiddles with her journal trying to find the correct page. she nervously flips onto the page titled ‘just my name’ and looks over at you before placing her fingers on the keys.
• ‘i’ve got thick skin but i’m hollow…made up of broken parts...’ from the the first line you’re mesmerized (as usual) by her voice. you listen on, paying attention to the lyrics and how relaxed skye begins to look after focusing on the melody, ‘is this how my story’s told? i get higher 'til my worlds on fire and i'm ice cold…’ seeing the raw emotion in her facial expressions as she closes her eyes, almost like she’s reliving her memories. you can tell how much this song and the lyrics really mean to skye and her experience. oh, your sweet skye…
• the final notes echo through the room. skye removes her hands from the piano, waiting for you to say something, ANYTHING…
• but your response doesn’t come. you instead take a few steps over and wrap your arms around her shoulders. her head finds its place in your neck and her arms take place under yours as you sit down beside her. you sit together like this for a moment before speaking. “that was beautiful, skye. just like i said it would be.” you whisper, your thumb caressing the back of her head, her breath felt on your neck.
• “mmm you’re just being nice 'cause you’re my friend.” she deflects. “skye, c'mon.” you pull away leaving your hands on her shoulders and look her in her eyes, “i wouldn’t lie to you. especially, especially, about your music. i know how much it means to you.”
• skye can’t help the blush that creeps up on her cheeks becoming hyperaware of the close proximity between you two. theres a flutter in your stomach at the slight nudge of her hand against your thigh.
• she clears her throat before speaking “thank you, y/n. for everything, really. i'm so so so grateful to have you in my life. i don’t know what i’d do without you.”
• okay, you actually need to kiss skye so bad. her eyes glossy from the tears, the beauty mark by her lips that were soft and pouted. if the look she was giving you wasn’t enough alone, everything she just confessed solidified the feelings you couldn’t deny any longer.
• skye’s breath gets caught in her throat as she feels your hand softly take place on her cheek. the heat of the moment seems to last forever as you both stare into each other's eyes, your faces just inches apart. the unspoken feelings have been building up for so long neither of you can fathom the situation that’s unfolding. your heart is beating so loudly that you can hear it in your ears as you both sit there, hoping hers was doing just the same.
• your eyes flicker across her soft features taking one last look at her lips before returning to her eyes. “would it be like kinda crazy if we just, you know…kissed right now? i mean like if you wanted to. because i definitely want to and it would be nice but if-“
• skye lets out a puff of laughter and you’re left with a slightly amused yet confused look on your face. “god, y/n, i thought i was bad at this.” your hand falls back to her shoulder, “um what exactly is that supposed to mean?” “nothing, nothing...”
• you smirk at the casual banter, “okay, okay…so…” “oh, come here.” skyes confidence boosts as she takes your face in her hands and your lips finally touch. your eyes flutter closed and skye can feel the smirk still resting on your lips as you respond to the kiss.
• it starts out soft and slow, the gentle press of your lips against each other. but as the initial kiss sparks something between the two of you, it quickly deepens. your mouths moving hungrily against each other, the taste of the fruity candy lingering on your tongues, skyes hands running through your hair as your hands have found themselves just above her chest, toying with her necklace.
• as you two lose yourself in the moment, falling into each other, you lean a little too far, elbow landing on the piano keys. the loud, earsplitting chord jolts you back to reality, breaking the kiss. your breathing is heavy and faces are flushed with surprise and the realization of what just happened. you both can’t help but burst into giggles, the tension from before fades into a light hearted moment.
• as the giggles subside, you look at skye, “maybe.. we should take this somewhere else or something…” skye sucks her teeth, a few butterflies lingering at the bottom of her stomach, “oh is that so?”
• you roll your eyes before standing up. taking skyes hands, you pull her up with you. “well...yes. don’t ask stupid questions.” skye chuckles as she’s dragged along, her heart racing with anticipation and excitement to finally be able to kiss you the way she’s always wanted.

𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐄 [𝐓𝐖𝐎] — 𝐒𝐊𝐘𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐘
one / masterlist / wattpad
summary: as Skye's paranoia gets even worse, you're left to help her through it.
warning/s: same as last time tbh.
authors note: here’s the second and final part! hope you enjoy it :)
Skye and I didn't argue often, so I was pondering ours the whole night, trying to figure out how I could have acted differently. I just wanted her to be okay and to feel safe. And yes, maybe I didn't believe her, but only because she truly was overworked and it only made sense that she was sleep-deprived and imagining things.
But the last thing I wanted was for us to grow distant because of all of it.
The next morning, I sent her a text message asking how she was, but she didn't reply. I only worried I'd made things even worse, so in the afternoon, I grabbed my things and went to the dance studio where I knew she was rehearsing. I was hoping that giving her the morning to have some space might make our chat a little easier, but I couldn't be sure.
Thankfully, I'd timed it perfectly as I found her on her break, refilling her water bottle at one of the dispensers.
"Skye, hey," I said, stopping behind her.
She glanced up before her expression hardened a little. "Hi."
I frowned, glancing around and seeing we were alone, before saying, "I texted you, but you didn't reply... I've been worried."
"Well, I'm fine," she said with a sigh, looking back to the water dispenser and capping her bottle.
"Skye, I'm really sorry," I apologised, trying to meet her gaze. "I didn't mean to discredit your feelings yesterday."
She winced. "Forget it. I don't wanna talk about it. I just wanna focus on rehearsals."
"Skye–"
"Please," she said softly, frowning to herself. "I just– maybe you were right. Maybe I'm seeing things."
I wasn't expecting that, raising my brows slightly. "What makes you say that?"
She shook her head, running a hand through her hair. "I don't know. Everything is a lot. I don't know."
She didn't seem sure and my heart ached for her.
"I just wanna focus on rehearsals," she said decisively, before meeting my gaze with sad eyes. "We're okay."
I had a million things I wanted to say, along the lines of her taking care of herself and us figuring this out together, but she looked tired and the last thing I wanted was to stress her out further. So, all I could do was nod.
"I'll hang around," I said slowly, in a way that gave her an opening to tell me otherwise, but she didn't. "I might grab a coffee later. Do you want anything for when you're done with rehearsals?"
She shook her head, chewing on her lip.
"Alright, well–"
"No, wait," she changed her mind, making me quirk a brow. "Can you get me an iced hot chocolate?"
I tried not to smile. "That's a thing?"
With a disapproving look, she answered, "I'm trying to cut down on my caffeine intake. But I want something cold."
"Suit yourself," I conceded. "One iced hot chocolate coming up."
She relaxed slightly, taking my hand and squeezing it. "Thanks."
I offered her a small smile and she stepped forward, leaning her head on my shoulder in a half hug, before letting go and returning to rehearsals.
For the next hour or so, I worked in one of the empty studios, sorting through some social content for the next six months, before heading out to get mine and Skye's drinks, knowing I'd be back by the time she was done.
Holding a cup holder with two drinks in it, I found Skye's dressing room and struggled to open the door with my hands full.
"It's me," I called to her as I attempted to grab the handle without spilling the drinks. When I finally got it open, I continued, "You know, I'm pretty sure an iced hot chocolate is just a chocolate milkshake, but–"
My eyes widened as I looked up, seeing a strange man standing in Skye's dressing room, pinning her against the wall with his hand pressed to her mouth to stop her from making a noise. He immediately looked to me with surprise, a deer caught in headlights, and he was wearing no shirt, revealing his giant tattoo of Skye's face on his chest.
Skye's squeals for help beneath the man's hand pulled me from me my reverie, her eyes wide and full of tears as they pleaded for help. Before the man could make a move, I yelled for security at the top of my lungs, knowing someone would be around to hear it, and instinctively threw both iced drinks at him.
He shouted at the impact, letting go of Skye and giving me the chance to move forward and grab her hand, pulling her away from him and out the door. Acting on pure fear and concern for Skye, I slammed the door shut and held it closed until Skye's security team ran to us to help.
"There's a crazy guy in there!" I shouted at them, letting go of the door, and they seemed to get the hint as they let themselves in to deal with the man.
I spun around to find Skye and felt my heart racing as I saw her sat on the floor against the wall, knees tucked to her chest and head hidden between them. Ignoring the commotion as other members of Skye's team arrived on the scene, I knelt before her and placed my hands on her shoulders, leaning my head close to hers so she could hear me.
"Skye, are you hurt?" I asked, trying to hide how horrified I was.
She didn't reply, but I could feel and hear her breathing become ragged as she tried to catch her breath. Realising she was shocked, I leaned my head against hers and rubbed her arms gently.
"It's okay, darling, they're sorting it, just breathe," I said as steadily as I could. "Come on, just like this."
I took her hand, unwrapping it from her knees, and placed it to my chest which made her look up. My heart broke as I saw the panic in her watery gaze, but I focused on making sure she was okay right now. My hand rested on her chest and I took some breaths slowly to show her.
"You feel that? Just breathe," I encouraged gently, eyes focused on hers as we breathed in sync.
It seemed to work as I felt her breathing regulate, though I could still feel her heart beating like crazy.
"It's okay," I repeated, hand moving to her knee.
Suddenly, the door to her dressing room burst open as two of her security team dragged out the stalker. The man was shouting as they did, eyes searching the hall until they settled on Skye like a predator with its prey.
"Tell them to stop, Skye!" he yelled at her, struggling against the security team, but he was nothing compared to their strength. "Tell them I'm your friend! You said we were friends! Tell them!"
I blocked his view of her as I moved over slightly, trying to calm Skye's breathing as it became unsteady yet again.
"Ignore him, just look at me," I said calmly, blocking her view too and forcing her to meet my gaze. "It's just me and you, Skye. Nobody else."
She was trembling and the stalker was still shouting at her, begging for her attention, only making her panic more. I covered her ears and she closed her eyes, trying to block him out.
"Get him out of here!" I yelled at the security team behind me, growing impatient as Skye only seemed to get worse, shutting in on herself.
Finally, the stalker was dragged out of the hall and away from us, and Skye's mother showed up just in time. She must have pieced everything together as she exchanged worried glances with me before shouting orders to everyone who was simply standing and watching like it was a TV show.
Meanwhile, I returned my attention to Skye, resting my forehead to hers and uncovering her ears but still holding the sides of her face, thumb stroking her skin soothingly.
"It's okay," I repeated quietly, so only she could hear, and she swallowed thickly as she nodded, taking in my words.
Deep down though, I knew it wasn't okay. And the guilt was eating me alive because I didn't believe her and I was wrong, and now look what had happened?
—
Shortly after that whole commotion happened and Skye could finally breathe again, she insisted on showering, wanting to scrub herself clean of rehearsals and the stalker's touch on her.
So, I found myself sat on the sinks in the communal bathroom as she showered in one of the cubicles. I couldn't blame her for not wanting to return to her dressing room, at least not so soon, nor could I blame her for not wanting to be left alone.
The sound of the water splashing against the tiles was the only thing to be heard, but it did nothing to drown out the guilt that was spreading in my chest. I couldn't stop imagining the worst, thinking about what more could have happened if I hadn't arrived to Skye in time. She'd tried to tell me that she didn't feel safe and I hadn't believed her. Why didn't I believe her?
Her mum was currently berating her security team, trying to understand how this stalker got past them and how nobody had caught him. I already knew she was probably debating firing the whole team and replacing them with someone better.
The sound of the shower being turned off made me stop overthinking, instead straightening up as I looked at the cubicle Skye was in.
"Can you pass me my towel?" her voice came from the other side, soft and timid, and my guilt only deepened.
"Yeah," I said quickly, grabbing her towel from beside me and going to the door, passing it her over the top.
She accepted it and I moved back to give her some space, watching her step out a moment later. Everything about her looked so small, the colour still drained from her face, eyes still holding a shock that wouldn't go away. I didn't even know what to say to make her feel better, because how could I say anything that would help her forget about the fact she was assaulted twice by the same crazy fan and nobody did anything to prevent it?
"I got you some fresh clothes," I said instead, aware it wasn't perfect.
I motioned to the pile of clothes next to the sink.
"Thanks," she muttered, eyes not meeting mine as she moved towards them.
Giving her some privacy but knowing she'd made it clear she didn't want to be left alone, I turned around and stared at the all whilst she got dressed.
After I no longer heard the shuffling of her movements, I turned around and saw her sat on the edge of the sink, legs hanging over the side. She was looking down at her lap, preoccupied. I joined her, leaning against the sinks beside her and looking over at her.
"He's gone?" she asked quietly.
I nodded, assuring her, "He is. The police have arrested him. Your mum is sorting everything out with security. You're safe."
At this, her tense shoulders relaxed slightly and she nodded. I swallowed thickly, eyes running over her side profile guiltily.
"Skye, I'm so fucking sorry for not believing you," I finally said what I'd been thinking this whole time. "I should have."
Other than the slight frown on her lips, she didn't react to my apology, and I didn't expect her to. What could she say?
"Are you hurt?" I asked worriedly, resting a hand on the small of her back. "Did he... did he hurt you?"
She shook her head slowly, putting me at ease slightly, though I couldn't imagine how terrifying the whole experience still must've been for her.
"I want to go home," she said, just above a whisper. Her eyes finally met mine, tired and frightened.
I leaned into her side slightly. "Alright. I'll go and arrange a car for you."
"Please, come with me," she added, the implication of her fear of being alone present yet again.
I nodded, wrapping my arm around her fully and pulling her into my side. "Of course."
The thought of not being able to watch over her was awful, so even if she hadn't asked, I would've offered anyway. After everything, I needed her to be safe.
—
It was heavily insinuated that I would be staying at Skye's place for the unforeseeable, and I didn't mind one bit.
Despite the few words she spoke, it was clear she wasn't okay. Over the next few days, we stayed exclusively at home, with her taking a short break from tour-related things. She was jumpy, constantly, afraid of her own shadow even though she wouldn't admit it. And if I dared bring it up, she'd assure me she was fine.
I had to swallow down my guilt and worry for her, despite noticing how she wouldn't go into any room in her apartment without me there with her. I couldn't blame her, the fear of her crazed stalker still in the back of her mind.
Though this behaviour made sense and I was glad she was taking some time for herself, her mother wasn't in the same boat. Elizabeth would call her, at first to check in but then to hint when she would be back at the studio for rehearsals. At that point, Skye ignored her calls and so Elizabeth deemed it necessary to bother me instead, to which I may have ignored some of her calls and cut other answered calls shorter.
It was easy to stick up for Skye and tell Elizabeth that it wasn't appropriate for her to return to work just yet, but of course all Elizabeth cared for was the tour. This, on top of the fact that my own manager was getting on my back about my workload and mithering me about if there was even going to be a tour at this point, was a lot. But I tried to keep it all away from Skye as long as I could.
Eventually, of course, Elizabeth had had enough and decided to stop by the apartment unannounced. Skye was sat at her piano, playing some chords and writing some things in her songbook, and I was reading my book on the couch when there was knock on the door. Skye tensed up momentarily, not expecting company and still on edge, so I quickly got up and rested a hand on her shoulder.
"It's alright, I'll check who it is," I assured her, squeezing her shoulder comfortingly.
She nodded, relaxing slightly, her own hand touching mine briefly before I went to answer the door. That was when I came face to face with Elizabeth, to my surprise.
"Elizabeth," I breathed out, eyebrows raised. "What are you–?"
"Where is she?" she cut me off, impatient.
Knowing she was definitely about to make everything worse, I gave her a knowing look. "Now isn't the best time–"
"It never is," she noted with a hint of irritation, before pushing past me to let herself in. "Skye?"
I blinked, not expecting that, and closed the door behind her before rejoining her as she looked down at Skye at the piano.
"So you do remember you're a musician," her mum commented with narrowed eyes. "Nice to know."
Skye looked up at her, expression unreadable. "Hi, mum."
"You've been ignoring my calls," Elizabeth told her.
Skye shrugged slightly, looking down to the piano keys. "I didn't feel like talking," she answered truthfully.
I sighed and went to take a seat at the kitchen island, watching the conversation from there.
Elizabeth quirked a brow, unimpressed, before speaking. "Your tour starts in a week."
Skye tensed her jaw slightly. "I know."
"And?" Elizabeth prompted impatiently, waving a hand.
Shrinking in on herself a little, Skye didn't answer, so I chimed in, trying not to sound so defensive.
"Elizabeth, she's been through a lot," I reminded her as calmly as I could muster. "Give her a break."
Momentarily, her mum's expression softened. "I know that. And it was horrible, but the world hasn't just stopped."
"That's not fair," I said with a twitching frown, trying not to start an argument.
"It's fine," Skye said to me softly, before her mother could reply with an insult, no doubt. After releasing a breath, she looked up to her mum. "I'll be back for rehearsals tomorrow."
Losing my irritation, I stood up and looked to her. "Skye."
Ignoring me, her mum nodded with satisfaction. "Good. I knew you'd do the right thing."
A scoff flew from my lips as I watched her kiss the top of Skye's head.
"Rest up," she told Skye. "You'll need it."
Skye nodded, expression vacant.
I clenched my jaw slightly, eyes falling back to Elizabeth. "That it?"
Her mum resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she met mine. "Yes. Is that okay with you? I wasn't aware she had a second mother."
I narrowed my eyes, but chose not to let her antagonise me further, especially not in front of Skye. Instead, I went to the front door and held it open for her, hoping she'd get the hint. She did, but I followed after her, closing but not clicking the door behind me.
"This isn't fair," I whispered aggressively to her. "She's not okay, Elizabeth. She hasn't been okay all week."
"The world can't stop because of this," Elizabeth whispered back, just as harshly and definitively. "Everything is set. Tickets have been sold. She has to be okay."
I was certain I was at boiling point as she spoke about the damn tour yet again, completely dismissing her daughter's wellbeing.
"She can't even go into her bedroom alone and you want to throw her back into work!" I whisper-shouted, voice rising.
"I am her manager for a reason, Y/N," Elizabeth snapped back. "She needs this, especially after this past year."
"You're also her mother," I reminded her bitterly.
She met my sneer with her own. "And you're just the girlfriend, so stick to that, yes?"
I bit my tongue, refraining from saying something I'd regret, mostly for Skye's sake. Instead, I settled for a different approach. "Don't you think that after everything, we should probably listen to Skye this time? We were both wrong about the stalker. We ignored her, blamed it on stress, and look what happened?"
Her mum frowned, looking away. "It was unfortunate."
My expression faded into one of regret as I held her stare. "It was more than that."
Shrugging it off, Elizabeth replied, "Skye said she's fine."
"She's saying that because she has to. You haven't seen her this past week."
"I know my daughter. And my daughter knows the business. She can't afford more time off," she said decisively. "End of discussion."
She was so easily dismissive that it frustrated me to no ends, but she'd always been like this and it was one of the reasons we'd never gotten along. And as I watched her walk away, I silently fumed, taking a deep breath and making sure I was alright before returning to the apartment. As soon as I stepped inside, I jumped when Skye was stood there.
Forcing a small smile, I said, "Hey. Sorry, your mum was just sharing your schedule."
Skye frowned, eyes reading mine. "I heard, like, quiet shouting." I pressed my lips together, attempting to think of an explanation, but she continued, "I appreciate you sticking up for me, Y/N, but it's okay. I had to return to everything at some point."
I shook my head, concerned. "Not if you're not ready."
She rolled her eyes. "I'm not a child."
"I know," I said gently, "but you are human. And anybody who went through what you did wouldn't be ready so soon."
"Well, I am," she reassured me, before going to sit on the couch.
I sighed before following after her, sitting next to her. I thought she'd push me away, but she looked right at me with a knowing expression.
"I know things aren't good for you with your boss," she said knowingly. "Everyone's on your back, aren't they?"
I cursed inwardly, assuming I'd done a better job at hiding my work calls from her. "It's not your concern, Skye."
"It is," she disagreed, tilting her head. "Because they're worried I'm gonna delay the tour. And you can't do your job when you're here babysitting me."
"Hey," I said disapprovingly, holding her hand. "It's not babysitting. I want to be here for you."
She sighed softly, brown eyes dimmed. "Because I'm scared to be alone."
I furrowed my brows, eyes fluttering over her face. "So what? I'll follow you everywhere if it means you'll feel safe, Skye. There's nothing wrong with that."
She didn't seem to agree, judging from the slight curve of her frown and the reluctance to meet my eyes.
"I don't care about any of that," I said, leaning into her, fingers intertwining with hers. "I care about you."
Her thumb stroked mine distractedly, before she looked up to me. "You feel guilty because you didn't believe me."
I was ready to retort whatever she said, but this stopped me in my tracks. Annoyingly enough, she'd got it spot on. Of course I still felt guilty. It was my fault.
"I do," I agreed, finally speaking after a moment's hesitation. "But that's not the only reason I'm here right now. A part of it, yes, but the other part is I love you and I want to help you."
She pursed her lips, searching my expression, before taking both my hands and holding them. "I'm returning back to work tomorrow, Y/N. And so are you. Things have to go back to normal."
"It's not fair–"
"It's the job," she cut me off, before exhaling tiredly, squeezing my hands in hers. "It'll be okay."
I frowned, very much disagreeing, but she offered me a small smile before laying her head on my chest, and so I had no choice but to respect her decision.
—
Last-minute prep for the tour kept everyone busy, including Skye and I, and mentions of what happened didn't come up. Despite Elizabeth thinking everything was fine and dandy again, I still kept as close an eye on Skye as I could, knowing she wasn't a hundred percent.
Even though Skye gave me her word that she was doing a lot better, the fact that she rarely left my side when she could was indicator enough. And once her tour officially begun, it was a similar routine of getting ready, sound check, performing and then back to the hotel or tour bus to do it all over again.
As she always did, she threw herself right back into it, and though I wanted her to get the rest she deserved, it was nice to see her a little more at ease when she interacted with her real fans, the ones that reminded her why she was doing the tour in the first place.
About a week into her tour, after a show, we were both back at the hotel. I was sat on the couch, doing some work bits on my phone, as Skye was sat on the bed in her robe, having just had a shower to freshen up.
"Hey, Y/N," she called softly, "can I talk to you?"
I looked up from my phone, seeing her move to sit at the edge of her bed and watching me hopefully.
"Sure," I spoke, moving to sit beside her as she patted the spot with her hand. "What's up?"
She exhaled contently, hands wrapping in on themselves on her lap. "I had an idea."
I watched her curiously. "Okay..."
"Even though I'm on the road, I want to talk to someone," she continued. "About... everything."
I nodded encouragingly, surprised she was bringing the incident up on her own accord.
"I can't keep putting it all on you," she said, eyes meeting mine, "and you can't always help." As I opened my mouth to say something, she quickly added, "And that's okay, it is. But..."
"You want professional help," I finished for her, to which she nodded slowly.
"I found a therapist," she explained. "She's remote and she can work around my tour schedule. And she can help me get over this hump, stop me from feeling so paranoid, you know?"
I nodded, beginning to smile. "That sounds great, Skye. I think it could really help."
She mirrored my smile. "I think so too. I want you to stop worrying and know that I can get help. I will."
"I'll try," I admitted, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her close. "It'll certainly be easier for me knowing you're talking to someone about it all. I'm proud of you, Skye."
She leaned into me, relaxing, and I kissed the top of her head, feeling my concern ease into relief at the thought of her getting the help she needed.
"There's something else," she said after a moment, wrapped up in each other.
"Yeah?"
Her hesitation is what made me look down, noticing the nervous look on her face. Catching my confused glance, she pulled away and straightened up, clearing her throat.
"So," she started, eyes flickering from mine to her lap. "You basically come over to my place all the time anyway, so this seems silly. But I like having you there and I thought, well... do you want to move in with me? Like, permanently?"
I raised my brows, surprised, and then my heart grew warm in my chest as I noticed the nervousness in her expression.
A smile tugged at my lips as I rested my hand on her fumbling ones. "I'd actually love that, Skye."
She finally looked up. "Really?"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Really."
Her lips curved into a smile. "Good. Most of your stuff is there anyway, but when the tour ends, maybe we can move the rest of it in."
The thought of moving in permanently made my smile widen. "Sounds good. I'm surprised you're not sick of me yet."
She laughed wholeheartedly, the room lighting up in an instant. "I could never be sick of you."
I rolled my eyes playfully and she lifted her hand to caress my cheek, pulling me close.
"I love you," she said softly, with a tender smile and twinkling eyes, before kissing me.
As I kissed her back, I knew things would get better. We were already halfway there.

can you hold me together?
click!!!
pairing…skye riley x gn!reader
in which…skye had picked paul hudson over you, and now has to deal with the aftermath once she’s recovered and sober.
before you read…no demon au. angst with comfort. ur basically gemma. kinda short lmk how we feel about skye fics skye riley nation
“hey.” “hi.”
skye and you study each other, as if seeing each other for the first time again. it feels brand new, scary and exciting. she appears significantly less angry than the last time you were together. her eye bags weren’t as deepened or dark, tan skin insanely smooth, glowing, and beautiful. she is so beautiful.
even like this, at midnight, dressed in sweats. she could be wearing a garbage bag and still appear to be the stunning star that she is; something you had honestly told her.
she also looks very fucking stunned.
skye hadn’t expected you to come here, to be standing outside her door, in her presence. yeah, she had messaged you, asking you to, but she never thought that you would actually oblige.
you hadn’t been over in a very long time, the woman attempting to check in on you every so often, hoping that the day would come when your name would be in her notifications.
that day never came.
she couldn’t blame you, she had led your…friendship, down this road. the harsh and pointless arguments, the shutting you out when all you wanted was to be in her life, just to be replaced by someone else, someone she pretended to love.
sometimes you thought that was her punishment for you. you weren’t sure what for, but it had felt like it. seeing her and him dazzling on red carpets, all so fake.
maybe that’s why she made it a goal to ignore you, you saw through her. through everything that she tried to keep buried, you knew her too much. you had loved her too much, and at the time, skye had thought of it as suffocation.
caring too much for her when she was inevitably going to fuck up. she already carried the weight of the world on her shoulders from everyone else in her life, she did not want that with the person she had loved most.
so she made sure that wouldn’t happen. she got rid of you.
and like a stray animal in a storm, you’re at her door, both of you with weak smiles as if the last conversation held between you didn’t end with you two sobbing.
“do you want to…?” she asks the dumb question nervously, stepping aside to let you in.
you thank her, welcoming yourself into her calmly lit place, a sense of dread in your stomach despite the endless fond memories you had experienced here.
sitting beside her as she plays her piano, watching her delicate fingers drift over the keys, occasionally meeting her brown eyes. you always found peace when she was only singing to you, it seemed more personal. especially with the love songs that she kept for your ears and your ears only.
holding her on the cool tile of her kitchen floor, allowing her to cry in the safety of your arms from whatever was troubling her that day. you’d last in that position for hours, body going numb but you never complained. you welcomed it, if anything.
on top of her on her bed, listening to the sweet sighs leave her lips like the melody of her songs. sometimes skye needed you as close to her as possible, tasting you and relishing in it. it leaves a bad taste in your mouth now, worried those precious moments will never be replicated.
not with skye, and not with anyone that attempts to fill the skye-shaped void in your life.
“so…how are you?” skye speaks, gently shutting the door behind her. she doesn’t approach you, still eyeing you like an object that randomly spawned in her home.
you’re still studying her living space, but when you do turn to her, she takes notice of the cardboard box in your hands, resting against your stomach. blocking her from engulfing you tightly.
“good…yeah…fine. and you?”
“me too…i mean i’m also good.”
awkward. this is awkward, and both of you should have been prepared for this. skye did envision how this would go, the right things to say, but now all those planned words have died on her tongue. she gulps.
“i, uh…i wanted to apologize…for like…everything.”
“skye–” “the way i treated you after…after he showed up…i regret it. a lot,” she laughs nervously, one hand playing in her hair while the other is shoved in her pocket, “and you’re like, all i think about, so it’s been really fucking hard, you know? wondering where you are…if you’re okay…if you found someone new.” someone that wasn’t her, she thinks.
”and i just,” skye continues, approaching you, “i miss you…i have since…”
she lets her words linger, unable to say the hard part to your face. since she decided to leave you behind. when you stand before her, with the face she absolutely adores, it feels like hell to imagine she had made the same face cry. the same kind eyes pour like a rainstorm.
“i’m…i’m so sorry. i know that means probably nothing but i mean it...” skye honestly tells you, immediately anxious for whatever words were to leave your lips.
worried you wouldn't feel the weight of her words and how much she truly meant the things she had said. that the damage had been done, and she had lost the person that mattered to her most. for good, this time. a year of physical separation and endless stalking of social media already felt like torture to her.
for you, it’s almost overwhelming. you almost didn’t come here, you needed a motivation other than to simply see her. you wouldn’t know where that would lead you, showing up completely vulnerable. that’s what the box in your hands is for, why you’re here. why her words hurt you just as much as they heal you.
you feel the bubble in your throat begins to grow.
“i brought some stuff you never picked up from my place,” you say almost robotically, trying to not show any of the emotion pouring over you. you ignored her completely, skye’s brows furrowing in a blend of confusion and disappointment.
“w-what? i–” she stutters, fingers pinching the bridge of her nose. “are you not going to acknowledge anything i just said?”
you take a step toward her, her arms suddenly occupied when you shove the box into them.
“it’s mostly clothes—”
“stop,” skye interrupts, eyes widening when you’re already walking away from her. towards the door. you hear a thud, the box now on her floor. then you feel her hand on your wrist, a tight grip to hold you in place.
“i d-don’t want my clothes, i want…” skye stops herself, pleading eyes doing all the talking for her. her heart is pounding, afraid all of her words were for nothing, that you’re done with her. for good. the worst possible scenario, that almost makes her want to breakdown and cry.
“i don’t know what you want me to say, skye.”
“fucking anything,” she laughs humorously, the uncomfortable hold she had on you loosening, but not completely. “y-you can even say you hate me— just anything.”
“i don’t…hate you.”
“you don’t?” she sounds…almost shocked. and that really hurts. you would never want skye to even think that was ever a possibility, and you wonder how long that idea has been in her head. “i figured after everything…”
after everything i still love you, is what you want to say. you don’t allow yourself to, not ready to put your heart on a platter and serve it to her, so instead you do the second best thing. you hug her. tightly, like someone is trying to take her away from you; a nightmare.
she embraces you just the same, if not tighter if that is possible without suffocating you.
“i’ve…missed you too,” you admit, “seeing your face everywhere doesn’t help.”
she groans as if she can relate, which in a way she can. she also sees your face everywhere, just not on the covers on magazines and billboards. in her head, before she sleeps, and when she wakes up.
“sorry about that.”
“don’t be…i’m proud of you. like, really proud of you skye,” you tell her, something you should’ve already said. “watching you get better…seeing you happy….that’s all i wanted.”
her heart flutters your name in morse code, your simple yet reassuring words feeling like the sun was beaming on her; as warm as your body is pressed against hers.
you hesitate, “you…are happy, right?”
“yes— yeah,” skye answers near immediately, “have almost everything i want.”
almost. the embrace comes to an end, her soft brown eyes meeting yours. you open your mouth, then shut it, because you don’t know what to say to her insinuation. you didn’t come here for this. you didn’t. and yet the barrier you placed between your heart and hers is crumbling.
“skye…” “i just want you back…in my life…that’s it…” she tells you, not wanting you to feel pressured romantically and scare you away. simply to have you within her grasp, to feel your love once more, is all she longed for. that is something that you have in common, so you nod.
“…okay.”
“okay?”
“okay, skye.”
she wears a bright smile, one of relief, of hope. hoping to mend your relationship, to make you feel comfortable enough again to have a genuine relationship. a pure one, not tainted by the person she used during the dark days of her past. to fix everything she had let go wrong.
a second chance. with the person she loves the most.

- skye’s love language is physical touch by a landslide. she’s kinda bad with words and tends to trip herself up.
~ skye knits. she mostly does it when she’s stressed and trying really hard to cope. she never meant to get so into it but she realised that it really relaxed her.
- gemma time!!! since gemma didn’t have a full name in the movie i headcanon that it’s gemma lannister . i might give her a middle name at some point if i feel like it :P

skye riley headcanons!
pairing: skye riley x reader
genre: fluff & comfort
warnings: slight issues with food, trichotillomania
wc: 663
a/n: there is a SEVERE. lack of skye riley content on here.. i am here to save the day /hj i enjoyed writing this and it brought me a lot of comfort to my very messy mind... if anyone wants me to write more pls send a request that would be lovely
she has eczema, so her diet is very limited. mostly consisting of fresh and whole foods like fruits and veggies to make sure it doesn't flare up.
but she loves to cook all kinds of things for you, even if she is too lazy to cook for herself sometimes. it's like a give-and-take kind of thing.
you want pancakes for breakfast? she's up early prepping ingredients to cook for you. by the time you wake up, you get a waft of your favorite fresh pancakes made by yours truly. topped with strawberries, bananas (both her favorite), and whatever other toppings she knows you love.
skye will skip meals for two reasons: one, she's too lazy or tired to make a meal for herself. and two, her mind beats her up and makes her think she needs to lose more weight. (which she doesn't, poor baby. so you make sure to check on her and her eating habits)
since she's basically a rabbit, her food is easy to meal prep.
you prep her food like you're a mother sending her toddler off to preschool. you place her salads in cute lunchboxes with little containers holding different dressings for her to enjoy with a motivational note.
whenever she unpacks her food and sees the little piece of paper with your handwriting saying: take care of yourself! <3 or i love you :) , a part of her heals.
oh, and you obviously can't forget her carrot and celery sticks with hummus. she'd rather stay home than forget to bring those to rehearsal.
no matter how dominant she may act, she's still the little spoon in bed.
nothing comforts her more than your warmth on her back, your leg over her hip, your arm around her waist, and your breath on her neck.
she LOVES it.
she holds the hand that is wrapped around her waist and caresses it so it stays there
she keeps a pillow in front of her to hug so she's completely sandwiched on the bed
you feel she thinks it makes her feel safe, and you find it so adorable
speaking of sleeping, she'll also knock out within 5 minutes of you scratching her head.
it happened before on the set of one of her music videos. she was on her break and laid her head down on your lap. you didn't notice how her eyes started to flutter shut when you kept on running your fingers through her hair.
when you finished your conversation with one of the staff, you looked down and realized she had dozed off with her phone still in her hands.
elizabeth came over to look for her and realized the person lying on your lap was her daughter and the exact person she was looking for
"y/n! god, have you seen- oh, i've never seen her sleep so soundly ever since she was a kid... i'll be back."
you know about her really bad trichotillomania where she'll start to unconsciously twirl and pull her hair
so whenever you see her reach for her scalp, you're giving her a scolding look that says, "i dare you to even touch your hair skylar rose riley."
her hands immediately shoot back down to her sides and she looks like a dog that has just been scolded
she thanks you for it, though, since it only reminds her of her lowest points in life
so, you decide to get her a fidget toy instead.
"skye, have you ever heard of slime?"
"what?"
after a long conversation addressing her tic, she ultimately agrees to settle on a needoh nice cube
at first, she found it a bit embarrassing to bring it around. but then after a while, she couldn't bear to leave without it. it's a safe way for her to relieve her stress, and plus it reminds her of you.
you took a polaroid of her smiling, getting her makeup done, with the cube in her hands. you keep it in your wallet. ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

Must Be Something In The Water - Smile 2 Alternate Ending/Continuation
Chapter 2
Everything felt… foggy.
Like floating in an endless abyss of nothingness.
Everything felt overwhelming. Like the nothingness that surrounded her was beginning to consume her from the inside out. She could feel herself wasting away, becoming one with the universe all over again.
And you know what? That was okay, she found.
Nothing was better than everything. She had gone through so much in her final days, and she was quite frankly looking forward to finally escaping the pain and suffering.
And then…. Out of the nothingness came….
…something.
A pinprick of light at the edge of her vision, as if the darkness was only a sheet of paper, and had been stabbed by a sewing needle.
She reached for that light, letting it grow and swallow her.
For a moment, (or maybe it had been a while???) All she could feel was the feeling of cool air blowing against her skin, and the sounds of machines beeping all around her.
She slowly, and groggily regained consciousness, trying and failing to remember anything and everything that had taken place. Where she was. How she’d managed to get here.
The room had gone silent, she noticed first. That was odd. That monotonous beeping had been nice.
She felt her eyes flutter open, still blurry with sleep, and …. For some reason, her right eye was dark. As if something was blocking her vision.
She slowly lifted her fingertips towards her face, her arm trembling with the insane amount of effort it took to raise her arm at all. Her hand found soft cotton surrounding that half of her face. Had something happened to her eye???
She found, to her own dismay, she couldn’t recall. She couldn’t remember a lot, actually. What had happened. Who she was.
That one frightened her a little bit.
She couldn’t even recall her own name. She couldn’t recall… anyone’s name. She could remember vague faces and voices, but…. None of them had a name attached to their face.
She looked around, trying to make her eyes regain focus. The room was mostly dark, all aside from the light filtering in through the window nearby.
Once again, she realized that the room was dead silent, and horribly still. Was she in the hospital?? It almost seemed to be too quiet to be a hospital at all.
She opened her mouth and sucked in a breath, feeling her heart beginning to race as more and more questions without answers bubbled up.
She attempted to speak, and found that her throat was incredibly dry, her voice coming out cracked and inaudible. She hoarsely coughed, and tried clearing her throat.
“H-hello??” She croaked, hearing her own voice leaving her mouth and sounding so unlike her. She looked around the room again, and saw absolutely no movement. Heard no movement whatsoever. “Hello??? Someone help…” she whispered into the dark calm of the room, and was once again met with silence.
All at once, she realized that she was incredibly thirsty. She felt as though she hadn’t drank anything for days.
Her eyes darted to her bedside table, finding several vases of slightly wilted flowers and multiple cards, boxes, clothes… just a whole lot of nothing helpful. She found herself wincing, a pain beginning to flare up in her face and lower back.
Oh jeez. She couldn’t remember much from before, but she could definitely remember that back pain.
“…Doctor?” She called out, her rasping voice still barely breaching a whisper. “Nurse?… Anyone??” She breathed slowly, not understanding how she could be waking up like this and not have doctors and nurses surrounding her like vultures.
Why was that though??
She glanced over to the upper panel of her bed, and noticed the buttons to adjust her bed, as well as a big red button labeled “CALL”. She raised a shaking hand up and pressed the button, expecting a beep, a crackle of static from the speaker, anything. She was only met with silence. How odd. She pressed the button a few more times, listening closely to see if it was working. Silence was the only sound that greeted her.
She rolled her eyes in annoyance, feeling a little flare of frustration rise up inside her. Those damn call buttons were literally there to save lives, and it just so happens that she got the one that didn’t work. Fantastic.
Her eyes were drawn back to the vase of flowers, more importantly, the water that the flowers were sitting in.
Her stomach churned at the sight of the water, and suddenly it didn’t seem to be such a big deal that she was in pain or that the doctors weren’t immediately at her bedside, because all she cared about was the fact that she needed water. Asap.
She reached her trembling arm out towards the vase, and found that lifting just the weight of her arm felt like an impossible task. She strained, trying to scoot over just enough that she could bat at the vase with her fingertips. She was finally able to get a slight grip on the vase and she dragged it closer, her hands reaching up towards the flowers she didn’t give a shit about, and tossing them to the floor.
She reached her other arm out, and carefully took the vase into her hands. Her arms shook with the effort it took to keep the vase held up, and after what felt like eternity, she was able to set the vase into her lap.
She felt a little grossed out at the thought of drinking from a dirty vase, but another part of her couldn’t make herself care enough to not get a drink.
Bringing the vase to her lips with trembling hands, she took a long drink of the water, and immediately felt her mouth and throat cool down. It was glorious, and the taste was unlike anything she had ever experienced. She didn’t really have time to taste it much before she was chugging the entire vase of water, ignoring the splashes that ran down her chin and onto the sheets and blankets.
She made it about ½ way through the water when a thought struck her, almost making her drop the vase on accident.
Her mother wasn’t here.
The memory of her mom startled her, and she found herself pulling the vase away from her mouth and sucking in a nervous breath.
Her eyes scanned the room again, this time in search of her mom. The room was still silent. Still empty.
She was still alone.
She had been angry with her mom, she slowly began to remember. She had yelled at her about something, and then her mom had screamed back at her. And then….
She glanced up to the wall, and found a mirror hanging on the opposite wall from her. In the mirror, she was able to see her own reflection staring back at her, and she was taken aback.
Her face was wrapped in a white cloth that was completely covering the entire right side of her face. She had a substantial amount of bruising around her usable eye and her nose, painting her skin in deep shades of black, blue and purple. Her hair was a tousled mess, and she looked as though she had not eaten anything in ages.
She looked frail. Weak.
She exhaled slowly, feeling her own breath shaking with her as things began to piece together.
Her name was Skye. She was a famous singer. And…something bad happened to her. A lot of bad things had happened to her, but something worse happened to her.
She vaguely remembered standing up on a stage, and seeing thousands of eyes gazing back at her from the darkness, lights from above completely blinding her. She remembered being terrified.
Suddenly, and all at once, her stomach did a flip and she fell forwards, hanging her head over the edge of the bed and vomiting up all the water she had just drank. Skye gagged harshly, until nothing came up again. She reasoned that maybe she shouldn’t have drank all that water so fast.
The adrenaline shock seemed to sharpen her mind, and she realized that usually a doctor would’ve come to check on her by now, if this was just a typical hospital. But no one had come yet… and now that she thought about it, since when were hospitals ever this silent?
Her gaze turned towards the door nearby, and she noticed that the door was closed and locked completely.
Skye furrowed her brows in confusion. Why would the doctors lock her in her room?
She suddenly felt a strong urge to get up out of bed and go looking around for someone.
She glanced down at her left arm, finding tubes and needles poked into her skin, covered up with clear medical tape.
She reached for the tubes and tried to gingerly tug them free from her skin, but she was immediately met with a flash of pain when trying to pull on them. She grimaced, instead moving to peel the tape away instead.
That worked better, and she was able to quickly free herself from the tubes and needles. She tossed them down to the side of her bed and scrunched her nose in disgust when blood began to seep out of the holes they had left behind in her skin.
Skye slowly moved to swing her legs off the edge of the bed, and found that it took a lot of her strength and concentration to make her body work and coordinate with her mind. She sat there for a moment, shivering at the sudden cold, not being covered by her blankets any longer. It was freezing, and the hospital gown that she had wrapped loosely around her body was not nearly enough to keep her warm.
She shivered uneasily, exhaling slowly. A small puff of mist escaped her mouth.
Okay. That was weird. Hospitals definitely shouldn’t be cold enough that the patients can see their own breath.
Skye shivered, reaching forwards and pulling a folded up hoodie off of her nightstand and slowly pulling it on over her head. The black fabric was soft, and still completely untouched. It was one of the hoodies she had released the last time she went on tour, and had an embarrassingly large image of her own face printed on the front, her name trailing down the left sleeve in a loopy cursive font.
Without a second thought, she carefully pushed herself off the bed and climbed to her feet, her knees trembling under her weight, and her leg muscles immediately threatening to give out under her. She inhaled shakily, before quietly letting it out and taking a step. The moment her leg lifted off the ground, she lost her balance and fell backwards, stumbling into the hospital bed directly behind her.
The smooth plastic railing dug into her spine, and instantly sent shots of pain through her like red fireworks. She grabbed the edge of the bed with all her strength, biting back a scream of pain, and trying to force her leg muscles to work.
Finally, after what felt like forever, her legs had stopped shaking so harshly, and she felt as though she was now able to stand on her own without her muscles betraying her.
She stood still for a moment, still shakily trying to breathe and regain her composure again. Her back was still throbbing angrily, but she figured since it was just a small bump she probably would be okay for the time being.
She gingerly snaked her fingers back behind her back and pressed against the sore spot, feeling the familiar ridge of her surgery scar. She massaged small circles into her muscles, trying to keep herself calm while she tried to alleviate the pain.
It didn’t take long before her back released a bit of its tension, her muscles warmed up and ready to move again.
She exhaled slowly, turning to look around her room now that she was up on her feet.
As she suspected, she was most certainly in a small hospital room. The only odd thing about it… well, all the lights and machines in the room were off. Even the heart monitor that she had been hooked up to was silent, its screen dark.
She swallowed, a nervous feeling beginning to rise up. She held onto the railing of her hospital bed once again, and carefully lifted her foot up, the muscles in her other leg still trembling weakly, but managing to keep her supported. She tried the other leg, and had a similar result.
She supposed she would probably be okay as long as she was careful. She just needed to step out of her room and flag down a nurse.
She took a wobbling step forwards, taking her hand off of the bed and praying that she was able to stay upright.
Her head was really beginning to bother her, and her eye throbbed painfully with every heartbeat. She really hoped she could find a nurse soon. Fuck, some Vicodin would be phenomenal right now. That thought irked a little bit of irritation in her, realizing the likelihood of the doctors prescribing it to her was extremely slim.
She took a couple more steps, being careful to stay upright and balanced, and finally, she was able to press her shoulder against the wall again. At least she had something to keep her standing, even if she lost her footing.
She lifted an arm, already beginning to feel the exhaustion setting in just from walking over here. She really wished she could sit back down for a moment, but she also really needed to have a nurse come in and speak with her. She still was having trouble remembering what happened and just how exactly she had gotten here.
She reached forward and pushed the door latch open, and then unlocked the door handle. She breathed slowly, trying to keep her body moving. The last thing she needed to do was have a fall right now.
She pushed the door handle down and took a few steps forward, peeking out the door.
Her heart sank.
The hallway was almost completely pitch black, and there were only 2 of the overhead fluorescent lights illuminated down towards the end of the hall. In the dim light, she could see the faint outlines of runaway gurneys littering the halls, papers covering every surface, and (though she may have just imagined it) she could’ve sworn she saw the still form of a person down at the end of the hall, lying completely still.
She felt herself immediately tense up, her breath catching in her throat. She took a small step back, letting the door slowly swing closed.
She inhaled slowly, her interest in going searching for a doctor vanishing in an instant.
Her heart had already begun to hammer frantically in her chest, her muscles instinctively beginning to tremble with the beginnings of an adrenaline rush.
Oh god, something bad must be happening. Something really bad by the looks of it. How long had she been asleep for?? Where was everyone, and why had she been left here??
With panic beginning to course through her veins, she twisted the locks on her door closed once again and pushed the door stopper down. She took a few more steps away from the door, her mind beginning to flutter nervously with anxious thoughts. Why was she here?? What had happened?? Where were her friends and family? Where was her mom?
She let her fingers tangle into her hair, the nerves already overwhelming her, and she harshly tugged at her scalp in an attempt to make herself calm down. The longer she kept her hair clutched in her fist, the more it pulled her scalp until finally, several strands ripped free into her palms.
She felt herself take a deep breath in, letting the hair free from her hands and turning back towards her room.
There, on her nightstand, was her saving grace.
Her phone.
Instantly, her mind brightened at the thought. She could call the police. She could call her mom and ask her to pick her up. She could call Gemma-
Her mind nearly did a barrel roll at the memory of her lifelong friend’s name. Her old ride or die. The friend that insisted that she would stay with her through everything.
But she hadn’t, had she?
No. She had left when things got rough. When the drugs became an issue.
After Paul.
The crash.
Rehab, recovery, the tour, meet and greets, photo shoots, dress rehearsals, Lewis-
Her mind stopped on that memory, and it all was starting to come back to her. All the weird-ass behavior. The screaming. The crunching on bone and flesh against solid steel. The smile.
She outstretched her hand, bracing herself against the wall as her stomach did another somersault, and she instinctively leaned forward, attempting to throw something up that wasn’t there.
The smiles… they had been the problem. They were the things that had been chasing her, haunting her, hurting her. Using her mind like a weapon against herself. She remembered feeling as though she was going insane, like she had no control over anything that happened around or to her. Feeling less like a person and more like a puppet on a string, being yanked about for others entertainment.
For IT’s entertainment.
Another wave of nausea rolled over her as she explicitly remembered the way that awful….thing had looked at her. It looked so excited. So gleeful about her terror and pain. It’s eyes she remembered best of all. Those horrible bloodshot eyes, so swollen they looked ready to burst like overripe fruit left to rot.
The sounds of her jaw breaking inside her own head, as it tore her apart from the inside out.
That memory above all the others, made her physically cringe, her hands reaching up to grab at her face, just to satisfy her own mind that she did not, in fact, have her head split open like a watermelon.
That image made her feel even sicker.
She needed to stop thinking about this shit right now. There was a time and a place, and right now was not it.
She shambled back towards her bedside, her legs feeling stronger and stronger after each passing moment. Her hands found their way around her phone, unplugging it from the charger and clicking the power on. Her battery percentage was at 8 percent, it seemed the phone had never charged at all in the first place.
The date was November 25th, 2024.
The last point in which she could remember had been the launch day for her tour, which had been on October 18th.
She had been asleep for over a month.

Must Be Something In The Water - Smile 2 Alternate Ending/Continuation
Chapter 1
The screams were deafening. Loud enough to drown out the blaring ringing feedback from the microphone.
The very same microphone that was now grotesquely smashed into Skye Riley’s face, the entire right half covered in blood and other unidentifiable flesh.
As the puddle of blood continued to grow around the now completely still pop star, the entire crowd abruptly surged backwards, as if just beginning to come out of a trance.
And then the true panic began.
It was a free for all, and every single person in the auditorium was scrambling, dashing, and dragging their ways past each other and through the sea of terrified concert goers in an attempt to escape the horrifying scene that had played out before them.
Not everyone was darting for the exits, however. There were still several people (whether it be the morbidly curious, or the devastated family and friends of Skye) that had stayed behind and were now instead rushing towards the stage towards the dead pop singer.
Elizabeth rushed forwards, her daughter’s name in her mouth as she screamed, immediately hopping over the small divider fence and immediately moving to climb up onto the stage where her child had been standing only moments ago. Back when all of her blood was still inside her body.
Elizabeth tore through the small crowd of security guards, police officers, a few concerned concert goers, backup dancers and a few friends of Skye’s.
“Move!!! Jesus MOVE!!” She screamed at them, her voice breaking as she approached her daughter’s still form.
Finally, after what felt like ages, the crowd parted enough that Elizabeth could rush through, and was immediately taken aback once she reached her.
Skye’s face (smeared with still-warm blood) was drawn in a tight smile, her one remaining eye completely empty.
Elizabeth froze, feeling as though her heart had just been shattered, ripped apart into tiny pieces, and she felt her breath catch in her throat.
Before she could stop herself, she keeled over and vomited on the now bloodstained stage.
A strong, tough figure rushed to her side, kneeling beside her as the crowd closed once again, pushing Elizabeth to the outskirts. Several people were frantically calling 911, requesting for aid and medical attention.
Elizabeth knew better.
Her daughter, no matter how much she wanted her to be alive, was not there anymore.
She gagged again, and she felt a hand lightly touch her back, before a pair of arms tugged her to her feet and embraced her.
When had she started crying? She found she couldn’t tell.
And who was screaming like that?? Oh wait. That was also her.
Her hands found their way around the strong figure’s torso, hands latching onto the back of their shirt and squeezing.
The night moved like a blur.
One moment, there was a crowd on the stage, and she was in the middle of it, then she was sprinting out after a group of paramedics who were frantically trying to pack Skye’s wounds, injecting her with adrenaline, and performing CPR on her body. Elizabeth knew that it was a futile and hopeless attempt. Skye was gone, and she found that she could quite literally not process that thought.
The last thing she had said to her daughter was encouragement to smile. To get out there on the stage and have fun, relax, perform. Sing her heart out, and dance, and enjoy her life and her success.
A sudden realization dawned on Elizabeth as she was frantically climbing into the passenger seat of the escort vehicle.
Skye had begged her to not have to perform.
She had said she wasn’t ready. That she was scared and that she felt like she was going crazy.
And how did she react??
She had called her daughter a selfish spoiled brat.
Her heart twisted painfully in her chest, another gut wrenching sob tearing its way from her throat as the van pulled away, quickly moving to catch up to the ambulance that carried her daughter.
“The sirens are still on,” the driver was saying in a panicked voice. “They only keep the lights and sirens on if there is a chance at survival. If they had declared her dead, the sirens would be off.”
“My baby…” she found herself sobbing, leaning into the arms of that same strong figure that she had held her moments ago on the stage. “My beautiful girl…” Glancing up with watery tear filled eyes, she found that it was Darius who was embracing her still.
She couldn’t make herself care enough to stop crying.
——•——-
A few yards away, within the ambulance that was still barreling its way through traffic on the way to the hospital, was a group of paramedics, all frantically trying to regain a pulse within the now flatlining pop star.
The woman on the table was small, much shorter than most, and inherently beautiful. All of them could see and knew it, but there was just something… off. About the way her face looked. Something about that horrible smile that had been stuck to the star’s face since she had struck herself with the microphone.
One paramedic clipped open the girl’s outfit, exposing the upper half of her chest. Another two were carefully and delicately removing the microphone from her face, and then trying to pack the wound full of antiseptic and gauze.
The third was preparing the defibrillators to shock life back into the lifeless girl.
“Hands off, everyone back!!!” The paramedic yelled, and immediately, everyone stepped away from her. “Clear!” He shouted, pressing the machines against her chest and causing her entire body to jolt with the electrical current. The flatline tone continued.
Everyone held their breath. This was it. If she didn’t regain a heartbeat after the third shock to the heart, she would be pronounced dead.
“Clear!!” The paramedic shouted once again, pressing the defibrillators back against her skin and causing her body to jump once again with the shock. The flatline droned on.
Two paramedics grabbed each others hands, squeezing them tightly.
“Come on now dammit!!” The paramedic shouted, charging the defibrillators one final time. “Clear!!” The man yelled, his voice brimming with desperation as he pressed the machines against her skin again. She convulsed once again, and the flatline continued.
Everyone went silent, everyone’s hearts heavy with the realization that there was no saving Skye Riley.
The famous pop star was dead. She was officially dead.
Everyone lowered their heads, two of the paramedics even allowing a few tears to stream down their cheeks.
“…Call it,” the lead paramedic said, and another looked down at his watch.
“Time of death: 7:24 pm, Octob-“
*beep.*
Everyone silenced immediately, all eyes flickering up to the heart monitor.
*beep.*
Another small beep echoed in the silent ambulance.
*beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.*
The machine let out a few small uneven beeps before finally regaining a rhythm once again, and slowly but surely picking up speed.
Every paramedic was silent before they all turned their eyes back towards each other, relief etched into all of their expressions.
“Oh Jesus Christ, it’s a miracle,” one of them mumbled with a soft laugh.
#smile 2#skye riley#smile#hospitals freak me tf out#starting a story is hard#honestly I just don’t want to accept that they just killed Skye off like that and I will absolutely make it everyone’s problem
