My Thoughts on Pat

Like, “from a certain point of view”, you can argue Pat has a point regarding the events of Season 2.

But from a purely objective standard, he doesn’t, really.

He returned to Atlanta to help everyone, but later on betrays that he believed that this would earn him forgiveness - the same entitled attitude that infected him throughout Season 1.

He couldn’t POSSIBLY expect that anyone would want to let him walk free as long as he had ANY super powers, as without proof that he committed all these murders, ordinary incarceration wouldn’t work.

And him listening to David with respect to going behind Suzanne’s back didn’t do him ANY favors.

And then there’s his continued insistence that the actions of the Crooked Man wasn’t him, denying any culpability for what happened during his tenure as the supervillain of season 1 - when we see throughout with Brayden that the Crooked Energy cannot, except in rare circumstances, control its host.

Being good IS hard, and Pat shows us, time and time again, that he isn’t up to it. As Devin said, doing a bad thing means you have the chance to pick up and make a better choice next time, but Pat time and again, makes the bad choice.

Yes, maybe we can feel a little melancholy at him accepting the Crooked Energy back like an addict who falls back into an addiction, but since the addiction is BEING A TERRIBLE PERSON…well.
